Process flow stuck while execution - Fork being used

Hi,
We are using fork feature in the process flow. Three mappings are being forked; if all the 3 are successfully completed, then the 'END_SUCCESS' needs to be reached. This is done by routing the success transition from 3 mappings to the 'AND' process and then from 'AND' to 'END_SUCCESS'. If any one of the mapping fails, the 'END_FAILURE' needs to be reached. This is done by routing the success transition from 3 mappings to the 'OR' process and then from 'OR' to 'END_FAILURE'.
When this process flow is executed, 2 mappings are successfully completed; the third one is completed with errors. While viewing from workflow monitor, the success routes are clearly shown but the failure route is not shown. In the runtime audit browser, the mapping details are correctly shown (2 mappings with success and the third one with failure). The process flow is shown having a status of 'BUSY'. The process flow keeps on waiting and does not get completed/aborted automatically.
Is there something which I have missed in the process flow?
Thanks in advance,

Reposting as there was a mistake in my previous posting:

  • Upload Process Flow to detail Submitter and Reviewer using some mechanism

    Hi All
In creating the process flow, we have to feed details of the person who inputs data and who reviews or approves/rejects the data. The only way I know to do this very manual, to feed in the name of the submitter/reviewer one by one against all lines shown.
Is there an Excel upload or some other functionality to it in a more efficient manner?
    Thanks

    Rembrandt,
Did the two updates to Office 2011 get you to 14.3.9? That's the latest Mac version of Office.
I use Office 2013 and Mac Office 2011 on the same machine and have no problems opening any files shared between the two. You followed the instructions for uninstalling and updated your new installation correctly, I have to assume. It sounds as if there is a problem with your cuurent configuration but if it's not an update problem, or an installation problem, I can only direct you to the MS Office for Mac user community -> http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/mac (sometimes you get lucky and get an actual MS employee answering your question).
    Good luck,

  • OWB Process Flow stuck

    Hi Gurus,
I'm new to OWB, I hope to get some help from you!
I'm supporting a ETL system based on OWB. We have daily process flows scheduled to run without any issue, however, these couple of days the ETL process can not complete. It's always stuck at certain step. We kill the process, and re-run the process, but still can not solve the problem.
Have anyone of you encountered such a situation? What need to check?
    Thanks!

You might want to check to see if you have anything "parallel" running
We recently had an issue with one of our mappings where one day it decided to just stop working and "freeze"
Our DBA found that we had a Oracle hint for "Parallel" in the code and removed it. After that the mapping ran fine.
    Best of luck

    Thanks in advance...

First of all; if a problem is urgent then you should always contact Oracle support instead.
It looks like the domain is corrupt within Tuxedo. You could try to reconfigure the domain so that it will get recreated in Tuxedo. Make sure you have a backup before you do this. To reconfigure the domain simply open a CMD box and type the following command (from the appserver directory):
    psadmin -c configure -d "DOMAIN_NAME"
You can only use this command for the application server.

  • Process flow errors while deploying

    Hi all,
The following error occurs while deploying a simple process:
RPE-02085: Failed to test wb_rti_workflow_util.initialize through deployed Workflow Database Link
CF.US.ORACLE.COM@WB_LK_F_IMP_BB. Please check that "EXECUTE ANY PROCEDURE" privilege is set and
that the OWB Runtime is available.
    - ORA-04052: error occurred when looking up remote object
    [email protected]@WB_LK_F_IMP_BB
ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1
ORA-12545: Connect failed because target host or object does not exist
OWF_MGR has been given execute any procedure grants. My opinion is that the database link has an error. This is how Oracle creates the DB link:
create database link CF.US.ORACLE.COM@WB_LK_F_IMP_BB connect to RUNTIME_OWNER identified by RUNTIME_OWNER using'
    (DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS_LIST=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=demo.SMS)(PORT=1521)))(CONNECT_DATA=(SERVICE_NAME=CF)))';
When i create another DB link manually without the '.sms'-part in the HOST then the DB-link works fine. Where can i find the parameter that tells OWB to put .sms behind the hostname? I have tried numerous possibilities in sqlnet.ora, listener.ora and tnsnames.ora, but nothing seems to work. I have read the previous articles on this subject but havent found the solution.
    Thankz in advance,
    Eric

I am getting the same problem, The problem was caused by the domain suffix (.KC.RR.COM).
when I deploy a processflow package, owb creating bd_link with following description. Actually my host name is NG.
    (DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS_LIST=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=NG.KC.RR.COM)(PORT=1521)))(CONNECT_DATA=(SERVICE_NAME=ORCL)))
How can I avoid creating domain suffix as part of db_link. Please let me know the steps you have taken to correct this.
    Your help is greately appreciated.
    Thanks,

    Hi Durgesh,
First of all the field for which I got X symbol is not a selection criteria field.Rather it is an naviagational attribute of a characteristics. In my query service order is a charecterictreristics and status type is an attribute of it.I am  checking the status type of different orders. For a particular order and status tupe X symbol is coming.

  • How do I connect to computers that are being used in the lab, but have no address listed on the "all computers" screen and say "off line" while they are being used?

Thanks for any help I can get.  I'm the new guy here at school, and did not set up the system, so I'm not familiar with any of the individual steps for correcting problems.  My question is listed in the window up top.
    Jim

Thanks for the response. I tried to find out what you asked.  For example:
    1. Computer #35 is listed on the "all computers" screen but says "access denied", "not authorized",  right click for " get info" has no administrators listed, and I don't know how to add my computer as one.
    2.  "Scanner" screen # 35 is not listed either in "Bonjour", or "Local Network" (ethernet interface)
    3.  "Scanner 2" screen - same.
    4.  "Scanner 3" screen - same.
    5.  "Computer Lab" screen #35 is listed, but says "off line", "access denied"
I hope this gives us somewhere to start and go from there.  Thanks.

  • Oracle Workflow - Process Flow showing as busy

Am working on a Workflow that has several mappings strung together. The Mapping is successfull, but the status shows up as busy.
    How can we diagnose/debug?
Same thing is showing up on Workflow Monitor.
    - Jojo

    Hello Jojo,
Look at one of my previous posts on how to expedite stuck processes:
Re: Process flow stuck while execution - Fork being used
The Workflow documentation on "stuck processes" mentions setting up "Background Workflow Engines" that periodically check for processes that cannot proceed and terminate them.
There has been some OWB-related discussions on this in the Workflow forum, eg:

  • OWB Process Flow Execution in Workflow

    Hi!
I hope somebody can help me with this one... I have a process flow designed to load data from a flat file to a db staging table then do some transformation on the data and load the data to the data warehouse. I am using OWB 9.2.0.2.8, 9i DB (9.2.0.5) and OWF 2.6.2. I have successfully validated and deployed the process flow but during execution, the process failed on the mapping that loads data from the flat file to the staging table. The message log of the deployment manager reports: /u01/oracle/product/owb/temp/STAGING_MAP.ctl (No such file or directory). Do I have to set the source location for the flat file again? You see we have already executed this mapping alone and it worked fine, using the source location in the server as defined in the mapping, which is /u01/files/.
    Thank you.
    Shiela

    hi,
well, jus check whether u created locations and connecter and check u deployed every thing and try once again.

It is working when i execute the batch file through MS-DOS.
Please let me know is there any other necessary steps i need to take.
    Thanks in advance
    Malli

    Hi Malli,
Because you are using an external process you do not need to specify the cmd command to perform the execution. You can just put the call to the batch file you have in the command string and that is it. Beware that the working directory is <owb home>\owb\bin\win32.
    Mark.

  • Modify process flows using Oracle Workflow

    Hi,
I'd like to use Oracle Workflow to enhance the process flows created using Warehouse Builder, as some features are missing if compared with the full-blown Workflow Builder, and it is desired to integrate OWB processes in larger ones. I have successfully applied changes on the Workflow processes generated from OWB but it's not clear how far I can go, especially because I don't want to lose too much of the benefits of the original Workflows:all mapping results should continue to show in the Runtime Audit Browser, and it shouldn't be impossible to deploy the processes in a new environment.
I am worried that when I change the processes manually in Workflow, I lose the possibility to re-deploy automatically from OWB, but this is tolerable as long as the final Workflow processes are maintainable and deployable.
Has anyone tried a similar approach? How much can it be feasible/supported??
    regards, Antonio

Jean-Pierre, thank you very much for your reply.
I'm still evaluating what will be done through OWB and what through OWF. However my first attempts were oriented along the lines you suggest, that is to keep the process flows generated by OWB untouched, and use them as building blocks for larger processes. At the moment I am trying to realize what balance gives the best result. One extreme would be to use OMB scripting to wrap mappings in very simple generated processes, deploy them and build all the workflow logic in OWF. The other extreme would be to implement complete workflows through OWB and modify them through Workflow, but I'm sure this would certainly not be supported (as the Workflow developer manual states).
My intent is to use OWF to add some flow logic I find difficult to introduce using OWB, especially for recovery actions, eg I added a join operator to the standard AND and OR, which purpose is to wait that all joining processes complete and than to branch depending on a failure in any process. I don't want the following recovery/logging actions to start unless processing has stopped.
I built such logic very easily throw OWF but it's very involved using OWB, unless I'm missing something...

  • Error when using wb_rt_api_exec.run_task api to call process flow

    Dear All,
I am using OWBV 10.2.0.3 and currently have some issue with it.
I have a process flow and I'm executing it using wb_rt_api_exec api.
When I ran it, that process flow failes with below error messages.
RPE-01003: An infrastructure condition prevented the request from completing.
RPE-01038: Failed to evaluate expression null. Please modify the expression, redeploy and retry again.
RPE-01003: An infrastructure condition prevented the request from completing.
RPE-02227: Cannot test Control Center user OWF_MGR. This user must match the login credentials of the evaluation location configured on owning module.
    ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied
But using same user when I log on to the OWB client I can run that process flow without any error. So it seems to be there is no any sesurity issues too.
Furthermore I have done below things.
OWF_MGR (Processflow user), OWB_MGR (repositiry user) and RUNTIMEUSR (user used to run the processflow) all registered under control center.
There are couple of forum post here. I followed all those and didnt work anything for me.
    Early response highly regards,
    mc

    Hi,
    look these forum threads {message:id=3140661} and {message:id=2695999}
I think you need connect with Design Center under user which you used for executing processflow and register workflow location

  • Process Flows: Return Code or Message Severity

    Hi all,
I am trying to get a decent email system set up that will let me know which part of our OWB ETL load has warnings or errors.
I have one main Process Flow that calls several other process flows. On both levels, I need to know if any errors or warnings were encountered during execution.
There is a function WB_GET_RETURN_CODE which I hoped to use to get the return codes of the process flows, but while testing, I noticed that there are not return codes for process flows.
My backup solution is to check ALL_RT_AUDIT_EXEC_MESSAGES if there are any records in there. If there are, I check if they are ERROR or WARNING. Would this be a good solution to my problem?
Or is there a better way to find errors/warnings of process flows?

    HI VRV,
Step 1: Goto Display messages on right click of your Process chain
Step 2: Goto "Chain" tab and copy "Variant" and "Instance"
Step 3: Goto SE11 and Select table RSPCPROCESSLOG
Step 4: Paste the "Variant" and "Instance" and execute it, and the value of the other fields are returned: LOG_ID, TYPE, BATCHDATE and BATCHTIME
    Step 5: Goto SE38 and enter RSPC_PROCESS_FINISH
Step 6: Enter the values in the fields received from RSPCPROCESSLOG  table. Additionally, make the STATE as "G‟ -> Execute
Then your Process Chain will turn to green and proceed further......
    Hope this helps........
    Regards,

  • OWB 11.2 with SAP V6, Eror while execution the mapping.

I have a simple staging mapping, I am trying to get data into my staging table from SAP system. So far I have created a simple 1-1 mapping. when I generate the code it produces a abap report which when I try to execute on SAP system I get a syntax error. Now this error did not occur with SAP 11.1, Now I am trying to do is the following since going back to 11.1 is not a option.
When I try to run the mapping using OWB I get the following error.
    NativeExecution PlatformSchema M_STG_CABN_ODS
    M_STG_CABN_ODS
RPE-01082: Fail to execute the ABAP report.
Starting Execution of ABAP Report CABN_STG_CABN on Wed Nov 03 11:59:58 EDT 2010
Running ABAP report through function module RFC_ABAP_RUN_AND_INSTALL
    ERROR: null
Exit on error: Execution of ABAP Report CABN_STG_CABN on Wed Nov 03 11:59:58 EDT 2010
    M_STG_CABN_ODS FAILURE
    NativeExecution PlatformSchema M_STG_CABN_ODS
Although the error is not descriptive i believe structure of the report could be the reason.
Now I am trying to do a work around I save the report into a folder on AIX and modify the file to change the structure of the file. All I have to do is add/ delete spaces in certain places.
Now I plan on creating a process flow which would call that file using a user defined function.
Once I modify the report file manually, I want to execute the report so that I can generate the .dat file and ftp it over to the location and load it into staging using SQL loader as the .dat file is in that format.
The question is How do I do this. Do I need to specify the complete process in the process flow
or when I execute the report it would do the process for me as the ftp folder location has been specified in the SAP location.

Is there any other work around?
I am planning on saving the file and making the changes manually and then FTP it to SAP, Now my problem is I am not sure what Location to move it to.
My question now is where(location) does it(ABAP Report) get deployed . If it is not stored then how does OWB execute the steps in the file. I am trying to find where I can drop the modified file.
    Thanks

  • Process Flow showing as busy - though Complete

    Hi,
A Process Flow is stuck because one mapping had only two out connections - OK, and Error, but no 'OK with Warning' route. The Process Flow was then moved forward by using 'Expediate'. The Process Flow completed, but the Status in the Runtime Audit Browser still shows the status of the Process flow as busy.
How can this status be reset to complete?
    - Jojo

    Hi
Use the following scripts from ORAHOME\owb\rtp\sql to complete your process flow in OWB:
    1. list_requests.sql : list the busy runnings
    2. deactivate_execution.sql : deactivate your process flow
    3. deactivate_execution.sql : set status to complete your process flow
