Process instructions coming automatically

Dear Gurus
I have assigned process instruction in a master receipe for a particular material.
Suppose there are 4 phasesin the receipe and suppose I have assigned the instructions only in phase 1.
Now while creating the process order for that particular material I am finding that ,the system is picking up a process
instruction for the last phase with no 9999 and asking for values for the chrecteristics to generate the control receipe
(it is also asking for values for the chrecteristics that I have assigned in the first phase which is normal).
Where from the system is picking this process instruction which I didnt assign in master reciepe.

Check whether Status is PIGN is set in the order?
If yes then those PI categories are comes with control recipe destination (o10c).Check your control recipe destination.Go to Process Instruction to be generayed tab.You will find solution of your query.

Processing instructions and CDATA in XSLT

Dear all,
my BPEL process contains a transform activity. The corresponding XSLT stylesheet supplies an output variable that I want to write to the filesystem as an XML document for use in third party applications.
This XML document must have a few processing instructions inside. When inserting this processing instructions in the XSLT, they are not inserted into the output XML document, i.e. the processing instructions are ignored. Using CDATA sections results in the same behavior.
Is there a workaround available for this bug in the BPEL Process Manager (without working with strings and string manipulation)?

Automatic process instructions and messages are generated when the control recipe is created. These created instructions have an associated field "Line Number of Process Instruction" (field AFFTD-FTRNR). This field should designate the "sequence of process instructions within a phase".
I get only 2 values in this field, 0000 and 9999.
This works for PI Sheets. Internally SAP has a way to manage it.
Send to a control system ten times, phase 0020, instruction "9999 ACONS_1" ... The external system will get lost.
Is there a way to control the sequence of this number?

The prices are not coming automatically

In batch determination. When i am creating a sales order the batch number is coming automatically. But the thing is the prices are not coming automatically. what could be the reason. Even though i maintained the prices conditon records in vch1 but the system not picking up automatically. Please give the solution. It is urgent

Batch valuation is possible with the std functionality.
It will allow to valuate each batch saperately.

Use
You use valuation for a single batch if you want to separate costs for externally processed batches from costs for internally processed batches, and if you want to keep the price and value of each individual batch in inventory management on a value basis.
Integration
Valuation for a single batch is carried out using separate values, just as partial stocks for a material are distinguished according to origin, for example. In valuation for a single batch, a separate characteristic category is created for each batch (batch number = characteristic category).
Valuation for a single batch is a special kind of valuation type for batches.
Prerequisites :To work with valuation for a single batch, you must choose valuation for a single batch (indicator X in the standard system) as substance characteristic type in the material master record.

Process instruction characteristics and process messages

Can anyone tell me why process instruction characteristics is required when only process message characteristics are displayed in PI sheets (input or output).

Answer is already there in your question.
and that is
(input or output)
Now you creates the one Process Message characteristic let's it is Temperature.But how it's value comes in the PI Sheet (As Ouput or Input manually by user) that is decided by that Process Instruction Characteristic.
Now when you creates the Process Instruction Category (O12C) except type 0 you have choice of creates it by using help of Process Assistant.This Assistant assigns the Process Instruction Characteristic to the process Massage Characteristic automatically when you select the specific radio button or Activate the check box during that PI category creation.
For Example when you creates the PI category Type 2 using Assistant.Here after naming first screen comes to you is to define type of Process data Request.Here when you select the radio Button for Simple process data request then indirectly you assign the process Instruction characteristic PPPI_DATA_REQUEST_TYPE and its Value comes as Simple.
But when you create the PI category type 0 you have to assign this PI Characteristic manually because its Universal Category and there is no assistant which helps you.

Process Instruction generation - PI Sheet

Fellow Experts,
I've used Process Management with a 3rd party MES application to download Process Instructions (via Cont recipes) in the past. I've gone thru the documents for PI Sheet creation & understand that unlike with a 3rd party Process Control System (where PI's are automatically created & sent), one has to go onto the Master Recipe or the Process Order & enter/define the Process Instructions that are intended to be sent to the Process Control (PI Sheet in this case).
Is my understanding correct?? If yes, is there not a way with which I can invoke the PI creation automatically with the release of the Order ??

Process management coordinates the exchange of production-relevant data between the ERP system and the independent production level (of an external system).
The production level can be controlled as follows:
Manually: Steps carried out manually by the operator
Automated: Steps carried out automatically by process control system
Partially automated: Steps are carried out both manually and automatic
It depends how we are going do this.
If it is manual, control room person or engineer in the Plant has to feed the values maintained in PI sheet.
If it is automated, the value will come from machine. Like from DCS, PI sheet values will be populated automatically. For this configuration and ABAP coding is needed.
Process instruction types:
Type 0: Universal Process Instruction Category
Type 1: Process Parameters
Type 2: Process Data Requests
Type 3: Process message subscription
Type 4: Process Data Calculation Formulas
Type 5: Inspection Results Requests
Type 6: Dynamic Function Calls
Type 7: Sequence Definition
Type 1,2 and 3 can be used with Process control systems (automated) and all except type 3 can be used with PI sheets (manual)
Control Recipes transfers control data from the process order to process control.
The information contained in a control recipe and the destination to which it is sent are user-defined.
Control recipes can be sent to :
Automated Plants PI-PCS interface by control recipe download.
Manually Controlled Plants Sent to the PI sheet.
For characteristic-based process instructions- ABAP list-based PI sheet or a browser-based PI sheet.
For XSteps, browser-based PI sheets
PI sheets used to exchange data between the partially or completely manually operated production level and the SAP system (PP-PI).
In manually operated production lines, this usually involves a process operator who uses the PI sheet to transfer production-relevant actual data to the SAP system and receives data from the SAP System

Processing Static (via automatic row processing) & Dynmaic fields

Hi,
I have a page that has 2 sections. Section S is statically driven which I'd like to process via a Automatic Row Process DML. Section D is for dynamic fields which I process via a PL/SQL script.
I need to process Section D (dynamic) first.
Now they're 2 things that I'm noticing when I try this. Can someone please confirm.
- After my process of Section D it seems to make a commit. I know this since I have a error in Section S, and the values from Section D are committed to the DB. I need to make sure a commit only occurs after all page processes have completed error free.
- My Automatic Row Process DML for Section S doesn't seem to work at all. It can't seem to read the values at all. I know this since I have several columns which are "NOT NULL" and the appropriate error messages are being raised. The Automatic Row Fetch for Section S does work properly.
For the time being the work around is writing a process for the entire page which includes both Section S and Section D. The thing is I thought that HTMLDB would be able to help me out a lot with Section S since it had static fields etc.

Martin - I would try to debug these two processes separately. If the Auto DML process isn't firing, perhaps the button used to submit the page isn't setting the request to one of the standard values recognized by the Auto DML package ('INSERT','CREATE','CREATE_AGAIN','CREATEAGAIN' for inserts and 'SAVE','APPLY CHANGES','UPDATE','UPDATE ROW','CHANGE','APPLY' or like 'APPLY%CHANGES%' for update).
A commit happens whenever session state is changed, so if your process saves an item value, that would do it. If you think that is not the cause of the commit, let me know the details of the process and I'll take a closer look. There is no way to prevent the commit when session state is updated.

I have found a fix after doing additional research through this forum. Tech Note #328730 addresses this problem and it works for Photoshop Album 3.2 even though it was written for release 1.0.

When using this fix the Tech Note indicates:
"Imported image data and tags are lost when you re-create the My Catalog.psa file, so you need to reimport images and reapply any tags"
however it did retain the captions (at least it did for me).

Error while creating process instruction sheet in COR2

While creating Process instruction sheet, the following error is occuring. Please guide me to resolve the issue.

In the process instruction, variable QTYPRODUCED is defined for the value that you want the system to propose when data is entered in the PI sheet. This value does, however, not exist because it has not yet been defined as a variable.
If you want to use a variable in a process instruction, however, you must first have defined it in a preceding process instruction or in the same process instruction.
Procedure
Define variable QTYPRODUCED in one of the preceding process instructions or in the same process instruction.

While creating PO, free goods tick mark coming automatically in PO if i m entering net price..
I have checked material master as well as vendor master.Nowhere free good maintained in both.
Then, why it is picking automatically in PO?

The meaning for invoice receipt check box under invoice tab for any line item is that Po is expected Invoice for that line item.
If this check box is not set then PO considered free items with no invoice
So generally Invoice Receipt Check Box are kept in display mode through OMJ4 so that end user can not modify it

How to print process instruction in process order.

Hi dudes,
,y client is not having Process management interface, but they want to maintain process instruction for phases in recipe and want to take print of process instructions in process order after release process order.
Please explain the path for printing process instructions copied into process order.
if some one assign PIs to phase in recipe, will control recipes be created after release of process order.

The easiest way to do what you want is to actually create the PI sheet and then print it off from the view PI sheet transaction (CO60). This is then all standard functionality.
to do this you will need to set the configuration to create the control recipe when the process order is released and send it to a recipe destination.

Output message not coming automatically for PO

hi
i cerated new output message sending PO to vendor by e-mail. I maintained condition records in MN04. Condition table, access sequence all are maintained. I included new output type into the control data of the existing schema RMBEF1 and the schema is assigned to PO also. Also maintain entry in following string SPRO- Material Management-Purchasing-Messages-Output control-Message Types-Define Message type for PO---Fine-Tuned Control: Purchase Order
Still the output message is not coming automatically while creating PO every time i add output type namually. please guide

Hope you have maintained condition for combination. preferrably -
1) Purch Doc type > PORG > Vendor
2) Please make sure that, you have maintained the fileds which are relavant for output.(if you are making any changes in existing PO and you need output)

Updating a XML document with a processing instruction

Greetings Guru's
I have a fully functional XML database solution for our new system. The only thing left is for me to update a xml document in the database with a processing instruction to find the style sheet (JAXB strips it out when the XML must go back into the database).
I can update complete nodes and node elements in the xml document using updateXML in a regular update statement, but I do not know how to add the following processing instruction to my documents.
