Processing more barcodes

Hello,
I have more barcodes on one page. My process scans the page correctly but the ordering of the barcodes in the list is different.
I need a method to assign every element of the list to a special xml variable with a xsd schema. So I have to know what barcode is scan in which element of the list that the assignment is successful.
The next steps in the process should be a jdbc component with xpath to insert the data of a one barcode in the db table which belongs to the barcode.
I don't find anything in the workbench to do this.Is there any possibility for this xml problem?
Regards
Christoph

When you encode data into the barcode you have the option to include the "label".  In Designer, go to the properties of your barcode and uncheck the "Generate Label Automatically" check-box and enter a meaningful name for the barcode.  Then go to the "Value" tab and select the Delimited format (do not use XML) and check the "Include Field Names" and "Include Label" check-boxes.  Once you decode the data and then use the delimited to XML service you will have a list of XML documents each containing a "label" element that will identify which barcode the data is coming from on your form.

  • Processing 2D barcoded

    Hello,
I am currently trying to process the 2D barcode, and I really appreciate if I receive some help to get started. I have been searching through many articles, and most of them only explain how the 2D barcode works but doesn't tell me the exact step I need to do to process the barcode. I actually found an article that tell me how to process the barcode, but it seems like the article require XPAAJ SDK, but that is no longer available in the latest LiveCycle Installation. That is why I really appreciated if you could show me some articles I could read or suggestion of how to process the 2d barcode.
Thanks in advance for your help!

    Hi Lee and Son,
Thanks for the posts and replies. With ur posts it was easier to handle this tedious stuffs though I am facing similar issues. I am not getting any errors in my failure folder and still not getting output decoded xml in results folder either. i 've configured extractToXML method and provided input mapping params as below though m nt sure about this also -
    Input Parameter Mappings:
    decoderXML:Literal
    Variable
    *fieldDelimiter:Literal
    Variable
    *lineDelimiter:Literal
    Variable
    *xmlFormat:Literal
    Variable
    Output Parameter Mappings:
    outXMLDocs:
Even i m confused to using only decode method for input params mapping. Would be great if you could provide any pointer reg. the same.

  • Are multiple processes more efficient in Solaris 2.6 ?

I am running performance measurement tests in a Solaris 2.6 environment. The tests run one message at a time through my application and measure the response time. I found that my app will process the test message more quickly when multiple instances of the (single threaded) app are running.
This runs contrary to my intuition - since only one message is available in the message queue for processing at one time, the performance should be the same, with one or several instances running.
Does Solaris 2.6 run programs more efficiently when multiple instances exist?
I ran sar with various options, and some of the results vary, but I'm not sure which results are significant.
    Thanks -

Your thinking is a little off.
What you are seeing is an attribute of a multi-processing operating system. I'm going to explain this wrong but hopefully the theme is correct. One characteristic is a single process runs on the CPU for a specific time quantum. If the process uses all of its time quantum, it gets forced off the CPU and its priority gets raised - meaning the potential that more processes could knock it off of the CPU cuz their priority is better. If it voluntarily releases the CPU, its priority gets lowered - means it may be the CPU more often if and when it needs it.
So maybe your CPU can phsyically handle 10 operations/sec. Because of scheduling topics (time quantums, interrupts, etc) and the nature of single threaded apps, that single threaded performance process of yours may only get 2 operations/sec all by itself.. By increasing the number of processes you run to say 5, you'll get your 10 operations/sec. Increasing it to 6 processes, you might get 10.5 operations/sec but you've reached your point of limited return and may start slowing thing down.
There are several good books on performance and high level queueing theory which can explain this much better then I just did.

  • Cannot open / process more than 30 BMPs

I want to open about 50 small .BMPs (88x88) so I can create a master palette that I will then batch apply to all these images. The problem is that Photoshop CS3 (10.0.1) will open 30 of them and then just stop. No crash, no error message; it just stops opening up any more of the .BMPs. At that point, I can then go to File/open and try to open up the next image in the sequence by itself, and sometimes it will open, sometimes it won't. But trying to open up all of the rest of the images at the same time just doesn't do anything.
So I thought I'd batch convert to .TIFFs just to see if that would help at all. But trying to batch convert the .BMPs does the same thing -- it goes for a while and then just stops after processing 30 of them. This time, however, I get an error: "The command 'convert mode' is not currently available."
So I'm having to batch convert to .TIFFs in another program. Frustrating.
It looks like I might simply be up against an honest-to-goodness bug (more on that below), but I thought I'd ask here in case there might be something I'm doing wrong.
It doesn't appear to be memory related (before loading the images, I might be using about 700MB of RAM; after the (failed) load, it's only about 750MB (and this is out of 3GB of RAM with Photoshop set to use the default 70%). There is plenty of free space on the scratch disk (121GB).
Interestingly, I've been able to tie this behavior into a bug that's been annoying me for some time but until now could never figure out how to reproduce -- when working for a while with .BMPs, occasionally I'd get Photoshop into this mode where saving out .BMPs creates 0 KB, invalid files. And if I don't check now and then as I'm saving, I can really screw myself because I have to go back and re-save all those invalid files (after closing and re-opening Photoshop to get it out of this "mode"). Well, I discovered that after trying to open the 50 files I want but Photoshop stops at 30, it is now in unable to save valid .BMPs. If I try to save a new .BMP from one of the open files to some other location (or as a copy to the same location), it will almost always save a 0 KB file. I've reported this behavior to the bug report link.

  • System.ArgumentException: Illegal characters in path. When Processing More than 1 lakh records.

    Hi ALL,
I am Having a trouble with processing the files using c# language. as it's giving the error saying that Illegal character into the path.
although i am using below regular expression for checking and removing the illegal character by another method.
    Regex pattern = new Regex("\\/:*?\"<>|");
Some of the records are being processed correctly  that means , records are being fetched from the database and written to the file system correctly by using BinaryWriter class.
Can anybody help me for this error to resolve.
Note:- There are more than 1 lakh records to be processed.

    Hi Michael Taylor,
I have used the log4net to catch the errors while my loop was
continuing till the end of the processing of those many records.
Also System.IO.Path.GetFileName(filename) was throwing the error ,
so i have check the filename with regular expression and replace illegal character from there and then
    call the System.IO.Path.GetFileName(filename) method.
    i have use Regex illegalInFileName = new Regex(@"[\\/:*?""<>|]");
this regular expression to replace illegal character.

  • Informatica Night Update (Delta) Process - More than one Delta Source

We are setup to run a nightly process to update our DW with changes that took place that day in our Siebel OLTP environment. We refer to this as our "Delta Process" since it only updates rows that were chagned in the OLTP or adds new rows that were added to the OLTP. Here is our design:
    * In our Siebel OLTP we have a View (V table) created that contains a view of only the records that have been changed since the last "Delta Process". This way we can identify only those rows that need to be updated. So in these examles when you see a table that is prefixed as "S_" it references the entire table and a table prefixed as "V_" references on only the changes to the underlying "S_" table.
Ex 1: Order Item table (S_ORDER_ITEM) joins to Account table (S_ORG_EXT). In the Informtica mapping SQ_JOINER we have a query to SELECT statements that with the results concatentated with a UNION statement. The first SELECT statement selects all rows from the V_ORDER_ITEM joined to the S_ORG_EXT so that all delta rows on the order item view are updated with the corresponding data from the account table (S_ORG_EXT). The second SELECT statement selects all rows from the S_ORG_ITEM joined to the V_ORG_EXT so that all of the order item records that contained account information that changed (per the view) are updated. The result is an updated Order Item DW table that contains all updates made to the Order Item and all any associated Accounts information that is stored on the Order Item.
    SELECT A.*, B.* FROM V_ORDER_ITEM A, S_ORG_EXT B WHERE A.ORG_ID = B.ROW_ID
    UNION
    SELECT A.*, B.* FROM S_ORDER_ITEM A, V_ORG_EXT B WHERE A.ORG_ID = B.ROW_ID
    The issues:_
This works fine when you have two tables joined together that contain deltas and you need only on UNION statement. However, the issue is when I have 14 tables joined to S_ORDER_ITEM that contain deltas. This cannot be accomlised (that I can see) with one UNION statement but you would need a UNION statement for each delta table.
Ex 2: This example contains just 3 tables. Order Item table (S_ORDER_ITEM) joins to Account table (S_ORG_EXT) and joins to Product table (S_PROD_INT). In this example you will need to have one UNION for each delta table. If you combine delta tables in the same union you will ultimately end up missing data in the final result. This is because the delta tables will only contain the rows that have changed and if one delta table contains a change and needs to pull data from another delta table that did not contain a corresponding change it will not pull the information.
    SELECT A.*, B.*, C.* FROM V_ORDER_ITEM A, S_ORG_EXT B, S_PROD_INT C WHERE A.ORG_ID = B.ROW_ID AND A.PROD_ID = C.ROW_ID
    UNION
    SELECT A.*, B.*, C.* FROM S_ORDER_ITEM A, V_ORG_EXT B, S_PROD_INT C WHERE A.ORG_ID = B.ROW_ID AND A.PROD_ID = C.ROW_ID
    UNION
    SELECT A.*, B.*, C.* FROM S_ORDER_ITEM A, S_ORG_EXT B, V_PROD_INT C WHERE A.ORG_ID = B.ROW_ID AND A.PROD_ID = C.ROW_ID
    The question:_
    1. Is my understanding of how the delta process works correct?
    2. Is my understanding that I will need a UNION for each delta table correct?
    3. Is there another way to perform the delta process?
My issues are based upon the fact that I join roughly 15 delta tables and select about 100 columns to denormalize the data in the DW. If this is the only option that I have then this will generate an very large and complex query which would be very difficult to manage and udpate.
    Thanks...

    Hi,
Going thru your post, I find that you have the delta view (V_) and the main table (S_) as drivers, i.e you have two driver tables and hence you make outer joins (w.r.t each other) and make a union to get the complete set of data.
Can you please tell me why both are considered as drivers? Is there a possiability that the V_ view may not have some data but the corresponding S_table might have an update?

  • Can I process more than 1000 I/Os for data logging?

My process requires 1000 digital input for data logging and 500 digital output for HMI display.
Can I use Lookout for this application?

The I/O count is well within the capabilities of Lookout. If you are working with this size of an application you should look into the features of Lookout 5.0. There are means to backup your data from a different computer. Also view and export your data easily from the new Historical Data Viewer. There has always been means for redundancy. Going through a course manual also helps, class or self paced.

  • Unable to process more than 100 fields from a form

I am having trouble with posting data from APEX to the database when a form has a large number of columns. I get a 404 “The webpage cannot be found” error when submitting.
The Apache logs showed the following error when a form containing 109 fields is processed (update or insert):
    +*[Fri Jan 29 10:45:39 2010] [error] [client ##.#.##.#] [ecid: 79599930492,1] mod_plsql: /pls/apex_dev/wwv_flow.accept HTTP-404*+
    wwv_flow.accept: SIGNATURE (parameter names) MISMATCH+
VARIABLES IN FORM NOT IN PROCEDURE: P_T101,P_T102,P_T103,P_T104,P_T105,P_T106,P_T107,P_T108,P_T109+
NON-DEFAULT VARIABLES IN PROCEDURE NOT IN FORM:+
This seems to suggest that the large number of columns (109) or the string length of the post associated with the larger forms may be the problem.
Since the sting length of a post has a limit of 2MB then this can not be the problem source.
I found from APACHE server documentation that there is "LimitRequestFields" Directive with a Default: LimitRequestFields 100
I found further support for this theory when I tested forms with 99,100,101 fields respectively.
The error (HTTP-404) only occurs when the number of fields on the form exceeded 100.
I then had our DBA change the default setting in the httpd.conf file to 128 fields which I read somewhere was an APEX limit (not sure of this).
This did not fix the problem and the same HTTP-404 and Apache log result occurs.
Any ideas on a solution would be greatly appreciated.

    Varad,
Thank you for clarifying. I did convince myself that I had found the solution in the Apache config. idea but all I had found was a red herring. Also, I did search the forum before asking my question but obviously not well enough. Since your reply have found a number of references to the 100 limit.
I think I may have a workaround, possibly involving a wizard insert/update approach. Will need to test.
    Cheers,
    Meagain

  • Processing Multiple Files for more than 100 Receive Location - File Size - 25 MB each file, file type DML

    Hi Everybody
    Please suggest.
For one of our BizTalk interface, we have around 120 receive locations.  We are just moving (*.dml) files from the source to destination without doing any processing.
We receive lots of files in different receive locations and in few cases the file size will be around 25 MB and so while moving these large files, the CPU usage is varying between 10% to 90+% and the time consuming for this single huge file is around
10 to 20 minutes.  This solution was already in place and was designed by the previous vendor for moving the files to their clients.  Each client has 2 receive locations and they have around 60 clients.  Is there any best solution for implementing
this with in BizTalk or outside BizTalk? Please suggest.
I am also looking for how to control the number of files which gets picked from the BizTalk receive location.  For example, If we have say 1000 files in receive location and we want to pick at a time only 50 files only (batch of 50) then is it possible?
because currently it is picking all the files available in source location, and one of the process is dropping thousands of files in to the source location, so we want to control  the number of files getting picked (or even if we can control to pick the
number of KBs).  Please guide us on how we can control the number of files.

    Hi Rajeev,
25 MB per file, 1000 files. Certainly you got to revisit the reason for choosing BizTalk.
“the time consuming for this single huge file is around 10 to 20 minutes”
     - This is a problem.
You could consider other file transfer options like XCopy or RobotCopy etc if you want to transfer to another local/shared drive. Or you can consider using SSIS
which does comes with many adapters to send to destination system depending on their destination transfer protocol.
But in your case, you have some of the advantages that you get with BizTalk. For your scenario, you have more source systems (more Receive locations), with BizTalk
it’s always easier to manage these configurations, you can easily enable and disable them when a need arise. You can easily configure tracking; configure host instances based on load etc. So you can consider following design for your requirement. This design
would suit you well since you’re not processing the message and just pass it through from source to destination:
Use a custom pipeline component in the Receive Locations which receives the large file.
Stores the received file into disk and creates a small XML metadata message that contains the information about where the large file is stored.
The small XML message is then published into the
    message box db
instead of the large file. Let the metadata file also contain the same context properties as the received file.
In the send port, use another custom pipeline component that process the metadata xml file, retrieve the location of the disk where the file is stored, access the file and send it to destination.
Read the following article on this design..
    http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/180333/Transfer-Large-Files-using-BizTalk-Send-Side
This way you don’t need to publish the whole message into message box DB which would considerably reduce the processing time and utilises host instance to process
more files. This way you can still get the advantages of BizTalk and still process large files.
And regarding your question of restricting the Receive location to handles the number of files from receives location. No it’s not possible.

  • UPC-A barcode without the human readable numbers underneath

    Hello ,
I have a lifecycle designer 8.1 on windows 7 machine, my requirement is to place the UPC-A barcode without the human readable number underneath the bars and with the interspacing between the bars as 0.020.
Is the above requirement feasible and possible, please provide your inputs .
    Thanks in advance.
    Pooja

Hi Pooja, I've done a barcode project before so here's what I know about this topic.
First about the human readable text. This is mandatory according to the GS1 General Specification, so most UPC-A barcode generator tend to automatically add the text to create valid barcode image. If you really need to get rid of it, you might need to process the barcode image further after it have been created. I used this UPC-A creator, if you like you can check it out.
As for the interspacing between the bars, each symbol character consists of two bars and two spaces, each of 1, 2, 3 or 4 modules in width. In other words, find any UPC-A barcode, and you will see it's composed of bars and spaces with four different widths. Most barcode generator can allow you to adjust module width, i.e. the narrowest bar / space. So you can't set each space to 0.020, as they are not equal to each other in the beginning.
Hope this will help. If you there's anything more you need to know, I'd be glad to help.

  • How can I restrict more then one user to access the table?

    Hi !
I have a problem and two solutions and I am a bit confused as to
which one is the best one and/or can there be any better way of
    handling the problem ?
Problem : I have to update a key field of a table when I update
it in the form 5.0 screen. I am basically doing a maintenance of
a table and if a certain field is updated then the change has to
be reflected in two more tables. But the issue is that the field
is a part of the key in those two tables. So all I can think of
is that I need to insert new set or rows for that new value of
the field and delete the old set of records for old values of
    the field.
    There are two ways of doing it;
1.One option can be to explicitely define two cursors separately
and fetch the values in them one by one and then insert the new
records and then delete the old records in both the tables. This
I feel will be a cumbersome process both in terms of processing
    time and the coding.
2.Second option I was thinking can be to create two flat tables
(without keys) and insert the values in them and update the
changed field there and then insert the rows in the respective
tables. Delete the old records in the main tables and delets the
records in these flat tables. This is a bit more faster and
easier to predict and code. This seems to be a better option for
    me.
    Any comments on these ?
In both the cases I was thinking of making some provision so
that more then one person can't update the table simultaneously.
Since if there are more then one persons doing the processing
then some inconsistency might creep into the whole process.
This is easier to do in the second process as if I check the
data in the flat tables and if there is some data then I can
presume that some one is doing the processing and I can ask the
other person to hold for a while. But in this case how can I
stop more then two people to simultaneously check for the empty
table and start inserting the record ?
I was just thinking of having a sepatare table having only one
field and this will be a key field and as the process begins the
process will insert a fix value say 'Y' in the key field and at
the end of the process the record will be deleted and this way
we can restrict the user to access the process more then one at
a time..? Since you can't have same value of the key in a table
    more then once.
Any better way of handling it will be deeply appreciated.
How about locking the table at the begining and releasing the
lock at the end ? Will there be any issue in that? since I am
inserting and deleting the rows in the same transaction.
    Comments welcome,
    Shobhit
    null

How about performing the update IN the database using a stored
    procedure?
By using non-database fields on your form to get the
information, you can then call the procedure in the database to
perform the updates. If an error occurs in the procedure you
rollback, if necessary, and send a message or status back to the
form. If it succeeds you might wish to commit and then re-
execute the form's query -- using either the original key values
    or the new key values...
