Processing Requirement

Sorry for being in this forum but there isn't one for non-product specific topics.
I am trying to calculate the total processing capacity required for our new OLTP system so we can procure the right number of processors.
There use to be an Oracle white paper called "Oracle Database Sizing Approach". I can no longer find this document.
Can u help?

The SAP implementation method described in this entry is a generic method and not a specific implementation method as such. It is based on best practices and case studies from various literature sources and presents a collection of processes and products that make up a complete implementation method to allow any organization to plan and execute the implementation of SAP (ERP) software.

  • Module-specific checklist for business process requirements mapping?

    Hi,
I am looking for some ASAP tools to support the business process requirements mapping phase of an implementation. The best would be to have a checklist, a sheet of questions to ask during the meetings so that each requirements are considered when creating the business processes in solution manager.
Anyone can recommend me such material?
    Thanks in advance,

  • New Business Process Requirement

    Hi All,
I have a new business process requirement from my client.
My Client has their own product which they do normaly sell them and is called product A. Now they are planning for some new products. For this they purchase some WIP materials called product B & C from vendors and assemble them along wth product A. The assembled product which is called D is sold as finished product. this product D consists of product A and product B&C. Now in this type of scenario what should be the planning strategy? And also please let me know how to incorporate the assembling part in the present SAP system?
    Thanks,
    Rinky

    Rinky,
What is the problem?  D is just another finished goods.  Is there something unique about this scenario?
    D BOM = A, B, C
D assembly effort is contained in D routing, the same way you would create a routing for any other FG product.
D strategy is whatever your client wants.  MTS?  MTO?  Forecasted?  You pick the strategy the same way you would pick any other FG planning strategy.
    A you need change nothing
    B you need change nothing
    C you need change nothing
    Am I missing something here?

  • Free goods process requirement

    Hi experts,
My client has a new sales process coming up for which he has the following requirement:
He wants to give free of charge item(Sales promotion kind of) for a certain qty of material ordered.
For Eg: For 10 pieces of Material A he wants to give 1 piece of Material B free of cost.
Is this possible in std SAP?
Also, consider that we have 3 materials A1, A2 & A3 which are material of the same nature but different colour, and hence they have different material codes.
Like the above scenario, is it possible that a sales order of
    Material A1 - 3 pieces
    Material A2-  5 pieces
    Material A3-  2 pieces
will give me a free goods item for 1 piece since the qty sums up to 10.
Can the above requirement be configured in SAP??
Please help with your valuable inputs and suggestions in std SAP.
    Regards,
    Amit

    Hi,
You can do that.....I have not tried but I think it will work
For this you have to create one material group for all such material having similar features and add this material group in all these material master so that all such material will have one single material group
    Now,
Go to path SPRO - Sales n Distr. - Basic Functions - Free Goods
    1. Add material group field from maintain field catalogue in IMG screen
    2. create new Condition table and add this material group field plus any other field that you want like Sales area or customer as key combination
    3. Add this condition table in Access seq. NA00 or creeate new access seq. for the combination eg. Material group / Customer
    4. Assign this access seq. to condition type NA00 in Maintain condition types
    5. Put this condition type NA00 in pricing procedure for free goods
    6. Finallay activate this procedure for the combination of Sales Area  + Cust. pric. proc + Doc . pric proc
Create condition records for free goods in VBN1
In cond. record give min qty as 10 so that all the materials that have similar material group will be accumulated and give free goods qty as you want
    Hope you get some inputs

  • SD Process Required to Configure

    Hello Experts,
I have small requirement which i need to show the Demo to my Client.Below is the client requirement but i am quite confuse how to start and which plant which sales org shud i create. If i create 3rd party but the below requirement requires delivery.
Could you all plz suggest what process should i follow to suit the below requirement.
The process starts with buying of designs from your extended designer team. The models are first converted into Prototype which are then placed in your show room. Prospective buyers are invited to view the prototype. Buyers can place 3 types of order
    1.    Firm Order u2013 Order which are meant for their Show room in turn
    2.    End Customer Order which are placed by end customer at the retail stores.
    3.    Promotion Model (Festive Season) order which are order placed by buyers for promotional period.
You have 2 manufacturing units in Indonesia and Thailand
Malaysia office is corporate office which has sales team to book order and Procurement division to follow though Purchase orders raised by Procurement team sitting in Manufacturing locations.
Model could have add-ons like pillows and Stools which are for made for the particular sofa.
The sales order should allow to have Product configurator which allow selection based on characteristics of material and also on location of customer e.g. for Singapore Customers the selection of foam should be type A and Type B but for India customers it should be Type C and Type D.
The pricing of customer should be Customer specific and not generic price list.
The Malaysia office would book the order and internally place a PO on Manufacturing plant which details the address of the end customer in case the customer is International. The goods would be delivered from Plant to the end customer and Malaysia office would be responsible for generation of Invoice and other shipping documents without actual receipt of the material.
    Kindly advice.
    Thanks
    Shri..

Also to add, you have three things here:
    1. Mayasyia Corporate Office
    2. Thailand PLant
    3. Indonesia PLant.
Now If Malasyia is the Corporate Office (which will generate Invoice) then It will have a unique Company in Malasyia & the Plants in Thailand & Indonesia will have their own Company Codes.
If the above is the case, then you have to configure Inter Company Sales scenario in SAP SD.
If the above is not the case & Malasyia is just a Sales Office & Invoice will be create by the Company codes of Respective Plants, then it is a normal Sales scenario in SAP.
It means Malasyia Sales Office will just create a Sales Order for Thailand (or Indonesia) Plant & subsequently Thailand plant will create Delivery & Invoice. Thus no third party or Intercomapany scenario is required here.
    Hope this clarifies.
    Thanks,
    JIgnesh Mehta

  • Cup Approval process requires multiple hits of the APPROVE button

    Hello GRC CUP folks,
We have an approval process wherein a given request can require 4 levels of approvals to be provisioned.  When a manager logs in to CUP, and tries to approve a request, she hits the APPROVE button, then the yellow status bar appears, showing the approval status so far for this request.  And she has to hit the APPROVE button again.  Then the yellow status for this current stage turns green and the workflow proceeds to the next stage.  It is getting back to me that the managers are having trouble understanding and remembering that they have to hit the APPROVE button more than once (even though we added text to that effect in the approval email).
Is there some way to get the approval to process to the next stage with only one push of the APPROVE button?
    Thanks for your ideas.
    Yvonne

    Hi Yvonne,
Please go to config -> workflow -> stage -> go to change mode for Manager stage.
Make sure that, 'Display Review Screen', 'Comments Mandatory' and 'Confirm Approval' are set to 'NO'. This will make sure that as soon as Manager hits Approve button, the request would be approved.

  • Auto creation of time based inspection points against in process required

    Hi
We want system to create/generate inspection points automatically when process order is released and inspection lot is created. Currently we have to create inspection point manually using either QE71 or QE11. Previously when scheduling was active in PP, inspection points had been creating automatically for the duration of process order. But now PP scheduling is not required and as a results inspection points are not being created automatically.
    Please assist.
    regards
    Chris

SAP provides a FM, (QAPP_CUST_IP_CREATE), to be used as a template to create your own FM for automatically creating inspection points.  There is documentation in the FM to explain it.  You then assign this FM in configuration where you define the inspeciton point identifiers.

    Hi
         Results analysis version:
Check RA Versions T.code:OKG2-Multiple valuation field
If you are operating in different countries or want to carry out results analysis for different business purposes, you can define multiple results analysis versions. You can then carry out results analysis using the different versions.
The results analysis data is updated to the objects by version and can be analyzed in the information system.
Create different RA Version for profit center valuation and Group valuation.

  • Album Art processing requirements

Could someone please outline what qualifiers iTunes requires to automatically update the album art for a song. When I select some songs, the correct album cover displays in the "from the store" box in the bottom pane... however, when request for album art to be updates for the same song, it does not process and find the art.
I am assuming that some of my information about the song is not listed correctly for the song. I check the exact title / artist against what is listed in the store... they are identical.
How can I create the exact parameters that iTunes needs to get the art to process?
