Product ownership

I am doing a lot of opportunity-product history reporting using custom fields in the 'Owned by User' section to add extra information about the opportunity owner
In the opportunity-product history the Owned by User relates to the product owner and not the opportunity owner. This is fine when specific products have been created by the user but I am having big problems where no products have been specified yet.
Unlike other posts here I want to report opportunities with 'Unspecified' products
My reports are going wrong where the 'owner' of the Unspecified' product does not agree with the opportunity owner
My tests suggest the person who created the opportunity is not automatically the owner of the Unspecified product
Does anyone know HOW CRM on Demand decides who the owner of the Unspecified Product should be?
So far I have reviewed over 100 opportunity records and it is definitely not always teh person who created the opportunity. There seems to be a link with opportunity and account teams but nothing I can put my finger on....

Thanks Tim
The reports contain custom fields in the 'Owned by User' section. Its not a case of displaying the owner but extra information about the owner
We need to understand how the ownership is assigned or how to change ownership of the Unspecified product
Best wishes
Richard

@ Onepamopa - thank you for voicing out. I really thought I was one unlucky customer and one of a few to experience such inconvenience and distress over a product and design that Lenovo took pride in. I too have spent 1 month trying to solve the problems with a brand new Lenovo Yoga Pro 3. I am now using laptop number four of the same model in 1 month, a proof of my blind faith in this product and increasing disillusionment....and deludedness... I was already advised by friends and colleagues, after laptop 1 that I should perhaps change brands... Objectively speaking, the after sales service i.e. technical and service support were very helpful, however, when purchasing a brand new product you wouldn't think you'd have problems already from hour 1. Front line and customer service attitude were less than professional and frankly quite rude. I was lucky that I'd purchased through a retailer...otherwise my brand new laptop would be out of the shop and sent straight to repair. @ Limpaar - also thank you for sharing your point. I thought it was great when this assessment came out (though also somewhat ironic)... that there was a channel where I could communicate with Lenovo...where customers' views would be valued and heard... I then was filtered out on the second page and that was the end of that... Is there a Lenovo representative online? I'm not one to cry online without first assessing and taking alternative steps to solve the problem...I have been co-operating and I'd say pretty patient...  Lenovo.... where are you?... I have a need to supply a guest network, ideally without introducing additional APs. I have APs that can have additional SSIDs with their own VLANs. I have a router that is not VLAN-aware, but has two physical ports, one of which is for the corp network and the other for the guest (the router ports are isolated). Everything connects through a switch that is VLAN-aware.
What I'd like to be able to do, is connect both ports from the router to the switch, and configure so that VLAN2 can only communicate to the guest port on the router. And the default VLAN (VLAN1) can only communicate to the default VLAN ports on the switch.A picture is worth a lot more:DLink switch is a DGS-1210-24.I'm getting confused between VID, PVID, 'tagged', 'untagged', and 'not a member', and asymmetrical/symmetrical VLANs.

  • I bought an I-Pod at a pawn shop. Using it for yrs

I bought an I-Pod at a pawn shop. Used it for yrs and purchased music through my I-Tunes account. I recently failed to answer security question correctly. Can't remember how I originally submitted the answer (been a long time ago..) Anyhow, I just want to contine to purchase music, but was locked out. When I contacted Apple tech, Michael, he wanted a device number. I don't have a device number, that I'm aware of, since I'm not the original owner of the I-Pod. Michael refered me to Senior Apple tech, Jonathan, who began our conversation by saying: "I won't be able to do anything different for you than what Michael did..." Really? Not a good opening thesis statement from a customer service rep. I would think they could verify my identity by checking my account history and give me an oportunity to reset or change my security question. I'm trying to do the right thing here, but they're making it difficult...

Use the Contact iTunes Support link here:
    http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/
Even with a valid serial number you would not qualify for telephone support. That is provided to AppleCare users or a complimentary one-incident support call during the first 90 days of product ownership for the original purchaser. It ought to be possible for the support techs to explain this much before referring you to web or forum based support...

  • Ipod classic stuck in recovery mode

hello, i have an iPod Classic 120 GB, i noticed recently it was stuttering and freezing a few seconds every now and again in the menus so i decided to reset it by holding menu+select. it reset but when it came back on it asked me to pick a language, i picked english and all my content was gone, much like during a restore. when i got home i plugged it into iTunes, got an error message that said it had to be restored, after restoring it went into recovery mode so of course i got the message it was in recovery mode and had to restored. i have tried restoring a few more times but it keeps going into recovery mode and thats where it still is. i read somewhere about enabling disk mode  after a restore and dragging certain files onto the ipod to make it work again, this sounds to me like basically a manual restore, i never got the chance to try it as the files were hosted on a mediafire link that is no longer active. I am simply wondering if anyone has heard of this, where/how i can do it, or any other way to get past this never ending cycle. I have it enabled in disk mode and i want to go poke around at the files but it only shows up in iTunes and not on my sidebar under devices (I still run OS X Leopard 10.5.8) Any other way to access the files? thank you!

You can ring them up but be aware that if you haven't got AppleCare and you've had your iPod for more than 90 days you'll be charged for technical support. You only receive one complimentary support incident, which must be used within the first 90 days of product ownership: Contact Apple Support

  • Missing required files (cannot run iTunes)

Hey guys, every time I finish installing iTunes and try to open it, I get an error saying "iTunes cannot run because some of its required files are missing. Please reinstall iTunes"
I've un-install/re-installed/fixed iTunes but the same error message appears whenever I try to access iTunes (as a result of iTunes not being able to work, iPod acts like a regular flash drive; i.e. plug in, and it'll open folder, not iTunes)
I've tried looking around for some sort of quick fix, but nothing covers my situation (and I've tried other fixes not for my particular case, but they don't work either)
    Any help/input is appreciated.

This is kind of irritating; is there a proper support center or something whom I could contact and get feedback on this issue?
Your iPod allows you "one complimentary support incident, which must be used within the first 90 days of product ownership." You say you've had your iPod for a month but I'd suggest you hold off using the freebie for a little while and see if we can figure something out here. For a couple of reasons: One, you'll have the complimentary incident available for another couple of months ... just in case ... and two, I don't know if they'd come up with a solution right off the bat.
For the time being can you try running just QuickTime - which iTunes make use of in doing its job - on your computer and let us know how that goes. If it fails to start, report any error messages you get.
Also, you might want to run through the General Installation Troubleshooting section of this article in the Apple Knowledge Base.

  • Acrobat XI will not accept my serial number

I've just spent 2 hours with tech support and they cut me off without finishing adressing the issue (in addition to being told Acrobat XI doesn't come with the Cloud). I have installed Acrobat XI from the Application Manager. When I launch Acrobat it first gives me a trial screen (we own the full Creative Cloud service and have for months). When I select the License button, I get the "You don't have an active internet connection" (which I do). If I then choose to Enter Serial Number and enter the number we have for our CC, I get a message that the number is not valid for Acrobat XI Pro - and that's as far as I can go.
Any help here would be great.

Acrobat XI is included with Creative Cloud and as John mentioned, is tied to your Adobe ID (Creative Cloud doesn't use a serial numbers). There is a serial number associated with your Creative Cloud membership (that appears under registered products) but it is not used for installation only registration/product ownership. Acrobat only supports having a single version installed (excluding reader) and should be installed through Adobe Application Manager, generally previous versions get uninstalled for you automatically. There was an issue with licensing and Acrobat X (not XI) that resulted in having to de-activate and re-activate another CS6 product (often would show a 130:11 error) but I haven't continued to see similar reports with XI.

  • X240, T440 case design frustrations

It is difficult to sum up the frustration in dealing with this new X240 and T440 case design.  I can't believe I am no longer able to swap a hard drive or update memory without taking apart the case.  Replacing the keyboard is next to impossible where it used to take about 5-10 minutes on older models.
Yes, I realize this is a statement and not a question.  I hope the X250 and T450 have incorporated some of the older design features that made it easier to swap parts.
I will give Lenovo credit with the internal battery.  It is a very cool feature to be able to swap a battery on the fly.

  • Photoshop 6.0 registration

    I have purchased a used Photoshop 6.0.
When I tried to register it I was told that the serial number had already been used.  I assume that the product that I purchased, which is used, has been registered by the previous owner.  How do I go about registering it in my name?

    Hi,
The original owner has to initiate a transfer of license in order to have the product ownership transferred to your name.
This document contains information on the same: Transfer an Adobe product license

  • Can't wake up after sleep

I bought a Macbook (15-inch, Late 2011) at Amazon on April 26, 2012, and I made it to be my primary laptop.
The Laptop is wonderful but sometimes I got a problem. After finishing the work I will turn my Macbook into sleep by pressing the sleep button under the top-left apple menu. However, the next day I found I have no way to wake it up, neither the keyboard nor the mouse would work. Even the power button fails to wake up my Macbook. Unless I force the Macbook shut down by long pressing the power button, and restart it again.
Such situation happened to my Macbook many times when it was fully charged. The problem is quite annoying and discouraging. Is it the common problem of Macbooks? And how can I deal with the problem?
    Thank you.
