Production - Multiple Bills of Material for a FG Product

Hi,
In SAP B1 - It is not possible to create multiple Bills of Materials for a FG product.
Is there any workaround to address this issue?
At our location we have multiple alternative combinations of components which can be used to create the same FG product.
One alternative is to create Special Production Orders (but with no BOM). Is there a better option?

HI  Manish,
Your Bill of material is dynamic so just try to solve this by alternative items(Raw Material). i hope it will work.
But in SAP B1 standard there is no work arround. you have to change the BIll of material every time. or make one udf in the title level with the name version 1,2,3 ..... and save it in the system. and pick the BOM which you will needed at the time of Production.
I hope it will solve your question.

    Hi Sukumar,
You can do by applying user exit.
Use PPCO0007 - Exit when saving production order.
    Function module - EXIT_SAPLCOZV_001.
    Include Program - ZXCO1U06
    Write your Code:

  • Hide all the components in bill of material for all the transaction

    Hi experts
I have requirement where my client does not want to share the bill of material details across the organisation. Hence they would not like to see bill of materials components details for particular set of materials.
Also, when any material documents or any other related transctions are posted in those production order, they want that only authorized user should view those components of BOM.
Please help me in this regards
Let me know if my question is unclear.
    Thanks

yes.. particular set means a group of materials but they do not have a common material group assigned to them in the material master.
And as you mention, i need to do something in the mentioned transaction. How to do that..
because there should not be any loop holes for any users to get the information to identify BOM.

  • Stop Multiple Billing Docs generation  for multiple confirmations ,

    Hello Experts,
We have implemented the SAP CRM service module.
We are creating the gollowup  Service Confirmations for the Service Process.
Some times we are facing the problem with Billing Doc generation for Service Confirmations in CRM system.
We are using the colletive Billing process and it runs evry night.
    The Probelm :
One Service Process has multiple confirmations and the collective billing process creates the Billing Doc for each and every Confirmations.
Our general process, is only one Billing Doc should be generated for all the confirmations.
I am not understading ,why the system is generating the multiple Billing Docs for multiple confirmations.
Please If any body has any suggestion, please provide.
    Regards
    Madhu

    Hello Madhu,
Are all your confirmations exactly same?
One billing document will be created only when all the fields (mentioned below) are same -
    1. header fields
    - Billing type
    - Billing unit
    - Payer
    - Collective run identifier (GUID)
    - Terms of payment
    - Billing date
    - Value date (is set to the billing date by default)
    - Document currency
    - Reference currency
    - Incoterms part 1
    - Incoterms part 2
    - Split criterion
    - Reference number
    - Pricing procedure of pricing
    2. header partner. partners must even have same address.
To analyze the cause of split, use the 'Display split analysis' function in the display of the billing list.
    Hope this reply helps.

  • DRQ : Warehouse Name in Bill of Material for Finished Product

    Hi
The Warehouse Name is missing in the drop-down list in the header level of BOM.  It is very difficult to select the Warehouse from drop-down, if there are too many Warehouse.  Or other way to provide a Select from List functionality for Warehouse selection (as it is in the row level).
Or is there any other alternatives?
My request is to specifically SAP Team and I would glad to see a response.

  • Can I use the fields Product allocation and Basic material for bifurcation of material

    Dear Users,
We have a requirement for bifurcation of material so we need two field in material master for fulfilling the requirement. First requirement is material category like insurance or revenue etc., second requirement is department wise like electrical, maintenance etc, so i have choosen the fields 'Product allocation' in basic data 1 screen in material master for fulfilling department requirement and then in basic data 2 i have choosen 'Basic Material' field for fulfilling material category requirement. My doubt is whether this change will effect the reports and i need to know the effects of such changes.
    Thanks,
    Manoj

As you are trying to use the standard fields, so you can read the F1 help for these fields.
Also check in which table and program, the fields are used.
Read the F1 help and find the table and program by using this document How to find Table name for a Field which is shown structure name on press F1.
After reading this, If these fields are suitable for your requirement, then you can continue.

  • Bill of material for goods receipt

    Hi
we have created one BOM which contains some components. when we create  a po & as well as receive the material w.r.t P.o the system is only accepts the main (parent mat) material not its components. Is there any way to receive at a time for parent as well as compnents.

    Hi
If you create a normal p.o you cannot explode BOM, only you can explode the BOM in the subcontracting process. if you enter the item category L and explode the BOM means you will get the components.
But in normal p.o you wont getit.

  • Material for Project Based Production

    Dear All,
I have to work on project based production can any one refer me some links or even the code of manual if any so i can purchase it. or any book. plz i  waiting for a reply soon

You need to ask a few questions first.
Are finished items, semi-finished items and purchased items to be assigned to different WBS/networks?
Are semi-finished items and purchased items going through stock or directly assigned to WBS/network/production order?
How do you wish to manage the finished items, semi-finished items and purchased stock for the project, i.e. unrestricted stock (typically moving average price for purchased and standard price for manufactured), project stock (i.e. against individual WBS/network or common WBS)
Where do your production and purchasing variances go?  Purchasing variances are only an issue if you are using standard prices.
Considering how you wish to treat your stock is the most important issue for project manufacturing.

  • Complete product list in ICSS catalog for Reference Objects:Products

In my current scenario, I have products that belong to different sales areas and while I create a catalog, I have created different variants for different sales area and assigned the products accordingly.
The problem is, in the catalog usage (SPRO->CRM->Web Channel->e-service->catalog usage), I can create 1 catalog indicator corresponding to only 1 catalog variant and the same indicator I am giving in the XCM for ICSS catalogs. The problem is, as different variants have different products, the user would never be able to see the complete list of products but can only see the products belonging to 1 variant (whose indicator I have given in the XCM). The expectation is that the user should be able to see all the products (irrespective of the sales area ) in the Reference Object field (ICSS catalog).
    I tried different combinations like-
1.Creating catalog views and assigning BPs. There is no option though of assigning a view in ICSS catalog
2.Giving all the indicators in XCM separated by u2018,u2019. I was hoping that the string would be read with a delimiter in the code.
3.Only giving the catalog name while creating the indicator in SPRO (Variant is not a mandatory option there). This resulted in runtime errors on the UI when I tried to access the catalog
Can anyone suggest how we might be able to achieve this without any code enhancement?

    Hi,
Checked the values in the Visual Admin -> Trex Service--> nameserver.address value is filled with the host name and port number
But no nameserver.backupserverlist is maintained  . If it required should i give the same server details of the above property ei "namserver.add*"
And also i found that in the Tcode SES_ADMIN , everything is blank and also in the ICSS/B2C/ADMIN portal . the Catalog Cache Statistics is blank, there is no Key or Catalogue Guid is present
Please suggest me where to check now again .

  • Structure List for a Service Product ?

    Hi,
If I maintain a Bill of Material for a Service Product, is it possible to view its components in the 'Structure List' of the Service Order ?
Situation is: Each Service Product represent a "Level of Repair" and only specific components are associated with that Service Product though the Serviceable Material may have several components (BOM).
Or how else can I associate allowable components to Service Product ?
    Thanks.
    Raj

    Hello Janakiraman,
Generally for configuration , you cannot update the configuraton directly . There are no bapis in VC to do so. you have to update the configuration data via the Object itself. Service orders are objects with type PMSDO. There is unfortunately no bapi that will update configuration directly. I checked BAPI_ALM_ORDER_MAINTAIN but that doesnot have any input data for configuration. Configuration is stored via unique number PMSDO-CUOBJ. You can then take this value and check the data in txn CUTABLEINFO. Instance = CUOBJ in CUTABLEINFO.  You will find the object key and number in this transaction .Eg
    INSTANCE           OBJECT-OBJECT_TYPE OBJECT-OBJECT_KEY
    000000000000203448 PMSDO              OR000004032826
To maintain the data , you can check to enhance this BAPI , Otherwise best way is to get the CUOBJ number and use VC function modules to update.
But you will neeed to create a Z program to do. You can find all the VC function as mentioned in the thread above.
    Thanks

  • C2 223 A valid bill of material could not be found for material 5089

    Hi Experts
I have Production orders that use a phantom material 63955 with Std costing control.  This material uses three materials (5089,5233 & 5235) of moving average control.
Material 63955 is a HALB and uses all the numbers 5089,5233 and 5235 which are ROH.
With costing material 63955 with CK11N or CK40N, the error is
C2223 A valid bill of material could not be found for material 5089 and the same for 5233 and 5235
    Diagnosis
Material 5233 is marked as a phantom assembly. When the system tried to explode a valid bill of material for material 5233, it could not find one.
    System Response
The system generates a normal reservation for 5233.
    Procedure
Check the bill of material for material 5233
The 5* numbers do not have a bill of material and are purchased externally.
What must I do now please?  These materials cannot be costed.
    Kind regards
    Dawn

    Hi..
You  check whether material 5233 have procurement type ‘E’ or ‘X’ and
special procurement type ‘50’ in MRP2 view of Material master.
Material 5233 with the above conditions is Phantom assembly.
If Material 5233 is material master for external purchasing, Material 5233
should have procurement type ‘F’ and special procurement type  space.

  • A valid bill of material could not be found for material

    Hi,
Our's is SAP release 605. While doing sales order cost estimate (CK51N) we are getting following error message:
A valid bill of material could not be found for material 1000000012
    Message no. C2223
    Diagnosis
Material 1000000012 is marked as a phantom assembly. When the system tried to explode a valid bill of material for material 1000000012, it could not find one.
    System Response
The system generates a normal reservation for 1000000012.
    Procedure
Check the bill of material for material 1000000012.
We have checked BOM and everything seems correct. please suggest where I am doing mistake.
    Regards,
    Bijay

    Dear Bijay kumar,
Material 1000000012 is marked as a phantom assembly,so it must be set with a procurement Type E and special procurement
type 50 in the MRP2 view of the material master or else at BOM level. So as a standard behaviour the system is expecting a
BOM for the phantom assembly 1000000012.Check in T.Code CS03 whether you are able to find the BOM components for this
material 1000000012.If BOM is not found means you have to create a BOM for this pahantom assembly because during the GI
for the main assembly/product the system consumes the components of the pahantom assembly and not the phantom assembly
(as in general there wont be any stock maintained for this material 1000000012).
So check with this and revert back.

  • Explode Bill of Material on Purchase Order

When we create a standard NB purchase order, we would like to explode a bill of material for the 1 finished goods material and create MRP requirements for the warranty materials on the BOM.  Basically, we want a requirement there so we can create a PO for these warranty materials.  We have looked at subcontracting, but we are not wanting to supply these materials to a subcontractor we just want to purchase them from a vendor and bring them into our inventory.
We realize that we can explode the BOM if we start with a planned order.  However on alot of occasions we skip over the planned orders and purchase requisitions and manually create the PO.
Does anyone know of a process to explode the BOM from the PO? or maybe a user exit on the PO that would allow us to do this.
We are currently on version SAP 4.6C.
    Thanks,
    Mark

    Hi James,
As you rightly mentioned, the purpose of a BOM is to contain a list of materials. To create
    a sales BOM. use T.code CS01.
Here you give the usage as 5 - indicates sales and distribution as there can be production boms also with a different usage.
After you enter inside give the components that make up your main material, say music system containing
    Itemcat          material               Qty
    l               2 mt wires                2
    l               speaker                   2
    so on, then save it.
For each of these you should have a material master created. For the main item ie., music system select the item category group as " ERLA " for header level pricing and
" LUMF " for item level pricing.
Maintain item category determinations in VOV4 as
    <b>For item category group ERLA</b>
    OR + ERLA                         -
    >  TAQ ( Header level pricing )
    OR + Norm +     + TAQ (higher level item cat ) -
    > TAE
    <b>For item category group LUMF</b>
    OR + LUMF                         -
    >  TAP ( Item level pricing )
    OR + Norm +     + TAP (higher level item cat ) -
    > TAN
This will setup the scenario you wanted. Now when enter music system in sales order with "  1 " quantity it will explode as
    2 wires
    2 speaker
as was the component quantity mentioned in CS01.
Hope it helps. Please reward if useful.
    Thanks & Regards
    Sadhu Kishore
