Production Print ES

I am using watcehd folder mechanism for stream serv on windows.
Description of Workflow
1) Production Print will take 3 different file types as input. These types are the following:
1.1) A PDF that is the primary content of the print job
1.2) A XML file that contains all the recipient addresses and printer configuration details
1.3) A XDP that will generate a PDF configured with the recipients' mailing address from the XML file in 1.2 (Similar to a cover letter)
2) Business rules:
2.1) Production Print must create a new PDF using the XML and XDP which will have a recipient address in the top left corner.
2.2) If there are X number of recipients then Production Print should create X PDFs with 1 recipient per PDF.
2.3) Each generated PDF must append the PDF from 1.1
2.4) Each combined PDF from 2.3 should be printed.
2.5) According to a specific parameter in the XML, there are cases where only 1 copy of the generated PDF should be printed in contrast to 2.2
Please help me on various steps invloved for developing the above work flow.

Here's one approach:
A. Read the PDF (1.1) using PDFIN and store it in the post processor repository.
B. Read the XML (1.2) and merge it with the XDP (1.3) (one per recient according to 2.2)
C. Store the result of B in the post processor repository. Create metadata regarding recipient and number of generate a ppq (post processor query)
D. Read the ppq and merge the result of A and C (once per recipient)
E Format the result of D in an appropriate printer language and print.
F 2.5 can be implemented using a script in C.
The trick is as you can see to use the post processor repository to merge the content of the PDF (read once) with the output of the XML/XDP merge (several) asynchronously. This is a pretty common scenario for LCPP.
Hope this helps.

  • Apple product printer for mac os system 7.6.1

I misstated my question. I wish to know what apple product printer will work with a mac os, system 7.6.1. I need to know precisely which model(s) will work as I need to purchase one, probably off the internet. Thanks for your help!
os   Mac OS 8.6 or Earlier   system 7.6.1

    Sandpointl,
Our first laser printer was a personal laserwriter NT and we printed 8000 documents with our first toner cartridge. If you do not need color, laser is the way to go. The newer printers, like the laserwriter select, are great. University surplus sales are a great source. The last six printers were $35 or less. The untested 'as is' printers being auctioned off as a lot were $2.50. Goodwill also has printers from time to time.
The toner cartridge might cost you $25 to $75. If you want to use the older computers, you have to be willing to shop at older shops or recyling stores.
This site gives a nice summary of printers from that day.
    http://www.sunrem.com/specifications/printers2.html
All work with an Imagewriter cable. Print the list and carry it in the car. If you happen onto one of those printers, make a test print - I carry a laptop on serious shopping trips.
If you just want to buy retail and have it work, upgrading your computer will be cheaper. If you do not mind bargain hunting, older printers are a dime a dozen.

  • Form Events supported by LiveCycle Production Print

Here's some information that didn't make it into the documentation for the latest release (LiveCycle Production Print ES Update 1, aka 8.2, aka Persuasion SP4).
The following XFA events are supported:
    initialize
    calculate
    validate
    indexChange
    formReady
    preprint
    layoutReady
Due to differences in the event model between LiveCycle Output and Production Print, some scripts that are executed correctly for the formReady or layoutReady events in Output will only work with preprint in Production Print.
I'd be very interested to hear of anyone's experiences with differences in the event model between LCPP and LC Output.

    Tulasi,
May be you can approach it this way
create a ztable with fields matnr and graphic object(check STXBITMAPS table for the attributes of this field) and upload the drawings against every material. Now you will have a table containing the matnr and the corresponding drawing in the table which can be used for further  processing.
Hope  any of the SDN experts here will suggest a better solution.
    Kiran.

  • Feature comparison chart of LC Output vs LC Production Print?

Does anyone have a feature comparison chart of LC Output vs LC Production Print they can share with me?  If any competitive products are included in the comparison that would be nice.

  • Production Print installation files

can anyone explain me where I can find Production Print installation?
I supposed it was a ES2 component, but isn't on Configuration Manager components list.
    thanks

Production Print is a separate install from LC ES/LC ES2 so it does not appear in Configuration Manager.

  • No of print labels based on Product (printing of shopfloor paper)

Requirement is to print labels during the confirmation of production orders. Number of print labels is
determined based on the Finished Good product. For example
Finished Good A --> 1 print label for production order confirmation of 1 unit
Finished Good B --> 2 print labels for production order confirmation of 1 unit
like wise,Finished Good Z --> 10 print labels for production order confirmation of 1 unit
How could we achieve this, what configuration in print shop floor paper needs to be done.
    ===========================================================================================
Note:Labels are printed, but defaulting to 1 print label during production order confirmation
            regardless of finished Product.

    Hi Aprasada,
You can modify the print program as Abhijit said.
Or if you condsider the option of adding a little bit to your work without going for program changes, after the first print you may go to the spool controller, select the printed label and in the option to print with changed parameters change the number of copies to your desired level.

  • Pallet sheet for finished products printed in the not expected printer

    Hello to all,
I have an issue right now with a user printing pallet sheet for finished products in Z602 printer.  The user wanted it to be printed in printer Z630.  I have checked transaction SU01 and found that the output device assigned to the user is Z630.
What would be the cause of the documents coming out in Z602?
Just to add, the user print the document via transaction CO02, if the person needs more palette sheet then he prints by transaction LT01, and LT16 is just to cancel.
    Many thanks.

    Hi Patvin,
You can try using T.code Co04 and after giving parameter got to Print and do print setting.
If it solve reward and close this issue
    Thanks

  • Multifunction production printer recommendations

We're an architects practice looking at getting a new multifunction printer.
Currently we have the Canon CLC 4040 with Fiery controller:
    http://www.canon.co.uk/for_work/products/professional_print/digital_colour_produ ction/CLC4040/
And we're being pushed the Ricoh MP C4501 with Fiery controller:
    http://ricoh.co.uk/products/multifunction-printers/multifunction-colour/aficiomp -c4501.aspx
What are others using out there at the moment? Any recommendations? Anyone using the Ricoh MP C4501?
One thing that bugs me about Fiery controllers is that the drivers aren't integrated into the Mac printer interface very well, so a production quality machine without a Fiery controller would interest us.

    Hello Christiaan,
    With regards to the Fiery controller, EFI have just released the Fiery Express Driver to support printing from Lion. This driver has reduced printer functions such as;
    Duplex – allows the automatic printing of a sheet of paper on both sides;
    Staple – turns stapling on/off;
Output Paper Size – allows selection of different paper sizes from a list. The supported paper sizes are:
    Letter – 8.5x11
    Legal – 8.5x14
    Tabloid – 11x17
    12x18
    13x19
    A5
    A4
    A3
    SRA3
Color Mode - The different native colour models supported for printing are:
    CMY—Cyan-magenta-yellow colour model.
    CMYK—Cyan-magenta-yellow-black colour model.
    RGB—Red-green-blue colour model.
    Gray—Gray-scale colour model.
Composite Overprint - All colours used for data are overlaid and printed on one plate so you can check the finished result without separating the colours.
They also state that "for users who want to print using Fiery features they should print to the Fiery “Held” queue then use Command WorkStation 5.x to edit the Job Properties."
Also, with regards to internal print controller vs the Fiery, what you have to understand is that the Fiery is a dedicated print controller. It has no other task but to process spooled print jobs. But the internal print board of a copier has to share its processes with other functions, even if these functions are not being used. So in my experience I have not seen an internal printer board that processes faster than a Fiery. But that experience is based on desktop publishing. I've no experience with supporting architectural applications.
Sorry about the indented bulleted paper and colour mode lists. In the Full Text Editor they look correct but change back to one level when saved.

  • My Adobe products are not printing anymore,-

    …neither Illustrator nor Acrobat.
    Hallo guys,
I'm using CS5 and my printer ist a Brother 2035. Since yesterday none of my adobe products print anymore.
My system is the mac lion 10.7.2. Everything is up to date.
I get no error message. It appears like the job was sent to the printer, but nothing happens.
The preview and text programs from apple are still functioning.
Did anyone have this problem before?
Thanks a lot for any help!
    ps.: Indesign works!

Reevep9735585 are you using the registered serial numbers listed at http://www.adobe.com/?  You can find more details on how to locate your registered serial number at http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/find-serial-number.html.
If you are using your registered serial number then how did you reinstall the software?  Also which operating system are you using?

  • Print quote - right way?

I need to put together a quote for a job which will involve design/production/printing.
The print part of the job may just be 4 colour - text, shapes, photos, diags.  But it's possible that the client wants to use Pantones for the 5 sections of the booklet, so 4col plus 5 Pantones. All would be on recycled uncoated stock.  Copies would be one of 25k/50k/80k.
Is it worth doing it like that?  Or will it cost a fortune?
What would be the alternative?  Would it be cheaper to use 4col instead of 4col+5 Pantones?  Would I be able to get CMYK values to print close to the Pantones to keep the costs down?
Also I'm very aware that this quote is not just one single option, rather multiple.  The client wants either 28pp or 32pp, and with all the possible quantities that represents a fair bit of work for the Print bureau to put a quote together - about 12 options, I think.  Are bureaux usually OK with doing that many options for a quote?  Are am I going to get some attitude?
    Any comments/advice much appreciated.  Thanks.

Try to get as many of those questions answered before you proceed. The colour option is probably one you'll only be able to answer with a quote, so leave that one. You have probably not asked for many quotes, given your questions, so you probably don't have a go-to printer or a strong relationship with any sales people at a print shop. That, plus all the options you'd want, will likely make your RFQ (request for quote) a low priority. Are you the designer? If so, take charge of some of the job and pick the stock. That will narrow the options.
Has a printer already been contracted, or has the client specified a printer? If so, then you should get a quote from that printer. If not, then shop it around, but also make sure you are getting a quote, not an estimate.
Ask for the numbers both ways, and remember to hold back a few dozen copies for yourself. Also be clear with the printer how many colours are needed on press. It sounds like each section is CMYK+1, with five sections. Make that clear, or they might think you are asking for nine plates per page. Binding, too is important. 28 or 32 pages will probably be saddle stitched, but specify whatever it will be. Is the cover a separate stock? Try to be as thorough as possible, including if you require a press check or press proofs and how the files will be provided. Don't beat your brains out, though. The printer has prepared thousands of quotes and doubless been burned more than once for missing some vital detail. If you miss anything important, they'll ask.
I much prefer letting the printer bill the client and adding my effort as simple logistics in billing the job. If you're the printer's client and you're billing your client for the printing then you have to decide how to mark up the job. One way (which I consider sleazy) is to opaquely bill for a larger amount and pocket the difference, never revealing the true amount. The client may never know how much you really paid for the printing and thus how much you marked it up, but I think it's not as honest as the alternative. The alternative is to mark up the printing my a small percentage or add a flat markup and include the true printing cost in your bill, even including a copy of the invoice.

  • Using my US purchased printer in Europe ... ?

    Hello all-
I have a HP Color Laserjet CP2025n that I bought a while back, and it works great. So much so that I elected to take it with me when I moved to Spain this past summer. Before moving, I checked on the HP website and noticed that the specs claim this model will work with both 110 and 220v power sources. (See specs here: http://www.shopping.hp.com/product/printer/LaserJet/1/storefronts/CB494A%2523ABA - Select the "Specs" tab and then scroll down the page and select "PDF Version of all Specs".)
However, I am here now trying to hook up the printer and getting nowhere. Won't even power up, and the back of the printer itself only says that it will handle 120-127v of power. Did I just get hoodwinked? Is there some kind of switch I need to flip to make this work?
    Welcome any responses...

Bumping this thread up and hoping that one of the HP Experts will take a look.
After a bunch more investigation, I discovered that HP printers like my LJ CP2025n are not 110 - 240v compatible. Instead, there is a US model that runs on the 110 - 120v range, and a seperate Europen model that runs on the 200 -240v. So for someone like myself that has just moved from the States to Europe, it's frustrating that I have to buy either a voltage converter or a new printer.
As a technologist, I would be interested to know why HP can't just make their printers 110 - 240v compatible to buffer for this problem, or at least provide a physical switch to alter the voltage handling like a lot of desktop computers (Dell) have. I mean, if Apple can make their smallest iPod adapters 110 - 240v compatible, then what is the technological barrier to making a printer work the same way?

  • Wireless and network printing transcript for Meet the Experts

On March 16th, HP hosted its first online chat event on wireless and network printing. Below is a transcript of that session.
I am in the process of planning the next chat event. I would love to hear what topics would interest you, what day of the week and time is best for you, and if you think an hour is too long.
So, if you get a minute, please let me know.
    Here's the transcript:
SiobhanF-HP: Welcome! Cameron, Craig, David, and Jim are ready to tackle your questions.
SiobhanF-HP: Just to remind you if you want to ask a question, you must be a member of the HP Support Forums. If you want to join, go here https://passport2.hp.com/hppcf/createuser.do
nc256: Do I need a wireless router to hook up my wireless printer?
CameronL-HP: No, but most people will want to do it this way. You can use a feature called an ad hoc connection to avoid using a router, but it is only covered under an older standard that is slower and less secure. Also, without something to route traffic between the local network and the internet, you cannot get an internet connection. Using a wireless router makes setting up a wireless network easier, and it will generally make the network work better too.
jest1: I've seen some hardware in stores for a "print server" hardware device that attaches to a network. Is this something that I need in order to run a printer over a network?
CraigB--HP: Not if you have a printer that has a network connection built in. Many models of HP computers are ready to be connected directly to your wired or wireless network.
katiepage: How can I print when I am using a VPN?
DavidH-HP: VPN connections generally hide the rest of your home network to increase the security of the VPN connection. A printer on the network isn’t a security threat but the VPN doesn’t know that. It just hides everything just to be sure. That means that when a VPN is active you need some way to connect to the printer other than your home network. Bluetooth, USB, and even printing to a thumb drive and plugging that into the printer are all ways of getting your print job to the printer that don’t go through your home network.
SiobhanF-HP: If you have specific product questions, the more information you give us the better we will be able to help you. Getting your exact model number; any error messages; a description of your wireless network including what kind of security you have, what wireless-devices are connected to your network, and your IP address will go a long way to helping us answer your question.
MelissaP: Why would I want a wireless printer?
CraigB--HP: The main advantage of a wireless printer is the ability to place the printer somewhere in your home or office even if this is not near your router or computer.
Deltan: What is the maximum distance I can have between my router and my printer?
CameronL-HP: It does depend on your environment. Without interference about 25 feet. Walls and floors and other objects can reduce this. The types of walls are important. For example, mirrors and outdoor walls will greatly reduce the indoor range.
jest1: Is there a preferred wireless router type or brand for wireless printing compatibility? We are using a Linksys 802.11g router in my home.
JimB-HP: In general, any wireless-router from a name brand manufacturer that has been Wi-Fi certified is compatible with our printers (look for the Wi-Fi logo). We use Linksys in our lab with great success.
nc256: Are there any digital cameras that can send directly to an HP wireless printer for photo printing?
DavidH-HP: Many printers support a feature called Pictbridge. If the camera and printer both supports this feature, the camera can be plugged directly into the printer to print photos. Or are you asking about printing over a network connection?
KevinW: I keep hearing that you shouldn’t use default settings for a network. Why?
CraigB--HP: There are three reasons not use default settings: First, wireless-routers do not have any wireless security enabled by default. Second, you will be using a common network name in which case you may connect accidentally to your neighbor’s network. Third, your wireless-router is accessible by inadvertent guests who may change the configuration of your wireless-router without your knowledge or use your internet connection without your permission.
Bodie08: I have an HP Lan attached printer and Windows XP on my home network. Is there a known setting (Firewall/port/other) or patch to address the issue of hpqtra08.exe hanging on Windows XP Shutdown? A number of us in the forum have identified this issue. Thanks!
DavidH-HP: This problem has been seen in the past but there were attempts to address it. Have you checked to see if there is a later release of software available on the web? (hp.com)
ZhuLee3: How old is wireless printing technology? I noticed all the experts have around 20 years of experience with it, was there wireless 20 years ago?
JimB-HP: Wireless printing first appeared with the introduction of the 802.11 standard in late 1990's. HP has been making wireless printers since 2003.
lpeterson123: What makes wireless so flaky at times?
CameronL-HP: There are lots of reasons. Wireless signals are affected by distance, walls, metal objects, and other wireless devices like cordless phones. However, most of the problems seem to be from how the network or how security software is configured, and these can also cause things to fail only occasionally or in certain situations. Having a good wireless connection between a PC and printer involves several hardware devices and lots of software made by different companies that all have to work together; if something is not quite right in any of these things then the whole solution looks flaky.
Bowman16: I use a Mac, are there any features that would not work if I was to set it up for wireless use
DavidH-HP: All the features will work on a Mac if you install the full HP software solution.
jest1: Thanks for the answer on the router question. The next question, then, is to ask what would be a recommended consumer-grade wireless-enabled printer (or series) just so I can start my research.
JimB-HP: Any of our Photosmart or Officejet wireless printers will work with Wi-Fi certified wireless-routers. Our price points really have more to do with how much printing you do. In general, our more expensive printers cost less per page than our less expensive models.
Bodie08: Why would I choose "spooling" on my PC over "direct connect”?
CraigB--HP: In general, spooling allows you to use your program sooner than printing directly.
ZhuLee3: Jim: What is it like to be an "HP Printing Expert"? What kind of stuff do you get to work on, on a day to day basis?
JimB-HP: I really like my job -- I've always been a radio enthusiast so working on 802.11 technology is really a dream job for me. I'm also fortunate to work with a great team here in Vancouver, WA. More importantly, I like designing equipment that people use in their everyday lives.
TEACHER1: Recently I changed routers, now I am unable to print wirelessly, even though the SES and wireless network light are steady on my Deskjet 6980 printer. What is the solution? Thanks.
DavidH-HP: The wireless light indicates that the radio is on but does not indicate that the printer is connected to the network. First check that the printer is connected to the network by printing a network configuration page from the printer.
AgentRed: I get my internet with a Verizon wireless broadband card. Someone told me that wouldn't work with a wireless printer. Is that true?
CameronL-HP: Our wireless printers use the 802.11 b, g or n standard which is not compatible with the wireless cellular standard. It would be like trying to connect to a wireless network using Bluetooth. They are different wireless technologies.
DavidH-HP: Regarding the Verizon card, it is true that you cannot connect the printer over the Verizon connection, but as long as your laptop has Wife you can print to the printer over WiFi at the same time that the Verizon connection is active. This should not be a problem.
jest1: Is there a "minimum" internet connection that is recommended for wireless printing? We live a bit far from the DSL CO so our connection is sometimes flaky. I would guess that incoming speed shouldn't affect my local wireless LAN but I want to ask it anyway
CameronL-HP: There are 2 parts to your home network. 1 is your wireless router which manages your local network equipment, then your network connection to the world wide web which your DSL provider gives you. The connection speed of your local network is not affected by your internet connection speed.
Bowman16: Are any HP printers 802.11n? I do not want to add an 802.11b,g to my network and cause it to slow down.
JimB-HP: Currently, our printers comply with the 802.11g standard. We are investigation the emerging 802.11n standard.
ZhuLee3: Will there be a transcript of all the questions and answers from this chat available for viewing after the session? I think I missed some questions at the start.
SiobhanF-HP: The chat event begins when you joined. Sorry that you can't see what was said before you joined. I hope to have transcript posted tomorrow or on Wednesday at the latest.
nc256: Where is the future of printers headed? Does HP have any interesting plans with printing technology? And what’s your opinion on whether or not color laser printing will ever approachthe photo realism of ink jet color?
JimB-HP: The future of HP printing will be characterized by wireless connectivity to not only computers but to mobile internet devices. In fact, as mobile devices become smaller (think phone or netbooks), the need to print from your mobile device might become more relevant.
jest1: Am I able to print from my iphone to a wireless printer?
CraigB--HP: You can print photos from your iPhone to HP wireless printers and it works great in my experience. Go to http://www.hp.com/go/iprintphoto to get the details.
TEACHER1: Thank you. I printed a page. It shows that wireless is disconnected.
DavidH-HP: Then you just need to input the wireless settings from your new router into the printer. If your printer does not let you input the settings from the front panel, you can use the CD that came with the printer or downloaded from hp.com to configure the printer again ( look for the option to "add a device" ).
ZhuLee3: Question about security... if I get a wireless printer, what’s to prevent other people within range of my printer, from adding it and printing documents? How is this configured on the actual printer?
JimB-HP: The simplest way to secure your printer is to enable WPA-PSK security for your wireless network and to use a security pass-phrase that is at least 12 characters long. This configuration is very safe from intruders for the foreseeable future.
CameronL-HP: It' is also a good idea to use a unique network name, also called an SSID.
carolj: I have a photosmart C7180 and I have it hooked up to my laptop (windows vista) when the setup completed the printer was put in networking instead of printers and I cannot access it or move it out of there. What do you suggest?
CraigB--HP: You might need to uninstall and reinstall. Before doing this, make sure your get the latest driver from the HP support at: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?product=1153754&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&cc=us This is also where you can get a copy of the instruction book.
wizll: Hi, I haven't done much research in wireless printing, but I'm interested as I currently have my printer set up the old fashioned way where it's connected to a networked PC, but if the PC is off I can no longer print, which is obviously inconvenient. Do hp wireless printers have a web gui you can connect to once it's on the home network, or is it simply all done from the printer's interface. I've seen some old wired network printers that only use the printer's ui and that seems like a clunky use.
DavidH-HP: Yes, the HP printers which have networking built-in have what we call an "embedded" web server which allow you to configure settings, check status, and have many other features; on some models you can even scan using the embedded web server.
nc256: Jim: Will color laser printing ever reach ink jet quality for photos?
JimB-HP: While never is a long time, inkjet printers will, for the near future, output higher quality photos.
katiepage: If I'm at home, connected to my office network via VPN, can I access my office networked printers?
CraigB--HP: Yes, when you are connected to the office VPN, you can print to your office printers. However, you will not be able to print to your home networked printers while you are connected to the VPN.
jest1: If a friend comes over to my house with their laptop and needs to print something, are they able to do this just by authenticating with my wireless LAN (assuming I have a wireless printer set up)?
CraigB--HP: In addition to authenticating to your network, you friend will also need to install the printer driver for your printer.
jpszambelan: Is there a wireless USB device of some kind I can connect to my printer if there is no network connection already built in?
JimB-HP: HP sells an accessory that adds Wi-Fi capability to your USB printer (see http://www.shopping.hp.com/product/printer/inkjet/wireless/4/accessories/Q6236A%2523A2L) Also, many higher-end wireless-routers allows USB printers to be connected to them to allow sharing of the printer from the network. Note that this solution often limits you to just printing and not scanning from the network.
rockwoodchev: It seems that my computer can find my printer, but my printer can't find the computer, so that "Scan to computer" won't work. What do I need to do in order to fix that?
DavidH-HP: This can be blocked by security software running on the PC (such as a personal firewall). Make sure that your firewall is configured to allow communication on your local network. You can also unblock specific ports, but the easiest way is often just to allow communication on the local home network. The specific setting varies from firewall to firewall.

SSPatrick: Is it possible to print wirelessly to the same HP printer using both a PC and a Mac?
JimB-HP: Yes -- I do this in my home. I have both Macs and PCs on my network without any trouble.
Bowman16: Any plans to do this again?
    SiobhanF-HP: Yes we are.
ZhuLee3: Do all of the experts hang out on the HP community? Will we see you posting there after this?
DavidH-HP: Oh yes, whenever time permits. In addition to trying to help people, I learn things too.

I work for HP, supporting the HP Experts who volunteer their time and technical knowledge to help others.

I expected this to be released quite earlier. But now that it's in process, I'll wait patiently.
Make it easier for other people to find solutions, by marking my answer with \'Accept as Solution\' if it solves your problem.
Click on the BLUE KUDOS button on the left to say "Thanks"

  • Jobs stay in queue and keep printing until you cancel them--then stops the print spooler...why?

    My Printer: HP Photosmart C309a
    My  Laptop: HP G71 series
Operating System: Windows 7 (64 bit) but runs a lot of stuff on 32 bit
Problem: I print ONE copy of a multiple page document in Adobe Reader 9. I select even pages only (after which I would reinsert the pages and tell it to print odd pages only, to get the other side). The printer makes a sound indicating the job is finished, I remove my pages to collate them, and then the printer continues to print the job again without so much as a keystroke.
Naturally, you find the printer in the devices on the control panel, click "see what's printing" and highlight the job and cancel it.
Then somehow it turns off my print spooler.
I have tried everything suggested on other forums, like
    restart the laptop/restart the printer
going to c\windows\system32\spool\printers and deleting whatever is hung up in there (usually a shockwave file).
Going to Services\print spooler \properties and making sure the settings are set to automatic
    Uninstall\reinstall latest driver and software
Switching from Adobe Reader 10 to Adobe Reader 9
Use System Restore to try to reset the system to a previous state.
Run Trend Micro to check for viruses and spyware--nothing shows up.
I am positive the pdf doc is NOT the problem, because I can print it on my husband's laptop multiple times over with no problems.
Does anyone have this problem as well? Has anyone found a genuine solution other than manually canceling print jobs in queue and constantly restarting the print spooler?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

    Hi,
I believe your printer is wirelessly connected to your computer, right?!
What's the current printer software version installed in your laptop computer?!
to see: click start>control panel>uninstall a program under Programs then it will tell you the software version like HP Photosmart c309a v13 or v14.
If the software version is v13, click here to download and install the current software.
IF all things still fail, try to use the workaround provided by HP in this link. It says:
    Workaround
Your HP printing product can operate sufficiently using an alternate print driver, although there might be some limitations. For instance, some buttons on the product control panel might not function, but the product prints normally from the computer. If the solutions in this document do not solve the issue, download and install an alternate print driver.
Follow these steps to install the HP Deskjet 990C print driver.
NOTE:  These steps install the new print driver using the same port that the product already uses. The product functions normally with multiple drivers on the same port.
Find the port that the product already uses.
Click the Windows icon ( ), and then click Control Panel . The Control Panel opens in a new window.
    Click Hardware and Sounds .
Click Printers . The Printers folder opens.
Right-click the product icon ( ), and then click Properties . The Propertieswindow opens.
Click the Ports tab. A window opens with a list of ports. The port for the product has a checkmark or a highlight.
Note the name of the port indicated for the product.
Close the Properties window, and then continue with the next steps.
Click Add a Printer in the menu bar at the top of the Printers window. The Windows Add Printer Wizard opens.
Click Add a local printer .
Select Use an existing Port .
Click the drop-down menu next to Use an existing Port , and then select the port that you noted earlier in these steps.
    Click Next .
In the Manufacturer pane, click HP .
In the Printers pane, click HP Deskjet 990c , and then click Next . (IF YOU CANT FIND DESKJET 990C, JUST CLICK WINDOWS UPDATE WITHIN THIS WINDOW. THEN FIND DESKJET 990C and then click next)
Type a name for the new printer in the Printer name box, or keep the default name.
Select Set as the default printer , and then click Next . A window opens with a progress bar as the printer installs. Then a new window opens.
Click Do not share this printer , and then click Next .
If you want to print a test page, click the Print test page button.
Click Finish to complete the driver installation.
Try printing again, but select HP Deskjet 990c from the Print dialog box.
If this solves the issue, follow these steps to use the HP Deskjet 990c print driver whenever you send print jobs to the product.
In the program you are using, select the option to print. The Print dialog box opens.
Click the Name drop-down menu, and then select HP Deskjet 990c .
Change print settings as desired in the Paper size , Quality , and Paper type drop-down menus.
Select the Print range and Copies options as desired.
Click OK . The product prints the file.

Installed a few of these just lately. Can't fault them. Good quality at a great price. Built in ethernet 10/100 10-Base T, drivers for Mac and PC, You can Print and Scan to it from both platforms. Drivers compatible with 10.4/10.5/XP/Vista. Good little photocopier as well and supports up to 4 different types/size memory cards. These can be inserted and using the LCD panel (no iinteraction required with Mac or PC) you can print however many photos you want.
