Products that necessary for construction a system with offline cli

Hi all. Please help me.
I would like to construct the system, where there is one central DB and many clients, but clients should work with there's local DB when connection is fault.
So I have understood that I should by Oracle Client(s) and Oracle Server. And then should I by Oracle lite and Oracle Standard Edition too?
Thanks a lot
Gabby

A Standby database system consists of one Primary database (which is used to do work on) and at least one Standby database, which is, typically, a Physical Standby. That means that it can't be used for "normal" work, but, instead, is set-up to receive all of the changes made to the Primary database, on an ongoing basis. Thus, if the Primary database is destroyed, then the Standby is converted to become a new Primary database, allowing work to continue, with (depending on how it's set-up), zero/mimimal data loss.
It's a big topic, and you really must read the Oracle documentation. Or get someone to come in and explain it all to you. That's the only way you'll be able to decide what you actually require... and possibly save you money.

You need Oracle Enterprise DB and Oracle Mobile Server. Mobile Server will handle the deployment and distribution of the Oracle Lite clients.

  • How to setup EWA for non-ABAP system with SM 4.0 ?

Hi, we are running SM 4.0 with the support-stack 06. I have set-up a solution for monitoring which includes a NW04 WebAS 6.40 Java only system. Has anyone set-up EWA reports for this type of non_ABAP system who can advise of the steps necessary for this ?
It seems like you need to define RFC destinations for where the monitored system data should be collected from , but there doesn't appear to be anywhere to do this for non-ABAP systems ?
I have looked at Note 738676 - Service Data Download for Non-ABAP Components but it hasn't helped and it seems to be SDCC specific, rather than SDCCN.
    Thanks.

    Hi Andrew,
we are just developing it, at the moment you have the following option, your java system has to send by ccms agends its data to an ABAP 640 system or higher, there you can see its alerts in ccms, then you have to make both system available in SMSY. Then important you have to assign the java system as a system component, then we collect also the java data and shows them in the EWA of the ABAP system. There for go to the main instance tab and set a java main instance to relevant and assign your java system.
This is the old, available standard solution. At the moment we develop it also for java stand alone.
I think it will be available with the new ST-SER in autumn

  • I just purchased an IMac with lion and I tryed to install an old math program that is for winmac running systems. When I try to boot the cd it comes up with a notepad window with a bunch of weird symbols and codes but the program will not start up.

I just purchase my first IMac with lion and I was trying to install a math program I bought 6 years ago. When I went to boot it off the disk while following the program instructions a window popped up with a note pad format with symbols and codes but the program would not download or open. How do I get this program to work? It is a mac compatible program by the way.

Your Mac probably does not know with which application to open the file and is opening a file with a text editor that really needs to be opened by the application itself.  Try starting the application first, then use the File > open command to open the file.
As varjak paw comments, there isn't a "winmac" so that's not telling us anything.
Note that it is possible that software purchased 6 years ago may no longer run on your computer.  Once we know what it is we can help more.

  • Users for a diskless system with NFSv4

I'm trying to set up the root filesystem for a diskless Arch client on an NFSv4 share.  It just dawned on me that, based on my understanding of user mapping for NFSv4 (user mapping by name rather than numeric UID), any user that owns files on the client system will need to exist or be explicitly mapped to a user on the file server, otherwise the files will end up owned by nobody.
Is that accurate?  How do other people handle diskless sytems with NFSv4?  I'd rather not have to set up NIS or Kerberos, if it can be avoided.  The file server in my case is a FreeBSD box so the systemd and daemon users won't necessarily match up.
Does anyone have experience with this?

ambsace wrote:In real life, though, my diskless system has (or will have) a root filesystem, on a disk array in a different system.
So, what I'm missing here? A diskless system will boot from network and maps the root filesystem via nfs. This is comparable to a local installation, where is a second system involved here?
Ok, got it. You mean the user mappings between the root filesystem of the diskless system and the fileserver itself. Because you talked from a "client", I thought you are talking about the mapping from a "client" machine to the nfs structure. Sorry for the noise.
    Edit: Typos and more...

  • A fix that works for your battery drain with iOS 8.2

After I updated my iPhone 4s to the new iOS 8.2 I found my battery life had become terrible.  I could barely make it through an 8 hour day at work before my phone would die.  It was so bad that I had to get myself a second charger to plug it in during the day.  Even then, if I used the phone at all, it would still lose its charge while plugged in.
Before this update, my phone would easily last through the day and would not need to be plugged in before I went to bed.  Even at midnight when I'd go to rest for the night, my phone was never below 70% and most times it would still be well above 80% but not so with iOS 8.2  So here is a fix I found on another forum somewhere.  I was desperate so I tried it and low and behold, it worked great.
    Here goes:
Let your phone die completely until it turns off by itself
Plug it in your charger until it comes back on again (around 6% for mine)
Turn it back off using the top button and the slider on the phone
Leave it plugged in for 2 to 3 hours or until you figure it would have reached 100%
Unplug the phone and turn it on
Now reboot your device (turn it off and back on again)
That's it.  This fixed it for me and for many on the forum where this was posted.  My battery life is back to what it was before my update to iOS 8.2.  I have plenty of battery life left when I get home after work.
Try it and pass it on....it works.

Use the Settings app to determine what apps or processes are using your battery the most. Once you know what is causing the battery drain you can take steps to reduce it.
Settings > General > Usage > Battery Usage
Wait a few seconds for the device to bring up the list of apps with their battery usage.

  • Is there a Metro version of Firefox that works for Non-Touch computers with Windows 8.1?

I have a 64-bit Windows 8.1 computer of which doesn't support Touch features. Is there a Metro version of Firefox that works on 64-bit Windows 8.1 computers that don't support touch? If so, how can I get it?

Okay, thanks. Tbh the only advantage I thought of was the ability for it to open in a Windows 8 mode. Basically like how IE 10 does when opened from the start menu.

  • Query help needed for querybuilder to use with lcm cli

    Hi,
I had set up several queries to run with the lcm cli in order to back up personal folders, inboxes, etc. to lcmbiar files to use as backups.  I have seen a few posts that are similar, but I have a specific question/concern.
I just recently had to reference one of these back ups only to find it was incomplete.  Does the query used by the lcm cli also only pull the first 1000 rows? Is there a way to change this limit somwhere?
Also, since when importing this lcmbiar file for something 'generic' like 'all personal folders', pulls in WAY too much stuff, is there a better way to limit this? I am open to suggestions, but it would almost be better if I could create individual lcmbiar output files on a per user basis.  This way, when/if I need to restore someone's personal folder contents, for example, I could find them by username and import just that lcmbiar file, as opposed to all 3000 of our users.  I am not quite sure how to accomplish this...
Currently, with my limited windows scripting knowledge, I have set up a bat script to run each morning, that creates a 'runtime' properties file from a template, such that the lcmbiar file gets named uniquely for that day and its content.  Then I call the lcm_cli using the proper command.  The query within the properties file is currently very straightforward - select * from CI_INFOOBJECTS WHERE SI_ANCESTOR = 18.
To do what I want to do...
    1) I'd first need a current list of usernames in a text file, that could be read (?) in and parsed to single out each user (remember we are talking about 3000) - not sure the best way to get this.
    2) Then instead of just updating the the lcmbiar file name with a unique name as I do currently, I would also update the query (which would be different altogether):  SELECT * from CI_INFOOBJECTS where SI_OWNER = '<username>' AND SI_ANCESTOR = 18.
In theory, that would grab everything owned by that user in their personal folder - right? and write it to its own lcmbiar file to a location I specify.
I just think chunking something like this is more effective and BO has no built in back up capability that already does this.  We are on BO 4.0 SP7 right now, move to 4.1 SP4 over the summer.
Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated.
    thanks,
    Missy

Just wanted to pass along that SAP Support pointed me to KBA 1969259 which had some good example queries in it (they were helping me with a concern I had over the lcmbiar file output, not with query design).  I was able to tweak one of the sample queries in this KBA to give me more of what I was after...
    SELECT TOP 10000 static, relationships, SI_PARENT_FOLDER_CUID, SI_OWNER, SI_PATH FROM CI_INFOOBJECTS,CI_APPOBJECTS,CI_SYSTEMOBJECTS WHERE (DESCENDENTS ("si_name='Folder Hierarchy'","si_name='<username>'"))
This exports inboxes, personal folders, categories, and roles, which is more than I was after, but still necessary to back up.. so in a way, it is actually better because I have one lcmbiar file per user - contains all their 'personal' objects.
So between narrowing down my set of users to only those who actually have saved things to their personal folder and now having a query that actually returns what I expect it to return, along with the help below for a job to clean up these excessive amounts of promotion jobs I am now creating... I am all set!
Hopefully this can help someone else too!
    Thanks,
    missy

  • No maintenance cycle is open for the current system

    Hello!
I have problems to use CharM functionality due to following error:
<b>No maintenance cycle is open for the current system</b>
The error arises when I try to set a urgent correction in status "In Development" I get the following error, menwhile I have an valid maintenance cycle active.
I use CharM functionality for the solution consisting of an single system with two clients:
SRM:000 (as DEV-system) (system role: source system)
SRM:100 (as PRD-system) (system role: target system)
    - No maintenance cycle is open for the current system (meanwhile I have a valid maintenance cycle created and activated).
Futhermore I get the additional warning:
IBase component is not a productive system in system lanscape
Can some help me with this issue?
    Thank you very much!
    regards
    Thom

    Hello Kriti,
thank you very much for your response.
Unfortunately I also thought about it.
Basically my CharM procedure looks as follows.
I send the message from productive client (I have only one system with client 000 and 100)  to Service Desk in SOLMAN.
There I can see the IBase of the productive client.
Then I create a urgent correction by assigning IBase to this IBase of productive client. It is also possible to change the IBase in change mode, so I have tried all the possible values of IBase and get the same error.
My problem also is that I have multiple values of IBase assigmenets, it means one system has multiple assigments to IBase components.
I do not know how to delete/cut these settings....
Thank you for your further help!
    regards
    Thom

  • Trouble in a SAP system with load balancing

    Hello masters:
I had a trouble with workitems that came from a SAP system with load balancing. They doesn't receive the workitem ID in the UWL.
I created another system in the portal as a "dedicated application server", and made the necessary configuration in order to replace the first one, and then my workitems worked fine.
However, I would like to know what appened with the first system created as "system with load balancing". Why this system didn´t pass the workitem ID to the application (web dynpro abap) that execute the workitems?
    Thank you.

I hope there was some missing configuration in the first case which was not replicating the workitem from SAP Inbox to UWL.
    Thanks

  • SAP PI Modeling: Two Business systems with party

I am triing to create SAP BPVT Interaction model that describe connection of 2 process components. Each of that components must be business systems with party. As I understand process component must be Process component at business partner for assigning business system with party.
If I create SAP BPVT Interaction model with two Process component at business partner, I get they connection in type of "Other Interaction". When I try create new assigment, I get error "Unable to assign the model to this connection type due to the method or profile in use".
How can I create correct connection?

I am using apex to build business portal for a client and I have following business requirement to implement.
1.In additional updating to the oracle/apex database for a particular use case I need to update inventory system which reside in some other environment (db ) . I have API and for accessing this system .With Apex how should I solve this?
    2. If external system expose their services as web services can I called this web service with in PL/SQL block?

Web service integration is possible. Please see this link:

Regarding calling API, you may need to use Java PL/SQL, and use java to call API.

    I have openLdap 2.0.7 running on NT4 and W2K.
I cannot see why it would not work in 98 for

There is a newer version (even binaries) and instructions how to compile it yourself (if you are brave enough):

    Hi,
I could resolve the issue since there were lot of issues after system copy.
    1. During distribued to Cenrtal system - system copy.
You need to combine both DB and CI export copies in one folder during which one thing can happen.
SOURCE.PROPERTIES - this file will be there in DB export JAVA folder and also CI export JAVA folder where
DB SOURCE.PROPERTIES file doesn't have an entry of "src.ci.host". This will stop the SAPINST with error and after modifying the file "SOURCE.PROPERTIES" Traget System Copy finishes without any issue.
Then after this stage I encountered an issue with bind hosts entry in config tool which was due to virtual host name usage in my HACMP setup due to whcih JAVA gives a startup problem.
    I eliminated this issue also.
After JAVA started I faced an issue with XI related navigations.
ecchangeProfile url still had an entry of Production System. This may be a bug.
After changing that entry, exchangeProfile was downloaded but it had all the source system host entries which were manually changed.
Now I can access all the XI related navigations.
I need to also perfrom SGEN and Profiles import.
Do I need to change any additional settings after this so that my production and DR can work without any issue?
Do you have any additional checks which I can perfrom to ensure my DR systems consistency before I start the log shipping from Production?

Use the trackpad to scroll, thats what it was designed for. The scroll bars automatically disappear when not being used and will appear if you scroll up or down using the trackpad.
This is a user-to-user forum and most people will post on here if they have problems. You very rarely get people posting to say there update went smooth. The fact is the vast majority of Mountain Lion users will not be experiencing any major problems with the OS, or maybe with apps which are not compatible, but thats hardly Apple's fault if developers don't update their apps.
