  • One production client in one server

    Hi friends,
i have proposal to install two production clients in one single server (single database).
What is sap recommendation, what is the advantage and disadvantage.
Please let me know sap recommendation in this issue.
    ***Please provide sap documentation proof.***

Please tell me: What exactly to you want?
Nobody will tell you how many clients you may or may not copy in your system as well as nobody can tell you, neither here nor in a document, how many stocks, plants etc. are "default".
The implementation partner should have an organizational concept, how to build up the system, this is nothing that comes from SAP but is depending on your project, your company, location etc.

  • How to change path of Users Terminal Services Profile for multiple AD users on server 2003?

Hello experts. I am working on a file server migration. All data has been migrated, I am currently working on redirecting users to the new file server. I
am able to select multiple users at once in ADUC -> right-click -> properties -> profile and here I can change the home folder and roaming profile path for each all users to point towards the new file server.
The issue I have run in to is that we have roaming profiles for terminal services users. So, there are hundreds of users that have their terminal services profile
configured in AD -> Right-click user (one at a time) -> properties -> terminal services profile. Here, the profile path is configured for each user as \\OLDserver\Profiles\%username%
and I need to change it to \\NEWserver\profiles\%username%.
I know that you can configure this path via group policy, I set up a GPO; Computer / Administrative Templates / Windows Components / Terminal Services / “Set Path
for TS Roaming Profiles” as \\NEWserver\profiles and applied this GPO to an OU containing the TS servers.
The problem is, the GPO is not working... When I log in to the TS and add a document to My Documents, it is still saving under \\OLDserver\profiles\Username.
So, the settings in AD are trumping the GPO I believe. What is the best way to accomplish my goal? Thanks in advance!

    > to change it to \\NEWserver\profiles\%username%.
That is "profile" in opposite to...
    > add a document to My Documents, it is still saving under
    > \\OLDserver\profiles\Username.
...this one which is Folder Redirection and has NOTHING to do with
    server based profiles.
    > So, the settings in AD are trumping the GPO I believe.
No, it isn't. When you do not enable FR and you access "Documents", you
will never see an UNC path but the local c:\users\xyz\documents folder.

  • Create searchable profiles for my client's website.

I am a web designer and have been asked to create an option for my client's customers to create profiles that are searchable by others (specifically athletes that can be searched for by college coaches). I am a little out of my depth since I mainly work in design and have limited experience in developing things like these. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated

  • Where are the lens profiles for newer Nikon DSLR products?

There is hardly anything for D800 and newer lenses like 24-120 f/4, 70-200 f/4, 28-300 f/3.5-5.6, etc. Also, I have Lens Profile Downloader 1.0 installed and it works, but I cannot update to 1.0.1. It refules to install:

24-120 f/4, 70-200 f/4, 28-300 f/3.5-5.6, etc. Also, I have Lens Profile Downloader 1.0 installed and it works, but I cannot update to 1.0.1. It refules to install:
There is a Adobe supplied profile in the standard install for the 28-300 (NIKON D3X (Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 28-300mm f3.5-5.6 ED VR) - RAW) and for the 24-120 (NIKON D3X (Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 24-120mm f4G ED VR) - RAW). Those profiles will work fine for those lenses used on any Nikon body, including crop bodies. The 70-200 f/4 is too new I guess but I am sure it will show up soon. I don't have one (yet) otherwise I would have put up one already as it is trivial to generate these lens profiles yourself.

  • Clarification about source and destination IPs for internal clients and Edge server

I just wanted to get some clarification on the correct traffic flow between internal Lync clients and the Edge server.
From all the diagrams I've looked at I was under the impression that if internal clients need to hit the Edge server to talk to external clients they should always do so through the Edge Internal interface which bridges to the Edge External interface and
out to the internet.  Specifically port 3478 from the Edge AV External interface to the internal clients.
We aren't seeing that in our environment.  When internal clients are talking to external clients we see the Edge AV External interface communicating directly with the internal client.  In fact we found this out because after the migration to Lync
2013 external users couldn't created a AV connection to internal users on either the Lync servers.  We saw traffic on 3478 being dropped between the Edge AV External interface and the internal client.  Once we opened that port AV traffic worked.
We never put this rule in until we introduced Lync 2013.  Lync 2010 didn't seem to require it.
    Is that the correct flow?

I would also really love to know the outcome of this but it looks like the thread is marked as "Answered" and it is not so.
I've been working with a troublesome Lync deployment in which internal users are having issues sharing their desktop with external and federated users. After opening up all the 50000-59999 range for TCP/UDP on the A/V Edge external interface things are working
much better, but we still see sporadic failures.
It lead us to start digging into the network traffic. We see that UDP traffic on port 3478 is being routed back from the external client to the Edge A/V's external interface, inside of the DMZ's perimeter, then directly to the internal client on the internal
network. It doesn't look like it's making a connection since the stream is so small, so I wonder if there is a design flaw in my topology?
There are persistent static routes on the Edge server that use the internal interface to route internally directed traffic over the internal gateway. Tracert confirms the flow, but in wireshark traces, running during successful connections, UDP port 3478
is still sending packets directly to the internal IP from Edge's A/V address.
We also see successfully connected sessions communicate on a different network route that we use to handle internet traffic rather than our Lync topology's route (the one defined for A/V traffic). The connection opens on ports in the 50000 range, but goes
over a router that we have not configured for such traffic. Is that possible?
Why is UDP traffic on 3478 trying to go directly to internal clients from external interface ?
It sounds like it's happening elsewhere... Is this a legitimate issue to be diagnosing? Has it been observed and/or resolved by others?

  • What are the possible approches for hosting a product(custom SP application) for multiple clients on a single SharePoint farm?

We have a product which is a custom application based on SharePoint Foundation 2010. Right now, for each of our client we create a dedicated server and host the application in the standalone deployment. Now, the requirement is to host multiple clients in a
    farm deployment.
Challenges are: 1. The product has same name for the wsp that is deployed on different client servers as of now. How to distinguish for different clients on same farm
Currently the product specific css and jquery is in 14 hive. These files will be of difefrent versions for different client. How to segregate that?
How many web applications is recommend to be created in a single SPF 2010 farm? What are the challenges?
There are a couple of DBs created in SQL for the application. What is the best way to separate those for the client?
Essentially its the same product but with different versions for each client that we want to deploy in a single farm. What is the best practice to tackle this?

For the most part, these are not SharePoint questions per se, but product-specific questions you'd better ask the vendor about. To get in some more detail:
    1. It totally depends on the scope of the solution. If its global, then you're out of luck and any changes you make affect all instances that use it. Better ask the vendor about it.
    2. Not that many, let's say < 10, assuming you're web applications have separate application pools. Check out  http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc262787(v=office.14).aspx#WebApplication for
    more info.
    3. This is very application specific and really should be answered by the vendor. Not related to SharePoint at all.
    4. Again, really depends on the product so better ask the vendor.
    Good luck!

  • 2 Clients with Production Role in Production server , possible ?

My company has implemented 2 Systems SAP Landscape with one development and one production server. So far , we have one client in Production server been configured with Production role and one more is configured with customizing role.
If possible to configure the client with customizing role in production server to production role ? I tried but the syatem always tell me that a client with production role is already exist.
    Kindly advise .
    Thanks.
    Leon

    Hi, Rohit :
Once again . Thanks for your input .But , I really can't try what you are suggesting here as my production system is running 24 hours per day and I can't really take the risk by just trying open and close the existing client with production role .  Based on your 1st reply , you said that Production system is possible to have 2 clients with production role . If it is so , there should be settings that I could configure to achieve this rather than trying  to reconfigure the existing client with production role.
    Thanks.

  • Config for Production client

    Dear all,
I'm a new basis and now I'm working in big project ERP. I have a disturbed about config for Production client.
In scc4 we must set client role is Production and No change allowed for Objects. But in production some time we need do Open and Close Period, or change following business requirement, ... This is not allowed to do in Production client.
How do we config for Production client to cover this requirements ?
Do we need a config client for maintain Production client ? Example: Production client is 500, Config client is 100. When we need Open or Close Period or change anything, we do in 100 and transfer request to 500.
    Thank you very much.
    Regards,
    Thanh.

You can customize transaction to be executable although the setting in SCC4 is "productive", this is accomplished by using transaction SOBJ:
Note 1497640 - Open and close periods in productive client
You can theoretically put every customizing view there and make it "executable" in a production system.

  • How to use the selection profile and status profile for production order?

    Hi expert,
I want to know how to use the selection profile and status profile for production order. what's the usage for these two selection profile and status profile ?
      Please help me.
      thanks in advance.
      george.shi

    Hi George,
There are are two types of statuses. One is system status and second one is user status. These statuses will tell us current situation of an order.
We can't change system statuses. But we can create our own statuses through status profile. With this profile we can control user statuses.
    In this status profile,
1.We define the sequence in which user statuses can be activated,
    2.We define initial statuses
    3. Allow or prohibit certain business transactions.
Selection profiles are used to select the objects (say production orders) with different status combinations. We assign status profiles to selection profiles in BS42 T-Code.

    Raja.

  • Production scheduling profile for production order type 10 does not exist – SAP Message No.10085

When i tried to make confirmation for Production Order through CO15 transaction , i receive the following error message “ Production scheduling profile for production order type 10 does not exist – SAP Message No.10085 “
In Work Scheduling view, Production Scheduling Profile is maintained as per OPKP only.
How to check whether production scheduling profile is maintained for relevant order type 10.
To do this , i went to OPKP & KOT2_OPA transactions but i don’t know how to check. I guide me through with a screen shot.
Also, pls explain about  “Order Type 10” and how it is linked with material and order execution.
Looking for a detailed explanation with screen shots , since i am new to SAP.
    Thanks With Regards,
    Dinesh Kumar V.

    Hello Dinesh,
Please check the order type dependent parameter in OPL8 here you will get the Substitute Scheduler
Then go to OPCH and check valid production scheduling profile assign here as per OPKP to your production scheduler for your plant.
Production order have Order category as 10  Process Order  40 in standard SAP you can check this in OPJH.

    Hi Archana,
Go to material master-work scheduling view and check what is the production scheduling profile maintained for the same materisl -plant combination.
then go to OPKP and check if production scheduliong profile is maintained for relevent order type 10 in custmizing. If not maintain one and it should resolve the error.

  • Is license required for Oracle 10g client on production

Is license required for Oracle 10g client on production?

Standard disclaimer: We don't represent Oracle. Your situation may be different because of specific wording in your particular Oracle contract, because of differences in licensing regimes over the years, because of laws in your particular country, etc. If you have a serious licensing question, you really need to address it to Oracle Sales. Explaining that some guy on the internet told you it was OK is going to be cold comfort if you're ever audited by Oracle and they disagree with my interpretation...
In general, no, you don't need a separate client license. The database is generally licensed to support a number of named users and/or all the users that a certain hardware configuration can support. Assuming the person using the Oracle client is connecting to a properly licensed database (and that they are one of the named users if that is the licensing regime), you shouldn't need a separate license.
There may be slightly different rules if we're talking about developers connecting to the database because of the "Oracle Programmer" set of licenses that appears on pricing sheets that I've never fully understood.
