Profile location

Hi
How to profile the data?
when i tried to do that..it is showing me the following error...
Source location shud be different from profile location, but connection informayion may be the same.
when i am trying to change a location of profile in design center,It has only one location that is source laoction.
In profile editor, edit -->properies,here also i changed the loction but it is not updating..
Can any one please tell what is the problem...
Thanks,
kiran

Hi
I got a solution for that...
The location to profile the data should be different from the user location,
With the help of repository assistant, we can create a new user(i.e., schema) and we can give the location details of that schema.
I think this wil be helpful for a beginner in OWB
Thankyou any ways...

  • Firefox Hangs when profile location is Offline Files

    Hi all,
We are having some problems with custom profile locations on windows 7
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -Profile "U:\Firefox\Profile"
We use the above command to launch firefox. The u drive is a drive that is ALWAYS available for all users. This drive is redirected to the home folder of the user. To sync these folders we use Offline files.
During our testing fase we had no problems at all with this method. But in the last week we receive more and more people complaining that firefox hangs. (Read: no error specific error just stops responding and windows asks to close firefox)
In my troubleshooting quest i found that as long as i don't use internet ( so not using our proxy server squid) it all works. But from the moment i try using for example google, firefox stops responding.
The tricky part is that sometimes it happens after 5 minutes, couple of hours, few days.
Once it happened after 5 minutes, the only way to solve it is to delete the profile folder on the U Drive and start over.
So any help on identifying this problem is welcome. If more info is needed let me know what you need.

  • Epson Paper profiles-location/deletion

I just installed some Epson 3800 "Professional Profiles". They found a home in two places. 1st on Lib/Printers/Epson/InkjetP2/IccProfiles/Pro38.profiles where they are in a cryptic "Package" form. They also went to Lib/ColorSync/Profiles/Epson Stylus Pro3800 where they are in a normal .icc with color space symbol form. I clearly don't need or want these in two places-do I?  Can I get rid of all the cryptic "package" versions and just use the ones in the ColorSync folder for everything?
I also want to get rid of many unneeded profiles so what comes up in the printer dialog has limited choices etc. I have 48 of these Package crypticlly labled profiles in the  first listed Lib/Printers/Epson/InkjetP2/IccProfiles/Pro38.profiles location. I cannot tell what they are for except for the 9 I just installed  from epson.   Any advice/help will be appreciated. Thanks.

    (1) Don't use "Lib" instead of "Library". (There are actually lots of folders on your disk named "lib".)
    (2) Don't delete anything in </Library>, unless you know precisely and exactly what it does and that you won't need it. Rule of thumb: If you need to ask, don't do it.
    (3) There's nothing cryptic about a 'package'. It's merely a type of folder (directory), and you can see its contents by ctrl-click/right-click and choosing Show Package Content.
    (4) As a rule, an Epson printer driver should give you the option of using either ColorSync or Epson's colour controls. It's usually better to have options…

  • Can't change Window User's Profile Location

I would like to change the Window User's Profile Location. I've followed the instructions on page 85 of User Management Apple's document unsuccussefully.
In the Windows tab of Group Management, I have enter my new SMB sharepoint :
    User Profile Path : \\servername\sharename\folder\usershortname
The Window Client's computer is recocgnized by the OD / PDC Leopard server, I can login without any problem, but at the end of the Window XP session's, the profile is still saved at //ODMasterServer/Users/Profiles/.
The strangest is that in XP I perfectly reach \\servername\sharename\folder\ and can write what I want within.
I think that the Leopard PDC doesn't send the correct information to the client for the profile folder path's.
Where can I verify or change it ?
A solution would be to write a login script for the client, any idea of a short script ?

    I solve partialy my problem.
I use a Windows Server 2003 with file sharing.
    1) Add the server the same way you add an XP client computer in the OD domain.
    2) Create a file sharing using the server admin console (DO NOT USE the file sharing on the properties of the file) choosing full access for admin and read/write access for users
    3) In the security of the shared directory add the OD admistrator's (be careful domainnamedomainadmin not only domain_admin) and give him full access.
So apparently the PDC and the SMB doesn't work correctly in Leopard Server apart for the file /Users/Profiles.
It works more or less fine.
Now, I want to hide the home's and profil's file to the other users (mac or windows).

  • I can't sign in from English OS. It caused by my profile location is Japan, isn't it?

I can't sign in from English OS however I can sign in from Japanese OS. It caused by my profile location is Japan, isn't it? If yes, it is really incovenience. I hope you fix it.

    d_touch -
Can you be more specific about what happens when you try to login from your English OS? Does it give you an error? Does it just not log you in?
I don't think it has to do with the language of the OS, but I think it may have to do with your internet browser settings. Can you let us know what browser you are using and if you are able to accept cookies?
Can you login at ni.com/profile using your English OS?

  • Profile manager shows only one profile but I have two profiles located in the same place and I want to change

I have had a Firefox crash and uninstalled then reinstalled three times. For some reason Mozbackup won't back up my files. In checking profiles, I have two profiles with different names and both marked default, located in the same place. I would like to use the old profile but the profile manager only shows one profile.
How can I get to use the old profile?
    Thanks, Joe

  • Display Profile location in 10.8

I've created a new display profile under the Color tab in Display options.  If I highlight the new display profile name, it tells me the location is ~/Library/ColorSync/Profiles.  However, I'm not seeing it in there.  Am I missing something here? Is the file hidden?  I'd like to find that icc file and copy it to a few other machines of the same make/model.

Open Finder, in the menu bar click on Go, hold down the Option Key [alt] the Library folder will appear

  • Icc profile locations inconsistent and confusing

I apologize in advance for this long winded post, but I really would like some help, if anyone is willing to indulge me. Ive done some searching on the forum, and got some info, but I feel Im still missing something.
My issue is with printer/paper profiles, and which to use to optimize print/monitor matching. A bit of background. I have not bothered until this morning to set up my Epson 2200 printer on my Mac Pro computer. Today, I finally did so. Im running an 8 core Mac Pro, 4 GB memory, and Lightroom Rev 1.1. I downloaded the latest Intel Mac printer driver from the Epson site, and installed the driver. In addition, I downloaded the paper profile for Epson Premium Luster paper for the Mac from the Epson site (I was surprised to note that the download was not just .icc profiles, but instead, a program that installed the profiles (though the program did not say where the profiles were going, or what the profiles were called).
Next, I followed the directions for printing in Lightroom that Scott Kelby included in Chapter 8, pages 272-277 and 290-295 of his The Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Book. I was able to find 3 profiles for Premium Luster Paper when I followed step 4 on page 291 of the book, when I used the other option for Profile under the Color Management pane. The profiles were called, exactly, SP2200 Prem.Luster 1440.icc, SP2200 Prem.Luster 2880.icc, and SP2200 Premium Luster PK, and I was able to select all 3 of them by clicking the checkboxes in front of the profiles and now they show up as selections for printing. Thus far, I have experimented with the 1440 and PK profiles, and printed images using both perceptual and relative rendering intents, and Ive found, to my poor eyes at least, using the PK profile, with perceptual rendering intent, yields the best printer/monitor match (yes, my Eizo ColorEdge CE240W monitor has been recently calibrated using Monaco Optix, in case you were wondering), not great, but marginally acceptable. So far, so good. Now, here are my issues:
I am trying to understand where the 3 profiles came from, since Im now paranoid about losing them, since I think Im headed in the right direction, at least. When I do a Spotlight search on my Mac, I have been able to find the SP2200 Prem.Luster 1440.icc and SP2200 Prem.Luster 2880.icc profiles under the Macintosh HD 1/Library/Colorsync/Profiles directory. However, the PK profile is not found by Spotlight. Instead, I seem to have located the PK profile by using the Colorsync utility, doing a repair profile, and then looking at profiles. The PK profile appears to reside under the directory Macintosh HD 1/Library/Printers/EPSON/InkjetPrinter/ICCProfiles/, however, it doesnt exist as a separate .icc profile, instead, it appears to reside inside a file called SP2200.profiles, which does not seem to be openable.
    So here are the questions:
    1. Which of these profiles were put into place when I installed the printer driver, and which were created when I downloaded and ran the paper profile for Epson Premium Luster paper program?
    2. Is there a way for me to extract the SP2200 Premium Luster PK from that SP2200.profiles file and put it in the same location as the other 2 .icc files, or should I not care? Im particularly afraid of losing this profile, since its the one that is working best for me at the moment.
Thanks for any thoughts on this.

Ans to Q1 - Macintosh HD 1/Library/Printers/EPSON/InkjetPrinter/ICCProfiles/ contains installed with driver and Macintosh HD 1/Library/Colorsync/Profiles were installed by the download.
Ans to Q2 - Epson put them inside the "package" to keep them safe. You can access the package contents via the Ctrl+click or right+click context menu item labelled "Show package contents" (see attached screenshot), but I would
strongly urge you not to remove them from the package. You really don't need to care where they are because they're in the safest place. It's when folk try to get smart that the system bites them.

  • CS3 color profile location

I'm presently using Photoshop for Windows in CS3 extended.  I have attempted to clean up and organize my color profiles.  I do this in Windows/system32/spool/drivers/color but when opening Photoshop and selecting profile for either printing or profing I find all of those I deleted present and some just added not present so there is obviously another location that Photoshop is finding profiles.  Where is it and can the profiles be edited?
    Thanks in advance for help

Chris Thanks for answer - however, I have rebooted and they are still present/not-present. Is there a folder under Adobe that also has profile list?

I know that this won't any sense and doesn't to me and I don't work for LinkSys, Cisco or Network Magic, but tried changing your Username to all small letters, like thecreator is. Use thevoyager not TheVoyager and see what happens. May not work and it may work.
Might have to do with your Username. I don't know for sure, but may work.
Besides our location, the only thing different, is our Username on the system.
There was no where that I could see that you could change your username, so tried setting up another account, which is where this message is coming from, and i made sure that United Kingdom was set in the sign up page, then logged in, changed the profile to show "London, UK", without the quotes, but I don't think it is showing correctly again.

  • Changing Roaming Profile location

    Hi,
I am trying to implement a solution where roaming profiles are stored on
the users home drive but not in the default "Windows NT 5.0 Workstation
Profile" directory. The directory will be the name of the user's
workstation. So in effect, a user will get one profile per machine.
I am able to do this using the Zenworks User Policy Package (Windows
Desktop Preferences) and rather than storing the profile on the users
home directory, "Storing User Profile in Network Directory Location".
I've gotten the following to work using:
    \\myservername\apps\Home\%username%\%computername%
    My question is:
Is it possible to totally variablise the path so that the policy can be
applied to users regardless of what their home server\volume is?
    i.e. \\%Home_Directory\%computername%
I've tried many combinations (eg. using %home_drive%, %<home_drive>,
removing the two \\, etc) and cannot get this to work.
Is there some variable that I can use that refers to the user's home
location that works in the Policy?
    -Thanks

This has been discussed and the answer seems to be "No, at least not at
the time Windows does its work on the user profile."
    Btw
    \\myservername\apps\Home\%username%\
didn't seem to work the last time I tried it. Did it work for you?

  • How can i change the default profile location to another directory or environment variable?

    Hi,
I need to move where Mozilla Firefox creates its profiles. it currently creates in AppData\Local\Mozilla... normally that is ok. In my network unfortunately AppData\Local is synchronised using Citrix Profile Management tools. the size of the Firefox profile whilst only several meg causes slow login times for my customers. So we currently have folder re-direction enabled and we would like to move the Firefox profile to a directory within documents i.e. %USERNAME%\documents.
I have found some ADM templates on the internet however, they have not had enough options including the VBS files i spotted that they are for a very old version. i have tried to find the correct location in the registry under HKLM\software\policys\Mozilla however this does not exist.
We are using Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2.
Mixed Versions of Firefox used but for sake of arguments version 28.
If someone could help that would be much appreciated.
    Kind regards,

  • Change windows profile location for all accounts?

My OD server is 10.3.9, my 3 document servers are all 10.4.8.
Is there any way to change the profile path location for ALL accounts all at once?
    The previous location was:
    \\server\share\username\Library\Profile
That information is now gone (somehow). So, I need to add that information back to each account. Only problem is, I have 2600 accounts.
Also, can something similar be done for the home directory path? I think it's just the default \\server\share\username, but I want to make sure it matches up with what was there before.
Thanks in advance!! Any help would be appreciated!!

The setting 'logon path = \\$server\$user\$path' should help you. This is set in the text configuration file /etc/smb.conf on the OD server. You may run `man smb.conf` in a Terminal to learn more about the 'logon path' setting and others.
Note that you may also set a profile path in the Workgroup Admin GUI. The GUI will take precedence over the text configuration file for each individual.
