Hello,
There is a requirement in which a warning message should be displayed if the same program is being executed by another user.
Please let me know incase there is any function module to find out the same or any other way to get the details.

Iphoto on my macbook pro has stopped working. It comes up with a message saying that the library is either being used by another user or it is unreadable. Any ideas why I should be receiving this message?

Offered solution doesn't work:
Shut down and restart your computer, and then open iPhoto again. If the problem persists, try rebuilding your photo library. To do this, quit iPhoto, and then reopen it while keeping the Option and Command keys pressed. You can also try restoring your photo library from a backup.
I have already copied my photographs to the a library manager but when I tried to reuse iphoto and import the photos back into iphoto, it would not let me.
I can't download photographs from my iphone or my digital camera.
Any ideas on how I can solve this problem?
There is a possibility that when I went to update applications that I started to install Mavericks which I then interrupted and cancelled. I am not definite that this caused this problem but it was at about the same time as when this problem started.

You can't "copy" your photos to the "library manager", there is just no way to any such thing.
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

I select yes, then new message - word can not open this document.the document might be in use or it may not be an invalid document.

Permission to end process of another user in task manager

Hi there,
I have Software Restriction Policy enabled, UAC is on computers and current user is not a local admin.
Is there a way to grant a user security right to terminate process started by another user? Using GPO.
Currently when user tries to terminate a task using cmd command: taskkill /F /IM "process", gets "Access Denied" if that process has been started by another user.
I tried Computer Configuration->Policies->Windows Settings->Security Settings->File System, gave domain users full access to the file that is being launched by another user but that did not do anything.

Message being used by another user

I am running office 2008, word version is 12.3.6, and Mtn Lion 10.8.3. I am trying to edit word template documents on the network. I used to open Word, go to File, select Open... and go to the template. The template would open and I would make the necessary changes. After updating to Mtn Lion, I now get the message: (name of document.dotx" is being used by "another user". Do you want to make a copy?
I know the documents are not opened as they are letters that I exclusively use and I just need to edit them. In checking around, one solution, although haven't read if it works, is to reinstall office 2008. This seems pretty drastic to me. Only thing that seems to help is to actually restart the machine and then it works, but only for one document.
Any suggestions?

Did you recently reinstall the OS then copy all your files back over? Do a Get info on one of the documents and see if your current UserName is listed and has Read & Write permissions. If not select the Documents folder and check that for Read & Write permissions for your UserName. If it doesn't have R & W permissions Add it so it does.

Now we have created these REPORTS using Basic Crystal Report 10.5, which comes bundled with Visual Studio 2008 and .Net Framework 3.0. Now on our machines, we have never experienced any issues.
Going by the above, you should have references to CR assemblies of version 10.5.3700 only. No other references.

How do I stop extra instances of Firefox program being opened by another page when it loads?
When I log on to a favorite site it loads OK. The site has a number of pages. When I move to the second or third page, a second instance of Firefox automatically starts and loads an advertisement. I can block the site that tries to load the page, but I cannot stop the second instance of Firefox from loading up. So in the end I might have three or four instances of Firefox all going at once.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Peek in on Azure Virtual Image being used by another user

Does the Azure console give the ability to view a running image that is being utilized by another user. I am investigating whether I could potentially use the Azure environment for remote training. One of my requirements would be to be able to see what
the students are doing in case I need to assist them. Does Azure have this capability? If not, is there some other way to accomplish this?

yes, i get that too! at first i panicked but I think the system doesn't reset itself when you exit the camera and when you go back in it thinks your someone else - thats just my theory, or wishful thinking??

Slow access to files that are already being opened by another user

HI,
A client has a Windows 2008 server setup with Windows 7 workstations. When a user opens a document (docx, xlsx etc) on the server it opens without an issues. If a second user tries to open the same file that the first user is in, the second users
computer hangs for about 2-3 minutes before bringing up the 'another user in accessing this file' box. This is happening with every file type and with any user.
Any ideas?

How can you tell if a process step is already being processed?

Further to my last note regarding assigned a process step to multiple users, how can you determine if the step is currently being processed by another user? When opening a task which has already been opened by another user, the message "The following action has been opened by another 1 user(s)...."
I would like to prevent the second user from making any changes to the object if it's already been opened by another user, hence this request.

Delivery being processed by a different user

Hello All.
Release-SAP 4.6c/oracle
VL02n and vt02n gave a message stating the deliveries are currently being processed a different user XYZ .We had the name of this user(XYZ) in this message.This was an issue with many deliveries that day for a span for 1 hour.
1. the user XYZ was inactive in the system(al08)
2.No process against the user XYZ name in SM66.
But I found locks against XYZ in sm12 on the tables LIKP/VBAK.
I deleted these locks in sm12 to overcome the problem.
Now I'm trying to find the root cause for this issue.
There is no much info available in standard tcodes-sm21,dev_W* for enqueue,st22(no dumps), no cancelled updates.Any standard possible causes for this??
Any other checks to be performed??

There could be two reasons that you didn't get the data for all users:
--> The SM21 logs that you use should be from 'all remote system' or from your central system log(if this is being used)
--> The timeframe that you restrict the log is incorrect (the users' might have been disconnected some time back and you only observed the locks only when it started hitting you badly.
To check if the locks where a product error, I would need the release/OS/DB details.
Updates do set locks, but your concern is the locks not being released ?

I can no longer edit images on external drive if logged in as another user even with permission.

I have two users on my computer. Me (admin) and another log-in for assistants, clients etc.
I use an external drive to hold images.
Lately I've had a problem where if I'm logged in as Other (this side for everyone else), I often am not able to edit images even though the permissions are set for this log-in to have complete read/write capabilities?
Even sometimes when I'm logged in regularly (my admin side) I have received a "File Reservation" error. It says the file is being used by another user. ????
Then it asks if I want to use Read-Only and do I want to be notified when the file becomes available. ????
What's happened to my files?

Similar problem here. My Ical refuses to edit or delete events. Viewing is possible, though sometimes the whole screen turns grey. Adding new events from mail is still possible. The task-pane completely disappeared. My local apple technic-centre messed about with disk utility for a bit and than told me to reinstall leopard. I could of course do that, but it seems to me that reinstalling Leopard just to fix iCal events is a bit invasive.
I tried also tried removing everything, installing a new copy of iCal from the leopard-cd, software updates, all to no avail.
At the moment I'm open to all suggestions that do not include a complete leopard reinstall.
