Program crash DW8 under XP Pro
Hi,
I got a rather weird problem: allthough all software is
bought legally and installed properly unter win xp pro sp2 our copy
of DW8 (incl. update to 8.0.2) always crashes during the start
sequence. I allready de-installed all components and did a
re-installing without updating - same effect.
Could anyone tell me what to do to get the software running?
Thanks a lot
Tom

See if there's anything here that may pinpoint your problem:

Hello,having a problem with Logic 9 on a Mac Pro.Working on a lenghty song and apparently session got corrupted.Doesnt let me export tracks,program crashes.Already tried start brand new session with the tracks imported into it but still wont export.Suggestions?
Thanks, Ian. Yeah, that's how I do it now...or with the controls in the left side pane. Still, I would have liked that quick on-the-spot edit capability...especially while sketching.
Ian Turner wrote:
Sorry Mark, you are out of luck as it does not do that - it works the same as L8. The way I would achieve that with more accuracy and control would be to route all the tracks you want to fade to a Bus then use volume automation on the bus. To do this you will need to add a standard audio track, then re-assign it using (Control Click on the track header) to the Bus track. You can then automate volume/plugins etc on the Bus track.

Facetime crashes upon connection. I see the other's video under mine, then the program crashes. we are uding emails to connect. my OSX = 10.7.5, dual quad core (5.1)
Hi there,
If you purchased FaceTime from the Mac App Store, the first thing that I would recommend is removing and reinstalling the application. Take a look at the articles below for more information.
OS X Lion: How to remove Mac App Store apps that appear in Launchpad
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4673
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

If you continue experiencing issues, you may want to review the article below for some further troubleshooting instruction.

Hope that helps,

PRE7 - Program crashes as soon as rolling title is selected
XP-Pro/2GB RAM/Quad Q6600/SATAII disks
After fiddling around with various settings, I have now got the program to edit AVCHD reasonably reliably, and have edited a 8 minute film with AVCHD 1920 x 1080 footage plus a few 10MPx JPEG stills.
I created rolling end-titles which work OK. I now want to make some changes to the titles. As soon as I select the rolling title the program crashes and exits. I have tried creating a new title rather than editing the existing, and even starting a new project with only the title. The result is always the same.
Any ideas?1. I attach a screen print of the Processes in a Word document. Is that the way to do it?
I do not know about the .DOC, but I know that a TXT file would work fine. Because of Word Macros, .DOC's might be blocked. Do not see an attachment yet.
2.Project and Scratch files are all folders together on the data, not the system disk. PRE7 is installed on the System disk.
This is good.
3.I'll need reminding how to find Virtual Memory and Page File info.
Control Panel>System>Advanced>Performance/Settings>Advanced>Virtual Memory/Change (do not change it, just read what it says). The exact path might differ by OS version. Syntax may change, but will be similar.
4. Some history on the USB oddity. Before I installed PRE7, I had a problem after updating my drivers. The latest VIA chip drivers for USB loaded fine (apparently) but thereafter all the USB 2.0 ports were turned in fact to USB 1.0
Many have reported all sorts of problems with the VIA chipset. This is an odd one, but not totally surprising, based on so many other issues.
The only oddity thereafter is the one I have described. The disk identification numbers are displayed in Device Manager/Disk Drives e.g "Hitachi HDP725050GLA360" but nothing else. If however I plug a USB card reader in, this appears not only as a Mass Storage Device under USB Controllers but also as four "GENERIC STORAGE Device USB Device" under Disk Drives alongside the real disks. It works fine.
The reason that your card reader shows up as multiple drives, is that its a multi-reader and has basically an identity for each type of card that it can read. One of mine shows up as 8 drives, and my HP All-in-one printer shows up as a drive, because it has a card reader.
On booting, the two SATA II disks are correctly identified as such in the BIOS. They run from the onboard chip as does the IDE Disk. The IDE Disk came from another computer but all the Disks were installed at the same time when I built the computer.
This is good and rules out a BIOS issue with regard to the HDD's.
The only other possibility is that I downloaded my PRE7 as a trial version. However I didn't "buy" this installation but bought the boxed set and installed that. My recollection is that I uninstalled the original version, but there seem to be other installation folders that don't belong to the "proper" installation. Is PRE7 getting confused somewhere?
Now, this might make a difference. I have far less experience with PE, and also have never done a trial of any Adobe software, but...
In PrPro CS2 - CS3 and CS4, the trial could not just be removed. Once it was uninstalled, the appropriate Adobe CleanScript had to be run (sometimes 3 - 4 times), before the full-paid version could be installed. There were many issues, if one did not do this. The Adobe CleanScripts were available by version number, i.e. CS3 to clean up after the CS3 trial, before installing the CS3 full version. This was very important, and had to be done. Where I am in the dark is I have never heard of an Adobe CleanScript for PE - any version. I also could not find one on the Adobe site. Maybe someone can help me out here.
Given the problems that you are experiencing. I would back up all of your Projects, including the Scratch Disks for those Projects. Unless you've been moving your Assets into the Project folder structure, they should be good to stay where they are.
Next, I'd uninstall PE (did you have PSE trial too?), and then manually remove any "other" Adobe PE folders (be careful if you have other Adobe programs, and limit yourself to JUST the Adobe PE folders.
Run a Registery Cleaner, like CCleaner several times. You want the Registry Cleaner part of that program, as it does other cleanup duties. Right now, it's just cleaning the Registry. Once 100% clean, reinstall PE, and test.
Good luck,
Hunt -
Program crashes - hardware or software problem?
Hello,
I just purchased a 15" MacBook Pro. I am a Windows-switcher and just getting used to the OS, as this is my first Apple computer since my old Apple IIGS.
I am trying to get the piano emulator, Pianoteq, to work. According to the system requirements, the MacBook Pro should excel. However, when I use it, the program crashes at random times ranging from a few seconds to a few minutes of use. My question is, does anyone know, basically, what the problem is? Is there a problem with my hardware that I need to address? Maybe something I should fix while under warranty. Or there a problem with Pianoteq's software working with Leopard?
I have a Yamaha digital piano and a Midisport Uno MIDI-to-USB cable. As this is a new computer, I do not have any 3rd party utilities installed.
Here are (what I think) the relevant parts of the crash report:

Thanks.Well, I checked into the driver issue and thought I found the answer. The M-Audio website showed that there is no Leopard driver for my MIDI-USB cable. I discovered a generic driver at: namedfork.net/midisportloader and installed it.
My piano keyboard worked with Pianoteq for the rest of the night, I thought the problem was history. However, this morning it only worked for a couple of minutes and then the same problem. Re-installing the generic driver didn't help this time.
I believe this probably is an issue with the M-Audio MinisportUNO MIDI-USB. Hopefully they will have a Leopard driver soon.
Thanks for setting me on the right track. -
My wife has been having problems with Safari, and many third party software and malware programs infecting her Mac Book Pro. I have tried to reset Safari but it keeps coming back, taking over Safari, changing defaults, start pages, and search engines, Etc.
Is it safe to use programs like MacKeeper, who keeps send my wife's computer message and alerts, or should I just wipe the drive and start over?
SkipI am having lot's of lag time with Safari, etc..
I'll type in a website.. and it will take 15-20 seconds to start..

Several programs crash with Glib-GIO error
in my notebook several programs crash with an error ouput:
(here for firefox)
(firefox:6303): GLib-GIO-CRITICAL **: g_simple_async_result_set_from_error: assertion `error != NULL' failed
(firefox:6303): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_error_free: assertion `error != NULL' failed

Speicherzugriffsfehler
- firefox crashes every time i try to browse for a file (fileupload form).
- nautilus --no-desktop crashes also before the gui is loaded with the same error output.
- same to brasero
- same to gnomebaker
- evince crashes on open/file (again when browser should be opened)
thunar works, seems there is a problem with nautilus or any gnome's lib
on my another pc also running arch, there are no such problems.. would be great if anyone would help.
every hint is welcome, since i'm pretty frustrated.. google and irc didn't help.
thank you in advanceHi
I experience a very similar problem.
Whenever I insert a blank CDrom or a blank dvd some applications crash that somehow access the dvd drive. these are brasero or listen, that I'm aware of, for the moment.
others like gnome-baker do fine. nautilus as well is doing fine.
brasero:
(brasero:25610): GLib-GIO-CRITICAL **: g_simple_async_result_set_from_error: assertion `error != NULL' failed
(brasero:25610): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_error_free: assertion `error != NULL' failed
(brasero:25610): GLib-GIO-CRITICAL **: g_simple_async_result_set_from_error: assertion `error != NULL' failed

Segmentation fault
listen does:
(listen.py:25694): GLib-GIO-CRITICAL **: g_simple_async_result_set_from_error: assertion `error != NULL' failed
sys:1: Warning: g_error_free: assertion `error != NULL' failed
(listen.py:25694): GLib-GIO-CRITICAL **: g_simple_async_result_set_from_error: assertion `error != NULL' failed
(listen.py:25694): GLib-GIO-WARNING **: (gfile.c:5244):IA__g_file_load_partial_contents_finish: runtime check failed: (g_simple_async_result_get_source_tag (simple) == g_file_load_contents_async)
/usr/bin/listen: line 1: 25694 Segmentation fault LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/lib/firefox python -OO /usr/lib/listen/listen.py $@
So it's bothering as all the time i want to burn something listen will crash.
Otherwise I'm using gnome-baker for burning, so it's ok.
but bothering.
This might help you.
If I can give u more information, just tell me (but I have to tell u: I'm not a big pro!) -
Setup program crashes when you try to install a 2007 Office on a 64-bit version of Windows 7
Hello there,
I have a Dell Vostro machine with Windows 7 Pro 64-bit installed on it. It came with Office 2010 preinstalled on it. About 6 months ago I removed Office 2010 and installed Office 2007 with no problems. Yesterday a user messed up her office so badly
that I had to uninstalled it in an attempt to reinstall to ensure that all missing files exist. A few seconds after selecting my options, the installation program crashes. I tried it with a few different users logged in to make sure it's something related
to the profile of the user I was logged in as.
Just to be clear, this is the same Office 2007 installation that was installed correctly on it about 6 months ago and the same product key.
Why is this happening and how can I fix this issue without having to restore the computer to its default state?
Any help is appreciated.
Thank you,Hi,
Please refer to this kb, use Microsoft Fix it 50154 to uninstall Office 2007 completely:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928218/en-us
Then try installing again.
We can also perform a clean boot to install, which gets rid of the background program conflicts:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135
Hope this can help.

Melon Chen
TechNet Community Support -
After the latest Security Update 2012-001 (Mac OS X 10.6.8) my Adobe Photoshop CS 8, Dreamweaver 8, and InDesign CS programs crash when I try to save a file. HELP!!!
Howdy,
Apparently some are reporting that this causes the older PowerPC (PPC) applications that are supported in 10.6 via 'Rosetta' to crash upon attempting to open/save/print using any dialog box, or fail in other similar ways such as simply not printing or quitting, or freezing/hanging/crashing of the application.
I have read of some companies that have indeed submitted proper bug reports to Apple, but that is not a guarantee of a bug-fix being issued.
You might wish to read:
http://www.macintouch.com/readerreports/snowleopard/index.html#d02feb2012
If you are unsure if you are still using PowerPC apps, if the application is currently running, look under the 'Activity Monitior' (in Applications -> Utilities), or alternatively you could check in the System Profiler, Applications. Check the column "Type".
Here is a fairly simple way you can restore you system and restore you applications functionality again, if you don't have a recent clone or good Time Machine backup that you can restore from. If you do, restore from your backup prior to having installed the Security Update 2012-001.
Time Machine restore: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1427
If you are restoring a backup made by a Mac to the same Mac
With your backup drive connected, start up your Mac from the Lion recovery partition (Command-R at startup) or Mac OS X v10.6 installation disc. Then use the "Restore From Time Machine Backup" utility. Select the backup prior to your issues, and it will be restored back to the state it was in at that time.
If you can't easily restore from a backup, you can instead do the following:
- You first start by reinstalling your OS X 10.6.x, this will preserve all your user data, your applications, no worries there.
- Then install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 (links provided below)
- Make sure you're printers are showing up correctly in your system preferences, if not, re-add the printers
- Then finally, run the Apple Software Update (by pulling down the Apple Menu), and install any and all remaining updates, except do not then re-install the Security Update 2012-001. It is possible that you may have to reboot after installing some of the updates, and you may even need to run it a 2nd time to make sure that you've got all updates, except NOT the Security Update 2012-001.

Photoshop CS4 (11.0.2) Constantly Crashing on Retina MacBook Pro
Hello!
I have tried to search for solutions to fix a probem I am having but I did not find much help.
Everytime I use Photoshop CS4 (11.0.2) on my MacBook Pro with Retina display (OS X 10.8.2, 2.6GHz Intel Core i7), the software randomly keeps on crashing without warning. There is no specific thing that I do that makes it crash. I just edit an image like I usually do on Photoshop such as moving objects, creating new layers, and clicking on different sets of tools and the program crashes.
I haven't done much work on it recently but I sometimes also had trouble saving Photoshop files. I don't remember exactly but whenever I save, a error message pops up and tells me that I cannot save the file; saving with a different file name works but I have to constantly make "file1.psd, file2.psd, file3.psd" to aviod the error message.
I haven't tried out my other CS4 Web Preimium softwares on my new MacBook yet and don't have the install disk for it right now since I forgot to bring it with me to study abroad so I can't try reinstalling it.
Is there anything I can do to solve the issue?
Thank you!Hello Sudarshan!
I've checked the CrashReporter folder but there seems nothing other than the MobileDevice. But I did use Photoshop again and got the "Photoshop quit unexpectedly" message. I'll paste it below (if it's the same thing as you are looking for).
Thanks!

Programs crashing after security update 2014-002
I installed the latest security update for Mavericks today and since then I've had two programs crash repeatedly.
In iTunes, when I click on "Add to Library," iTunes shuts down.
In Photoshop Elements 12, when I try to save a photo, the program shuts down.
Has anyone else had similar problems? I can't think of anything else that would be causing this, as it hasn't happened before.
Note: I have a late 2013 Macbook Pro with Retina.Bump. I'm having a similar issue.
Since installing the latest Mavericks security update, my Retina MacBook Pro (13-inch, Late 2013) has crashed and restarted a minimum of once per day for no apparent reason. -
"Error Compiling Movie: Unknown Error" or program crash when rendering
I just built a new PC because my Macbook Pro couldn't render fast enough. Now that I have built this brand new computer, I can't render at all! I render once and get the "Error Compiling Movie: Unknown Error" and if I try to render again, the program crashes.
My files are not corrupt as I can render them without problems on my laptop (just slowly) and on a friend's PC. I can export fine but the project I am working in is currently very small. I have 450gb of space and when using After Effects, rendering is a breeze. I have restarted, uninstalled and reinstalled and nothing seems to be doing the trick.
I feel like this must be a bug in Premiere Pro CC. Has anyone had this problem and/or come up with any solutions?You may have more luck getting help with this kind of problem on the AME forum. Or at least have a look at this page from the AME forum prompting you for the information that can help in isolating the cause of this problem: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1011883.

Firefox always takes a minute and a half or more to start from cold under XP Pro SP3, and often fifteen seconds or more on subsequent starts. No other browser takes anything like as long. It is quicker under Win 7, starting in 4.3 secs., but this machine has very little software, and is virtually new. I keep the startup files in msconfig as small as possible.
I had the same problem tried all the tips, from customizing ff settings to add-ons cleaning...
Firefox taked minimum 30 seconds to start.
My problem was my AV, Kaspersky 9.0.0.736
I put
C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\
and
C:\Documents and Settings\Lolo\Application Data\Mozilla\
in trusted zone.
Now he starts in 3 seconds.

Program crashes without error message when opening a database
One of our users is experiencing an issue with Discoverer Desktop whereby the program crashes with no error message when he attempts to open a database from a local or network drive. If he logs in to Windows as himself, and runs Discoverer as himself, the program crashes under any Discoverer login; if I log in to Windows using an admin account, and run the program under the same context, the same issue occurs; however, if I log in to Windows as the user and run the program under the context of admin, the error does not occur under any Discoverer login.
I've tried removing and reinstalling the program but this has not alleviated the issue. The program version is 10.1.2.55 running on Windows XP SP3. If there are any other relevant details required to diagnose the issue I will gladly provide them. Could someone please help me resolve this?
Edited by: 805312 on Oct 27, 2010 6:25 AMWelcome to the forums !
Has this ever worked ? Pl see if MOS Doc 197716.1 (Running Discoverer Desktop on Windows 2000 Or Later Releases As a Restricted User Fails With "Failed to update the system registry. Please try using REGEDIT.") can help.
One option might be to install Process Monitor (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896645.aspx) to identify the cause of the issue.

The program has set of OCI datatype converion calls from C native to Oracle types. The program crashes in OCI calls specifically in OCINumberFromReal. Below is the stack for the core dump created.
In call to OCINumberFromReal, when it refences lnxren function, the program crashes with SIGBUS.
The application in on solaris 10 and Oracle 11g.

Thanks in advance
satishhi Nikeda,
I replaced the sizeof(double) to DBL_DIG/FLT_DIG constant, now the program doesn't crashes but the conversion is not happening properly.
The result of any number after conversion is "0".
Any suggestions, Thanks in advance .. below is the code snippet u asked for ..
class ABC
double qty ;
ott structure
struct abc_ott
OCINumber qty ;
// pro*c code
EXEC SQL BEGIN DECLARE SECTION ;
abc_ott * abc_ott_inst ;
EXEC SQL END DECLARE SECTION ;
EXEC SQL ALLOCATE :abc_ott_inst ;
ABC * abc = new ABC ;
abc->qty = 100.0 ;

// call with DBL_DIG
