PROJECT DUE TODAY __ NEED HELP!!!

i posted earlier about how DVDStudio is quitting itself while rendering the menu. i think exactly what it says is rendering menu1, language menu. i sat here and watched it for 4 hours and it gets to 60%, shuts down. no file to be found, nothing. i have used the burn, format/build, and stopped that and i just want to build it. i have rebuilt, recompressed, and re-encoded this movie countless times, so please do not tell me to re-compress, encode, or import my files - that IS NOT working.
i can't just throw it together via iDVD, as the menu has already been approved in the first proof and is what they are expecting. this just started happening this weekend, i'm not sure what's going on. PLEASE HELP!!!

ps - dvdstudio 4, powerbook G4, external 800 gb raid drive holds all the video files and i have tried to set preferences to build to that drive and to the system drive. i have encoded via compressor AND dvd studio.

there is no chance for me to copy it, as DVDSP shuts down too quickly.
when i re-open the program, there is no record of my effort to build prior. everything reads completed until it reaches "rendering Menu 1, Language 1", then it takes appx 4 hours to render 60%, then it closes up.
i have done an "updated" installation and now i am re-encoding again to try to start over. this is a very simple project. one menu consisting of 4 loops (m2v), one audio track in menu (ac3), and one text button that leads to an 8 minute long track (m2v).

HELP!! Flash project due monday and need help asap

I am a student of the University of Phoenix and I am taking a multi media class, I was given an assingment to create a flash movie given a code to place in the movie and I cannot get it to work, I have one error, I also have no experiance with codes it wasn't a prereq., I need help and the Academic Advisor told me to post here, I am getting nowhere fast please help me! noone's going to be able to help you much with the swf (unless they are willing to decompile it). you could copy and paste the code in this forum and probably get some help. and, if you uploaded your fl somewhere and posted a link, you might get some help.

I'm reasonably new to indesign but know the basics. I have a deadline today but my InDesign CS6 is behaving strangely - If anyone could help me I would be HUGELY appreciative.
I'm trying to type like I normally would but whenever I try to place a piece of punctuation at the end of a paragraph or line, it places it at the start of the line.. even if my cursor is telling it to do differently. (see image)
I'm trying to place it at the end of legibility where my cursor is but it places it at the start of clarity at the start of the line!? does anyone have any ideas, need help with this ASAP

@Joel – do you work with the Adobe World-Ready-Composer in conjunction with a RTL (Right-To-Left) character format? Maybe you could show us your paragraph with "Hidden Characters"on. Together with your definitions of the character style for the dot, the character style for all other characters and the paragraph style.
I could mimic something like you are showing with a very strange set of scripts generating a paragraph style and two character styles in InDesign CS5.5.

My media drive has 300gig available. With approximately 250 minutes of source material to digitize I fear I may run too low on space capturing uncompressed. I am digitizing with the AJA IO. My source material is 90 percent Beta, and 10 percent MiniDV from a GL2 via firewire.

A) use the “Offline RT NTSC”setting and then redigitize only the sequence material needed? When I try this, I get a warning that reads; “UNABLE TO LOCATE EXTERNAL DEVIVE…APPLE FIRE WIRE 720X480”.
B) use "AJA IO – NTSC 8 bit to Offline RT". Since my show will be projected, I really would like the end result to be as high quality as possible. However, when I use this setting, my footage is unrendered in my time line. When I confirm the settings under AUDIO/VIDEO SETTINGS, the Capture setting reads: AJA-IO ypbpr Betacam 8-bit NTSC US to Offline NTSC (Photo JPEG)”
What am I doing wrong? I hope I explained this well. I’m confusing myself at this point.

Text loading and formating in menu based project??? need help

so here is my deal, code follows, i can get the text to load from a txt. file in the project folder but i can get it to behave the way i need it too. 1. the formating is not working 2. i cant get it to null after i navigate away from the page. You don't appear to show any attempt to apply the format to the textfields. You either set it as the default before you add text or set it to the format after it has been written to the textfield. Here is a link to help documentation that will explain...

As far as nulling goes, there is no attempt shown for that as well, so it is not really clear (to me) what you intend/mean as far as nulling it. To clear a textfield you can just assign iut an empty string... as in ""

Shot in the dark... project due in 36 hours. help?

Hi everyone. I am posting this here because I have had no luck with any other program or anyone I've been able to ask (a handful of computer science students). What I am trying to do is a fairly simple operation that I would really really like to have done for my presentation friday morning. If anyone would be able to write a script, point me to a similar script, or give me a head start/ a sample script to start working with I would immensely appreciative; I don't know of any way to repay any of you but if I can find a way I will do it. My problem:
I have 5 lines. They are exactly the same line, the same x,y coordinates; they entirely overlap each other. Their only difference is that their stroke weights vary. What I am looking to do is basically find the average stroke width of these lines. Ideally the output would be in a new line with those same x,y coordinates with the new stroke weight. A text output, any output of any kind would be perfect.
I have attached a pdf visually explaining what I am trying to do to this thread.
Again, if anyone can help me in any way, I would be forever grateful. Thank you

The PCR here is used to monitor and analyze the temperature of the substance. I'm supposed to make a user interface with 4 display of graphs overlapping each other. And the buttons are used to control which graph should come up first. Once when a button is shown, the button should greyed out. I've attached on an example that my supervisor gave me on how it should look like. Thanks!

You do know where the project is, don't you? Select the project in the finder and get info for thr project. How big is the file.
You can find how to trash your preferences <a class="jive-link-external" href="http://www.fcpbook.com/Misc1.html">here</a>.
You do have the media on separate drive, don't you? If yes, unmount the drive with the application closed. Drag it to the trash. Trash your preferences. Launch the application. Reset the scratch disk if you have to. Open the project. What happens?

6710b HD santized due to virus, need help!

Dear Cheryl, Dave, Mumba, anyone.....
As the subject stated, due to a virus which I could not clean, I did a disk sanitize....(and did it well!)
Anyway thanks to you guys and earlier post from over a year ago, I found your advice and walked through this again. I had trouble with NTLDR not found and disabled Native Sata. That allowed me to rebuild everything. Except that as I created a partition of 1200MB it did do to "C" drive and the extent of my other 180GB are on "E".
I tried early on to reboot from the OS disk, (of which it is partnered with "RestorePLUS! disk) one one has to verify the other, a real nightmare. It could not reboot from either disk (same NTLDR message)
So how can I rectify this screwup other than reinstalling everything again, if it will allow me to do so?
Two and 1/2 days.....!

Hello garysit. I understand you're having some trouble reinstalling your operating system.
Are the discs you are using to reinstall self-made recovery media or did you get them through HP?
It seems as though the media cannot be read and you'd likely need another set. The discs will, however, create their own partition scheme (which will be exactly the same as it was from the factory).
To order a set give HP Support a call at 1-800-474-6836 if you're in the US/Canada. If you're in another area you'll need to visit HP Support Worldwide to locate your region's contact information.

Design for wireless project....need help....

i have a requirement from client and need suggestions on the design. Client has 1 main office and 5 remote branches. client requires wireless in all offices. approx 600 access points with 100 in each location client requires all wireless access points to be registered at HO controller and a redundant controller to be at the branch. if the controllet @ HO goes down access point to be served by the controller local to the site.
Is this type of a design possible ? kindly do help me in suggesting the best for my clent.

The 7500 has two 10 gig connections that can be used. So you will need a 10 gig module to connect that to. You don't need to use a tertiary wlc unless you have one available. Usually two is good enough. Again.. You need to decide if you want to go local or h-reap. You can go either way, but why put one wlc in HQ and the other at the remote site. If your concern is 100% redundancy, then put two out at each site. If you have more money to use, then add another WLC at HQ for your tertiary. Now I don't think you need more than a 5508-500 at HQ because the percentage of loosing all 6 sites WLC's is pretty slim. If you go h-reap, then put the WLC's at HQ. Get 3 5508-500 for redundancy unless you have the WiSM2. If you have 10gig, then two 7500's will do. You have many options.

"Unable to open project file." i need help! URGENT

before the problem...
my film project and all its files were in a WD external drive. i had some problems with soundtrack pro being too slow because the files were on an external drive, so i bought 2 Internal Seagate drives. i moved all my files to the internal drives, and i changed my scratch disk to my new drive.
i have done this procedure several times before, and i never faced this problem before!
after...
so i went on to launch my FCP project, and while loading i got this message "Unable to open project file."
how can i fix it?

i reformatted it, and moved the files again... and surprisingly, it worked!
computers have a mind of their own sometimes!
but now i have another problem... i opened soundtrack pro to work on the same project, but its very slow! it keeps freezing whenever i want to make any actions.

Need Help - Projects Due Next Week!

I am trying to absorb all of the information available for ODI/ODP/ODQ. I have several Proof-Of-Concept projects due next week.
The following are the project POC requirements:
Scenarios:
Duplicate Person - Based on a single source table, de-duplicate the records based on LastName plus 1st character of Firstname plus (DOB -or- SSN).
Inconsistent Data - Single table with thousands of entries separated out by a "division". Each division could use a column for differing purposes. For example, Division A uses ColumnX as "Achievement Level" and Division B uses ColumnX as "Work Skills". There are two targets in this case. So I would have to route the records from Division A to TargetA, and records from Division B to TargetB.
Dirty Data - Table containing "standard" code columns with invalid values. Need to compare these values to a code cross-reference table formatted like:
CodeXRef Table
Category VARCHAR(20)
SourceCode VARCHAR(100)
TargetCode VARCHAR(100)
The standard code from the source table would be "looked up" in the CodeXRef table (by field category). The TargetCode value would be used to populate the target. If a match is not found in this case, I need to record the error and move on.
Now to the problem - The install of Oracle DQ (which I assume I need for Scenario - Duplicate Person) does not work on my Windows XP machine (TSS Scheduler doesn't respond during install - see previous thread I have left). The install works on a Win 2003 server we have, but going through the DQ tutorial, on the last few pages, it gives instructions on how to export the sample project for ODI. However, after following the instructions I receive several errors (see a previous thread I left today). So far this tool does not seem to be ready to use, at least for Windows platforms. Does anyone have a few moments to help me out? Perhaps walk through fixing the install? Give best practices/tips on how to achieve the scenarios listed above in the short time frame I have?
I have read the instruction manuals, read this forum (almost all threads) and still don't have answers. I have several types of Instant Messengers installed, so communications should not be an issue.

Although the default action of the submit button is to send the data to the processing script identified in the action attribute, you don't want the form to be submitted when you're using Ajax.
The following is a very simple script that outputs to the browser console the value entered in the form field. To keep the script simple, I have used the W3C Event model, so this won't work in IE 8 or earlier. But it should help you understand how to get the value from a form input field using JavaScript.

Yea I am. I deleted Logic Pro 9 and moved the App to the Trashcan like normal. Then when I go to install it, it says its already Installed. When I do this with other apps; it works fine, the install thing comes back up like it should once you have deleted the app

I have text on it's own layer, typed it directly into flash, there are two text fields on this layer. I created at motion tween to move the text from the center of my stage to the top of my stage at about halfway on my scene1 timeline and then it sticks there til the end of that scene. My issue is, my text will display and animate when I run the timeline in flash. But when I hit CTRL Enter for the preview, it's no where to be found. I've even tried embedding the text to see if that would help! Kinda freakin' out here, so any help would be great. Does anyone know why this is happening?
I'm using Flash Professional CS5 with an ActionScript 3.0 file.
