Prometric issues

I have been on hold with Prometric to register for my Property and Casualty test for FIVE HOURS!! It would not allow me to register online. First I had problems with my browser, when I finally found a computer that was compatible with the very volatile
website, I tried to go forth to register for my test and after I entered my social security number I got an error message and was told to call a phone number. I called this number and for whatever reason have been on hold for a majority of my day. So
now I cannot register online and apparently no one is working in the call center because no one has answered the phone all day. This is a nightmare. I have no idea how I am supposed to register for my test or better yet how to even get in touch with an actual
person to discuss my issues. I need help. I did not spend the entire day on the phone for nothing. I need to get in contact with an actual person.

Do you know the test sponsor/state for your property/casulty exam?
Navigate your web browser to the Schedule page (below) and identify the test sponsor. Since the insurance exams are state-specific, you will need to find the state you want to pass the exam for.

  • Problem with Prometric exam center

    Hi,
    I would like to find out where can I get help if I face problem with Prometric exam.  
    I had registered with Prometric for exam 70-647 on 16-Sep at 10:00AM.
    On 16-Sep, I reach the exam venue and was inform that the exam venue was close.
    I had wasted 7 hours on that day (2 hours travel from my home to exam venue, waited at exam venue for 3 hours and take another 2 hours to return home) and didn't manage to sit for exam. I keep calling exam venue phone number on that day and no one is answering
    the call.
    Upon return home, I submit a complaint to Prometric using the form on their website.
    Prometric only reply me with an email 2 days later asking me to call their candidate care number.
    I call Prometric candidate care and spend 10 minutes to explain to them my problem as if they never receive my complaint. Prometric told me their system show that the exam venue is not close on that day and I have to call the exam venue to re-schedule the exam.
    I then call the exam venue and was inform that I need to call Prometric to re-schedule the exam for me. They say their system does not show that I had register for the exam on 16-Sep. I had explain to exam venue that it was Prometric who ask me to call them
    to re-register. They told me they will call Prometric on this issue and get back to me.
    After one day without return call from either exam venue or Prometric, I decided to call Prometric again. I then have to spend time to explain to them the problem that I face from beginning (I can't understand why a large organisation like Prometric don't keep
    a log of customer feedback/complaint and expect customer keep explaining to them whenever customer call back). Prometric then told me they never receive any update from exam venue that they were close on 16-Sep and expect me to keep calling exam venue to get
    them update Prometric that they were close on that day. The guy from Prometric candidate care refuse to take ownership of this problem to call the exam venue to find out whether it was close on exam date.
    I then call the exam venue again and was inform that Prometric's number is busy whenever they trying to call them. They told me they can't help me to re-register for exam, only Prometric can help me to re-register for exam.
    It seems like none of Prometric Candidate care or exam venue want to take ownership of this problem.
    Please advice who can assist me with this issue?

    Myself Snehalkumar, 30 Jan 2014, I scheduled to have an exam on 23 March April2014. I went 1 Hour Before at Site Location Which Is above.
    At Site location, No one is there except security. I called on above site location number no one picked up the phone. I got the number from security 919879261687 that person (Sajesh Thomas) was managed/arranged at there. I talked with him and he replied me
    that there is no more Prometric center here its only for L&T employees.
    He gave me another number 09313978791 and said that talked to him, he is regional head  of Promatric I think his name is Utkarsh Pande.
    I cleared state him what i can do now? I came faraway (90kms) from here for attending an exam. He asked me what exam it is? I said 74-409. He said that its free exam so reschedule it. What about my time and petrol to come from 90 km?
    I was very frustrated to listen this kind of answer. I am very disappointed and I said that i will complaint to Microsoft and Promatric center. He answered that go for the complaint. Just because he is  regional Manger so he is careless to manage/arrange
    and give me pathetic answer.
    And give me another number and that was call center number 01244517160. He said that called tomorrow at call center. This is just one center of Promatric center that comes under him . How about other center? Same thing happen at other center which comes under
    him.
    And L&T person (At site location) said that talked to regional head of Promatric Center. If regional head give me this kind of answer, Where should i go. I was waiting for long time and think what to do next? At some stage i was very depress.
    I wasted time and money and went back to home 90kms without appearing an exam just because some irresponsible person forgot to arranged an Exam.
    If  there is no more Promatric center at this site than Why they did not contact to let me know  that there  is no longer Promatric center? even day before, if they send me a mail or make a call its ok for me. but that did not happen.
    Why on Promatric schedule list to see this site location if no more Promatric center. If its for L&T employees only than please specified that for only L&T employees or remove it from the schedule list so no one will have problem like i had.
    I logged into Promatric Center website. I click on rescheduling an exam but that filed was empty so  no way to reschedule it.
    Now you tell me what should i do after facing this problem?

  • How do I get lost Sylvan OCP certificates re-issued/confirmed

    I had done my Oracle 7, 8, 8i and 9i DBA OCP through Sylvan Prometric years ago and during a break-in at my house, the certificates got stolen. I now need to urgently get hold of these certificates, but Sylvan says that they are archived and I need to contact Oracle
    I registered with Pearson Vue and after receiving my username and password, I went into my account history, but nothing shows up, as I had not done my certifications through them.
    How do I go about to get these certificates re-issued/verified?

    You should contact [email protected] and provide your name, as it was provided when you registered for your exam, your Prometric ID and the list of certifications in question. They will not be able to provide you with score reports from your exams, but they will be able to assit with replacing any certificates that you have earned. You should also let them know that you have created your profile with Pearson VUE and ask them for the information that you will need to get authorized on CertView. They should be able to provide you with the exact info to enter so that you won't have to wait for manual authorization.

  • Status in Prometric Website under candidate history showing "Pending".

    I taken my 70-486 (Microsoft mvc 4.0) exam in prometric center on 5/17/2014 and passed with 940/1000 and they given printed mark sheet but in prometric  website under candidate history  status column showing "Pending" instead of pass. I
    used Microsoft "3 for 1 voucher" so to write my 2nd exam i need status to be update to "Passed". I have just 13 days time . the vouchers ends on may 31st and i need to write 2 more exam. I have no idea what to do. Please guide me.

    First, congratulations on passing the 70-486 exam. It is a tough exam. If this is your first Microsoft exam, it can take a little bit of time for Microsoft to build an account for you.
    If this is not the first exam, it generally takes 24-48 hours for the records on Prometric to update. Check again today to see if it has changed.

    I got OCP certification in the past in Oracle8, Oracle9i and Oracle10g with Sylvan Prometric. One month ago I registered at certview Oracle site and Pearson VUE site, believing finding my history exams and certification Status. But it has not been so.
    Then, i decided to log a SR, SR Number=23552675 asking for help and information about my issue, but till now i did not receive any answer.
    I do not know why my OCP data are not present on certview site.
    In the next future, i would like also take the Oracle11g upgrade exam and i do not know which ID i will have to use, Sylvan ID, Pearson VUE ID???

  • Prometric Test Center Problems

    Hello;
    Has anyone else experienced problems with Prometric tests?  For years we have all been told it is the test center, but the reality is, it's Prometric software is ancient and does not run on anything new.  They require WinXP or Win7 (32
    bit only) and Server 2008 RTM (32 bit also).  I have it running in three centers on brand new equipment with 10 times the processor and memory requirements and it still takes 55 seconds just to log into an administration machine.  It takes 30
    minutes to register and setup a test.  More than 50% of the clients coming in to take a test do not start on time because the software is so slow.
    I know Prometric has like a gazillion tests they can run for all kinds of companies, but doesn't anyone else realize they run so poorly?  The worst thing is, they are the only choice to go to in order to take a Microsoft exam. 
    There should be some serious changes made.
    Has anyone else experienced issues when trying to take a Prometric test?

    Prometric and VUE keep separate exam histories, they don't get merged. But the exams that you passed on either provider are sent to Microsoft, and you can see them in your Transcript. Log-in to
    www.microsoft.com/mcp using the Live ID that you associated to your MCP after you passed your first exam, and then follow the links to see your Transcript. All your passed exams should be there.

  • Certview Issue

    My last exam (10g 042) was taken in 2007 via Prometric. Last week I create a new Vue account, it seems that both the Prometric & Vue accounts have merged as my Vue account now refers to my old prometric testing ID (SR***). Great !!.
    The problem is with Certview, I've trying to create an account and verifing it. When I submit my details (including the SR number) I get the following error message
    We are sorry, but we are still unable to verify your information. Your account has been referred to our
    Service department for manual processing. You should expect to be contacted within seven business days.
    If you have any questions, contact [email protected]
    I've email Oracle on the above email address but I've had no reply.. Has anybody else had a similar issue ?

  • Prometric Centre Problem

    Hello,
    I scheduled OCE(RAC 11gr2) exam for tomorrow(online from preason site) and today I got the information from Prometric Centre in-charge that there is some problem and I will have to reschedule the exam to other prometric centre.
    For the same I called to pearson's help line and explained all the scenario but they told me that, It will take 3-4 days to reschedule the same. I am unable to understand why I am suffering due to prometric Centre problem?
    I am not getting satisfactory answer/solution. Anybody can help me on this issue?

    Just to confirm ... and this is quite important.
    Is the incident number the testing centers incident number or our personal incident number ? If this is the incident number from the test center they would not allow ou to escalte it. If it is an incident number allocated to you personally then it should be able to be escalated. If the person won't escalate .... or cancel the exam with a refund ... get his/her name .... in fact get their name anyway! For this therre should be one incident number for the test center and a different one for you if they wont rebook/cancel it .. and they should link them.
    Hmmmm ....
    One option for this is for you to ring Pearson VUE and get them to cancel your exam and refund ..... (this will take a few days for you to get the refund).
    You can then simply rebook the exam online (if you know another test center). ( In the short term you will have paid twice).
    .... as long as you've not been involved in trying to cancel within 24 hours of the appointment ..... I dont think you are but I expect there are very many who try ..... you will get your money back.
    If all this fails do the following .....
    1) Raise with Peason VUE via email so you have something in writing.
    2) Raise an Oracle SR# here ..... with details on it .. especially the pearson VUE incident number. ( This takes 3 days to get a response).
    3) Report the SR number you get on this forum.
    .... If you get luck Brandye the Certification forum manager will look by .. she often does ... but never guarenteed ... and may take it up with Pearson VUE. The Oracle Pearson VUE Agent will most likely not get a easy time.
    ..... You have my sympathy. All here are my best suggestions. Good luck with the exam!

  • Merging Prometric and Pearson VUE data in CertView?

    Background: I passed one exam (SQL) for my OCA under Prometric last month, signed up for Pearson VUE last week, and passed the second exam (Fundamentals I) just today through Pearson. I should thus qualify for OCA.
    I attempted to sign up for CertView using my Pearson ID (OCxxxxxx), but it was not accepted. On my third try, I switched to my Prometric ID (PRxxxxxx), and signing up was successful. I can now see my SQL exam there, but my "Oracle Certification Program ID" is the Prometric code, not OCxxxxxx, and there is no sign of the Fundamentals test.
    So my question is: will this magically resolve itself if I wait the 7-10 days promised for Pearson data to migrate over, or do I need to pester somebody to manually merge the two accounts together?

In fact I am almost certain I recall a comment that exams taken under different Id's was the single biggest cause of missing certficates. I suspect many people were simply losing there original Prometric Registrations, and rather than recovering them simply taking creating a new registration and taking an exam on a new Id and then effectively having go through the merge process with support effort needed by Oracle and Prometric. One could understand considering if a charge would reduce this group. I suspect others unwittingly acquired a duplicate Prometric Id. by for instance an online exam.
    With the recent issue of Certview it may arguably be easier for people to realise there is an issue here, especially if Oracle changed procedures urging people registering with Person VUe who have exisiting exams to check their Oracle Testing Id is consistent. However this would not have been possilbe for you.
    Please remember the Certification forum Moderator, who also happens to be the Certification Programme Manager, may take your comments in a different light, though over the course of a few months I do believe they genuinely do try to help people (and yes I think they tear their hair out sometimes at their own systems!).

    I registered for the 10g DBA II exam on 28th May from one of the Toronto area based Exam center.
    To my surprise, the exam did not start. The Pearson system started asking some Authentication code which the center person doesn't know. I was really upset of not being able to appear for the exam I prepared (you know the mindset of a test taker).
    I started following up with the Pearson Vue Customer care, they have created an incident and so far there has been no progress on this.
    The system doesn't let me reschedule or book the same exam. I want to try taking the exam from different center.
    The help from PearsonVue customer care is very average, I really oracle to intervene.
    Need help from the certification moderator.

    Jay.Its good if you have an incident number, in general you can reply and ask if they can escalate this.
    (This the test center or you raise the incident, and do you have the incident number ? (if not get it) ).
    There has been a weekend, and in some places it was a holiday yesterday. (Probably not canada you will tell me).
    A Pearson VUE representative should be able to reschedule this for you. If you ask nicely enough they might (or might not) help with costs if you give a sob story about time wasted, money wasted, stress ....
    The key work is to request to ESCALATE the incident xxxxx.
    ( It may be that is a test center incident and they are trying to sort the test centers issues .... you need an incident to get a re-test which may be different (but related) ).
    ( I once had a failed test, and they were able to reschedule it for me somehwere else in 2hrs .... (where is also failed !!!! ).
    Pearson VUE will also need to be sure the problem is cleared before they reschedule you.
    ( In general they sort of come somewhat good in the end ... usually ).

  • CertView issues, SQL Expert logo not available

    I was checking CertView and the logo for the Oracle Database SQL Certified Expert doesn't seem to be available, the link is broken or something to that effect. Also it seems there's some errors as there's duplicated rows.
    Anyone else having issues in there?

    If you are having issues such as these with CertView, please outline these issues in as much detail as possible and send to [email protected] Please include your Oracle Candidate ID as well as your SSO user name. This way, we will be able to determine if there is an issue candidate by candidate, or if there is a bigger issue that we need to take back to the technical team.
    Thanks to everyone for your patience on CertView as we work out unexpected kinks. We are working very diligently to get these issues sorted out and ensure that CertView operates as expected.
    Regarding tests at Pearson VUE not showing up in CertView, due to a technical issue, there was a delay in data that was coming to us from Pearson VUE getting uploaded into the database. At this time, we are told that Pearson VUE data up to October 22 should now be included in CertView. The remaining data is still pending. This issue has also affected fulfillment, so if you are expecting a certificate from an exam or exams taken up til now at Pearson VUE, your certificate has been delayed. We expect all kits for certifications completed thru October 22 to be sent by the end of next week. We hope to receive another wave of fulfillment data next week as well to get us caught up.
    Please keep in mind that the transition from Prometric to Pearson VUE was a HUGE transition and we are diligently working out the kinks. Also, during this transition, Oracle released CertView which has had its own set of challenges. We understand that both of these projects have also been challenging for our customers and we appreciate your patience and understanding as we work thru these issues and strive to make these process better!

  • Differenece between Pearson and Prometric

    Hi All,
    I want to appear in the eaxm 1z0-141, I want to ask a few questions here
    1:- Is there any difference between the two testing centers other than the increase in price, and lesser availability of exam dates? (*Because with prometric i have given my first two exams and there was no issue with the dates and Pearson dose not have any availability till next 2 months, and here i basically want to know that the exam questions will also change, as i have already prepared for the exam, and has spent some money on practice exams too :-))
    2:- Is it actually benificial to go for the certifications, since i am working as Oracle Technical Consultant from last three months and had been preparing for this exam before that, so now i have already done enough that's why i feel i should attempt it. But other than this the certifications like Oracle E-biz certifications need a lot of money and in return what i feel is a very little diffrence between an experience certified or non-certified E-biz Functional Consultants.

    Not really, and some / many testing centers may offer exams for both Prometric and Pearson VUE.
    The security at a Pearson VUE center will now be higher than than required when Oracle exams were offered by Prometric; and you now find the sign in and authentication process more strict than previously.
    The availability of exams is testing center dependent, and if one does not offer a exam for the next 2 months consider if there is another nearby that does. A testing center may be unable to offer exams for 2 months because of the individual circumstances, holidays, refurbishment or because they do not have latest security standard equipment required by Pearson VUE. It is more likely this is the reason rather than they have all slots booked up. It may be worth asking the Center themselves and asking from themselves why the exam is not available for 2 months.

  • New DVR Issues (First Run, Channel Switching, etc.)

    I've spent the last 30 minutes trying to find answers through the search with no luck, so sorry if I missed something.
    I recently switched to FIOS from RCN cable in New York.  I've gone through trying to setup my DVR and am running into issues and was hoping for some answers.
    1.  I setup two programs to record at 8PM, I was watching another channel at the time and only half paying attention.  Around 8:02 I noticed a message had popped up asking if I would like to switch channels to start recording.  I was expecting it to force it to switch like my old DVR, but in this case it didn't switch and I missed the first two minutes of one of the shows.  I typically leave my DVR on all day and just turn off the TV, this dual show handling will cause issues with that if I forget to turn off the DVR.  Is there a setting I can change that will force the DVR to choose one of the recording channels?
    2.  I setup all my recordings for "First Run" because I only want to see the new episodes.  One show I setup was The Daily Show on comedy central, which is shown weeknights at 11pm and repeated 3-4 times throughout the day.  My scheduled recordings is showing all these as planned recordings even though only the 11pm show is really "new".  Most of the shows I've setup are once a week so they aren't a problem, but this seems like it will quickly fill my DVR.  Any fixes?

    I came from RCN about a year ago.  Fios is different in several ways, not all of them desirable.  Here are several ways to get--and fix--unwanted recordings from a series recording setup.
    Some general principles. 
    Saving changes.  When you originally create a series with options, or if you go back to edit the options for an existing series, You MUST save the Series Options changes.  Pretty much everywhere else in the user interface, when you change an option, the change takes effect immediately--but not in Series Options.  Look at the Series Options window.  Look at the far right side.  There is a vertical "Save" bar, which you must navigate to and click OK on to actually save your changes.  Exiting the Series Options window without having first saved your changes loses all your attempted changes--immediately.
    Default Series Options.  This is accessed  from [Menu]--DVR--Settings--Default Series Options.  This will bring up the series options that will automatically be applied to the creation of a NEW series. The options for every previously created series will not be affected by a subsequent modification of the Default Series Options.  You should set these options to the way you would like them to be for the majority of series recordings that you are likely to create.  Be sure to SAVE your changes.  This is what you will get when you select "Create Series Recording" from the Guide.  When creating a new series recording where you think that you may want options different from the default, select "Create Series with Options" instead.  Series Options can always be changed for any individual series set up later--but not for all series at once.
    Non-series recordings.  With Fios you have no directly available options for these.  With RCN and most other DVRs, you can change the start and end times for individual episodes, including individual episodes that are also in a series.  With Fios, your workarounds are to create a series with options for a single program, then delete the series later;  change the series options if the program is already in a series, then undo the changes you made to the series options later; or schedule recordings of the preceding and/or following shows as needed.
    And now, to the unwanted repeats. 
    First, make sure your series options for the specific series in question--and not just the series default options--include "First Run Only".  If not, fix that and SAVE.  Then check you results by viewing the current options using the Series Manager app under the DVR menu.
    Second, and most annoying, the Guide can have repeat programs on your channel tagged as "New".  It happens.  Set the series option "Air Time" to "Selected Time".  To make this work correctly, you must have set up the original series recording after selecting the program in the Guide at the exact time of a first run showing (11pm, in your case), and not on a repeat entry in the Guide.  Then, even it The Daily Show is tagged as New for repeat showings, these will be ignored. 
    Third, another channel may air reruns of the program in your series recording, and the first showing of a rerun episode on the other channel may be tagged as "New".  These can be ignored in your series if you set the series option "Channel" to "Selected Channel".  Related to this, if there is both an SD and HD channel broadcasting you series program, you will record them both if the series option "Duplicates" is set to "Yes".  However, when the Channel option is set to "Selected Channel", the Duplicates Option is always effectively "No", regardless of what shows up on the options screen.  
    As for you missing two minutes,  I have sereral instances in which two programs start recording at the same time.  To the best of my recollection, whenever the warning message has appeared, ignoring it has not caused a loss of recording time.  You might have an older software version.  Newest is v.1.8.  Look at Menu--Settings--System Info.  Or, I might not have noticed the loss of minutes.  I regularly see up to a minute of previous programming at the start of a recording, or a few missing seconds at the beginning or end of a recording.  There are a lot of possibilities for that, but the DVR clock being incorrect is not one of them.  With RCN, the DVR clocks occasionally drifted off by as much as a minute and a half.
