Promotion planning and SD, CO-PA

Can anybody send me info about promotion planing and its relation with CO-PA? I also want to get further information about "promotion planing and its customizations on SD.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Are you refering to promotion planning in APO? Promotion planning is usually done by APO but the orders are generated by SD component. For example in promotion planning you plan in advance regarding the free offers to be made to customers. But the real promotional orders are generated by SD. As per CO-PA free of charge orders or samples will not flow into CO-PA at the time of billing but you will have to transfer it through settlement.

Abhisek.

  • Promotion planning and lowest level KF

    Hai,
The promotion key figure has to be the lowest level of detail, which means the KF has to be the lowest in the hierarchy. This means, I can only assign promotions at the lowest level?
For example, a product called DOW white color soaps and a group level called DOW soaps. So as per the promotion planning, I can only set promotions at the DOW white color soaps and not at the group level of DOW soaps? is that true? What if I have a case that I have to specify a promotion at group.
    Thank you.

    Hi Vishu ,
Firstly let me clear you that Promotion Key figure is the key figure in which the data for the promotion is to be stored and the Promotion level is the characteristic at which level the promotion is maintained ,this may be the Locaion or the Product .Yes you need to assign promotion to the lowest level but this does not mean that you can not add promotions at higher level like product grp or Brand .
In promotion base you can define Characteristics (Grp/Brand etc) on which you want to plan promotion.
    For more clarification go thro.

  • Store rep signed me up under the wrong plan and no one in customer service has fixed it in over a month

I was bait and switched. I signed up under the pretense that I was getting the promotional rate of 40gb/$150 that was scheduled to end on November 5 2014.
I walked  into a Verizon wireless store on November 4th with the intent to trade in my iPhone 5s which I was offered $350 trade in value and port over 2 of my lines with T-Mobile under the Verizon promotion. Once I was approved and offered my trade in I was told that the phones I was seeking to purchase from Verizon was not in stock and needed to be ordered, and delivered separately with the iPhone 6 being shipped out November 14 and the iPhone 6+ shipped November 21. Thomas, the Verizon wireless sales representative, also informed me that for me to get the promotional rate I would have to open the account with an active line before the 5th or I wouldn't be able to get the promotional rate since the phones would be delivered past the promotional date period. The sales representative insisted I should add an iPad that  was in stock at the store and I could leave the store with an active account and once my phones were delivered I would be all set to go with my promotional plan and devices. I had no need for an iPad but decided it was worth getting for the sake of the promotion.
ON November 14 I recieved via FedEx a package containing not a iPhone 6 as promised, but a iPhone 6+. I called Verizon to activate the phone that was ported to my personal phone number, and didn't have my iPhone 6 that was set to port my out of state business line and cancel service with T-Mobile on the 14th of November. To say the least I was extremely upset for which I had no means of recieving business calls from North Carolina while I live in Florida. At that point I asked the Verizon customer care representative I had on the phone to see if they could see if there was a store that had the iphone 6 I ordered in stock so that I an could have a business phone the same day. He found a store that had it in stock and it happened to be the store I originally signed up at. I was told that it was in the color and storage capacity I had originally ordered and that I could pick it up at the store to complete my purchase with Verizon. Again, for the sake of having a business line I ran to the store and spoke with Thomas and explained the mix up. upon moving forward I was informed that they had an iPhone 6 in stock with the capacity I had requested but not the same color I had ordered. At that point I didn't care I just needed a phone and proceeded to activate the phone he had in stock And ported over my business line.
After recieving a text from Verizon that I had consumed all of my data just days after I recieved my phones I called Verizon 611 from my phone and spoke to a customer care representative named Fallon, which informed me I was set up on the wrong plan and that she see's the notes that Thomas notated that I was subscribing for a 40gb plan and that she was going to send a  request I D # [removed] form to make the corrections and that there was no need for me to cancel service as I was within my cancelation period, again she insisted that there was no need to cancel and that the request would be granted and she would be calling me once my billing cycle reset and the corrections were made and she would credit my account based on the promotional rate. I NEVER RECIEVED A CALL FROM FALLON! Not even to be notified that the request was denied! I came to realize later in December when I recieved a $1200 bill that this wasn't resolved. I called customer service again and spoke with a gentleman that explained the request was denied and that this will be resolved after I explained what transpired. He assured me that he was going to expedite another request and he would be in contact with me within a few hours....... I'm still waiting for his call as well!
I called again several times in the past few days and have spoken to several supervisors that promised to resolve this matter and call me back promptly........ Again, no one has called me back!
December the 8th I spoke with a supervisor named Victoria which assured me she would get this resolved within the next 24 hours and gave me her direct number to reach her if I didn't hear from her [removed], again I haven't heard from her yet and I've made several attempts to reach her at her direct line to no avail.
December the 9th I spoke with supervisor named Mike employee #[removed] in the Seattle call center, he appoligized for the mix up and that no one has called me back and that he would handle this matter and get back to me today December 10th....... Again no call..... I have spoken to 3 people today all which have made promises to call me back today within a few hours and none that have. I just got off the phone with a supervisor named Vanessa Jentfield at the Chicago call center and saw all the notations and assured me that there is no reason why this shouldn't be corrected and that she would be calling me back tonight or tomorrow. I will be sitting by the phone unless Verizon wireless decides to disconnect my service for non payment of $1200+.........
I have filed a complaint giving a detailed explanation of what has transpired with the FCC as well as the FTC, my next step is to file a small claims lawsuit tomorrow morning with the state of Florida and see if Verizon finds a way to contact me then,I guess I will just have to wait and see.
Personal information removed as required by the Verizon Wireless Terms of Service

It was a good idea to file a complaint with the FCC, someone from Verizon will contact you by phone in an effort to  resolve your issue. I wouldn't suggest small claims court as they have not done anything illegal, (just bad customer service) and their contract with you is usually upheld, which in this case is not for the plan you want. The person contacting you likely has a little more pull, as the call centers can only uphold the written customer agreement made.

  • Called to Cancel, was talked into a discount plan and now I'm being told the discount isn't applicable to the plan I just signed up for??

On August 22nd I called to cancel my service being that my contract was over. My logic was simple. I really didn't use the phone enough to justify a $87/month payment.  The young lady on the phone was very nice and presented to me the $60 plan that is unlimited talk and text with standard data package. After I told her where I work now since my old employee discount had expired she pulled up the data and said "good news, your new company also has a 22% discount with Verizon".  After we did the math together she said that with the discount I'd be saving over $30 a month doing this plan with the employee discount.
Everything has been great so far. I went out and upgraded my phone to a new Iphone 5C, paid the upgrade fee of $30 and the tax on the free phone. Now this month I go to pay my bill at its at $63.  I call and the rep tells me I was misinformed and that the $60 plan is a promotional plan and the employee discounts do not apply.
I'm stuck now since its been over 30 days since I signed up for the plan.  The rep on the phone I spoke to today is very pleasant (his name was Kelley)  and has tried all options to help but no option helps me pay an extra 22% out of pocket for the next 2 years!
I'm demanding that the 22% be honored in monthly or lump sum discounts. OR let me walk away like I wanted to do before without a any cancelation fees!  I've been with Verizon 9 years now and have always been loyal. Not sure this event will keep me around a minute longer than I have to be!
Please help! Review the phone call from August 22nd and stand behind what your employee told the customer.....

We certainly don't want you to leave, O. I apologize that you were given inaccurate information. Unfortunately, we are unable to honor the 22% requested because the plan selected is a promotional plan. I apologize for the inconvenience.

  • APO Demand Planning - promotion planning

    I am using APO V5.
I am interested in promotion planning, and have these two questions:
    1. Is it possible to create 'template promotions', which specify parameters such as number of periods, and use such 'template promotions' when creating an actual promotion?
    2. When I see promotion quantities in cells of an interactive DP planning book view, how can I see reference to the promotion to which the quantities refer?
    Thanks, Bob Austin

    Hi group APO,
Answer to Q1: I think the standard SAP promotion components doesn't the "template" functionality that you are looking for. However, you can create a custom program to do this.
I am thinking of the following:
    1) You will create your "promotion templates" in the standard SAP promotion planning screen.
    2) A custom ABAP program will be created which will copy a certain "promotion template" to a new promotion. The new promotion can later be edited in the promotion planning screen.  The program can use the promotion BAPIs to accomplish this (BAPI_PRMSRVAPS_GETLIST, BAPI_PRMSRVAPS_SAVEMULTI)
Answer to Q2: I am not sure I understand your question correctly. If you go the promotion planning screen, you will be able to see the promotion's "total" values and also the CVCs that has been assigned to this promotion. Alternatively, you can use program /SAPAPO/PROMOTION_REPORTING which comes handy when displaying CVCs and it's promotion or vice versa.
    Hope this helps

  • How do I get the plan and prices I was promised?

My husband and I have been T-Mobile customers for 12 years. But with this new "no contract" thing they're doing (whereby one pays full price for a new device, the perk supposedly being that one does not have to re-up for another two years), we decided we just couldn't stay. We were paying $150/month for unlimited  talk, text, and data--but in one last attempt to get us to stay, they offered us a discount on data that would have brought our bill down to $130/month.
So on Thursday, July 24, I called the Verizon sales line (800-813-3334) and talked to a very nice sales rep named Pamela (she goes by Pam). Pam told me we could get iPhone 5Ss for $99.99 each, and that if we got unlimited talk and text with a two-year agreement, they could throw in 2g/month of data for free. If I bought an additional 2g of data per month (we have literally never used more than 4g per month, so that was fine), our bill would come to $130/month. Perfect! Exactly what T-Mobile had offered us, but with FAR cheaper phones.
I told Pam I would need to talk it over with my husband, and asked if any of these offers were going to expire in the next few days--she said no. I then asked if I had to call her back directly to get these offers, and she said no to that too, but gave me her direct extension just in case.
It took us a week to look at other plans, call other service providers, etc., so it wasn't until Thursday, July 31 that I was able to call Pamela back. I got her voicemail and left her a message. Two days later (Saturday, August 2) I hadn't heard back from her (which I thought was odd, given that I made it clear in my message that I wanted to switch to Verizon), so I called and left another message. I waited a couple of hours and then, getting impatient, decided to just call the general sales line (without using her extension) and take my chances.
Whaddya know, I happened to get Pam! I told her about the messages I'd left, and she told me--get this--that she didn't call me back because her voicemail hasn't been working for the past couple days. (Um. You work for a PHONE COMPANY. How can your voicemail be down?!) Anyway, I said I was calling to double check the prices she had quoted me on the iPhones. She said that promotion had ended "on the 17th" (keep in mind that I called her for the first time on the 24th. Did she really quote me prices from a promotion that had already been over for a week?!), but that we should be able to go into a store in person and get it that way.
While I had her on the phone, I also checked to be sure that the 2g/month of free data promotion was still on the table. She assured me it was, and that it was a "back to school" promotion and probably wouldn't end until late August or early September. Excellent.
Armed with these promises, the hubby and I went to the Verizon store in a nearby mall. When I told them we expected iPhone 5Ss for $99.99, I got blank stares. To their credit, they offered the same price in a slightly roundabout way: if we paid the current price ($199) that day, we could get half back in a rebate on August 7. Fine (although, at this point, I'll be surprised if I actually get it, but that's a battle for another day). I then told them about the 2g/month free offer Pam had promised. More blank stares. The sales guy (Soto--really nice guy) asked for Pam's number and extension, told us he was going to call her and try to get the promotion code, and suggested we take a stroll around the mall while we wait.
When we got back to the store, Soto had tried Pam's extension "8 or 10 times" and only gotten her voicemail, so couldn't get us the free data. We went with the cheaper plan anyway--2g/month--so that our bill would stay at $130, along with his suggestion that we try calling Pam again today to get the free 2g added on after the fact.
I don't know why I should be surprised, but I only got Pam's voicemail again. After leaving a message, I called the general sales line back and got Dmitri. He had, predictably, never heard of the 2g free promotion, even after putting me on hold and "looking everywhere he could think to look." He offered to put me in touch with customer service, who may be able to contact Pam directly to get whatever code she was talking about and get me the 2g/month free I was promised. The rep I was connected with (whose name I'm afraid I have forgotten) listened to my story, put me on hold while she tried Pam's extension, and came back to tell me that she, too, had left a message. Meanwhile, she was able to give me 1g/month free for 1 months, which is a start, but not as much as I need.
One thing she did say--and this REALLY ****** me off--was that perhaps the reason why Pam isn't calling me back is that she doesn't have the code that would get me the 2g free, and doesn't want to have to tell me. If that is true, WHAT KIND OF CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THAT?!?!
So Pam, if you're listening, please get back to me and give me the 2g/month free data you promised me. And if you don't have the right code, talk to your boss--and their boss, and their boss, and their boss--until you can get me what you promised me. Because if I left T-Mobile for some mythical data plan that doesn't exist, I'm going to be REALLY ****** off. I think if that's the case, Verizon should just let me out of my 2-year contract and let me go back to T-Mobile. They may not be the best, but (with me, anyway) they have always done what they said they would.

Hello Snosilla! I'm so sorry for all the confusion and for all the time taken to activate service with us! I do see that the iPhone 5c is $99.99 right now. The iPhone 5s is actually $199.99. There's no need to call Pam anymore, we can take over from here.
I've followed you in the forums. Please accept me, and follow me back. Then, send me a Direct Message and I can look into this for you. If you do not have an active line yet, I may need to get you through to our activations department, but I will do all I can!
    Thank you!

  • APO DP Promotion Planning

I am using APO DP V5.1 promotion planning.
Is it possible to set up 'promotion phasing profiles' so that, if for example I have a promotion qty of n spread over x weeks, I can phase the qty n across the x weeks in a consistent fashion.
So, I would want a promotion profile called for example 'PROM_4WEEKS' which would have values of 15%, 15%, 35%, 35% for a 4 week split, and another called for example 'PROM_8WEEKS' which would have values of 30%, 10%, 10%, 10%, 10%, 10%, 10%, 10% for an 8 week split. I could then use these profiles to apply to a number of relevant promotions.
    Thanks,
    Bob Austin, Atos Origin

    Hi Bob,
We can interpret it in a different manner. Creating 2 promotions, one for 4 weeks and one for 8 weeks. You can assign these promotions to multiple products. in case you want to assign it to different products, you can copy the promotion from one set of SKU to another set of products.

    Kedar

  • Promotion planning level change from product to product  category.

    Hi
About the promotion planning level, currently we use product level which means we adds individual products and assign money to there.
But we are thinkin of changing this to product category level planning.
Could anyone please teach me some good references or links or how to do it in step by step?
It seems we need to do a lot of work to change the level of planning, but hopefully it might be not too difficult?
If you know the solution, could you point me some directions?
    Thanks.

Looking at all that code, I can suggest one way of debugging the issue(Its a bit hard to guess what went in this case, particularly when the problem could be at so many places).
    1. Run your PLSQL as an anonymous block and check if the generated XML structure is what you expect.
    2. Check Firebug Console (if you have it) if an ajax request is send when the item is changed.
    3. Print out the return XML as a string on the screen so that you can make sure it what you wanted(use alert function or append to some page element)
    4. Now try your XML parser JS section starting with the obtained XML as a static variable, trying printing out the parsed out values at different stages
    5. Setting the page items shouldn't be much of a trouble if everything else worked fine.
Some Observations: If you are on Apex 4.0 wouldn't a Dynamic Action save you all this trouble (Two SetValue processes). Even otherwise you seem to be fetching two id's from the Ondemand process..Can't you just concatenate them with some separator and send that as the result stream(htp.p), handling them in JS would be simple using the split function. If the data is more complex you could return it as a JSON string and parse it with fewer lines of code.
Found a problem with the code :
get.add('PRODUCT_ID',pValue)Do you have a page item by that name(PRODUCT_ID) ? else change it to
get.add('P4_PRODUCT_ID',pValue)and change the following in ur PLSQL process code
    PRODUCT_ID = TO_NUMBER (v ('PRODUCT_ID'));to
PRODUCT_ID = TO_NUMBER (v ('P4_PRODUCT_ID'));But as I said earlier, Debugging it step by step might be easier.

  • Running Rules on "Locked"/Promoted Planning Units

    Hi All,
I'm using Hyperion Planning and Smart View Version 11.1.2.2.
Does anyone know if it is possible to prevent users from being able to run rules on data that is supposedly "locked out" by virtue of a Planning Unit? I was under the impression that Planning Units were supposed to control who could change the data rather than simply who could type numbers into forms, maybe I had this wrong? It seems a bit of a transparent piece of functionality if users can still change numbers after they've passed ownership to someone else.
    A working Example:
A user can promote their data, but is still able to go back to a form where that data sits and run Rules on-Save, through Right-click menus or through Smart View.
I'm worried about someone accidentally interfering with data whilst another user is analysing it etc.
    Am I missing something here?
    Regards
    Ed

    Hi, Ed.
You're right, Planning has so many parts to be developed. PU promotion doesn't prevent users from running BR's
If you're really worry about it you can think up a workaround.
You have to create a new form having design simular to a PU hierarchy. User have to enter data (suppose 1) in intersection of Scenario, Version, Entity and Account (if used in PUH) All others dims member should be Begbalance, Product n/a etc.
All BR's you need to prevent from executing while PU is approved, freezed or just owned by the reviewer or in other cases you think about should include extra code before original calculation takes place. You simply check the value of 1 in all calculated PUs in current BR and throw an error if meet it (@RETURN with some justified text message)
So when one user (lets say first owner) has finished entering data he goes to the form discussed above and enters 1 for related PU. You can build a task list having such steps After that no one can execute BR successfuly
Try this maybe it helps you

  • Tab Budget Allocation in Marketing Plan and Campaign

    Hi All,
I have problem with tab budget allocation in marketing plan and campaign (t-code: CRM_MKTPL).
    Tab budget allocation is missing.
my question is where we define tab budget allocation in SPRO?
    My system is CRM 5.0
    Thanks and Regards,
    Fariz

    Hi Fariz,
On assigning one of the Plannig Profile group from the available drop down either in Marketing Plan or Campaign you should be getting additional tabs like Cost tab, Key Fig tab etc. In cost tab you can allocate the budget for Advertise, Promotion etc. As Gaurav had rightly pointed out this requires BPS integration. For any other cost planning requirement apart from the given standard key figures you would require to define them as key figures in BPS and put them in planning profiles.
Following is the path where we can define Key Figures in spro
IMG-->CRM > Marketing> Marketing Planning and Campaign management --> Key Figures Planning
Hope this might help to start with Key Figure planning

  • Promotion Planning in DP

    Hello Friends,
I am exploring Promotion Planning functionality in APO - DP and I have specific need to accomodate pricing as a part of promotion planning.
Since we offer different pricing for promotion items and this can be different from customer to customer. I would like to create place holder for pricing along with promotion qty in APO DP. My question is, Can APO DP promotion planning fulfill this requirement with standard functionality?
    Any ideas?
    Regards,
    Harshil Desai

    Harshil,
Well, there are basically no limits as to what KFs can be displayed in a planning book.  If you have a way to enter or extract the prices into your PA, then they can be displayed in your book.
That being said, I can't imagine a scenario where displaying promotional prices in a planning book would actually justify the effort required to create and maintain the functionality.  Promotion Planning is designed to allow you to segregate the Promotional planning from the baseline planning, and thus see in greater detail how promotional planning affects the overall plan.  I would think that Promotional Pricing would only be useful to you if your entire demand plan were priced, and you were using your DP as a sales budgeting tool.  This would be a substantial project.  If this is your goal, you probably should be looking at CRM instead of APO DP.
    Best Regards,

  • Promotion planning - SD-CO-PA relationship

Can anybody give me brief explanations for the answers of the following multiple choice question (answers for each choice)?
Thanks in advance for the answers...
Which of the following statements are correct regarding promotion planning?
    (a)     Accurate reporting is possible because data can be transferred from SD to CO-PA at three different stages.
    (b)     Budgets are created as planning versions in CO-PA for sales and marketing strategies.  Agreements, such as sales deals for marketing campaigns are created in SD.
    (c)     In the agreement, planned values for the condition records can be passed to CO-PA as a commitment.
    (d)     Budgets can be monitored by comparing the two versions (budget vs. commitment)

Little complex. I will try to answer based on my past knowledge:
Which of the following statements are correct regarding promotion planning?
    (a) Accurate reporting is possible because data can be transferred from SD to CO-PA at three different stages.
Yes, you can transfer data from SD at sales order, delivery and invoicing creating. If you have different requirement then check user exits and there you can get some more options.
    (b) Budgets are created as planning versions in CO-PA for sales and marketing strategies. Agreements, such as sales deals for marketing campaigns are created in SD.
Yes, sale deals are creating in SD. If you are using CRM then there is separate functionality for deals.
    (c) In the agreement, planned values for the condition records can be passed to CO-PA as a commitment.
    Not clear to me.
    (d) Budgets can be monitored by comparing the two versions (budget vs. commitment)
Yep, you can compare two versions.

  • What is the difference between trade promotion management and campaign?

    Hello all,
I want a clear clarification shows the difference between trade promotion management and campaign management
    Regards
    Jacopo Francois

    Hi,
1)Campaign Management, Here Market do the  Mass camapaign in  the specific sales area regarding theire Products and Brands (Aware ness of new Products or rebuilding the Brand image )  by spending some Budget.
    2) In Trade Promotion, Market makes the Trade agreement ( To sell the Particular Products ) with the Particular BP ( Like Distributor/Whole saler ) by giving the Trade promotional discounts, if he sells will get the TPM discount with in the planned period .
Basically Campaign is using Mass advertise and TPM is to be targetting to the Particular BP to sell theire prodcuts by offering promotional discount.

  • Thinking about Moves with my Plan and Future, Help Appreciated

OK so this was the deal with my plan currently, is that right now im looking to save money on my phone bill every month and im being given the big run around with my Talk/Text/Data Promotion where i keep being told my data discount of 9.99 would come off and so far this month too it did not come off. The woman in Promotions department apparently fixed my account which not sure if she did and the problem with the whole thing is that different reps keep telling me i can only get my employee discount on my voice or the data discount which of course is wrong because the promo woman over the phone told me i can receive both and the loyalty reps over the phone keep giving me different stories and im tired of it. This was the reason i extended my contract for a bit to get this discount and its getting very frustrated about it!!
The other thing was i was thinking about switching carriers when my contract is up because my bill has been pretty high the past couple of months and it makes no sense to early terminate my 2nd line because my ex gf upgraded to a smartphone and jacked up the fee. My mom hardly uses the 2nd line and i would like to cancel it but because its too high it makes no point to do that since both our contracts are up in a year. I was thinking about going to a basic phone to cut my data plan prices because the only cheapest verizon has is the 30 dollar plan. I don't use my data plan too much but i heard if i go to a basic phone and within 14 days i go back to a smartphone i can get my unlimited data back. So idk if this is true or not. But its gotten to the point that these smartphone plans and contracts are a bit much now. So if there is a Verizon rep that can chime in and see what can be done or discuss with me about options, that would be greatly appreciated. Otherwise i just had to vent about the issue with my current bill at this moment. So just was saying.

To answer SuzyQ, my ex gf is off my account because of problems with her being on it (being late all the time, messing up my credit) and she wasn't choosing to fix her problems by doing and AOL because of her credit which Verizon wanted 400 and she didn't want to do it. Long story short, she lied to me about her AOL deposit amount just to stay on my account for a few more years (hence the early upgrade). So thats why shes no longer with my account.
To answer AZS, your right my mom HAS a basic phone now and does not have data. My problem is that i have data on my plan which im trying to cut back on the cost of the plan and so far, i really wish Verizon would let me have that Talk/Text/Data promotion where it was 9.99 for the unlimited data and it would really help my bill alot. Of course i had a hard time getting it and one of the reps who i dealt with about getting it was very rude with me and she didn't care about satisfying the problem or the plan with me.
But both lines have less than a year left so when the time comes, its time to move to something cheaper and better for me no contract wise. Unless anyone has something else to throw in their opinion of.
