Propagation not working. Basic Question.

Hi,
I was trying to setup Replication between 2 Oracle 10g Enterprise Editions installed on 2 different machines using Oracle Streams. While Installing the 2 databases I created the first database with the name source and the other with name target.
global_names is set to true:
alter system set global_names=true;
Created the user strmadmin in both the databases and created the tables EMP_SOURCE in the source database and EMP_TARGET in target database.
Setup the links as below:
CREATE DATABASE LINK target CONNECT TO strmadmin IDENTIFIED BY strmadmin USING *'target'*;
CREATE DATABASE LINK source CONNECT TO strmadmin IDENTIFIED BY strmadmin USING *'source'*;
Tested that the DB Links works in both the databases giving results back.
select * from strmadmin.EMP_SOURCE@source;
select * from strmadmin.EMP_TARGET@target;
select * from [email protected]
select * from [email protected]
I then go to setup the capture, propogation and apply process. The capture and apply process seem ok however the propogation process is throwing the error as below:
Propagation Process:
BEGIN
DBMS_STREAMS_ADM.ADD_TABLE_PROPAGATION_RULES(
table_name => 'strmadmin.EMP_SOURCE',
streams_name => 'strm01_propagation',
source_queue_name => 'strmadmin.source_queue',
destination_queue_name => *'strmadmin.target_queue@target'*,
include_dml => true,
include_ddl => true,
source_database => *'source'*,
inclusion_rule => true,
queue_to_queue => true);
END;
Error thrown:
Propagation Schedule for (STRMADMIN.SOURCE_QUEUE, "STRMADMIN"."TARGET_QUEUE"@TARGET.REGRESS.RDBMS.DEV.US.ORACLE.COM) encountered following error:~ORA-04052: error occurred when looking up remote object [email protected]~ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 4~ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified~ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_AQADM_SYS", line 1087~ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_AQADM_SYS", line 7616~ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_AQADM", line 631~ORA-06512: at line 1~Propagation Schedule for (STRMADMIN.SOURCE_QUEUE, "STRMADMIN"."TARGET_QUEUE"@TARGET.REGRESS.RDBMS.DEV.US.ORACLE.COM) disabled due to 16 consecutive errors.
Any pointers will be greatly appreciated.
PS: I am new to Oracle Streams and DBA and need to accomplish this quickly so please forgive my ignorance.
Do let me know if you need any other information.

global name means that dblink_name=db_global_name so:
CREATE DATABASE LINK target.REGRESS.RDBMS.DEV.US.ORACLE.COM CONNECT TO strmadmin IDENTIFIED BY strmadmin USING 'target.REGRESS.RDBMS.DEV.US.ORACLE.COM';
CREATE DATABASE LINK source.REGRESS.RDBMS.DEV.US.ORACLE.COM CONNECT TO strmadmin IDENTIFIED BY strmadmin USING 'source.REGRESS.RDBMS.DEV.US.ORACLE.COM'';
and...
destination_queue_name => 'strmadmin.target_queue@target',
source_database => 'source',
replace
destination_queue_name => '[email protected]',
source_database => null,
or
destination_queue_name => '[email protected]',
source_database => 'source.REGRESS.RDBMS.DEV.US.ORACLE.COM',

  • Sound & iCal not working + other questions

    Hi, I'm a new mac user and at the moment I have many, many questions...
    1) My sound is not working! I remember it working well last night but when I woke it from its sleep today, it doesn't make a sound anymore, and the F4 & F5 that you can use to adjust the sound don't respond either o_O There's nothing plugged in, when I check the sound panel in system preference, it is set to the maximum, and the mute box is unchecked...however they are both greyed.
    2) My iCal was initially working as well. However when I updated (5 minutes ago), it stopped responding. When I click on the application icon, it jumps in my dock but it doesn't open...
    3) I also tried to install this application named Atomix Dojam X. I had an older version of it, but I deleted it and wanted to install v.X because the older version ran on Mac OS X 9. However, when I downloaded it to my desktop and ran the setup guide, I cannot change the destination (the default destination is Macintosh HD), and even though it says "installation successful" in the end, it does not appear in my application folder nor anywhere else...
    4) I was also wondering...when I updated my real player and msn, I think they were kind of "updated on the spot"...okay that didn't make sense. What I meant was they weren't updated in the application folder. So when I delete the icons on my desktop, the applications stop working as well. Is there a way for me to move those applications to the application folder? I tried, but it denied my attempt because "application cannot be modified"...
    5) My computer has a memory of 640 MB, the processor is 867 MHz. But I'm getting a bit frustrated with the current operating system because everything that Apple offers now requires Mac OS X 10.3.9 and above. I was wondering if my computer run Panther/Tiger and be as fast as it can operate now?
    Sorry, this was a really long post. I will be extremely grateful to anyone who is willing help. Thanks in advance!

    Hi yukinu,
    First of all, Welcome to the  Discussion Forums!

    What is selected in System Preferences>Sound for your Output? Is it showing "Internal Speakers" and is it selected/highlighted?
    2) My iCal was initially working as well. However when I updated (5 minutes ago), it stopped responding. When I click on the application icon, it jumps in my dock but it doesn't open...
    How did you update? Through Software Updater or through Apple Downloads website?
    3) I also tried to install this application named Atomix Dojam X. I had an older version of it, but I deleted it and wanted to install v.X because the older version ran on Mac OS X 9. Sorry, I don't use the software myself, but have you tried going to their website>support and see if they have any install troubleshooting tips?
    4) I was also wondering...when I updated my real player and msn, I think they were kind of "updated on the spot"...okay that didn't make sense. I would suggest going to their website, again, and finding the install instructions and follow them for your version of OSX. Not sure what you mean by the "icons on my desktop" that you deleted but I assume you are referring to the downloaded "install" files? How did you know that they weren't "updated" in your applications folder? Did you do a Get Info on the icons for the apps in your Applications folder to check the version after updating?
    5) My computer has a memory of 640 MB, the processor is 867 MHz. But I'm getting a bit frustrated with the current operating system because everything that Apple offers now requires Mac OS X 10.3.9 and above. I was wondering if my computer run Panther/Tiger and be as fast as it can operate now?
    Your PowerBook G4 867 Mhz 640 MB ram installed is more than adequate to run either Panther or Tiger. But, I would try making sure your Disk is ok first before attempting to upgrade the OS since you appear to be having some problems. They are probably not related to disk corruption but you should boot to your install cd and Repair Disk using Disk Utility on the install cd first to make sure.
    I would try running both, Permissions Repair from your HD and then booting to your install disk and running Repair Disk anyways to see what errors if any you receive. There will undoubtedly be spurious errors running Repair Permissions but if any that cannot be repaired you should note them along with the errors that cannot be repaired with Disk Utility>Repair Disk from your install cd. You should always run Repair Permissions from your Disk Utility on your HD before and after any software installations to have a smoother/successful update/upgrade.

  • Keyboard Not Working and Question Mark Folder on Startup

    I've got a question for a Mac Genius: What is the cause of my keyboard not working and a grayscreen coming up on startup? I'll give you a little background. I have a 1.83Ghz Macbook that is two years old now...almost exactly. I came back from work yesterday and it was in a semi-frozen state. Two apps were frozen but the finder was still alive. Within 10 seconds of trying to navigate through the Finder, it froze too. I went ahead and tried to restart it, but nothing happened. I held down the power button and it shut off. When I tried to start it back up a gray screen comes up. It makes the chiming sound but goes no where. After about half a minute the folder with the question mark will appear. The first few times I tried it, it seemed like the optical drive was trying really hard to work, but it doesn't try so hard anymore. None of the keys work and the Caps Lock and Num Lock don't light, so I can't use any of the keyboard commands to work my way around (resetting PRAM/using startup disks). The CD is stuck in it because I can't force eject it. I believe the trackpad is also not working, but I couldn't be sure.
    Previously I had noticed that when I came back from work I would find Mozilla Firefox using tons of the CPU when it wasn't really doing anything. This heated up the computer and made the fans spin at crazy speeds(6000RPM). I will try the Hard drive in another computer tonight probably because I'm pretty sure that's not the problem, but I would like to be sure.
    Any ideas would be helpful! I'm just about to tear it open and see if anything has been physically fried.

    I went ahead and tried to eject the CD with an external mouse but it didn't work. What I ended up doing is swapping my hard drive into my friend's computer and discovered that that was the only problem. It appears that my HDD was totally fried because after I booted off of the start-up cd, the HDD was nowhere to be found within disk utility. My computer starts up fine and the keyboard works fine when I have someone else's HDD in mine. I'm really surprised that the Macbook needs a good HDD to operate it's trackpad and keyboard. Thank you for your help! Although now I have a new question; is there any way to salvage the data trapped on my old HDD? Cheers!

  • Ipad3 camera app not working - simple question

    Hello,
    I would like to take pictures with my ipad3. I installed "camera awesome". Has anyone been able to get this to work with their ipad3? It doesn't show a picture when I try to use it. When I hit the camera icon within the app, it closes the app.
    I'm also open to utilizing other camera apps as long as they work with ipad3. For those that are taking pictues, what camera apps do you suggest?
    Thanks in advance for your help!

    Ok, So I'm the only one who has this issue with their iPad3 and there is no information on this elsewhere. I take it that my iPad3 must be a defect.
    I recently tried to Skype and the video would not work with my iPad3. I will be returning it to the Apple store. I guess my camera doesn't work. Booo. LOL. Hopefully, they will supply me with a new iPad3.

    My challenge over weekend was to get entire year of data vs. just the period data.
    There are 7 columns on this report. 5 weeks of period, PeriodToDate (total of the weeks) and YearToDate (PeriodToDate + Sum of all data from beginning of year to the end of the previous period.
    I'm not really concerned with the PTD, the program can handle that. I got the BOY date with the following code:
    All data is summed for the week and grouped by storeid and TRUNC(date, 'IW') which is the Monday of each week.
    of each week. (The resultset contains data for 2 stores instead of 1. This is there only to make sure my query was filtering correctly)

    Analytics:
    Boneist gave me some code to try last week:
    Combining refCursors  and Summing
    that created the PTD column.
    I could never get it to work because I was tweaking so much with the Query but is there a way to get the PTD without
    having to add an extra PTD column for each week.
    One other thing:
    I would like to know how to use analytics to roll up report by division into a different cursor.

  • Regarding modifer keys not working: stupid question

    Hi apple community!
    I have recently upgraded to snow leopard.
    My question is regarding this topic
    http://discussions.info.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=10567379
    Since it is locked, I cannot post it in there. So I will ask here,
    How in the world can I change the modifier keys if I disconnected my mouse? I tried tabbing to the dropdowns and selecting the new keys via the keyboard but it doesn't work.
    I really appreciate if someone can take the 15 seconds to show me the obvious.
    Thanks!

    System Preferences>Universal Access>Mouse: turn 'Mouse keys' on. Use the keyboard to move the mouse as detailed in this tech note:

  • Supply and Demand Propagation not working in SCM5.0

    Just curious if anyone is using S&OP (Supply and Demand Propagation) in APO?
    I am using SCM v5.0 and Planning Area 9ASNP01 can not be initialized.
    OSS 832393 states:  The SNP propagation planning (planning area SNP 9ASNP01, transaction /SAPAPO/SNPSOP) can only be used with times series live Cache. In productive systems, this functionality should be used only after consultation of SAP.
    I am trying to use the standard default SAP Planning area 9ASNP01 and am curious what needs to be done to use it?
    I am submitting on OSS message for this, but am curious to see if anyone is using S&OP currently in APO?
    Ken Snyder
    [email protected]

    Ken,
    I have just posted a similar question to your regarding S&OP, have you in the meantime managed to obtain some information regarding anyone using propagation (S&OP), and any advantages/disdvantages?
    Regards
    Paul

  • Propagation not working

    Hi all, I have a problem getting propagation (with transformation) to work.
    First things first:
    - Oracle 10.2.0.3 EE
    - HP-UX 11.11
    - job_queue_processes=2
    - aq_tm_processes NOT explicitly set
    The goal of my setup:
    - have a message of one type come in
    - transform it to another type and
    - propagate it to another queue
    To make tests easier, everything runs within one Schema with aq_administrator_role granted. I tried that (code below), but the message will not be propagated to the second queue. The message remains in the first queue in status 0.
    Am I missing something?
    Best regards,
    Uwe

    Thanks for your answer, Daniel,
    Dequeue on the "msgtypequeue" works fine. By the way, the message didn't expire, SQL output was just hardly readable - this should be more readable now:
    SQL> select qs.name, v.*
      2    from v$aq v, all_queues qs
      3   where waiting+ready+expired > 0
      4     and v.qid = qs.qid;
    NAME                QID    WAITING      READY    EXPIRED TOTAL_WAIT AVERAGE_WAIT
    MSGTYPEQUEUE      44946          0          1          0        975          975I also added the schema name for the transformation function:
       transformation => 'AQTEST.my2msg_t(source.user_data)');
    ...That didn't help either. :-(
    Best regards,
    Uwe

  • Ps not working: Basic File- New does not provide area to work in

    I installed PS CC ... started it up... tried File->New and no layer shows up... it shows up on right side.

    System is Firefox, Win 7 (SP1)  running on i7 @ 2.20 GHz.   Laptop - 8GB 64-bit OS
    Not sure about document setting?  [I am new to Photoshop... I did not do change any settings just started it up... I was just following the beginner's tutorial for creating a college, I didn't do any changes to any settings... after installation.
    This morning after several hours .... the Ps "work space" showed the 2 layers - Background and photo (that I dragged and dropped)....
    So it seems that performance is UNBELIEVABLELY SLOW...
    I tried to resize the photo but nothing happens on the work space.... the right side bar shows photo in lower right quadrant ... but actual photo is taking most of the background (before I resized)...
    Any tips on speeding up performance?

  • Itunes not working, reinstalling questions

    I have a problem with itunes. When I first turn on my computer I can open itunes with no problems. But right after I close the itunes program and later on want to restart it, it doesn't work. I'm using a Windows xp based pc.
    Now, if i want to reinstall itunes, will i lose all the music, videos, tv shows that I purchased through itunes?
    And what is the best way to make it so I don't lose them.
    TIA

    I did follow the instructions and deleted the preference files. This didn't help, but did get iTunes to treat the installation as a new one.
    A new version of iTunes came out today, so I did a complete uninstall and reinstall. I again removed the preference files. After installing, iTunes itself seemes to be working. I can log in with my Apple ID and it does not hang anymore. Unfortuantely the problem with attaching my iPhone 4 and iPad still occurs. When I plug them in iTunes "hangs" for about 5 minutes. When iTunes becomes responsive again, the devices do not show up. Windows recognizes the devices and iTunes diagnostics also reconize the devices even down to the serial number. Maybe resetting the devices would help, but you can understand I how reluctant I am to do anything that could make them inoperable.
    My iPod nano still connects to iTunes fine.
    So I have a functioning iTunes program with nothing in the library, a functioning apple ID, and no way to sync, upgrade, or backup my iPad and phone.
    BTW polydorus ... thanks for taking the time to help. It's a thankless job trying to help the frustrated.

    but this script is not working
    my question is:
    1.do i need use script only to setup http keepalvie with webpage for multiple domains ?
    2.with out using script is there any solution like CICSCO  CSS commands  to setup http uril for multiple domains which are on 1 singl server.
    please help me asap

    Hello Muhammad,
    If you wish to use multiple domains for a URI  keep-alive check, and perform a HEAD request what Daniel mentioned is  correct.  You have to use a scripted keep-alive check on the service.  However, you should not use the default "ap-kal-httptag" script to do so  as it's limited to only 1 website (unless you modify the script).  You're best bet would be using the "ap-kal-httplist" script on the CSS  as it allows the checking of 2 different websites along with a webpage  to check for each site using HTTP HEAD method.
    !no echo
    ! Filename: ap-kal-httplist
    ! Parameters: Site1 WebPage1 Site2 WebPage2 [...]
    ! Description:
    !    This script will connect a list of sites/webpage pairs.  The
    !   user must simply supply the site, and then the webpage and
    !   we'll attempt to do an HTTP HEAD on that page.
    ! Failure Upon:
    !   1. Not establishing a connection with the host.
    !   2. Not receiving a status code 200 on the HEAD request on any
    !      one site.  If one fails, the script fails.
    ! Make sure the user has a qualified number of arguments
    if ${ARGS}[#] "LT" "2"
            echo "Usage: ap-kal-httplist \'WebSite1 WebPage1 WebSite2 WebPage2 ...'"
            exit script 1
    endbranch
    while ${ARGS}[#] "GT" "0"
            set Site "${ARGS}[1]"
        var-shift ARGS
        if ${ARGS}[#] "==" "0"
            set EXIT_MSG "Parameter mismatch: hostname present but webpage was not"
            exit script 1
        endbranch
        set Page "${ARGS}[1]"
        var-shift ARGS
        no set EXIT_MSG
        function HeadUrl call "${Site} ${Page}"
    endbranch
    exit script 0
    function HeadUrl begin
    ! Connect to the remote Host
    set EXIT_MSG "Connect: Failed to connect to ${ARGS}[1]"
    socket connect host ${ARGS}[1] port 80 tcp 2000
    ! Send the head request
    set EXIT_MSG "Send: Failed to send to ${ARGS}[1]"
    socket send ${SOCKET} "HEAD ${ARGS}[2] HTTP/1.0\n\n"
    ! Wait for the status code 200 to be given to us
    set EXIT_MSG "Waitfor: Failed to wait for '200' on ${ARGS}[1]"
    socket waitfor ${SOCKET} " 200 " 2000
    no set EXIT_MSG
    socket disconnect ${SOCKET}
    function HeadUrl end
    Rather  then modify the default "ap-kal-httplist" script on the CSS I would  simply define the arguments within the service configuration itself.   Something like the following (using your service example):
    service dell-192.168.1.5
    ip address 192.168.1.5
    keepalive type script ap-kal-httplist "www.abc.co.uk /testpage.html www.xyz.co.uk /testpage.html"
    active
    As  long as the server is configured to reply to host headers, and the page  is configured to retuen a "200 OK" the above service configuration  should work. If there are any errors simply run "show service  " to view why there was a failure. If there is a  failure, and the output from the command specified shows a line number  run the following command against the script to view at what point  (line) did the failure occur:
    show script ap-kal-httplist line-numbers
    Hope this helps!

    Hi,
    I just bought a new A2107A-H running Android 4.0.3. To debug a few apps I wrote with the eclipse ide I tried to connect the A2107A-H with adb - no success. The adb runs on win xp.

    Questions:
    1. Any idea (ha ha) if/when lenovo will provide a usb driver for the A2107A-H?
    2. Did one of you guys manage to make it work with win XP?

  • Switch from Comcast back to AT&T - Now Fax is not working on my HP Officejet J5700 All-in-one

    To HP Support:
    My home phone was with Comcast.  My fax was working fine.  I have since switched my home phone to AT&T and now my fax is not working.
    Question - what do I need to do to get my fax to work like it did previously?
    Please advise and thank you.

    Try first contact AT&T, there might be something they need to do. Nowadays, phone companies provide very different services, on some lines, fax just don't work. Here is an HP support page with some info that might be helpful.http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00302247&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en

  • Keyboard keys are not working

    Im on mac OS X 10.6.8 several keyboard keys are not working. For instance the at symbol is not working or question mark and random other punctuation keys. The problem started after running some code from terminal to trun off mouse acceleration and then installing a plug-in to control more accurately the mouse funtions. Ive since uninstalled the plug in and disabled the adjustment in terminal. Ive checked all the normal keyboard funcions to make sure settings were not funky. When I log out and log in as a differnt user the problem with the keyboard is fixed. Someone please help
    Code I ran
    defaults write .GlobalPreferences com.apple.mouse.scaling -1
    http://www.lockergnome.com/osx/2011/07/13/how-to-turn-off-mouse-acceleration-in- os-x/

    Hello lindzthecreator,
    I suggest this part of the article named One or more keys on the keyboard do not respond found here http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1381
    Some keys don't work as expected
    From the Apple menu, choose System Preferences.
    From the View menu, choose Speech.
    Click the Text to Speech tab.
    If "Speak selected text when the key is pressed" is enabled, the key or key combination set to speak text cannot be used for other purposes or used to type text--click Set Key and change it to a less-commonly used key combination (try to use modifier keys such as Shift, Command, Option, and Control). Or, disable the "Speak selected text when the key is pressed" option.
    Click the Universal Access pane in System Preferences, click the Keyboard tab.
    Make sure that Slow Keys is turned off. With Slow Keys on, you need to press a key for a longer period of time for it to be recognized.
    In the Universal Access pane, click the Mouse tab, and make sure Mouse Keys is turned off. With Mouse Keys enabled, you cannot use the Numeric Keypad to enter numbers--instead the keypad moves the pointer (cursor). (There is an option to enable Mouse Keys with five presses of the Option key; you may want to turn that option off to avoid accidentally enabling it.) If Mouse Keys is enabled and you are using a keyboard with no numeric keypad or Num Lock function, see Unable to type while Mouse Keys is enabled in Mac OS X.
    If the function keys on the top row of the keyboard are not working as expected, see Mac OS X: How to change the behavior of function keys.
    If the issue persists, use Keyboard Viewer to help isolate the issue:
    Click the Language & Text pane (Mac OS X v10.6) or International pane (Mac OS X v10.5.8 or earlier) in System Preferences.
    Click the Input Sources tab (or Input Menu tab in Mac OS X 10.5.8 or earlier).
    Click the Keyboard & Character Viewer "On" checkbox to select it (click the Keyboard Viewer "On" checkbox in Mac OS X 10.5.8 or earlier).
    From the Input (flag) menu, choose Show Keyboard Viewer.
    If the keyboard is connected and detected by Mac OS X, the keys you type will highlight in the Keyboard Viewer window. Open TextEdit (or any text application), and try to type something using the keys that were previously not responding to see if they highlight in Keyboard Viewer.
    Start from the Mac OS X Install Disc, choose Terminal from the Utilities menu and test the keys which were previously not working.  If the keys work while started from the Install disc, then the keyboard itself is working correctly.  Use Mac OS X: How to troubleshoot a software issue to isolate the software issue that may be causing the keys to not respond.
    All the very best,
    Sterling
