Proposed Layout for a sudoku-grid

I'm making a sudoku game. I'm not sure how to build the gui though. What kind of layout should I have? I want to be able to highlight empty squares and also be able to drag n drop numbers into them. How can I do this?

Well, I don't know what a "sudoku-grid" is. But if it's anything like a chess board then maybe this posting will help:

  • Change Layout in Selection Screen for OO ALV-Grid

    Hello everyone,
    I got a problem regarding layouts for objectoriented ALV Grid. I want to make it possible that user can take the layout for ALV he wants to on the selection screen. So far thats no problem and it works. But there are some little problems which I do not know how to fix them. But first the facts:
    (1) I got my parameter for layout
    PARAMETER: p_vari  TYPE disvariant-variant.
    (2) I fill my global layout structure in initialization
    INITIALIZATION.

       gs_variant-username = sy-uname.
       gs_variant-report   = sy-repid.
       gs_variant-variant  = p_vari.
    This works all fine but I got some problems when using default variants/layouts. For example I got a default variant only for me. When starting the selection screen it works fine that the default layout was written. It is displayed automatically in the variant parameter. But I want that if i I empty the content (blank it out) from my variant parameter, that report should start with "normal" layout how it was written in the report and NOT with default layout.
    When I clear the gs_variant it works like I want it, but then the alv layout button looks like (without functions for layout), because I do not have the reference to my report.
    So what to do? :-)
    Regards
    Michael

    Wow that was fast, works great, thanks :-)
    I did not use this parameter in set table method but now I fill it dynamically.
    Ok next problem, one step harder ;-)
    Now I have one selection screen for one ALV-Grid, but four radio buttons which control with which data the ALV gets filled (four different fieldcats, data tables and so on). Each Grid got an own HANDLE so that the layouts can be separated in four categories.
    Now I want that by changing the radio button the individual standard layout for the chosen alv grid is getting filled.
    This works fine when using it in selection screen output.
    AT SELECTION-SCREEN OUTPUT.
       CLEAR gs_variant.
    * Layout-Handles individuell für Klausel-Radiobuttons setzen
       IF     p_py IS NOT INITIAL.

         gs_variant-username = sy-uname.
         gs_variant-report   = sy-repid.
         gs_variant-handle   = 'KLAJ'.
       ELSEIF p_sr IS NOT INITIAL.
         gs_variant-username = sy-uname.
         gs_variant-report   = sy-repid.
         gs_variant-handle   = 'KLSR'.
       ENDIF.

       IF sy-subrc = 0.
         p_vari = gs_variant-variant.
       ELSE.
         CLEAR p_vari.
       ENDIF.
    But unfortunately selection screen output is getting passed by EACH changing in the selection screen. This means when I try to clear the default layout in my parameter field, it gets refilled automatically with default layout. If I do a condition around the filling (only if not initial) the default value filling does not work fine in every case, e.g. when clearing the parameters field and then change the radiobutton -> then it does not get filled automatically.

  • Problem with same layout (variant) for two ALV Grid and ALV Tree

    Hello!
    I have two docking containers on the screen. On the left i have cl_gui_alv_tree, on the right cl_salv_table.
    When a user set a default layout for ALV Grid (or ALV Tree), raport starts and sets this layout in both objects (tree and grid).
    How to avoid this?

    Hi,
    Take Two radio buttons.
    First radion button display the two containers in grid format,
    second radio button display the two containers in tree format base on user selection.

  • Acrobat X Pro Missing Grid with File Preview Layout for Portfolios

    In Acrobat 9 Pro, there was a Portfolio layout called Grid with File Preview. We use it as our primary layout for PDF portfolios because it allows users to rapidly view PDFs within a portfolio. This was our primary reason for using Portfolios. Unfortunately, this important feature was removed in Acrobat X Pro resulting in clunky and very slow PDF viewing.
    Adobe needs to immediately reinstate Grid with File Preview into Acrobat X Pro. Until this happens, I will continue to use Acrobat 9 Pro.
    I encourage everyone to use the Feature Request/Bug Report Form to submit this as a Bug. Unless everyone complains, nothing will happen.

    Check out this free layout and instructions for installing.  This is just what I've been looking for since we upgraded to Acrobat X.  My attorneys hated reviewing thousands of PDF files that looked like flying cards.  http://blog.practicalpdf.com/2012/07/grid-with-file-preview-pdf-portfolio-layout-available -now/

  • The iPhone 5 in landscape mode is a tablet for the Fluid Grid layout

    Hi all,
    I created a "fluid" layout for a site and realized that the iPhone 5, in landscape mode, is > 480 pixels, so the "tablet" layout is applied.
    Have you encountered this issue as well? How to solve it? I thought I might modify the CSS media query and define the tablet as > 536 but maybe some-one has a more elegant solution?
    And, in general, when is a phone really a tablet?
    Bootstrap from Twitter suggests four types of widths.
    /* Large desktop */
    @media (min-width: 1200px) { ... }
    /* Portrait tablet to landscape and desktop */
    @media (min-width: 768px) and (max-width: 979px) { ... }
    /* Landscape phone to portrait tablet */
    @media (max-width: 767px) { ... }
    /* Landscape phones and down */
    @media (max-width: 480px) { ... }
    In this framework (which is very similar to DW's fluid grid: it has a class called "clearfix" which suggests me something), under 768 it's still a phone... Is IT? What do you think?

    Smartphones are getting bigger.  Tablets are getting smaller.  So there's bound to be some overlap between devices.  I just don't see this as a problem.   Nor should you.

  • How to set default layout for ALV grid ?

    Dear all,
    When execute ALV reports, the user customize the layout for their own purpose. But each time they run that report, they must choose again their layout. Is there any way to set the layout as default ?
    Thank you very much,
    Sylvecat.

    Hi,'
    After you have created a layout just follow the steps listed below for making it as default layout:
    1. Click (Save Layout).
    2. Enter a name in the Save Layout field. The name must begin with a letter.
    3. Type in a description for the layout in the Name field.
    4. Select the Default Setting check box if you want this layout to be the default layout every time you run
    the report.
    5. Click (Continue).
    Note: A warning message will appear if you are trying to save over an existing layout. Close the box by
    selecting the X in the upper right hand corner or choose Yes to overwrite the layout.
    Reward Points if found helpfull..
    Cheers,
    Chandra Sekhar.

  • How to create the layout for query in Bex 3.5

    Hi All,
    i have one requirement to do layout for query. Report like after passing the variable values and then they will select the required layout. It has to get output according layout selection fields.
    i have no idea about how to create layout.
            thanks in advance...

    Hi Gregor,
    In the note 1149346 that you have mentioned, it says -
    You must start the input-ready query in change mode.
    BEx Analyzer: In the properties of the analysis grid, the switch
    "Suppress new rows" must not be set.  Furthermore,
    the switch "Allow entry of plant values"
    must be set in the local query properties.
    I have not seen this setting Allow entry of plant values in a query - can you tell what is refers to?

  • How can I convert my web page from a fixed width layout to a fluid grid layout?

    I'm taking a web design class (I'm using Dreamweaver CS6, btw)  wherein the professor started us out building our websites in a fixed width layout but now I want to change my site into a fluid grid layout. My "site" so far is just one long page, and I've already designed it with fluid grid adjustments in mind (most things are centered  in the layout) so it shouldn't need excessive tweaking.
    Is there a way to duplicate the site folder that holds my first page, re-open a new document in fluid, then copy the code in and tweak the width parameters for the different layouts?
    Did I just answer my own question? Help - I am new at this!!
    Thanks all,
    KC

    A bit off-topic, but Osgood: have you ever used SASS or LESS? When you are building your own grid systems it can save you a tremendous amount of time, and it's a lot of fun.
    Take the following simple example - it generates all the 23 css classes automatically for a 12 grid system. And simply changing one variable allows you to create and calculate any number of columns!
    //variables
    $desktop: 1025px;
    $large-columns: 12;
    @media only screen and (min-width: $desktop) {
         //regular grid span classes
        @for $i from 1 through $large-columns {
            .span-large-#{$i} {
                width: percentage($i/$large-columns);
         // push classes
        @for $i from 1 through (($large-columns)-1) {
            .push-large-#{$i} {
                margin-left: percentage($i/$large-columns);
    No, not explored it yet, and may never....I don't know. I don't really make much money out of web design. It's becoming more and more difficult to find the desire to learn new techniques when the opportunities aren't really there to put them into practice on as regular basis as I would like.  I've got  a very good handle on css, php, html, jQuery - I'm not sure I want to add another layer at the moment, given I'm never quite sure how long I will continue to 'bang my head against the wall' . I'm getting to the stage where I keep asking myself do I really need the problems associated with learning new stuff to the point of being comfortable with it if the financial rewards at the end don't equate to the efforts of learning it.
    I don't really enjoy web development if truth is known. I come from a Graphic Design background which I much prefer but somehow got side tracked and pushed in this direction and there's no way back now, lol. Whilst I concede Web Development is much more exciting its also 100 times more complex/difficult and the skills needed are considerably more.
    Your example looks interesting and I should think I could pick it up reasonably easily given I work with php which uses variables on a similar basis.

  • Change layout button in ALV Grids

    Hi Experts,
    I have displayed 2 ALV grids in a single screen using OOPS concepts and I have activated the Save Layout option for both the Lists.
    Now whenever I will save the layout for the 1st list then automatically it is taken into consideration for the common fields in the second list as well.
    Please help me on how I can avoid changing the 2nd list if I will change the 1st list if possible.
    Thanks in advance..

    Hello,
    I think u can achieve that by populating
    HANDLE
    LOG_GROUP fields of Disvariant structure in u r program.

  • How to set user specific Layout for executing IW38/IW39  report.

    Dear Experts,
    We have 10 users seperatly, For executing IW38/39 transaction they have maintained seperate layouts for executing the reports. While saving layout they have saved the layout as 'user specific' Now some body has chage the settings.
    After changing the setting all are getting same layout.
    Please suggest how to set user specific layout. When user enter the IW38/39 report by default he should get his layout.
    Thanks in advance.

    Create Variant using SHD0 and with Group and assign to particular user's
    Here is the steps
    Creating a Variant Group
    1. Open transaction SHD0, enter the transaction code, and press enter.
    2. Choose the Standard Variants tab page, and then the sub tab page Variant Groups, and enter a group name, such as GROUP_GEN
    3. Choose Create. Enter a short text on the Maintain Variant Group window that appears and save the variant group.
    Assigning Users
    Once you have created the variant group and the relevant transaction variants with screen variants, you now need to assign users to the variant group as follows
    1. Return to the Standard Variants tab page, Variant Groups sub tab page.
    2. Enter the name of a user that you want to assign to this variant group, and choose Assign. A message that this user was successfully assigned to the variant group appears in the status bar. If you choose a where-used list for users, this user is displayed in the user list.
    3. However, for the screen variants of the variant group that you created above to be displayed for the user, you first need to select Set Proposal. The user is assigned to the group and the associated transactions are started with the corresponding variants only once you choose the Set Proposal function.
    You can use this procedure of user assignment for all other users that you want to add to the variant group
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks

  • Use different Layouts for Summary and Details in Drill down report

    Hi All,
    I have a 2 level drill down report in ALV.
    The summary report has certain fields and the Detail report has different fields. Now my problem is that when i use a default layout (with all fields of summary report) for the summary report, and drill down to the detail report i'm missing the fields on detail that are not in Summary. And if i save the default layout as default (with all fields of Detail) and go back to sumary, I'm missing the some other fields on summary (which are not on detail report).
    Is there a way to make different default layouts for each of those summary and detail reports:
    Also as the layouts are choosen by the user, i cannot hardcode any particular layout;
    So if the user chooses a layout for detail; it has to stay the same layout for the detail report if he goes to summary and then back to detail; unless the user changes the layout again.
    I'm using two different Layout types for each report. but i still cannot get the desired effect.
    Data:
          gt_layout_s             type slis_layout_alv,
          gt_layout_d             type slis_layout_alv,
      call function 'REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY'
        exporting
          i_callback_program       = g_repid
          is_layout                = <b>gt_layout_s</b>
          i_callback_top_of_page   = g_top_of_page
          i_callback_user_command  = g_user_command
          i_callback_pf_status_set = g_status
          i_save                   = g_save
          is_variant               = gs_variant
          it_fieldcat              = gt_fieldcat[]
          it_events                = gt_events[]
        importing
          es_exit_caused_by_user   = gs_exit_caused_by_user
        tables
          t_outtab                 = it_summary.
      call function 'REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY'
        exporting
          i_callback_program       = g_repid
          is_layout                = <b>gt_layout_d</b>
          i_callback_top_of_page   = g_top_of_page
          i_callback_user_command  = g_user_command
          i_callback_pf_status_set = g_status
          i_save                   = g_save
          is_variant               = gs_variant
          it_fieldcat              = gt_fieldcat[]
          it_events                = gt_events[]
        importing
          es_exit_caused_by_user   = gs_exit_caused_by_user
        tables
          t_outtab                 = it_detail_disp.

    Here is how you differentiate between the layout of two different grids. There is the parameter, IS_VARIANT in the function. You usually leave it empty or pass only the report name and username. <b>What you need to do is to pass unique string for each grids to the HANDLE field of the parameter IS_VARIANT.</b> You can probably hard code it as HEADER and DETAILS in your case. Once that is done, system identified that these two different layout for different grids.

  • Layout for multiple column

    Dear all,
    I have a layout setting that is supposed to have multiple columns. The first columns I have a fixed width in pixel (for example 120px), and the rest of the columns I want to set it in %. So, if the user resize its browser, the first column will stay 20px, while the rest will resize accordingly.
    What is the best way of doing this in JSC?
    thank you in advance

    1. In first, second, and third rows, I have a label
    and a text field. I want to left justify the label,
    and the textfield. So, using gridPanel with 2 columns
    will do the job.
    2. In the fourth, fifth, sixth row, I have 2 labels
    and 2 fields.In this order?
    I want to keep the left justify setting
    for the first label and textfield. If can't use the
    grid panel because the layout for each labels are not
    left justified with the same component in the first
    and second rows. Beside the width of each labels and
    textFields are not the same.That's why I'am not using the label attribute of TextField but separate Label components.
    Create a Grid Panel with 4 columns and drop into
    label1, textfield1, dummylabel11, dummylabel12
    label2, textfield2, dummylabel21, dummylabel22
    label3, textfield3, dummylabel31, dummylabel32
    label4, textfield4, label5, textfield5
    label6, textfield6, label7, textfield7
    label8, textfield8, label9, textfield9
    Create CSS classes for example as follows:
    *.gridlabel {...}
    *.griddata {...}
    Set the columnClasses attribute of the GridPanel to "gridlabel, griddata, gridlabel, griddata".
    To arrange more than one components in one cell of the GridPanel wrap them in a LayoutPanel without attributes.

  • Sudoku grid - Pages Table

    On my iMac, I have created a Sukoku grid using a Table within Pages. But I can't find out how to make some more lines more bold to create the three-by-three boxes. I have read relevant posts here but not found the answer.

    If you are actually on OS X 10.9 and using Pages v5, then the following approach will visually identify Sudoku groups:
    Make a 9 x 9 table, and using the Arrange tab, size it to 6.5 x 6.5 in.
    Select the upper-left 3x3 group, and click the Cell tab.
    Click Border, and set it to the thickness desired for the group boundary
    Pick the color of your line in the adjacent color well, or color chooser globe
    Click the box with the leaning paint brush on a line icon
    Click the icon that represents a complete box outline
    Your first Sudoku group is now outlined.
    Repeat for each new 3x3 Sudoku group
    Click the following to enlarge. For challenging Sudoku play. Or an excellent teaching/play tool, get Sudoku Daily from the OS  X App Store. The in-app, paid update version allows you to key in a puzzle from another source, and then walk you through solving it. Also available for iPhone/iPad. I use OS X and IOS versions.
