Protect certain applications against certain developers

Dear Experts
If there is an administrator of apex workspace and he needs to protect or lock certain applications in the workspace against some developers or users of the workspace.
Can this be achieved in current apex release? If No what is the workaround?

No. Within the Builder there is no user/application access control below the workspace level: workspace developers have access to all applications within that workspace.
If No what is the workaround?
No workaround, just standard APEX practice: if it's necessary for developers to be restricted to working on certain applications, then the workspace must contain only those applications the user can work on.
At runtime, access to applications can be controlled using authentication and authorization schemes.

Is there a way to switch between workspaces in Spaces from the comnand line? I use several workspaces from Spaces, each workspace having a certain number of fixed applications running. Rather than set all this up each time I log on, I'd like to write a script from the command line (I use gawk) to automate this. Currently I have a gawk script that, given a directory, opens a few xterms whose working directory is the given directory, and opens "preview" applied to a certain file in that directory. However, at present I have to manually move an xterm through each workspace and run my gawk script in each workspace (applied to each directory that I'm working on).
There must be a better way...

Addendum: Can this be done via: open -a Spaces --args xxx , where xxx is some set of arguments (or something like this)?

Why can't Firefox cannot load certain applications on certain sites like a whole chatroom, video player or the reply box on a forum?

When I was ask to join this site ( the mozilla support site), firefox was unable to display the register or log in page, all i saw was the page getting darker and an unmoving white rectangle.
Also when I got certain site to watch a video like animefreak.com the video player will never appear, I have to use internet explorer to watch it.
There are some sites where the chatroom simply doesn't appear and others where I can't even use the reply box in the forum

Recently both the Yahoo! Toolbar extension and the Babylon extension have been reported to cause an issue like that. Disable or uninstall those add-ons.

MDNSResponder Fail on certain applications

Hi All, I am facing a weird problem recently. The problem started by not being able to send or receive any email from Gmail in mail application. Then I noticed that I can't connect with my Yahoo Messenger app and I get error for not bein able to connect to the server. Now I noticed not only that but Also I am not able any more to connect to vpn servers which have domain names as a server address. I changed the domain name to the IP address of the server address and It could connect.
For my yahoo messenger I tried to look at /var/log/system.log and I noticed that there is a error each time I try to connect to Yahoo messenger which is :

Also the problem in mail application exist only for gmail (I use gmail and another email address. One is working and gmail is not), I get error "Couldn't connect to this xxx IMAP/SMTP server" in Connection doctor for mail app for both SMTP and IMAP gmail server as well as iCloud IMAP. (IMAP enabled in Gmail of course) :

So I believe that there is a problem in my mDNSResponder or Bonjour service. The weird thing for me is that it is not working in certain application and certain addresses. I am able to ping 8.8.8.8 or I am able to telnet imap.gmail.com and connect to it.

While I am able to open gmail in my safari or ping and telnet this hosts in terminal.

No ideas yet, but i'm getting very similar errors. I'm pretty sure this coincided with installing the latest security update. What's interesting is i'm on 10.8.5. This is the console output when i start connection doctor in mail.

Its worth noting that like you other accounts seem to work fine, no indication of improper DNS settings. As I said this happened after running that latest security update to fix the SSL thing on 10.8.5.

How come I can't use the back gesture in certain apps with my magic mouse on certain applications in Lion OS?

How come I can't use the back gesture with my magic mouse on certain applications in Lion? I figured out that in Safari i have to use a 1 finger swipe to go back a page instead of 2 fingers like i used to do in Snow Leopard. But apps like iTunes and iPhoto and i can't do that. Any ideas? is there a setting im missing to make this work? It works in Safari but not any other applications, so im assuming theres no setting for this. Just want to know if this is just a bug that will be fixed in the next update or if its something I can fix now. Any help would be appreciated because its kind of annoying. Other than this minor issue I love Lion. Full screen apps are unbelievable.

Restoring certain applications from Time Machine located on Time Capsule

I have recently restored my HD from my Time Machine backup, located on my Time Capsule. However, when it was restored, I went from a standard 80G HD to a 64G SSD, losing lots of space. So I left off many 3rd party application, cleaned up space on the new HD, and want to selectively restore some of my 3rd party apps. Is it possible to access and chose only certain applications from the Time Machine backup that sits on my Time Capsule HD?

what applications are you trying to restore? Usually it's better to install from disks. Or download the latest application from the developers website.

it's also likely that you used two different apple IDs to purchase apps. if that's the case then you simply have to log out of your app store, and log into the other account to update the apps.
from experience it's not possible to syncronise purchased content from two different accounts. but you can always give Apple a call.

Creative Cloud Desktop fails to download certain applications.

So basically what happens is I am able to click the button, and the progress bar appears, but it doesn't progress past 0%, and no 'X' button appears next to it. If I quit during this period, Creative Cloud Desktop doesn't load up again, and I'm forced to restart.
So far this has happened only with certain applications. Premiere Pro (which I managed to install after a lot of tries) and just now SpeedGrade. Please help!

Try closing the App Store app via the iPad's multitasking bar and see if it works ok when you re-open it :
iOS 7 : double-click the home button to open the taskbar, and then swipe or drag the App Store app's screen from there up and off the top of the screen to close it, and click the home button to close the taskbar.
iOS 6 and below : from the home screen (i.e. not with the App Store 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the App Store app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't fix it then you could try a soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

How can I re-download certain applications that did not download properly?

I downloaded the creative suite but some apps such as photoshop and dreamweaver did not download properly. When I go to open the application I get the error message saying it may be damaged or incomplete. Is there a way to go back and download just the certain applications that did not download properly?

If you're using Lion, and the apps open automatically when you start up/log in, it's down to one of two things. Either
a) you had the application open when you shut down last time, or
b) you have that application set to open automatically.
If you don't want (a) happening, either quit the application completely before you shut down, or turn off all app resuming through System Preferences - General - untick "Restore windows when quitting and re-opening apps".
If the apps re-open even if you quit them before shutting down, check System Preferences - Accounts - Login Items. Delete any programs from the list that you don't want auto-launching when you log in.

Certain applications will not open after restart or waking up from sleep

My Macbook Pro running 10.9.2 won't open certain applications after restarting and sometimes after waking up from sleep. Google Chrome, Logic Pro X, Adobe Photoshop and Premiere seem to be the only progams affected. Firefox and Safari both work fine as well as many other applications. It seems to only affect programs that connect to the internet.
After a period of time the issue will resolve itself; sometimes after a few minutes and other times after several days. Then, these applications suddenly begin working again. I have also been having issues with my computer's ability to wake up. My best guess is that my computer isn't "fully waking up" upon restarts or when coming out of sleep mode. Both of these issues began around the same time and could be related. I've had both problems for several months through multiple software updates.
As far as troubleshooting goes I have done the following:
Safe Boot - (all programs work but are not effective due to lack of drivers being utilized in safe mode)
RAM/PRAM reset.
Disk Utility/Repair Permissions/Verify Disk
Any help or advice would be VERY appareciated.

Robin,
It sounds like your MacBook is logging out when the computer goes to sleep if you are getting the login window, which will of course close all your programs.
In System Preferences >Security, uncheck "Log out after.....minutes of activity".
See if this stops it from doing that.
