PSE10 Photobook print and save problem

Hey all
I have had some major problems with creating Photobooks on PSE10.
The problem is that I have is that it is not saving the PSE file correctly.
My last project (kids school prject) was complete (8 pages) and looked good with a title page.
I tried to print a few test pages and noticed that it printed the title page and page 2, skipping page 1.
After saving and exiting the program, I re-opened the file and the title page was gone and all of the other pages had a screwed up template that was twice as wide the template. The problem was compouneded by a lack of flexiblity in the printing area. Anything I tried did not work..ARRRRGGGG... Advanced mode was not too much help.
I finally saved it as a PDF, opened it Acrobat and was able to print. The project is still screwed up, but I was able to print it.
It would be great if Adobe allowed more flexiblity with the "page settings and size" for the canvas.
Templates are good, but more flexiblity is needed.
PSE10 should allow saving or exporting of a Photo Book to individual PSD files.
I am using a Win7 system, and a Canon iP6000 printer. The Photo Book template that I was using was "Storyteller".
Any ideas?

Hi,
There aren't any specific steps or settings for saving or printing a document.
To save it just single click on the agreement under the Manage page, and click the "PDF" button towards the top of the page. This will open the document in your default PDF viewing application where you can save it to your local system.
Once it is saved, I would try printing it from there. Having it saved to your system may make a difference.
Unfortunately, printing issues are difficult to troubleshoot since it deals with your local hardware and your local system.

i have share and save problem after latest update - i have installed ps touch on nexus 5 about 2 months ago and until yesterday everything was good but after latest update i can't save and share images in ps touch ( i do reinstall this app but problem is still and app doesn't work properly ) how can i downgrade to the old version ? Disable Print and Save button in tooldbar in AxAcroPDFLib.AxAcroPDF

Hi,
I am using AxAcroPDFLib.AxAcroPDF to display pdf files in my C# winform application.
I have a requirement now that for some documents alone i should disable the print and save button in the toolbar of my AxAcroPDFLib.AxAcroPDF window.
I need the rest of the buttons in the toolbar to be working.
Can someone please tell me how to disable these buttons in my c# code. What property i hsould set to my AxAcroPDFLib.AxAcroPDF object to make this happen.

There is nothing you can do via the C# APIs to disable these buttons.

Printing and extracting problem

I am using 5 forms which all contain similar data idenntifiers as well as different information. I discoverred that I could mergethe first two forms together and if the fields were named the same theefilling in the first form filled in the second. This workedwell as I wanted bothh of these pages printed. Forms 3, 4, &5 are similar in terms of having the same initial data and if merged with the first two would produce similar results (all being filled out by ne datat entry) however I don't need these printed at this time and perhaps will not need them printed at all. I want to have the merged file (all five forms) so that I fill out the data on Form 1, am able to print pages 1 & 2, and then extract and save separately pages 3, 4, & 5. The end result is a form bank with completed forms ready to use if needed saved in their respective files. Any solution?

Everything you said is true, so not sure what the problem is.
If you only want to print pages 1 & 2, then just enter that range in the print dialog when you print. Or if you want it automated, then create a JavaScript that only prints those pages.
Same with extracting the pages.

Adobe Reader X:Recurring issues with print and save requiring reinstalls

One of our staff has recurring issues with PDF print, view, save. These issue are temporarily resolved by re-installing the Reader from the Adobe website. No error messages are displayed - the functions just cease to work. In the most recent iteration of the issue a document attached to an email could be saved (right mouse click, save as) within the email program but not within the Reader itself.
It appears that Reader is getting corrupted - but by what? This individual does a lot of downloading of web published PDFs - a possible source but one I can't confirm.
Information on a permanent resolution or known cause would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks v much Twilight - once I had posted the question I saw the same issues were posted by another.
I'll try the print as image under the advanced print tab and see how I get on with that. Hopefully Adobe will bring out a fix soon.

PDF attachment sign and save problem

I've used digital signatures for quite a while without problem. Recently, I've noticed that when trying to digitally sign a PDF attachment from Outlook 2003 or 2010 using Adobe Acrobat Standard 7, I get an error when clicking Sign and Save. The Sign and Save As button works fine
Error is:
The document could not be signed.
There was an error when attempting to commit this signature. The document was not saved.
The file may be read-only, or another user may have it open. Please save the document with a different name or in a different folder.

Print and Save buttons in AS2

This is a two part question:
I have a flash application that has multiple layers of movie clips with an image in the background and the ability to position other movieclips on top of that image. I want to be able to print just the area the background movieclip takes up, or more specifically, I do not want to print the interface of the application, just the images that was created in the SWF itself by the user.
Using this code from the Adobe actionscript dictionary gives me part of what I want, but how can I define an area to print rather than printing the whole swf?

I'm guess the print area is specified by the bmovie, bframe, and bmax parameteres, but I'm not sure where or how I would go about setting those or which would be best for what I am trying to do.
The second part of my question is that I am looking have a save button to save the same area that the print button would be printing. I'm thinking of using a field for the user to enter a name into that will create a variable and then saving the file with the name of said variable. What code can be used to save and create this bitmap?

I see how a movieclip or a single level can be specified to print, but if multiple levels have been stacked can the stack of levels be printed?
For example, if level 1 contains the movieclip I want to have printed and level 2 has some vector drawings they created on top of the movieclip, can this print level 2 on top of level 1 as the user sees this on their screen and how do I do this?

Can i connect to a 'belkin USB Hub' so i can print and save images direct from my ipad 2..

I have just bought a 'Belkin USB Hub' so that i can have my printer and external hard drive in a home office rather than carting them around the house or having to sit in my back room when i want to print from my mac lap top, works fine , but my question is, is it possible to connect my ipad 2 to the hub so i can edit and print directly from that rather than having to re-sync to my laptop.

The only solution to enable printing with the iPad is via WiFi or by using one of the HP AirPrint compatible printers.

If you don't own of these printers you will need a third party app that will allow you to print. Print n Share, Print Central, and others are available in the App Store. Some of these apps will work only if your computer is turned on and may need a helper app for the computer as well. if you have a Mac you can use Printopia. The computer must be on for this app as well. Print Magic has been mentioned on this site a few times. Google or check the App Store.

One thing you need to check is if your internet connection is intermittent. If it is not, you can follow these steps to give the printer a better connection.
1. Find your printer's IP address by printing a network configuration page.
2. Type you IP address into the address bar of your web browser.
3. Click on the network tab at the top of the page.
4. Look at the left hand side and click IPv4 under wireless.
5. Change the IP settings to Manual.
6. Enter the printer's IP address, your subnet mask, and your routers IP address or default gateway in the spaces.
7. Set the Preferred DNS to 8.8.8.8.
8. Set the Alternate DNS to 8.8.4.4.
9. Click apply.(You may need to refresh the page if it says processing for longer than a min and click apply again.)
The printer should have a better connection now.

Schedule webi document to printer and save the output in shared drive

Is it possible to schedule a webi document via java BOE SDK, run at once, save the output in pdf format in a shared drive and at the same time, send the output to printer? Or I need to run the webi document to run 2 times? Thanks.

Printer and TC problems...

OK, I give up. I had a Canon iP90V connected to the USB in my MBP, now I tried moving it to my TC. Under AirPort Utility I can see the printer connected, but it doesn't respond any other way.
What am I missing here?

I found a solution to this problem. Open AirPort Utility>select the Time Capsule>Manual Setup>Select the "Printers" tab at the top>check the box in front of "Share printers over Ethernet WAN port">click update at the bottom and Voila!!

Printing and Office2004 problems

Hi all,
I have some problems that i need to solve, I'm using Pb g4 12" 1.3GHZ, 1.25 gig ram. Epson R1800 and HP PSC 1020 both connected using aiport express.
First, printing problem. Everytime i try to print, from photoshop, word, preview, freehand mx, everything, it takes a long time only to open the print dialog window. After setting up my printing, it also takes way too long to reach the printer (both using airport and direct usb/firewire). Beside that, everything is normal. My concern is, my friends' PBs arent like that. Whenever they press apple+p or click print, the dialog showed right away. And they connect to their printer just fine, not like me.
Second, Microsoft Office 2004 problem. Takes forever to open word and excel. I uninstall and install them and then update them, just help me a little. I have so many fonts and i realized that they are freezing on "optimizing font menu.........." So i deleted my aftermarket fonts and it helps a lot (I'm currently using fontbook but downloaded and planning to use fontExplorer X). Do fonts and fontbook have anything to do with this?
Third, slow booting. I know that it's a common topic but i've tried so many things and i still need to wait 5-8 minutes just to start up. I did disk utility, cleaning log files, checking my start up. I use only 20% of my HD as I store my musics and artworks in external HDs. The thing is... my PB booted faster after I deleted my fonts collection, but not fast enough.

It also happens when i connect them using usb/firewire. I asked my girlfriend to install the drivers on her PB G4 15" and printed something in my house. Her computer was just working fine and fast, way faster than mine... and I don't think it's a hardware issue or maybe it is.

Printing and language problem after re-installing BasePackage-Leopard ques?

I reinstalled BasePackage system as advised only it seems I reinstalled the entire package. What happened? It restarted and I received the window as if the computer was new and I had to fill in all the appropriate info. Well it worked fine saving all my settings etc. and I was able to verify permissions and repair. However MAIL started acting up and requested the password for my mail several times until I think that is solved.
But I have several problems now. I work with Arabic and Hebrew going over from the keyboard 'command/space' and now with this command I get Spotlight. On my word processor Nisus or Mellel or on TextEdit even if I click on the Hebrew/Arabic icon and also choose the appropriate Hebrew/Arabic font it will only write in English.
Aside from this I cannot print at all. I am using HP LaserJet 5MP with AppleTalk thru an ethernet connection on my router because of the outdated technology.I am using a 'bridge' from Asante technology for this.
I have an external Firewire HD which I have started up from now and I can print from this and have no problems with the Hebrew/Arabic.
Also I have not gone over to Leopard for the following reason. As mentioned above I am using a bridge thru ethernet to facilitate my printer. I have been told by many who have also not gone over to Leopard that there are driver problems with printers. Has this been fixed? Is it applicable to my situation?

You need to set the shortcuts in system prefs/spotlight and system prefs/keyboard and mouse

That sounds bad. You might try setting up a new user account and see if it works when you are logged in there. If not, I would reinstall the OS.

Printing and Sizing Problems with PDF Files

I have grading keys saved as PDF files. When I open them in the Adobe Reader X, some come up looking fine, fitting nicely on an 8.5" x 11" page and ready for print. Others come up looking shrunken and in the middle of the page. When I try to resize and print these, I get all kinds of funky results.
What I want to do is process all the PDF files (grading keys) so that they will fit nicely on the 8.5x11, without the user having to do a bunch a stuff resizing, etc.
I have included links to two PDF files below. The first comes up fine in the Adobe Reader and the sond does not. Can anyone help me with this perplexing issue? Thanks.

Note: I might add that when I open these files in Adobe Photoshop CS, the one above that looks good comes up with dimensions 23.687"x17.745", while the one that comes up looking funky has dimensions 10.24"x7.85". I am as confused as a termite in a yo-yo.

Both of your documents have the same size: 279.4mm x 215.9mm. The difference is that the 'good.pdf' has its content evenly distributed over the available size, the other one has its content minimized in the center, with a large white space around it (in Adobe Acrobat).
As for why it shows a different size in Photoshop, I have no idea.
There is not much you can do about it with Adobe Reader, but you can change the size using Photoshop or Illustrator. See attachment to this post.
