Publication of photos from iweb to mobile me produce an error

I am no longer able to publish photos from iweb to my mobile me site
The process starts well; but some minutes after, it stops at a file (not always the same) as if the time was up or the size too large (I have plenty of room in Mobile me).
It has worked some months ago for the first set of photos ...

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Try the following:
1 - go to the System/MobileMe preference pane and log out of MMe.
2 - login with a bogus username and password. This clears the caches.
3 - login with your correct username and password.
4 - launch iWeb and try again.
If that doesn't help continue:
1 - delete the iWeb preference file, com.apple.iWeb.plist, that resides in your User/Library/Preferences folder.
2 - go to your User/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder and delete the contents.
3 - reboot.
4 - launch iWeb and see if you can publish.
If that doesn't help:
5 - move the domain file from your User/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder to the Desktop.
6 - launch iWeb, create a new test site and save.
7 - go to the your User/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder and delete the new domain file.
8 - move your original domain file from the Desktop to the iWeb folder.
9 - launch iWeb and try again.

Trashing the preference file may help, as I've outlined in the topic I've linked to. Otherwise, follow the steps regarding removing 3rd party QuickTime components. Also, see the final post by the OP (EEye87) regarding how his problem was resolved (a combination of trashing the preference file and the 3ivx component).

Downloading photos from iweb to iphoto

I thought I had lost an album of photos but have found that I uploaded them to iWeb, which I no longer use.
Is there any way to download them to iPhoto other than one at a time?

Two options.
One
If you still have the domain file iWeb uses to store its assets, then find it, right-click and choose Show package content from the menu.
A folder opens and your original images are there.
The domain file is here :
~/Library/Application Support/iWeb
where ~ is your Home directory.
Two
Depending where you publish, either mount your iDisk (MobileMe) and navigate to the Web > Sites folder.
Or
When you publish elsewhere, connect to that server.
Browse your Site to find the images. Note that these are not the originals you dropped on the iWeb page.

Facebook Thumbnail Photo from iWeb Site

When adding a link to facebook, no thumbnail appears, as if no photo were on the page at all. I checked all usual suspects, no avail.
In regards to that, is the text on iWeb site able to be 'grabbed' by search engines?

Hey guys i figured it out.
Well sort of, for now (still testing it) the main picture that i wanted (because i uploaded it to my site, (snapshot, cropped, saved in the welcome_files folder maybe it didnt upload just yet) but the other photos on my welcome page are there, (i did this only for the welcome page, i guess doing it to each of the pages would be wise:

IMPORTANT: (Remove the space between < and link) Make sure you change the href to where the image is hosted, using the full URL.
FOR NON IWEB: In order to get Share Preview and other features to read the image correctly, you need to make sure it's between the head tags in your html. It also helps to have the meta tags "title" and "description".

How to delete old photos from iWeb in MobileMe

As iWeb 1.1.2 no longer works I need to find another way of editing the old iWeb data I am still paying for on my iDisk.

If you simply want to delete your whole site, then delete the folder named as your site: Select it and click on the red "Delete" icon in the upper toolbar. (Don't delete the Sites folder itself.)
If you want to edit the HTML, the following is quoted from _this old thread_...
You can use the TextEdit which comes with Mac OS and just make sure in the preferences to make it "Ignore rich text commands in html files", you'll find it in the "Open and Save" tab.
Some on this forum recommend the free TextWrangler for easier editing of HTML files:

Drag&Drop from Zotero to Google Docs produces encoding errors

Can some of the Zotero users reproduce the problem that when dragging and dropping a reference from Zotero to Google Docs, the result will have some unrecognisable encoding errors?

Bernd, thanks for the helpful suggestion - I may be able to change my procedure and use that feature. It would save me thousands of mouse clicks if I just found and dragged each .doc into the target folder, then used an Action to convert them all to PDF. I still like the 'smart' folder idea, though....it would be a cool utility.

That is one heck of a post for a newcomer here. Your instructions worked like a charm, with one exception:
When uninstalling the Broadcom Device, I had to check the box to delete the driver, and then had to scan for new hardware to get the device to show back up. Then I was able to load the edited driver software.
I am not complaining, but very grateful, as I was pulling my hair out on this one.

There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on seven different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary from version to version and OS to OS. So before anyone can help, they need information to work with. Basic stuff:
- What version of iPhoto.
- What version of the Operating System.
- Details. What were you doing when the problem arose?
- Did it ever work properly?
- Are there error messages?
- What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
Anything else you can think of that might allow someone else to understand your issue.
With this kind of information somebody can develop a starting point for troubleshooting the issue.
Posts that consist of "iPhoto doesn't work. Help" or "iPhoto won't print" or "Suddenly I have no photos!!!!!!!!!!" mean that any helper is simply guessing. More information means you get better assistance. (And no, more exclamation marks do not get help faster or make your issue seem urgent. They just make it seem like you have a stuck key )

can anyone tell me how to get a photo from the mobile me gallery onto a contact in the address book.?

You are extremely helpful!!! Thanks. I went into my Free Agent peripheral hard drive and searched for the domain files and, sure enough, they were there. I clicked on them and all of my old websites opened up in iWeb 08 (I also saved that entire program on this hard drive). The only problem I have now is when I click on the iWeb icon in my dock, iWeb 08 opens and iWeb 09 is no longer there with my newer sites! I'm sure I can open that by clicking on the newer backed up domain files and I assume it will automatically open up iWeb 09. Again, many thanks for your help. One of my sites I use for my business and it is quite a complex secure site with about 50 downloadable documents on it. If I had to rebuild that, it would have taken a long time!!!

Photo gallery page from iWeb '08 doesn't work for Mac OS X 10.3.9 user?

I have recently published a photo gallery page with comments on using iWeb '08 (latest update). Displays fine for me and apparently a lot of other mixed-platform users. But one user is saying that his eMac with Mac OS X 10.3.9 and the Safari of the day don't display the pictures. He gets the banner and background image for the gallery, but not the actual pictures. I asked him to try Firefox, but so far no reply on that.
Do the older versions of Safari work with content from iWeb '08?

Unfortunately this is not true. On an iMac G4 10.3.9 using Safari you cannot even view the photos, the photo page or even the web gallery itself. You just get a warning. But Kirk, they don't, none of them! and this kind of stuff just seems crazy to some of us. I wish that Apple would TELL US or advertise the facts like, Oh, you only get ONE gallery for each user on Web Gallery (useless) and Oh, you will not be able to edit 06 iWeb pages with 08 iWeb and the iLife 08 version of iPhoto you will not be able to view these galleries without upgrading to the latest Safari web browser. Yes we always expect some bugs with a major update but this is getting ridiculous.
I have not yet had anybody try downloading the newest version of Firefox that will work with 10.3.9. Do you know if that will make a difference? Thanks for your help.

Exporting photos from iPhoto to iWeb

When I'm in iPhoto and I send pictures to iWeb, it creates a page for my new pics. Problem is, I don't want it to show the file name of all the pictures. I could change the options of the page to show 0 lines underneath it, and problem solved, BUT I want to type comments under some of the pics, so I have to have it show at least 1 line under them. So what I am doing now is deleting every file name from every picture that comes in one by one. Just by clicking on the file name and hitting delete. It's kind of a pain to do for 100+ pics, so I'm wondering if there is something I am missing to make this process easier. Can I specify somehow to not show the file names?

Before sending the photos to iWeb select them and use the Photos->Batch Change->Title to Empty menu option. This will remove the title and the photos can go to iWeb without them. After the transfer to iWeb you can restore the titles to the file name with the same menu.
