Purchasing Group Basic Question

Gurus,
I have a some basic question in EBP................
1. Creating PO is Purchasing Group is mantatory.
2. Classic Scenario - If i create Shopping Cart for local Purchasing group. PO can create without error in backend(R/3).
3. Extended Classic Scenario - If i create Shopping Cart for local Purchasing group. PO Copy can create without error in backend(R/3).
Thanks

Hello,
R/3 needs always a purchasing group to create the PO.
1. Creating PO is Purchasing Group is mantatory.
Yes
2. Classic Scenario - If i create Shopping Cart for local Purchasing group. PO can create without error in backend(R/3).
I think that you need the purchasing group.
Check crmd_orderadm_h table and BBP_PD transaction
3. Extended Classic Scenario - If i create Shopping Cart for local Purchasing group. PO Copy can create without error in backend(R/3).
I have not experience in Extended Classic Scenario. I know that PO can not be canges in R/3.
Keep in mind that for R/3 the purchasing group is a mandatory field.
Hope it will help!
Cheers,
Marta

  • Purchase groups question org-structure

    Hi All,
One of our buyer left the company and now we want to remove him from the drop-down list of the purchase groups which one gets in SC basic data tab.
For this, I was trying to remove the flag for this buyer as pur.grp in PPOMA_BBP, but before I carry out this step, I wanted to ask you experts, if this has any after affects. (by the way the org and prod- responsibilities from this buyer are already assigned to another buyer).
    Thanks.

    Hi Rahul,
Pls elaborate on the business scenario u have mappened in SRM.
If you are using the same buyer for processing of documents other than SC (like PO, contract, Bid Inv. where we mainatin Pur grp) in SRM, you will have to keep the buyer in SRM organizational structure. Otherwise for processing of these open documents you will face some error.
If its only SC creation scenario in your case, you can remove the Pur Grp flag for that user.

    Hi experts,
We are using SRM 7.0 and stand alone scenario. When we are creating shopping cart, we cannot we cannot find the purchasing group field in item basic data. We have not changed any standard SC layout and I've already specified the responsibility of the purchachsing group.  Now I have no idea why the purchasing group is not visible.
Can anybody help me on my issue?  Many thanks.

    Hi,
The values are getting populated in the include "LBBP_SC_UI_ITSF49"...

  • Basic Questions from Prospective Lion Server Switcher

I have five servers I am running right now using Windows 2003 Server and various 3rd party packages.     Several years ago I became a Mac fan, moved all of my client based stuff to Mac, and now want to start moving my server based equipment to the OSX platform.
I stopped by my local Apple Store, and they had a version of OSX Lion Server running on a MacMini, but couldn't seem to answer the most basic of questions because as their business people stated "We are not Server Certified" ... they recommended I talk to an outside consultant to get these basic questions answered which seems a little extreme.
So I'm hoping the group can help.
    (1) I read through most of the Lion Server Advanced Administrative manual.    Lion server appears from the manual to do most of what I need.   However, when I tried doing some of the functions in the manual on the demo Lion Server at the Apple Store, many of the functions I wanted to do did not seemed to either be installed, or their were buttons missing in the Server App.     I do not know if this was a permission level problem, because the account I setup for myself had administrative rights.
    (2) In the mail app, it only appeared you could setup one mail domain.    It appeared you could setup virtual domains and users through the user app, but not through the mail domain itself?
    (3) I could not find any where to enable DNS services.    The manual seems pretty straight forward in turning on DNS, but the Lion Server I saw had no DNS services running, or any way to enable them?
    (4) Same for mailman listserv type function ... manual seems to be straight forward on enabling under the mail server, but again, no signs of the settings or enabling under the mail service.
    (5) Under the mail app, didn't find any way to setup alternative SMTP ports  ( I allow now Port 26 besides the standard Port 25 and SSL ports for my users.) ... I find port 26 gets past most firewalls at hotels etc.      Didn't see any way to control SMTP authentification too.
    (6) Under the Lion Server tech description, it talk about a built in web editor, saw nothing of the kind.
So did the apple store have a limited install or am I missing something that the lion server manual does not match the capabilities of lion server.
Love to get a straight answer before purchasing hardware to replace 5 present machines.
    Thank you.
    David

Thanks for quick response.   Indeed, in hindsight, it appears that they had only installed the Server App, but not the Server Admin tools.
Unfortunately, I am not a system admin, but I played one on TV <grin>
All kidding aside ... I'm willing to learn, but would need most of the basics controlled through the GUI ... and then feel comfortable reading up and editting configuration files and running commands from the Terminal.
On this line, is there good documentation of this, or is this something that you know because you are familiar with Unix?    ie something like the alternate port issue ... is this something in the GUI, or something I would have to edit via Terminal?
Just trying to make an informed decision before jumping platforms.
    Thanks
    David

  • The correct purchasing group is not being determined in the SC line item

    Dear all,
I have a problem in that for some reason, when a shopping text line item is added to the shopping cart, the wrong purchasing group is determined. Further more when you look in the basic data section they is a drop down against the purchasing group field listing all pruchasing groups setup in the org plan via PPOMA_BBP.
This means that the requisitioner can change the purchasing group to any one even the one that is not relevant to his or her Purchasing Organisation. This of cause is not right because if the requisitioner is allowed to change the P/Grp, the wrong buyer may end up recieving the buyer completion work item.
    What is causing this?
We have uniquely assigned P/Orgs to P/Grps and assigned resposiibility of P/GRPS to one unique ORg unit (company).
for example, a suppose product Category 1234567 is assigned to P/GRP 100 & P/GRP 100 is assigned to P/ORG 1000 and the P/GRP responsibility is set to Org unit(company) 1000,  The requisition "sits" under an orgunit linked to company 1000.
If a requisitioner creates a text item and assigns product category 1234567, when the item is added to the shopping cart , I expect to see that the followig:
    1. The Company code(CC)should be 1000 (This is happening)
    2. The P/org should be 1000(This is happending)
    3. The Plant sssignment is correct
    4. The p/grp is worong. It appear that the first P/Grp is assigned plus a drop down listing all p/grps created for all purchasing P/Orgs.
    Regards,
    Grace

    Yann,
Yes , we have (need to have)set 2 purchasing groups with the responsibility of the same product category. We have to do this because in our organisation, individual company purchasing organisations have same responsibilities to purchase similar products.
Please note that we have a classic scenario implementation. SRM 4, Server 5.
The business requirement and settings in the org plan is for example:
P/Grp 100 has the reponsibility to procure Prod cats LAM001 to LAM010 via its assigned P/org 1000 which is linked to  own company 1000 and P/grp 200 also has the reponsibility to procure Prod cats LAM001 to LAM010  via its assigned P/org 2000 which is linked to own company 2000.
Please note that thr buyer responsible for p/grp 100 & 200 are the same and will be the same for similar product cats across the organisation as a whole. Its just the SRM does not allow you in the orgplan to assign the same p/grp to multiple p/orgs, we had to double up on the p/grps.
Also when a requisitioner who sits under company 2000 chooses a product cat 12345 if creating a SC text line, we DO NOT WANT the requisitioner to change the assigned p/grp.We want it defaulted to 200 (based on the org plan setting I have described above) and fixed(greyedout)
when thr line item viewed in the basic data section.
Do you think that because we have set the prod cat range LAM001 to LAM010, which is an alphanumeric product cat range, that could also be the reason for the dropdown listing all orplan p/grps even ones that do not have the product cat LAM001 to LAM010 in its responsubility assignments?
If you are saying that the system does not know which p/grp to pick, why its it displaying all "unrelated" p/rps in the dropdown. I atlest expect to see two p/grps in the dropdown 100 & 200, because only these two p/grps have been set with product cat responsibility for LAM001 to LAM010 in our org plan.
Also if you are saying that is the way SRM was designed to work (which may be the case!!!) how then can we set the org plan to meet our the purchasing org/purchasing grp /prod cat responsibility requirements I have described above?
    Regards,
    Grace

  • The default value of purchasing group in "carry out Sourcing "

    Dear , expert :
         I work in SRM7.0 ,ECS!
I have two questions about the screen of    "carry out Sourcing ":
1,How can set the default value of purchasing group ?Now the default is empty .
2.The purchaser can select many purchaser group here ,I want to know what controls this .in the group responsibility ?
    Thanks!

    Hi Alex
If there are more purchase group responsible for one product category. the end user (requestor) can select which purchase group before he order a cart.
so that sc goes to respective purchaser cockpit  in the sc ?
if you have only one purchase group responsible . no probem
    or
    redistribute workload
you can distribute your cart to another purchaser
for eg. initailly ALEX is purchase group in the sc.
now you can transfer MASA purchase group  via redistribution workload
so now the sc shows in the MASA cockpit with new purchase group as MASA instead of ALEX purchase group name

  • How to show purchasing group members in the item data of the shopping cart?

    Dear Experts,
for s shopping cart in SRM 7.0 CS, i have the following business requirement:
In the item data tab of the line item details, the drop down field for Purchasing group is there. Right to this field, there is also a link called "Show members".
If i go on this link, than a small table opens that obviously is there to contain such additional information about the purchasers like name, telephone nummber or extension.
Currently, this small table does not contain any of this additional information for any of the used purchasing groups.
Can you please help me understand, how and where i can maintain this information in the sytem, so it shows in the shopping cart?
Thank you very much for your help.

    Hi,
thank you very much for the answer.
Actually, the question is not how to create the organizational unit of purchasing group in the PPOMA. This is all done. I just would like to understand, whether there is somewhere a place where i can maintain the name and maybe also the phone number of the buyer himself.
Thus, i would hope to see these details (i.e. the name and the phone number) in that small table that opens up if i click on the "Show members" link that is situated right to the purchasing group field in the "Item data" tab of the details of the line item.
    Thank you.

  • Purchase group in Purchase order from creator not from Material Master

    Hi All,
Can you please help me with the next one?
    Points rewarded.
In the materialmaster is purchase group 44B entered but
The default purchase group of the buyer is 55C. Is it possible
that the value 55C is automaticaly placed in the PO when
the buyer creates the Purchase order?
At this moment always the default value from Material
    master is proposed.
    Thank you in advance,
    Eric.

    Hi,
You have to look at the overall process.
The idea of the Purchasing Group is to indicate which buyer manages that material in that plant.
SO when the system (or a user) generates a requisition for that item at that plant, the system then knows who should convert it etc.
So my question to you would be, "why have you got a default P group in the material master record that is NOT the buyer who manages that item at that plant?"
If several buyers share a list of materials then just use one P group for the "group" of buyers, instead of separate P groups for each buyer.
The system doesn't have the option to automatically overwrite the P group on the requisition because this may be someone just "helping out" the buyer who is busy and so it does not mean that the requisition should be changed to be linked to this other P group.
You already have the field "created by" on the PO and so if you need to report on who created what, then simply use this field instead of P group.
But the P group on the material master (and therefore the requisition) shoudl ALWAYS be the P group that will convert reqs for this item plant combination.

  • Purchase Group Dropdown

    Hi
In the basic data of a shopping cart, the purchase group dropdown has more than one purchase group and the first in the list is defaulted incase the user does not manually chooses from the dropdown.
The requirement is to have default as blank and then force the user to choose the correct purchase group.
Any inputs if we this option by doing configuration changes?
    With Regards
    Sathya

    Sathya,
We had a similar requirement, but for Cost Centers (CNT).  The solution was simple.
    Try this...
In PPOMA_BBP, at the highest level (ot level you want) enter a blank (i.e. empty) value for the Purchasing Group (PURCH_GRP) atttribute.
Let me know it it works.
    Hope my suggestion helps.
    Thanks

  • Purchase Group - Purchase Executive

    Hi,
Each Purchase Group has 3 executives.  when PR is generated it will generate for PG only,  Here the requirement is after creating the PR, based on Purchase Group, he will assign to the respective executive for further processing.  How can it be mapped in sap?
    Reply me in detail.
    Munna

    Dear Ramesh, Jurgen,
Excuse me for contradicting your answer. Intention is not to say your solution is not appropriate but I carry different understanding on this.
what appears from Munna question is that he want to know which purchase requistions were alloted to which executive for purchase order.
if the Purchase group is changed the direct link is gone, then he has to develop a report to know for which PREQ the original Purchase group was there and subsequently it was changed to which purchase group.
what I suggest is he should create an addition field in PO screen to accomodate the executives, anyhow the purchase group info will be retained in PO from PREQ.
he can have both the things without losing the orginality.
    Regards
    Rajesh

  • Purchasing group -- Organizational responsibility

    Hello,
We are trying to create a report(BDC) to attach purchasing group to purch org.
In the Flat file we would be entering the basic data, address, function and responsibity.
But for reponsiblity we are able to find only the product category responsibility( trxn PP01).. we are not able to find organizational responsiblity field in the same because of which that cannot be updated.
    Please help in this issue
    Regards
    J

Hi. Yes. You can ECATT on transaction PO10 or PP01.
Put in the org unit numbers and maintain the "EBP Product Responsibility" infotype.
It might tell you that you can not do this, but you can enable it by maintaining T777I in SM30.

    Dave.

  • Purchasing Group problem

    Hi all,
we have implemented SRM 4.0 with CCM 2.0 in extended classic scenario. Therefor we have created 3 local purchasing groups. My question is which setting controls which purchasing group is chosen by creating a shopping cart?
    BR,
    Bernd

    Hi Bernd,
Do you want to enter sources of supply to be assigned while making SC only?
Then you need to define a vendor root org.
and assign yr suppliers to it.
You can transfer yr R/3 vendor masters to EBP
    with transaction BBPGETVD
    it works wrt pur org.

  • Basic questions on iPhone apps. Please help!

Hey I have a few semi-basic questions about iPhone apps. If you know the answers to any of them please respond as it would help me ton. Even if you dont know the exact answer, it'll help me with any input. Trapster is a good example of what im looking for because it uses a map and it receives/sends small amounts of data constantly.
    1) How much on average does it cost to hire a group of people to code an app for you. Specifically, how much do you think the app Trapster took to program? Are there any specific other apps you know how much it took to code? I need estimates, because I have nothing. A number like 50,000 would help a ton more other then saying "it depends" .....
    2) Apps like Trapster, send and receive small amounts of data all the time? What controls all of this data? Im guessing a server. But what are the server's specs? How many? Price per month?
    3) With 3.0 SDK now out, you are now allowed to implement google maps into 3rd party applications. Now I know you cannot use it for turn-by-turn navigation. But can you still use the directions feature already on google maps? Can you still use the search feature to search for a restaurant as well? Or maybe you can just see the map and thats it. Does anyone know exactly what you can use with google maps or know where there is more information? Ive tried everywhere.
    4) Just tell me if this is correct: You can add advertisements into your app. On average, for every 1000 times your app gets opened, you get about 1.00-2.00. So if your app gets opened 2,000,000 times you get $2,000 from advertising if you get 1.00/1000. Is that accurate as an average?
    5) Since 3.0 now supports push notifications, would you be able to have anything at all running in the backround? For example, on trapster, if you approach a red light camera, the app beeps. With 3.0, if you are on the home screen and approaching the camera, is there a way of getting the iphone to beep even though your just on the iphones main screen or any other screen? Im guessing not because in order to receive the push the iphone needs to know your current location and the location of the camera, which is why the app would need to be running. Incase im wrong is there a way of doing this?
    6) If an app is free and does not do advertising, does it make any money? If so how?
    Thanks!

    >"If an app is free and does not do advertising, does it make any money? If so how?"
    Of course.
It's called 'reputation earned'. You negotiate your future based on attention from something (a free app?) that amazes the known world. Could be a book deal after you spend your young/old life crossing the divide - could be a marriage proposal that brings great wealth - could be a cabinet position with a station in a foreign tax haven.
    Use your imagination.
As for cost, pull a number out of your hat and then double it...then double it again. Same goes for time, staff and delays.
