Push-replication pattern does not work in activeactive mode - infinite loop

Hi Gurus,
I have encountered some problems while playing with the example of push-replication / active2active pattern, and tried to fix them. But there is still one which is now beyond my current knowledge:
Issue 1: (fixed)
After download the latest Incubator example from the official website and run the push-replication / active2active example directly following the [readme] file, exceptions related to serialization / deserialization occurred. I then added the mockito-all-1.8.5.jar to the Incubator-example’s lib directory and the problem gone.
Issue 2: (fixed)
Running the example, and found that [update events] triggered by the active-server1 can be propagated to active-server2, but not for vice versa (active-server2 -> active-server1). I inspected the cache configuration file of active-server2 (active2-cache-config.xml), and found there should be a typo in it, as:

This should be a typo, so I changed the remote-sit1 to remote-site1 and the problem gone as expected.
Issue 3: (pending)
After having the above 2 issues fixed, and re-run the example from scratch, this time I found the program can never end (infinite loop). From the log, I can see the update-count exceeds 5000 (expected value is 2000 which will trigger the program exit) and keep increasing????????

Issues 1 and 2 are now resolved in Incubator 11.0.0
Issue 3 looks to be a problem with the lack of a suitable base-case preventing eventual consistency between the sites.
Note: That the Auction example, which is also "Active Active" does not have this problem.

Validataion does not work in batch mode

We created an FI line item validation for transaction FBV1 that does a validation on a field and displays an error message if the validation fails. We have an RFC that uploads data from an Excel template and runs a BDC Call Transaction to upload and park the document. This worked well when we were on 4.6C but when we upgraded to ECC6.0, the Validation works fine when we manually call the FBV1 in SAP and the Validation DOES get triggered and displays a message if the line item validation fails but when we run FBV1 in batch mode, (RFC which contains a call transaction to FBV1) the validation does not work.
I set up break a point in the generated program GBTBOFID where the exception error gets triggered and traced the FI Validation. The program will not display the error Validation message when run in batch but when run online, the error message gets triggered.

CALL TRANSACTION 'FBV1' USING bdcdata options from X_OPTIONS
After the call transaction the program automatically triggers some SAP generated code for a Validation check for FBV1 line item that we have put in through IMG. The message that should be displayed is in the FI validation check of FBV1.
I put a break point in the SAP generated code for the Validation where the message should be displayed. The program executes the statement that should raise the exception and display the message. As soon as the statement is executed, conrol returns to the the the SAP transaction FBV1 program and the program continues to finish.
The statement that executes and does not display the error message is:
CASE valsevere.
        WHEN 'A'.
          MESSAGE ID msg_id    TYPE valsevere   NUMBER msg_nr
                  WITH msgv1 msgv2 msgv3 msgv4

I should mention that in debug mode, I check the values of msg_id, msg_nr, msgv1 etc. and they all have values of a message class that we have created.
The above code is in a SAP generated program for FI Validation (GBTBOFI0, include FGBB100R).
-- We only have this issue when we use the FBV1 transaction in batch mode. Runing FBV1 directly online works fine.
-- The issue is unique to ECC 6.0 environemnt. We did not have this problem in 4.6C

Cache clear does not work in timer mode

Hi,
I am using the webshop (ISA) on CRM 5.
In the b2c/admin application you have the option to clear the cache, this works when I click "clear" (manually), but you should also be able to specify an interval (TTL), this does NOT work. Do I have to have a separate Timer of Notifier application running to make this work?

I believe the voice control is activated when the home button is pressed for more than a few seconds, this only happens to me when I put the phone unlocked in my bag or trouser pocket and had to contact Apple phone support.
For anyone who needs step by step instructions (like me), whilst voice control is activated the phone responds differently until voice control is turned off.
1) Slowly, (using 2 fingers can help), slide to the right to unlock screen
2) Tap the first number in your passcode until a square appears around the number key. This shows that number is activated. Then double tap the number key and a dot should appear in the first box. Tap the next number key in your passcode until the box appears around that number and then double tap until dot appears and continue.
3) Main menu > Settings (tap settings until square appears and then double tap) >General (following double tap principle)> Accesibility> VoiceOver (on), slide to off (tap once to activate and slide to off).
If you haven't got access to your home computer when this happens, I hope this helps.

BPC75NW: Offline Distribution of reports does not work in Schedule mode

Hello BPC experts,
I'm new in SAP world.
I have the following problem.
In BPC 7.50.06 NW I'm trying to adjust the distribution on e-mail to schedule.
I set up Distribution List. When I start the Offline Distribution Wizard -> Distribute Now all works without problems.
The problem starts when I start the Offline Distribution Wizard in the Schedule mode. All the settings I do the same as at "Distribute Now".
Then I set the report should be sent daily, starting with 13.10.2011, indicating the Start Time. As a System password I'm pointing my domain password (I know no other passwords).
At the time specified in the Start Time nothing happens, i.e. the schedule does not work.
Tell me, please, if faced with a similar problem, how it can be solved?

Also search for ActiveX Controls and Browser permissions, you'll likely have problems there also since most Browsers will not or do not recommend allowing any ActiveX control.

Format option does not work in reply mode re Bt Ya...

Hi There - I wonder if anyone has had this problem? When clicking on reply to a recipient's email I find that the format option does not work! (I use this to highlight my reply in a different text colour) It works fine when I compose a new email msg but not when using reply.
I am finding this switch over to this 'new improved' Yahoo email a nightmare to be honest. I would never have tried it out had I known I would not be able to switch back.
Why didn't I heed that age old saying 'why fix it if it ain't broke'
I would appreciate any help.

No - none of those. Formatting just does not work! It was as if I had not tried to format - it just did NOTHING.
However, by some miracle (and believe me it was) I have been able to return to my old BT Yahoo Classic and the problem is no more!
Wow! That 'All-new Bt Yahoo Mail' leaves a lot to be desired! Thank goodness I got out of it even there was no 'Switch Back' available. Like I said "It was a miracle'!!!!!

Upgraded LV7 to 8.2.1 and List Folder pattern does not work anymore as it did

I have upgraded LV7 to 8.2.1 and use XP.
In a vi developed in LV7 I used the List Folder with pattern input to check wether a file name already exist in a folder (path). This worked very well in LV 7 as the function return the filename if the exisiting filename matched the pattern input. In 8.2.1 this fucntion still exists but it does not return the filename as it used to do which is rather annoying.
Has anybody else experienced this ie is it a bug? or is the operation of the function changed?

Hi Jack,
I can understand your frustration.. We had a thread complaining about the changes when it was first introducted. Now that I'm used to it, I wouldn't go back..
However, you can keep all versions of Labview installed on the same PC, meaning that Labview versions 7.0, 7.1, 8.0, 8.2, 8.5 can all happily co-exist on the same PC. The benefit is that you can use the original version that you developped your code and continue to enhance the code using the original version without having to adapt to the newer version. However, going up versions should be compatible, unless you are adding new features.
There is one catch in what I described. And you must keep a backup copy of your code. If you open an older version using a newer version and save it, you cannot open it again in your older version, unless you use Save As Previous. For that reason, it is best to keep an extra copy somewhere (which is always good practice anyway).

Print report does not work in built mode (LV7.1+XP)

I've read some threads about the topic in this Q, but no solution. So my hope is that NI has resolved the problem. Here it goes:
In normal edit mode I can use the Print Report.vi (using the default win printer) to print out some data. The generated report is a standard NI report (that is NOT HTML).
When building an application this no longer works. No data is passed to windows (the printer icon in the system tray never appears) - and hence no output on the printer!
I use WinXP and LV7.1 in both modes. The printer is a HP2300 LaserJet but I've also tried using the old stable Canon LBP 8 II on the FILE: port - but in .exe mode the file box does not appear.
I really hope that NI has a solution
for the problem since we need the built application on several client. And we do not want to pay for several LV licenses.
Speculations on both the application builder and report generation tools have been given in previous threads... However, these gave no solution and all threads are from before LV7.1.

Are you sure you checked the "NI R
eport Support" under the Advanced
button of the Installer tab in the application builder?

Web service does not work in production mode

Hi!
I created a small web service with the WorkShop in BEA Weblogiv 7.0.
If I start the server in production mode, then my service is not visible. It can
not be accessed, neither its WSDL. In development mode it works. I tried to create
an EAR file and deploy it, but when I do that in the web console, it all says
that it is deployed, but I can not access the WSDL or anything else.
Does the WSDL URL change in production mode ?

I deployed it to managed server at port 8002 and admin server at 7001. but still, admin server works and the other one does not.

Apple External Modem FAX Does Not work in 64bit mode

Apple needs to update its Fax Driver to 64bit mode. Since upgrading to the i7 in 10.6.6, the system boots in 64bit mode which is great! Except i can't fax anymore from my MacBook. Research has shown that it only works in 32bit mode. I do not want to boot in 32 at this point. Anybody know of any other solutions, external fax modems or 64bit drivers or software that will work with the Apple External modem?

I am having similar issue. I can't order a new McBook Pro until I know I can fax directly from it ... its essential for me. I'm shocked no one as addressed your concern. Is Apple so arrogant when it comes to their business customers that they abandon fax/telephony technology with out a fall back position or warning to users?
I got used to Microsoft arrogance; but I was hoping more user concern from Apple.

Pass code does not work in voice mode

Pass code to unlock phone is not being accepted in the voice control mode. The voice mode came on without me selecting it. This is the second time this has happened. Does anyone know what causes this problem resetting the phone does not fix this problem.

Break statement does not work outside of switch or loop?

I was just messing around in Xcode and I discovered that, when I tried to use the break statement to exit a block of code, I got an error ("break statement not within loop or switch"). I thought the break statement was supposed to be able to be used to exit any block of code at any time, so I opened my Mac OS X Programming book by Wrox (a bit outdated, uses older version of Xcode/Interface Builder, but applicable enough), and the book confirmed that I should be able to use the break statement within any block of code, not just switch/case construction and loops. I assume something has changed in the newer version of Xcode since this book has been published, but I'm curious, so can anyone explain this to me? Thanks!

Yeah, that seems to be the case, and that's the only way I've ever used "break," but I did think it could be used to exit any block of code, especially having read it in the book I have. The book is Mac OS X Programming by Wrox, and on page 175 in the "The C Language" chapter, it says:
"break" is not only useful for "switch" and "while" statements; it can actually be used anytime you want to escape a block of code enclosed in braces. Execution is immediately transferred to the closing brace, and continues from there."
Anyways, I guess it is possible that in some older standard of C the "break" statement was allowed in these cases, since I can't imagine the book being out and out wrong, but you're right, it certainly seems to be -- interesting...

Bold OS 5.0.0.596 - Caller ID display does not work in lock mode

Incoming caller identification is not available, even if the contact is present in my LN address book.
This only happens when the phone is locked - which is most of the time with a BlackBerry (on corporate BES).
When the BB is unlocked caller ID works fine.
In the previous OS V4 there was an option in : Options/Security Option/General Settings : to switch "Include Contacts" On/Off.
With the new OS V5.0.0.592 this path doesn't exist

New macbook pro running mountain lion does not work in clamshell mode when attached to a thunderbird display.

I have a new macbook pro retina running mountain lion. I want to use it with a thunderbolt display. When I close the lid on the macbook pro, everything goes dark.

Plug in the power to the laptop. Then it works.

Updated Firefox, now it crashes when opening certain web pages. Does not work in safe mode either.

I was using Nuance PDF Professional, but have changed it to updated Adobe to try and correct the problem - no luck. Update Flash - still no luck. Tried a couple other fixes from support - still no luck. I can not even use the support site because it crashes when I select a problem to investigate. Using IE and all is fine.

ITunes organizing music does not work and deletes my files

When I have checked box nex to where it said something like : keed folder organized, scince i have so much music, it decided to move my music into compilations folder it had created by itself. After wards i was moving files from compilations folder to artist music belonged to. Little while later it decided to move all my music to the trash. And scince trash doesn't hold everything, it deleted 95% of my music. iTunes decides also to create and decide where to put music by itself, moves half to under artist name half somewhere else. Just to let apple people know, next time I'll get an mp3 player, but rather go with Zune or something, so I wouldn't have to use iTunes
