Q_1 - Q_2 DataLink. Q_2 columns are not apperaing in Generate to file - XML

Dear experts i have developed a report in 6i against Oracle Applications 11i, Purchasing Module ...... I have two Queries in DataModel Q_1<->Q_2 with DataLink. The only problem is Q_2 columns are not appearing in Generate to file -> XML.
I developed similar style report against scott/tiger tables and Q_2 columns are appearing in XML. their are no wrong settings like "Exclude from XML output"
Generate to file -> delimited, html, pdf etc are working OK for both APPS and Scott RDFs.
Does this have something to do with what is mentioned here (though for 10g, point 17.1.4) ...

no, the mentioned delimited text restrictions do not apply to XML-output...
Hm, try to take your report and use the wizard to generate a paper layout to see if the data is really "appearing" due to your data model.
Maybe there is some problem in the data link... e.g. number to character conversion in the datatypes that causes the problem...

Formula Columns are not working in Reports 10g

Hi,
We converted the reports developed in Reports 6i to Reports 10g. When we run the report in Reports 10g Builder everything works fine. But when we deploy the same report in Oracle Application Server and invoking the report the formula columns are not working ie., the fields/ placeholder columns which are based on the formula column are not displaying any values in the report.
Please, someone help us in this regard.

Columns are not displaying in a Dimension in the presentation layer

Hi All,
I have a Dimension in one of the subject area which has 3 columns. It was working fine but yesterday, we have an issue about this. These columns are not displaying anymore in the dimension.
I have checked in the Repository and from the Presentation services for the permissions and they look fine. Is there anything else am missing. If so, where I need to check.
Kindly help me on this.

Hi,
Check three things.
1. Try to login Admin user and check whether those columns are present or not.
2. Try to login different browser.
3. Cross check privileges for login user (what role has assigned ).
Note: Clear the browser cache and all Bi server cache and check.

Certain pop up windows are not apperaing on my screen. Save as PDF and Doc preferences never appear, and lock me out until I press return. So they are active, I just can't see them. Any ideas?

They are obviously off the screen somewhere. Did you have a dual monitor set up at one time? You can try increasing the resolution of your screen to see if you can get a part to show or maybe just resrt the preferences (Cmd(Ctrl)+Opt(Alt)+Shift as you restart AI) to reset the defaults.

Create Materialized View ORA-01723: zero-length columns are not allowed

I am trying to create a materialized view which derives a column from a function and I get: ORA-01723: zero-length columns are not allowed.
I am using 10gR2 with the following definition (simple version):
CREATE MATERIALIZED VIEW AS
SELECT
function_name(column_name) COLUMN_ALIAS
FROM table_name;
I have even tried to cast it like below:
CREATE MATERIALIZED VIEW AS
SELECT
CAST(function_name(column_name) AS VARCHAR2(200)) COLUMN_ALIAS
FROM table_name;
My function does have an exception to return a value even if no values are found.
I have looked all over for the solution. Does anyone have a way around this issue? I really need my function to derive the column as it has business rules which I cannot join into my materialized view definition. My only hope around this is to insert the values into a table and then create a materialized view from that table, I don't want to do that if someone has a solution around this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried creating a table with the correct structure and then creating the materialized view based on the prebuilt table as described here...

Auto Increment Columns Are Not Recognized

Hi
I am using postgre 8 and there are some auto incremented columns
in some tables. The problem is when I create the DataProvider from a table or a view those columns are not recognized by the IDE. I realized this while running the generated SQL. Is this a known issue ? Finally is there a work around this.

Hi Mehmet,
Creator requires a JDBC 3 compliant driver and PostgreSQL database driver is not fully compliant. Please take a look at the below thread which discusses about the issue:

As John mentioned, make sure that you aren't supressing the data. If there is no data in essbase and you are supressing missing data then there will be no rows. You can unselect "supress missing data" by going to admin>manage data forms. Select the data form in question and click edit, then navigate to the row/column tab and under row properties, ensure that the "supress missing data" check box is unselected.
You will want this unselected if users are going to input data in this form.

Graphs: columns are not reaching the correct axis data.

I am so frustrated with Illustrator's graphs and charts!
I've watched the Lynda.com videos and created several graphs. But in particular is not working correctly. I've entered the data correctly but the column are not reaching correct Value Axis. For example: one value is 11%, instead of the column reaching just above the 10% tick mark it is below it. This is happening for all the data in the chart.
I have created a column design with the %00 code to display the values above the columns and it seems to be including the height of the text in the column height.
Any suggestions to fix this?

ODI to delete those members which are not present in the source file

Using ODI we can delete members by using delete option in the Operation column
Fine. I would like to delete members from planning which are not there in the source file.
For e.g if my source file has members A1,A2,A3,and A4 and Planning outline has A1,A2,A3,A4,A5 and A6. I would like to delete only A5 and A6.

Its only a one time process. The issue is, we have to concatenate two segments of the COA into one dimension in Planning. But if we concatenate it creates a cartesian product which is not the requirement. Only a particula value of segment 1 are to be joined with segment 2.
E.g Company 1 is to be joined with Cost center 1.
Company 2 with Cost center 2
Company 1 should not get joined with Cost Center 2 and Company 2 with Cost Center1.
So when we use ERPI and load the first outline it creates all the possibilities of the concatenation. So we would like to delete the unrequired members. If we have the values of the required members in a file, I would like to delete the unrequired members in the planning hierarchy.
So would like to use the NOT IN function

I'm not sure whether you have tried the "usual" things:
When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Command+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
* "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
* Firefox menu > Preferences > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, try either:
* right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
* classic Tools menu > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

Calculated column - non-rolling rowsum where columns are not null

I have a calculated "Year total" column that sums 12 month columns. In our business $0.00 is not the same as null, so i have some columns without numeric data. My calculated column is only working when there is numeric data in all 12 months and i need it to work for rows where some columns are null.
Is there an easy way around this?

Hi pattyc2738. Scanning items to 'editable text' (also called OCR) can be difficult. Depending on what software you are using, most programs to get the image from the scanning glass only recognize the words, and not the formatting. Columns would be a special formatting feature that most entry level OCR software will not work well with.
