QTP Integration - eCATT FUNction call

Hello folks,
I am pretty fit in eCATT, but I am fairly new to QTP. I setup an integration in a demo environment and QTP only let's me "open" eCATT Scripts that were recorded with QTP. If I am recording eCATT with QTP i am limited to UI Recording via SAPGui Scripting.
Is there a way to call other eCATT's from QTP, to use more powerful eCATT options, like BAPI & FUNction calls? Or to directly call BAPIs / Function modules from within QTP?

QTP will open only those scripts which it has created.
it will not open an ecatt script which ecatt has created.
also we generally use qtp scripts to record and automate and then call the qtp scripts in ecatt.this way helps us use the features of both qtp and ecatt.

ECATT and QTP integration.

Can any one tell me what is SAP BASIS 620 Support Package level requirement for eCATT & Mercury QTP integration.
Currently we are running eCATT on R/3 4.7 with SAP BASIS Support Package SAPKB62003.
But when we are trying to integrate QTP 6.5 with eCATT it gives following error
(we have done all the required configurations) :
From QTP to eCATT :
"The eCATT server you specified does not have the required support. Select another eCATT server or install a later version of eCATT on your server."
From eCATT to QTP :
"Error During Method Call in OLE API."
Also suggest if we are making some other mistake.

The following are the minimum requirement with package leves.
Release 6.20 Support Package SAPKB62003
Release 6.10 Support Package SAPKB61017
Release 4.6D Support Package SAPKB46D21
Release 4.6C Support Package SAPKB46C32

ECATT QTP Integration Error - "No Vendor specified".

Hi
Currently we faced one problem that when we try to call QTP tool in one eCATT script GUI by Click "Script" button at the top of the UI.
Error Msg is shown as "No Vendor is specified" at the bottom of the status bar.
For the eCATT QTP Integration pre-condition Check, we already added the QTP as the third party tool in Table " ECCUST_ET".
and also For the corresponding eCATT script, We also selected the QTP as the third party tool from the drop down list when try to create the eCATT script at the first time.
So could anyone here help about how to resolve the u201CNo Vendor is specifiedu201D error?
Total new for me about the eCATT.

Refer SAP Note 794343 - Request Vendor Declaration: no data for plant specification
Symptom - If you request a vendor declaration and do not specify a plant as selection option, no list is output. The system issues error message EI452 "No data was selected".
Reason and Prerequisites - This is caused by a program error.

Refer SAP Note 197043 - Mandatory entry vendor on goods movement overview
Symptom - When components are confirmed with special stock indicators K, L, M, O or P, the vendor has to be specified.Since the system automatically finds the vendor during the goods movement, however, a specification is not necessary in the confirmation. Nevertheless, you must make an entry on the goods movement overview as soon as you modify the material.
Cause and prerequisites -The entry is only forced for a blank field.The field is only blank if the vendor was not already specified in the order (detail material).

Refer SAP Note 169621 - Program termination during goods movement

ECATT and QTP integration isuue

Hi,
I am trying to execute QTP Scripts through eCATT. In this regard i have done the following settings
Check whether or not you have the roles - SAP_ECAT, SAP_ECET and SAP_ECST in your login id.
Check the patch levels, support packages of the system
Check the external tool parameters in the ECCUST_ET table
Note : The mode of execution for external tool should be 'A' - With surface of external tool in the start options "
when i tried to eaxeute from eCatt i got the error called "Failure Starting Quick test professional"
Please any one help me on this............

Kindly go through this article /people/community.user/blog/2007/01/15/integrating-ecatt-mercury-qtp-part-2 , you will be able to sovle few of your issues .
As i have done project on QTP/eCATT intergration mode .
The major issues will be .
1) Performance wise it will be slow , as you will be invoking QTP script from eCATT.
2) You will face problem with format compatibility .

Hi GS,
1)There are cases where eCATT will support certain applications like web-based application and hence we use QTP which support this application.
To put it short,eCATT works excellent with SAP application and if you need to interface applications outside SAP,you can use QTP.
2)You have to enable setting for the third-party tool.Reach out to your basis team member.
Once setting is made,you should be able to see the QTP tool and you can use the same for recording.

ECATT to QTP AND QTP to eCATT connectivity

We are trying to open QTP scripts from eCATT & vice-versa.
As per documentation provided by SAP & Mercury all the steps have ben followed but it gives following errors:
1. If QTP script is to be opened from eCATT while creating script using External tool it gives ERROR :"Error During Method Call in OLE API"
2. If eCATT connectivity is tried out from QTP, it showd ERROR : "The eCATT server you specified does not have required support. Select another eCATT server or install
later version of eCATT on your server"
We have checked out support package, required roles and access rights for the same.
Can somebody tell the solution for this problem?

Hi! Just a couple of things:
*What version of QTP and Ecatt (WAS - Web App Server) are you using?
*Is the exteral tool parameters correct(in SAP)?
table ECCUST_ET or functional module SET_EXTERNAL_TOOL
*what mode are you working in?

Function call in SAP GUI with errors

Dear All,
             When i am calling FM of Comports using OLE Integration i got " Function call in SAP GUI with errors" error
now my front end version is 6.40. how to solved this problem.
In my Function Module i am creating object like this
CREATE OBJECT O_OBJ 'MSCOMMLib.MSComm.1'.
    IF SY-SUBRC <> 0.
      RAISE NO_CREATE_OBJECT.
    ENDIF.
it raised the sy-subrc = 2 this error is "Function call in SAP GUI with errors"

We are facing the same issue.
Interestingly
From program's code only we are facing this issue.
If we display the program and Execute (Direct processing), it is working fine.

More function calls in stored procedure

Hi,
I would like to know if there are more function calls in a PL/SQL stored procedure, would it affect the performance of this procedure?
Or will it be more efficient to have the body of those functions inside the procedure itself.
Of course a method call is always costlier than the monolithic procedure but my question is how much would be difference in performance.

Yes, avoid using UDF , means especially a scalar udf... See how you can re-write a scalar udf as table valued udf.

How can we make function calls to sap in odi ?

how can we make function calls to sap in odi ?
to populate a column i need to make a function call which returns the value.

There are two ODI SAP adapters available that allows extraction from SAP ERP and SAP BW. For SAP ERP we allow extraction from ERP tables, but not from RFCs/BAPIs.

Integrated ECATT-

Dear Experts,
I have created ECATT for Sale order and Delivery ( Integrated ECATT) . Sale Order creating is going Thro. But I have faced some problem when the Delivery Script Is calling. My Posting Date and Picking Qty are not passed to that Particular Screen .
Is anbody faced the Same Problem, Let me know the Solution.

I assume you have sales order and delivery recorded in TCD or SAPGUI in separate scripts.
If so please continue with my comments..
1.Please try executing delivery separtely by passing valid values,
in case if parametes are not passed in screen.
then this is a problem in your recording,please record it again or debug.
2.Incase delivery script is working fine, please refresh once interface in integrated script and try passing values again.
In case this does not help,please write little more in detail about your problem

    Unit testing :
                A complete cycle of each module will be tested
                ie for PP Right from requirements to planned orders /production orders
                confirmation .
    Integration testing:
                Here cross module testing will be carried out.
                 ie PP and MM integration
                    After confirming production order a GR is made /billing is carried out
                    and delivered.
      Functional testing:
                This testing is carried out to see whether the system can with stand l the loads during processing by users.
                Stress test and volume test.

How to call a C function calling a Java Method from another C function ?

Hi everyone,
I'm just starting to learn JNI and my problem is that I don't know if it is possible to call a C function calling a Java Method (or doing anything else with JNI) from another C function.
In fact, after receiving datas in a socket made by a C function, I would like to create a class instance (and I don't know how to do it too ; ) ) and init this instance with the strings I received in the socket.
Is all that possible ?

Hard to understand the question, but by most interpretations the answer is going to be yes.
You do of course understand that JNI is the "API" that sits between Java and C and that every call between the two must go through that. You can't call it directly.

Is it possible to get the caller object in a function call hierarchy ?

I have a problem in hand for adding a new functionality to an existing code with MINIMAL code change. For this I need to get some extra information in a function call from its caller. And for this I do not want to change the signature of the method, as it requires a lot of code change. So I need to have a programming facility by which I can get the object from which the function was invoked. Some thing like "{code}this.CALLEROBJECT{code}".
Please let me know whether we can achieve this in JAVA. I wonder if such a facility exists in any programming language...
