Quality in subcontractor

Hi Friends,
My client is not implementing QM module. But we have to give accept and reject options for recieving semifinished from sub contractor. Then we had given this as batch characteristics as rejected and accepted. Now if the material is received from sub contractor, and if some of it is rejected, then it has to trigger debit memo automatically for the value of the material. Please convey, how to make it? full points will be awarded...

Hi,
By Entering Characteristics as "Rejected", you can not restrict this. Along with this, select Stock Type as "Blocked" in Where Tab during GR in MIGO.
Else go to MSC2N and here in "Basic Data" tab Page, select the radio button of "Restricted" then batch stock will get restricted.

Inspection UD for subcontractor quality stock

Dear All SAP Guru's
I have created one PO , in that stating to delivery at subcontractor and selecte the appropriate checkbox in the PO .After MIGO stock posted to subcontractor with movment type 101 O in quality .Our QM consultant release the inspection lot,he found that there is no stock to post to unresticted.And stock remains in the quality only after inspection lot cleared with UD.
Please suggest the solution.

For subcontracting -- stock types available are Unrestricted and Blocked ( no QI stock is there ).

can any expert please Explain what is use of subcontractor inspection stock ,how the movement takes place between Stock provided to vendor unrestricted use & Stock provided to vendor Quality inspection if Iwanted to move between this two location how can i activate the QM ?

I think you can not move the inspection stock in your plant to inspection stock provided to vendor.

Poor quality/customer service from Digital Services LLC (Microsoft's provider of Wallet Cards and etc.)

I recently chatted with MCP support to inform them of poor shoddy service by their provider of Wallet Cards. Has anyone else had any problems with quality/service with the below provider? If so who can I contact to report the problems I had with
them?
Below is a copy of the statement I provided to MCP support:
I ordered a wallet card quite awhile back. Upon delivery I discovered that it was very poor quality and some of the lettering "Solutions Associate" was very faint.
I contacted arvato digital services LLC to report it. They requested that I send them a scanned copy of the wallet card.
They then agreed to replace it. I was told that it would ship 12/17/2013 and after a month or so of not receiving it I contacted them again and Daniel apologized and said it had gotten lost in production.
I was then promised a ship date in January. I had to contact them again and I finally received it today 2/7/2014.
The papers that came with it said my credit card would be charged.
To summarize: I was shipped a poor quality card which took them over 2 months to replace,
no improvement on the card still looks like the first one they sent me and finally they said my card would be charged .... AGAIN?
I want Microsoft to know what very poor service arvato digital services LLC is providing to their Members and how I can get a quality card replacement without any additional charge.
I offered to send the second poor quality card received and also the back and forth emails requesting that they resolve the problem.
By the email time stamps they will see the very long length of time it has taken to resolve this issue and the fact that it is still not resolved.

Same here. I just received them today (21/02/2014). Very very disappointed.
I ordered the Solutions Expert & Specialist Card. Both are terrible beyond all recognition.
Both photos in the cards are blurry, unlike the ones I previewed in the design page. Just like you said, the lettering ('Solutions Expert' & 'Specialist') on BOTH cards are very faint.
I even ordered the 'Specialist' card in German just for curiousity's sake.
On the bottom at the back of the card where you find the "Download the Tag reader app at: http://gettag.mobi" sentence, I found this incomplete (and perhaps just to show their level of incompetence) sentence:

First, you discontinued the MCM/MCSM program and the whole works last year. I know this is a very different thing and has a very big difference (and revenue). Now you showed the (lack of) care even for the tiniest bit of a Microsoft Wallet Card.
I see no use of contacting Arvato, just another time-wasting effort, third party subcontractor and all that.
Guys, forewarned is forearmed.

Quality Plan issue

I have subcontracting material which was processing from one subcontractor,I have created quality plan for the material.
For such subcontractor, material posting to QA after GRN, Also There is no issue of UD,
But When I receive same material from another subcontractor, Material posted to QA, But when i go to RESULT tab , system give message as NO CHARACTERISTICS ARE CREATED. I have already created quality plan & inspection characteristics.
Ihave also attached Quality info records for the subcontractor,

Hi,
If you have same material code for all the vendor and you have activated QM view the system will post the stock to quality.And there should not be any error like this.Still check the QM activation and quality plan assignment date as well as GRN date for the reffered P.O in terms of posting date.
If you have different material for all vendor then assign all the materials seperately to the inspaction plan.

Unable to create a new MRP area type 3 for subcontractor?

In golden client for defining the MRP area type 3, its not accepting the vendor number in the subcontractor field ( since there wont be any master data) saying doest not exist in LFA1 table.
But there are certain similar data already available in the golden client, I dont know how those have been created long back for company.
we are using ECC 6.0,
Can i move the TR without subcontractor number to Quality and Production clients and maintain the subcontractor in Material master.
Please suggest me how to do that experts

We are having S&OP 3.0 SP1 patch 1 on premise with HANA version 1.00.69.385057. We have old golden demo files imported.
Could you please let us know...
1) is it right combination..?
2) Is it necessary to upgrade to patch 2.
3) in case, we upgrade to patch 2, do we need to import golden demo file again for patch 2
4) Do we have any release note for patch 2.

Quality Inspection with Parts Provided to Vendor - Mvt 541

Hai All,
The scenario, Material stock is available in Quality Inspection stock. For final operation this has to be sent outside to a Subcontractor.
With Mvt type 541 in MB1B, unable to create the transfer document with Inspection stock for that material. Mvt 541 doesn't recognize the Quality Inspection stock of Material.
I created new movement type by copying mvt 541 in OMJJ. But unable to enter "Inspection Lot Origin" value (OMJJ - New movement type --> Update control / WM movement types --> select line & goto Details) which will trigger Insp. lot creation during material movement.

Can you explain the business need to do something like that? Because the logic is once the stock is in QC it has to be cleared for you or your sub-con vendor to use it. i am sure you would not want to use sub-standard parts either inhouse or by your sub-con for your products.
So clear the inspection lot first & then once in unrestricted then issue the material to sub-con.

How to handle subcontractor scrap

Hi All,
We have a requirement in subcontractor scrap handling , the process is like input materials are sent to subcontractor for processing , in some situation the input materials sent will have hidden defect/damage and at the time of subcontractor processing only the defect will be known and the whole assembly gets fully scrapped , so the vendor returns back the same.
My question is how to take back the scrap? by doing migo 101 and 543 and then scrapping in quality? or do 542 and take back the assembly and then scrap it in 551? if we do migo 101 and 543 , then the PO will be considered as closed and further if we need to send fresh input materials to vendor against the same PO reference this will be a trouble , since we have activated a user exit for not allowing excess qty against the PO line item for 541 movement type , this is same case if we do 542 and PO will get open once again and user exit will now allow the input materials to be sent in 541. The other option is doing 553 (scrap at vendor end) which will not suit our business need. Also if we do scrapping only the Assembly gets scrapped and not the components ? correct . Anyone who had this same requirement pls provide your valuable inputs/suggestions.

1. Do 542 for the problematic components and send the fresh batch of material and it will solve,, it is not confused process, it is straight away you can get the clear vision,,
2. Scrpping at vendor- will may impact in Vendor Performance( if the Vendor evaluation is active) and the cost may involve in their cost,, (Check with your FICo team for more details on this)
If the user exist is not active, you can do the following also,,
Maintain in the PO-Sub con BOM, for the rejected qty as by product and receive the goods only for the finished qty, consumbtion will happen only for the recd qty and the rejected qty as By product, you can get the material back which is really scrapped,,

I cannot explain in detail here but bottom line is
Web is not a live database, its parent is client database were planners are working.
Web takes the summarize data from Client.
For example CPI, SPI, Gantt chart, Resource usage.........
It all comes to quality of planning done at client.
Web is a fancy tool that has the power to
Compare projects and portfolios + Plan resources at project level
Have Calculated UDF that shows traffic lights as required by Executives.
However, Project Planning using WEB is slow with less options and flexibility for a planner when compared to Client.
Hope it gives a bit of understanding from where I am coming from.

Master data is not getting displayed in the Report in Quality

HI Experts,
I have ZESP_Num as master for my transaction data.
I have loaded the data in the Development and designed and checked my report. It is working fine.
But after moving it to Quality. My report is not getting the master data.
When I try to do right click manage ZESP_Num.
I'm getting message like this.
The data from the InfoProvider ZESP_NUM involved could not be checked
Message no. DBMAN242
Diagnosis
A participating InfoProvider is virtual and aggreement between results and selections cannot be guaranteed.

Can I return my new laptop to lenovo because of its quality problem?

IBM is one of the best brand as I know, especially showing us not only high quality of products but the service.
But now one thing happened to me, if I don't have this case I can't believe. I found there is something with the laptop(T61 Model 7658CTO) the same day when I got the new laptop on June 3rd, 2008. Then I call 800, a lot of 800 calls,at last I were told that I should contact send it back first if I were to get another new one. Three days later I got the box sent by Lenovo, and I return it back in terms of what the paper shown.
Unfortunately the problems of the laptop still exist when I turn on my laptop after it repaired. What's wrong with my laptop, this is new one, I think IBM should provide high quality products.
I don't know how to describe the weird sound , it sounds like two or more micphone opened clost to each other. It is very harsh.
I want to get one new laptop from Lenovo because of the quality of product and customer service or can I return the laptop?
I would appreciate any advice you can give me.

I did it last week because I bought an iPhone 4 as a wedding gift but then I changed my mind and wanted an iPad, so the bride could use it together with the groom (while the phone is personal).

Questions on default print quality and print order

I recently upgraded to CS 5.5, a clean install on a new Mac running 10.7. I've found two issues regarding printing from both Acrobat and InDesign:
In both programs, if I go directly to print (command-P, then hit OK without changing settings), documents will print at my printer's default setting, which is for a high-quality photo on glossy paper. (I haven't figured out yet how to change that default.) I want it to print to my faster standard quality setting, which is generally also the "last-used" setting. I can of course go into printer settings to fix -- each time I do that, my standard setting is already set in that window -- but I have to make that move every time I print.
Previous versions of both programs (CS3) automatically went into the last-used or standard setting. How can I get that back?
Also, print order hasn't been working as it did in CS3. Documents print first-page-first in CS 5.5, unless I check "Reverse order"; in CS3, docs printed last-page-first automatically, without checking any additional box, making documents easier to collate. Also, on many documents, "Odd pages only" prints the even ones, and vice-versa.
How can I get the automatic reverse order and correct odd/even back in Indesign 5.5 and Acrobat X Pro?

Well, if you are able to log on the BPS application (thus, a Web Interface if I'm not mistaken) then it means that some user is logged on the ABAP-side. It is either a "personal" user or a technical (common) user, that is used for anonymous access.
You will certainly be able to track down this user with the SM04 transaction.
You should be able to add a button to the BPS page. One idea would be to call an URL with an ICF service behind that will be able to process the parameters contained in this URL.
It will be this very ICF service that will call the BAPI.

How many times can you "Export - Quicktime movie" the same ProRes 422 file until it starts to lose quality?

Lets say you are done with your project & you want an uncompressed copy of it as your master. If you keep importing it back into Final Cut Pro, & keep exporting (Quicktime movie), will it ever start to lose quality?

I've never seen a number given, but would think it is very high.

"while remaining visually lossless through many generations of decoding and reencoding."
I don't think I've ever seen degradation caused by recompression or multiple compassion, but as a workflow if you output a master file, then re-import it to add graphics and export that, you would only be 1 generation down from the master file. If you wanted to make multiple versions, you can always go back to, and re-import, the master file and make the changes, then export, so all you exports stay only 1 generation down from the master file.

Let us solve this Verizon Service Quality debate for good

    I don't frequent this forum too often, I probably glance at it once a week or so, but it doesn't take a regular visitor to take notice that this forum is always peppered with 3G complaints, some more or less valid than others. However, after reading through a couple different threads tonight I'm afraid I'm going to have to hop on the bandwagon and question my 3G speeds.
     First off, I saw somebody say that 90-100 dBM isn't very good. I am always stuck at around 98 dBm in my home though, and when I'm out and about I find it never gets below the high 80s. Is this normal? Also in my Settings>About Phone>Status menu, it constantly says I am on an "Network Unknown." This occurs and remains constant despite any combination of settings, including  roaming being on or off, and whether or not I am on 3G, 1X, or WiFi.
     Speaking of WiFi...when I am at home I use my home router as opposed to 3G for obvious reasons, which is a NETGEAR N router, yet I still only average about 2.5 mbps when connected to it or any wifi elsewhere. Yes, I have tried turning my routers security off, and yes, I do have it in b/g mode. I have also done the 228 number thing, the disabling of voice privacy suggestion, turning roaming on/off, several factory resets, etc.
    Basically I'm just curious to know if anybody else is having similar issues, and what your average speeds are. Infact, I'm going to make a little form below this paragraph for anyone who is interested, and rename the title of this post. Perhaps we can congregate enough responses to come up with an average and then determine whether we are receiving acceptable service or not:

first...how do i check my signal and speed? do i NEED an app or is there somewhere on the phone to do this? (i've seen others talk about 85-95 dBM, but never knew how to check). let me know and i'll post the results.
also, one other thing you can try....and i MUST stress that i know little about this, except that it seemed to have improved my quality (voice/sound....my phone sounded "muffled" on both ends) on both ends, but i'm not sure if it actually increased my signal strength?

change home page," "home orig," and "roam orig" from evrc to evrc-b
hit menu and "commit modifications."
from what i gather, evrc-b is better technology, but is not supported everywhere. so if you try this and your signal is worse (or gone) then you'll need to follow the steps to switch it back. you will also want to save these instructions to your phone in case you find yourself somewhere that appears to be getting poor or no signal, so you can switch it back.
