Quartz schedular problem accessing thru RMI client

Hi,
I am trying to access Quartz scheduler through RMI client/server.
Quartz scheduler RMI is starting up properly.
When I run the RMI client I am receiving the following error.

What I did today is that we connected the client PC directly with the server through a switch. So keep in mind please, that for the following informations there is no firewall involved whatsoever.
I've just checked the communication log on the server with the microsoft network monitor. the communication proceedes in the following manner:
1) the client calls the server from a random source port(src) onto the specified destination port(dst) 1088.
2) the server application replies from (src)1088 to (dst)1052.
3) now comes two client calls again from (src)1052 to (dst)1088.
4) and then the server sends something two times from 1088 to 1052
and that's it! end of communication. of course then it comes the above mentioned error.
What the most amazes me is that although I explicitly specify for the client as well, that the rmi registry should be available on the remote port 1088, still it uses a random port (in this case 1052). Could this be alright? After all, what port the client uses to reach for the remote registry could be random I guess...
What I see on the client side with the trace prints is that during the client initialization first a connection will be made on a local machine with port # -1 and just after that calls the remote server. But in that case I don't get it why it prints the 1088 if under the hood is a 1052 or other random port...
Meanwhile, on the server side I get a trace message from the custom security manager that an accept on the random port (1052) has been successful. but after that no more printouts.
Oh, and one more thing... did I mentioned that I implemented a pure socket client/server thingy and it works just fine? with or without firewall.

  • Problems Accessing EJB from Client

    Hello All,
    I have deployed my first EJB in my JBoss App server and thats fine. However when I try and run the simple client that I have written to access this I get the following error:
    javax.naming.NoInitialContextException: Need to specify class name in environment or system property, or as an applet parameter, or in an application resource file: java.naming.factory.initial
    I have tried Debugging the app and cant understand where/why this error is occurring? Any ideas and suggestions would be appreciated...The code I am using in the client is below:
    Context c = new InitialContext();
          Object o = c.lookup("HelloWorldEJB");
          HelloWorldHome hw = (HelloWorldHome)PortableRemoteObject.narrow (o, HelloWorldHome.class);
          HelloWorld hello = hw.create();
          System.out.println ("Result is: " + hello.hello());
          hello.remove();

    Hi!
    I do not know if you have got the solution for your problem....
    I am also struggling around with similar issue
    Here is how i tried
    Properties prop = System.getProperties();
    prop.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY, "org.jnp.interfaces.NamingContextFactory");
    prop.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL, "localhost");
    prop.put(Context.URL_PKG_PREFIXES, "org.jboss.naming:org.jnp.interfaces" );
    Context ctx = new InitialContext(prop);
    System.out.println("looking up ejb");
    Object obj = ctx.lookup("ejb/test");
    DO NOT forget to put jbossall-client.jar and jnpserver.jar in your classpath .
    This way at least you get the solution of the problem you are facing now.....
    Good Luck

  • Access Site to Site Networks behind Cisco ASA thru VPN Client

    I have configured remote access thru asa for vpn clients to our main network. I can ping the required networks from vpn client. Internally I can ping remote network thru our sonicwall site to site vpn. I however cannot ping the remote network from the vpn client. I've added the network in the configuration on the ASA that I am trying to connect to. Any ideas what I can do so I can connect to Site B thru my vpn client connecting to Site A?
    Thanks,

    Hello, matt0000111111.
    Did you add a VPN clients network to the sit-to-site VPN settings and to the NAT list (if nat exist at the interfaces at site-to-site vpn)?

  • Problem with Oracle 9i client to access multiple oracle databases

    I am having problem setting up oracle client 9i to access multiple oracle db. When I finish installing Oracle 8.x client, I simply replace the tnsnames.ora that the installation created with the ones that I have. I can access three different databases. I only need to add three diffrent entries in the tnsnames.ora file. I cannot be able to do this with Oracle 9i client. I follow the instruction from the CD installation to use local naming method. It appears that Oracle client try to create multiple entries on my tnsnames.ora file but I can only be able to access one db.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks! HD

    the old tnsnames.ora is working with Oracle 8 client. The new tnsnames.ora (if I use the Oracle Net config) have two entries, one is dev and the other is prod.
    Thanks!

  • Problem of running rmi applet and client for Javacard 3.0.2 Connected

    Need help for running rmi application for Java Card 3.0.2 connected version. I am trying to move a working rmi applet & client from 3.0.2 Classic version to Connected version. Then I found that they are so different and I have no idea how to run my application :(
    Here are what I have done:
    - I have modified the Classic HelloWorld applet to an rmi applet. It is OK when I build and run the application in netbeans. The Applet can be selected successfully.
    My problems are:
    - How to connect a rmi client to the rmi applet? Here are what I have done:
    + Run rmi applet in netbeans
    + Run 'rmic' command to generate stub
    + Run rmiregistry outside of netbeans
    + Build and run rmi client application outside of netbeans by typing "ant all"
    However, the rmi client was not able to connect to the applet:
    [java] java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect
    Would this be a problem of netbeans? Could someone tell me how to run rmi applet/client within or outside netbeans. Thanks a lot!

    Well finally I figured out that CREF-emulators (from JCDK 2.2.1, 2.2.2, 3.0.1 classic) do not support cryptographic extensions at all.
    BUT JCWDE(from JCDK 2.2.1, 2.2.2) - support, but this kind of simulator quite hard to use, because it does not have state between launches.
    About CJCRE(from JCDK 3.0.1 connected) - still don't know, seems not support cryptographic extensions.

  • Detect RMI client problem. Gotta be anothe way...

    For a while, I've been searching how to detect RMI client unexpected disconnection but there is no real answer for that. There is NO other way to let server know that client is disconnected beside using call back or using periodically checking client?? Something like unreferenced() to tell specific client is not holding the reference or something like that..

    In our system, almost every Remote interface has a void ping() method, and we periodically call this, and if there is an Exception thrown we do whatever we need to, to clean up.
    Often we create a local (static) proxy class to the Remote object that knows how to do the clean up, and has same methods but doesn't throw exceptions. it does NOT implement the Remote interface so there is no need to catch exceptions at every point it is called. This proxy can control the periodic pinging.
    I guess you could extend remote and add a ping method to it (call this PingableRemote), then extend this new interface instead of Remote directly.
    Also create a class that takes a PingableRemote and some callback object in it's constructor, which could then take care of the pinging and "remoteLost" notification in a form that can be re-used.

  • 10.1.3.1 and standalone RMI client

    I'm migrating our J2EE applications from 10.1.2.0.1 to 10.1.3.1.0. I also have a custom JAAS login module that is used by our applications. I have the login module working successfully and web applications that can call EJBs.
    But I am unable to get a simple RMI client to call the EJBs. I can see from the server logs that the JAAS module executes successfully, but then I get a ClassNotFoundException (seems to be from the server) when the client tries to access the JNDI tree (see stack below on the client; I can't find any log relating to this event on the server).
    I had real problems with RMI access in 10.1.2, seems that Oracle AS isn't really thought through with respect to simple RMI client access. In the system-jazn-data.xml file I have granted my custom principals the RMI login permission. I tried to raise a TAR but it's been rejected because 10.1.3.1.0 is a "preview" version. (Don't you guys want to know about bugs before a release goes into production?)
    Any ideas?

    Hi Debu,
    I have found the problem and a workaround in my code.
    I obtained the initial context ctx with the following properties set:
    Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY (= oracle.j2ee.naming.ApplicationClientInitialContextFactory)
    Context.PROVIDER_URL (= opmn:ormi://myHost:myPort:myOC4J/myApp)
    Context.SECURITY_PRINCIPAL (= my username)
    Context.SECURITY_CREDENTIAL (= my password)
    then I did
    NamingEnumeration en = ctx.listBindings("ejb/myJndiName")
    which resulted in the exception.
    Changing this to
    Context ctx2 = (Context)ctx.lookup("ejb/myJndiName");
    NamingEnumeration en = ctx2.listBindings("");
    has resolved the problem. I'm not sure why this behaves differently, I suppose it may have something to do with the fact that ctx2 is not an InitialContext object. It is an adequate workaround for my application.
    Once I have an EJB reference, invoking methods over RMI works as expected.
    Thanks,
    Keith

    your client is behind the firewall but the server you're trying to access has an address 10.x.x.x which says that it too is behind a firewall and not on the Internet, or is the server in a DMZ. It sounds more like a networking issue than a java problem at this point. If the server is on some side of a firewall, you may need a some sort of "permit established" config setting added to the firewall. Just a thought.

    do like this " card use privatekey to sign message
    and send to reader , reader use card's publickey to
    verify that card sign this signature or not." or
    "card use reader's publickey to encrypt message and
    send to reader, then reader use privatekey to decrypt
    message (reader authencate itself) "On each platform you have classes that provide the same cryptographic operations but the interface of these classes is different (because of the limitations of the java card platform).
    because I can't do any of cipher , keybuilder in
    RMI-client side(reader)Use the java.security.KeyFactory instead.
    Cipher.getInstance(Cipher.ALG_RSA_PKCS1,false);
    it will throw nullPointerException

    Cipher.getInstance(Cipher.ALG_RSA_PKCS1,true);
    throw exception 0x3 -

  • Open Directory or LDAP Problem with 10.5 Client and 10.4 Server

    Yesterday, the client-server setup we've been using successfully FOR YEARS decided not to work on a v10.5.8 MacBook Pro client. Did not do anything to the v10.5 client recently (other than to boot it up). Not sure if any software was updated on the server recently (where do I check for this?). Curiously, a v10.4.11 client running on a Mac Pro (tower) continues to work fine/as though nothing's changed. It appears as though the only difference is v10.4 client (working) vs. v10.5 client (not working).
    Here is what IS working:
    1) Network Home Directories on dedicated drive partition of Mac running OS X Server v10.4.11. AFP, DNS, and Open Directory are all up and running (normally, I think) as shown in Server Admin application.
    2) Mac Pro (tower) client running v10.4.11 binds to and authenticates at v10.4.11 server. Any valid user can access their home directory on the server seamlessly when logging in at this v10.4.11 client Mac.
    3) That same v10.4.11 client Mac also contains a LOCAL admin user with its home directory on the local hard drive. That LOCAL admin account is used to update software on a per machine basis (and preclude users from adding unauthorized software, needing to use a specific machine, etc.).
    Here is what IS NOT working:
    4) On a MacBook Pro client running v10.5.8, the LOCAL admin account looses access to the partition containing its local home directory. The drive partition literally disappears. The only "solution" I've been able to find (and it's not truly a solution) is to turn off the Open Directory/LDAP binding (using the Directory Utility application). With binding turned off, the LOCAL admin user has no problem accessing their home directory on the local hard drive partition. Turn binding on again (using Directory Utility application), and the LOCAL admin user can no longer see its local home directory.
    Again, binding is necessary to allow regular users to use the v10.5 MacBook Pro with Network Home Directories (as in items 1-3 above). Binding should be turned on for this reason. However, with binding on, the LOCAL admin user cannot manage the computer because the local partition containing the admin home directory disappears/is inaccessible. Turn binding off, and the partition containing the admin home directory reappears.
    Perhaps there's something in the sever logs that will help. I don't really know how to read these, so if your help involves the logs, please refer to them explicitly (e.g., "in Server Admin, go to Open Directory->Logs->LDAP log" or similar).
    Any help greatly appreceated.

    Nope. Never used sso_util.
    I try to use Apple's GUI server management tools unless absolutely necessary/at the end of my rope (i.e., last step before re-install etc.). I figure there's just too many things going on under the hood: using the command line may fix one setting, but not re-configure the two or three others that Apple NEEDS in order to have the whole thing working in harmony. Unless you really know what's going on with all the configuration files, it's best to let the GUI manage the settings.
    In my particular circumstance, I've now got ALL Leopard clients, one Leopard v10.5 server, and one Tiger v10.4 server. Everything is working fine now, but it was not a simple matter getting the Tiger v10.4 server re-integrated into the otherwise ALL Leopard environment. OD/Kerberos is on the Leopard v10.5 server. Home directories are still on the Tiger v10.4 server.
    Two keys to getting THIS/MY set-up working:
    1) Tiger v10.4 server needs to have Open Directory set to "Connected to a Directory System" and has to be joined to the Kerberos realm that was set-up on the Leopard v10.5 server (use Server Admin to do all of this).
    2) Sharepoint on Tiger v10.4 server has to have SOME, but NOT ALL checkboxes for guest access enables/checked. See:
    http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=10903468#10903468
    Number 2 immediately above is contrary to what Apple manual for User Management reads, but this is what worked for me/my set up, after pulling my hair out following the manual's instructions to the letter and not getting the thing to work!

  • RMI Client on Linux issue.

    I am facing Java RMI problem on Suse Linux.
    RMI server running on solaris and RMI client running on Solaris ---> works fine
    RMI server running on solaris and RMI client running on Linux ---> gives error
    Pls note that RMI server running fine. When invoking remote method from RMI client on Suse Linux, I get following error.
    Java.rmi.UnmarshalException: error unmarshalling arguments; nested exception is:
    java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: RemoteVtskImpl_Stub
    Any help/pointers will be useful.

    Even we tried setting the CLASSPATH to point to those jar files. But still the problem persist.
    At run time is there any way to see what all the _stub files are downloaded in the JVM at the client machine (linux machine in our case) from the server machine (solaris machine in our case).

  • Rmi client throws Connection Refused exception

    My Rmi client throws a Connection Refused exception when i try to run it on remote machine (in this case i run it on my virtualbox macine).
    The virtualbox machine network is in NAT mode (host machine ip should be 10.0.2.2).
    When rmi client starts get registry instance and print in standar output:

  • Conn to Ms-Access thru Forms

    Hi everyone
    i m getting a problem while connecting to MS-Access thru ODBC in forms, using EXEC_SQL Pkg
    its giving me a message Frm-40734:internal error.
    the error is at line
    EXEC_SQL.OPEN_CONNECTION(/@odbc:conac)
    where "conac" is the ODBC connection name
    can nybody help in this case

    Hello,
    There is no OCX, ActiveX or COM component that will work in any version of Access now. All have been deprecated.
    If you can hook into .NET assemblies through Access then look on Microsoft's site for more info or if it's possible.
    Also Office 2010 is not supported in any version of CR at this time.
    Thank you
    Don

  • Problem connecting only iFolder client

    Hi everyone,
    I begn with iFolder 3.8 and I've a problem with connecting the client.
    For information, I've 3 separate iFolder servers, two of them work perfectly !
    So, on one, I can't connect the Windows Client, I've an error "iFolder can't connect, please check the informations" (translation from french).
    If I try to connect on the web access, it's OK, no problem with that.
    The Simias.log file says that the connexion is successful with the client but it's not...
    I try to reinstall the server several times with simias-server-setup, ifolder-admin-setup and ifolder-web-setup but no effects.
    If someone as already experienced this and solved this problem, thank you for your help.

    OK, so I've solved my problem after hours.
    I tried to reinstall completly the server and then, it works !
    To conclude, if your iFolder server doesn't work at the first time, don't try to debug, format and reinstall.
