Query Creation

Dear All ,
This is regarding Query Creation.
I want to create Query by Joinging Two tables.
I have created User Group, Created Infoset,
Now am creating Query by SQ01.
Going Step by step correctly.
I have Tick mark on Field group and selected .
Then By next screen i have marked for option for Parameter.
Then Clicked on "BasicList"  Button.
Now after clicking Basic list button i am not getting screen of Basic list Line Structure
i.e Scrren with detais like  with heading of type Field , Line ,Sequence, Sort Total etc. i am not getting.
Instead, After Pressing BasicList button i am getting screen like Query ...... layout Design.
So where /How cani get Scrren of Basic List Line struecture.
In which menu / option i have to check.
For Information we have SAP ECC 6. 0 with Application support Package no. 14.
PL help me for my probelm

I got solution of my probelm.
Removed Tick  Marked from Menu option Settings --> Setting -
> Here removed tick mark from Graphical Query Painter.

    ABAP query is mostly used by functional consultants.
    SAP Query
    Purpose
    The SAP Query application is used to create lists not already contained in the SAP standard system. It has been designed for users with little or no knowledge of the SAP programming language ABAP. SAP Query offers users a broad range of ways to define reporting programs and create different types of reports such as basic lists, statistics, and ranked lists.
    Features
    SAP Query's range of functions corresponds to the classical reporting functions available in the system. Requirements in this area such as list, statistic, or ranked list creation can be met using queries.
    All the data required by users for their lists can be selected from any SAP table created by the customer.
    To define a report, you first have to enter individual texts, such as titles, and select the fields and options which determine the report layout. Then you can edit list display in WYSIWYG mode whenever you want using drag and drop and the other toolbox functions available.
    ABAP Query, as far as I Believe, is the use of select statements in the ABAP Programming. This needs a knowledge of Open SQL commands like Select,UPdtae, Modify etc. This has to be done only by someone who has a little bit of ABAP experience.
    To sum up, SAP queries are readymade programs given by SAP, which the user can use making slight modification like the slection texts, the tables from which the data is to be retrieved and the format in which the data is to be displayed.ABAP queries become imperative when there is no such SAP query existing and also when there is a lot of customizing involved to use a SAP Query directly

    Hello,
    Our company is about to go live with B1 and E commerce. We are very much looking forward to getting the ball rolling: the old MOM system and Sitelink shopping cart is causing issues!
    Anyway, before i go too much further i would like to get hold of some basic Query creation documentation. So far i have been unable to find any.

    hi,
    in sq02 define the infoset. here u define the tables and the join relation between them. generate the infoset. in sq03 create user grps (if not already existing) and then assign the infosets to them. assign user ids to the the user grps.   in sq01 create the query in the infoset and define the list and selection fields. make sure u check the query area in which the infodset and the query is created (global or client sprcific).

    I want to create a local field which will calculate the number of days between 2 dates (for example, document date - posting date).
    What I did:
    1) Created the user group in SQ03
    2) Created the infoset in SQ02
    3) I'm stucked at the creation of the Query in SQ01. I'm at the «Create Query: Select field screen». I clicked on Edit --> Local Field --> Create. I selected the «calculation field» attribute. I clicked on the «Complex calculation button», but I don't know how to write my formulate DOCUMENT DATE - POSTING DATE.

    How Can I find the creation date of querries which I have done in query designer. Is there any Infoobject keeping track of this data (SAP DEFINED). Pls post msg as soon as possible.

    In Bex analizer, open the query in modify mode, than choose properties and you will find creation date.

  • Bulk request for query creation date

    Hello community,
    I have a list of technical names for 300+ queries, and I've been asked to provide the creation date for each one.
    I can find the creation dates one at a time using the BEx query properties.  But can someone tell me which table of the database this information is stored in ?
    I would like to run a single search and pull the creation date for all 300+ queries at one time.

    Hi guys,
    I do have a question to ABAP Query:
    I want to create a report that shows me all current active employees and all of their corresponding positions from Infotype 1.
    I have got it to the part where the report gives me all employees (active and withdrawn).
    The question is:
    How can I show only active employees as of todays date?

    but if I enter date 31.12.9999 and status of active. it gives me for some the latest record and for some two - though I could not find out why?!
    I should say, I am using logical database PNP for this query

    I just wanted to know is there any performance is affected whether Universe is created on top of Bex query or on top of Infocube.
    Out of these which is the Best practice to follow.

    This is the best practice to follow
    build your universe on top of Query not direct infocube
    this will keep the row level security applied.
    the performance will depend on how you design your query and the amount of data to be retrieved from the infocube.

  • Regarding Adhoc Query Creation

    Hi Experts,
    I am facing issue while creating Adhoc Query in the production Server. After clicking "Save"  button system shows the screen to enter "Package" related details.
    System shouldn't show this screen in the production server. I want query get save without package details.
    How i can remove that screen..
    I have observed one more thing also.. if i create User Group and Infoset, then save in Local Object package $TMP then system doesn't ask package details while creating query.

    Do in devlopment if sucess then move to PRD. Why you trying in direct PRD.
    Better go as per SAP standards only.. Production server is for only client purpose.

    I am creating a SAP query in the system using the tables KONP,MBEW & A018 i could join tables KONP & MBEW but i am not able to add the table A018 and a error message is displayed
    Error Message:
    Table A018 cannot be used in a join
    Message no. AQ501
    Diagnosis
    1. You cannot read the selected table with SELECT statements (because, for example, it is a structure without a database table). Therefore, this table cannot be read within a table join either.
    2. The chosen table is a pool or cluster table. These tables may not be used in a table join.
    Can anyone tell me a alternative to join this table to MBEW & KONP.
    I want this Join Conditions:
    MBEW-MATNR = A018-MATNR
    A018-KAPPL = KONP-KAPPL     
    A018-KSCHL = KONP-KSCHL     
    A018-KNUMH = KONP-KNUMH

    Hello Vinay,
    You have three transactions to accomplish this.
    SQ01 Is to create the query itself
    SQ02 Is to create the infoset that can contain queries.
    SQ03 Is to create the user group
    First things first:
    1. SQ02 Create an infoset and define the master join table (for joined queries) or the master table for queries on a single table. Remember that all the tables you might need in the queries you create in this infoset must be defined here! Once you have assigned the necessairy tables, define the fields you'll need for these tables.
    After this is all done, generate the infoset.
    2. SQ03 Create a user group. Then assign all the necessairy users that are allowed access to the user group and the infosets that are contained in the user group (so assign the infoset you just created in step 1)
    3. SQ01 Enter a query name and press create. Now your infoset should be listed in the input help (if not, make sure your username is assigned to the usergroup you created in step 2)
    Now you can start creating your query!

    Hi Gurus
    Do you know if there is any possibility to create query which gives same information as FBL3N - G/L account line items?
    My problem is that in FBL3N i cannot get the data from to selection screen to report header. I want to get there account from-to and period from-to. Someone said me that build a query and you can get the data to header. I know that there is some user exit to get the information to report header in FBL3N..any idea about that?
    But could some one give me detailed information how to create the query with the information in the header..infosets/tables? All advices are warmly welcome.

    Hi, I have Explored with SQL Query Scenario ,  Done all config with SQ03, SQ02, & SQ01........
    and I Come Up with with following questions...
        When i Joined using EKPO and EKKO , I am able to get output with desired selection and output field.
        but when i tried MARC table with one customised Z table im unable to get Output. the Err was "No Data Selection",
       but i gave  the selection data (Primary key fields data), which was present in both Tables. but still its throwing same error
       ... So does it mean that we can use SQL query for Z Customised Table.
        Plz have Look at this Problem..

    Hi, I need to create a query that returns a cursor to a web client. The cursor must return 3 columns from a query, so that it can display a list of tick boxes. The tickboxes have 3 states:- visible, enabled, and selected.
    In my example, I need to return a cursor so that it can display all 3 possible screens (i.e. sales, purchase, admin), for each of these screens a method of identifying whether the role allows the tick box to be enabled, and finally a method of ticking (selecting) the tick box according to the dept_id.
    So far i have this, which does everything i need it to do, except for identifying whether to tick the box.

    SQL>So either your test data doesn't tie up the way you think it does, or you need to rework the precedence of your set operators.
    By the way, the DISTINCTs are unnecessary - UNION gives your unique values anyway.
