Query definition - exclusion of calculated formulas

Hello
I have a formula 1 and a formula 2.
Let's say formula 1 has the result 1 = 100
On the other hand formula 2 has the result 2 = 30.
Another formula 3 subtracts the values of both formulas, 1 and 2, result  3 =  70.
Another example:
Formula 1, result 1 = 100
Formula 2, result 2 = '    '
As we can see, result 2 has no values as there are no records available in the InfoCube.
Now I would like to calculate formula 3 in the way, that this constellation of result 1 (=100) and result 2 (='   ') is ignored. That means there should be NO value be calculated for result 3.
How can this be achieved?
Regards

All right, I would like to explain it from my view.
Two cubes are assigend to a multiprovider.
Cube 1 contains actual data.
Cube 2 contains plan data.
F1 is calculated on one characteristic, called customer and the keyfigure revenue, coming from cube 1 (actual data).
F2 is  calculated on one characteristic, called customer and the keyfigure revenue, coming from cube 2 (plan data).
Customer 007 (James Bond) belongs to customer group MI6 (text: British Secret Service) and caused an actual revenue of 100 Moneypennies in May 2011.
The same customer 007 has no records in May 2011 in the planning area (cube 2), It means there were never uploaded planning data into this cube, therefore no records.
In the report (BEx Analyzer) I will definetely have two columns, one columne with actual data of 100 Moneypennies and one column which is blank (NOT zero) for the planning case. On the same line the customer 007 and month May 2011 is listed.
Any ideas?
Thanks

  • Hi , How to make a calculated kf as local in the query definition

    Hi ,
How to make a calculated kf as local in the query definition
    Regards,
    Ravi.

    Hi,
Calculate KF consists of Basic, restrict and other calculated kFs stored in Metadata repository.
Calculate KF is a replicate of Formula and acts as Global.
Calculate KF acts as Global--you can use Globally.
Formula as Local--you can use as local to Query.
you can create the Calculate KF as follow:
Goto Query Designer>Open/Create Query>Select Key Figures Mode on left side of Query>Select that KF node> right click Select Calculate Keyfigure.
then one popup window dispays, so you make the calculations based on Basic KF, Restirct Kf and Formule. then save it.

  • Problem Refreshing Query Definition on Workbook

Hi guys ....i have a very strange case.....in 3.5 users can execute workbooks without problems and also can change global and local definition of the query on formulas and keyfigures....but the column header texts are not updated in workbook....i have a description for columns and rows on workbook and another description on definiton of query....i checked the "goto query defintion on refresh" on properties and nothing happens...headers are not refreshed.....
I hope somebody could help me
    Regards

    Hi,
Is there any macro written which may be overwriting the column header.
If this is not the case then you must have saved workbook when it was last edited by editing the column headers. You can change in workbook the heqader column and then see whether the column header is taken from query definition or what you have saved in workbook.

  • SQ00 Calculation Formulas?

How do I display calculation formulas in SQ00 for the local fields. I see a calculation represented by '1', followed by a condition. How do I display calculation formula number 1?
       Thank-You.

    Tom,
That '1' that you see is the forumla.  Implied meaning:  YOURVAR = 1.
In that space where you see the 1 is where the calculation would be entered.  Replace the 1 with any combination of valid query functions/literals.  For example, replace the 1 with, say,  1 + 2 * 10.
Read the Query print doc, http://help.sap.com/printdocu/core/Print46c/en/data/pdf/BCSRVQUE/BCSRVQUE.pdf
    starting on page 144.

  • Using the Previous Row in a Calculator Formula

Hello.  I am using the calculator to create a new channel that is a custom filtered version of an existing channel.  Unfortunately, I have not been able to identify the previous row entry in the channel.  To make things easier, let's say my filter is a simple averager.  Here is simple pseudocode for what I want to do:
    New_Channel = (Existing_Channel[n] + Existing_Channel[n-1]) / 2
where n is the current row.
This is the calculator formula I have come up with:
    ch("[1]/New_Channel") = (CHD(chnRow - 1, "[1]/Existing_Channel") + ch("[1]/Existing_Channel")) / 2 + CTNV(chnRow > 1)
Unfortunately, I think chnRow only returns 0.
Obviously, I am a beginner.  I am open to other approaches to creating a new channel with a custom filter.
    Thanks!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi jbuttron,
What you need to do is to copy the channel and delete the first value from the copied channel-- then the Nth row of the original channel will line up with the (N-1)th row of the copied channel.  You should also add the last value of the copied channel to the end of that channel as a new value so both channels end up with the same channel length.  Now you can reference the channels with Ch("[1]/old") and Ch("[1]/new") in the channel calculator expression, assuming that the channel names are "old" and "new" respectively and that both are in the first group.  You don't need a row variable in the expression now, which is good because there's no way to iterate a row variable in a channel calculator expression.  The row iteration is implicit in the channel referencing Ch("[1]/new").

  • Date field not working in Query definition

    Hello Experts ,
I am trying to prepare one report which will pull some fields ( extended fields ) from Rfx header page and display in the report . For this I have made one  query definition and written SQL query .  Now all fields except the date fields are successfully fetched and displayed by the query .  Only when I am adding the date field inside "result field" tab , the query is throwing error  like -
    " ORA-00904: "EFFECTIVE_START_DATE": invalid identifier   "
but this field name is correct  .
Any formatting needs for this field ?
    Regards
    Sudipta

    Hi Sudipta,
    Thanks for your reply.
Actually I have created a diferent extension field and want to add that field in Results fields of particular Query Definition. But when I use it Tablename.Extension_Field_Name, its giving below exception
    ORA-00904: "t"."fieldname": invalid identifier
Any idea what needs to be taken care of while using extension fields in Queries.
    Thanks,
    Saloni

  • I Need Help to Access The Source Code From A Form to Know the Calculation Formula

    Hi,
I Need Help to Access The Source Code From A Form to Know the Calculation Formula. The application is a windows form application that is linked to SQL Server 2008. In one of the application forms it generates an invoice and does some calculations. I just
need to know where behind that form is the code that's doing the calculations to generate the invoice, I just need to get into the formula that's doing these calculations.
    Thank you so much.

    Hi,
Thanks for the reply. This is a view and [AmountDue] is supposed to be [CurrentDueAmount] + [PastDueAmount] - [PaidAmount]. The view is not calculating [PaidAmount] right . Below is the complete code of the view. Do you see anything wrong in the code ?

    FYI
When I run the above it comes back correctly. However when I add "MILESTONE" (Characteristic setting (Posted Values) to the Query Definition immediately after the "Milestone Type" and before CSR it does not work it just is hanging for a considerable time.
I am not using "Master Data" for the "Access Type for Result Vales" for the additional characteristic "MILESTONE" just "Posted Values".
I was expecting that it would just show all Milestone types as per Master Data but just the Milestones that are posted for this result.
I would appreciate a solution to this issue and an explanation to why it hangs when I add the "MILESTONE" characteristic to the definition as explained above.
    Thanks in advance..
    Stevo

    Hello there,
Putting Milestone in the rows in the query definition is not being hang there (i.e., while creating and saving the query) right?
It is stucked while executing the query isn't it so?
That's because you have too many records to be desaggregated by milestone characteristic, and this is indepently of posted values in the characteristic settings.
Putting milestone characteristic in the free characteristics will allow you to run the query, but desaggregate it (add it to the rows) will be to much information to read from your dataprovider (this is just a guess).
If it is being stucked in query execution whike milestone is in the rows. Try this for example:
Add milestone to the free chars. Execute the query. Filter milestone characteristic while still in the free rows and choose a value that you are pretty sure has the smallest records in the Dataprovider (could be for example value #). Than drill down milestone to the rows. You'll see that it can be executed without any problem.
    Diogo.

  • Not able to change query definition

I am working with BI 7.0.
In 3.5 I can change the query definition from the display results (Excel) of the query run, but from BI 7.0 I am not able to make changes to the query definition from the query displayed results. Is there an easy and quick way to do this? I would have to go to the Tools->Create new query and change the query from there.

    Hi,
When you run the query in BI Analyser, you have a 'Tools' button in the BEx Analysis Toolbox; when you click on it, you will get an 'Edit Query' option which will directly open your query definition. You can modify your query now and run it again from there back in excel.
Please note that for getting this option, your query must be running and the cursor must be placed on some cell of the query.

  • Sql query with conditions and calculations???

    Hi,
how I can build a query with conditions and calculations?
    E.g. I've got this table
Start          | End     |     Working Place     |     Mandatory
    01-JAN-13 | 11-JAN-13 |     Office           |          1
    14-JAN-13 | 25-JAN-13 |     Home Office      |     0
    04-MRZ-13| 15-MRZ-13 |     Office           |          0
    11-FEB-13 | 22-FEB-13 |     Office           |          1
Now if column working place=Office and column mandatory=0
the new column "price" has to calculate: (End-Start)* $25.00
and if working place=Office and column mandatory=1
the "price" column has to calculate: (End-Start)* $20.60
    else $0.00
I tried it with the case statement but I didn't know how
to calculate my values and display it to the virtual column "price".
    Something like
    case
    when Working_Place = 'Office' and Mandatory=1
         then ...
    else '0.00'
    end as PRICE
    Or is it not possible?

    Use CASE:
    select  start_dt,
            end_dt,
            working_place,
            mandatory,
            case
              when working_place = 'Office' and mandatory = 0 then (end_dt - start_dt) * 25
              when working_place = 'Office' and mandatory = 1 then (end_dt - start_dt) * 20.60
              else 0
            end price
      from  tbl
    START_DT  END_DT    WORKING_PLA  MANDATORY      PRICE
    01-JAN-13 11-JAN-13 Office               1        206
    14-JAN-13 25-JAN-13 Home Office          0          0
    04-MAR-13 15-MAR-13 Office               0        275
    11-FEB-13 22-FEB-13 Office               1      226.6

  • Another BW question about filter in the query definition

    Hi ,
I have another question about filter in the query definition.
    <u>Question:</u>
Which of the following objects can be filtered in the query definition?
    A. characteristic
    B. Key figure
    C. Structure
    D. Units
    E. Hierarchy
    My answer is A,B,D,E.
The answer in the book is A,B,D
Can anybody tell me which one is wrong?
    Thanks in advance,
    Liu Jia

    HI
1.The answer could be A,B,D.you can not apply filters on hierarchies
2.Whenever there is a change in Attribute data(like Location,Num etc...)that has to be reflected in all aggregates of the cube.Thsi can be done by running "ATTRIBUTE CHANGE RUN".
