Query is inactive

Hi ,
I am trying to execute a query. The query doesnt execute - it prompts me for  the user id and password and after which it gives error saying - query not yet calculated, error in program , factory -02. when tried to check for the query in RSRV it gives me message saying the query is inactive.
I am not able to open the query too. throws errror message.
Please let me know what can be done for this.
Thanks in advance.
Maddy

Hi .
There can be various reasons for the error:
The report is unable to calculate the result for the condition / filter you have used, You are doing complex calculations and the report is taking time to calculate the same, the report is running for huge data, etc
To solve: You can give proper filter for the same. Make the user selection option mandatoy so that the report runs for a specific data set.

  • Query for Inactive customer becomes active

Looking for query that will show me all customers that have started to purchase from us.
ie.  who have not made a purchase for the past six months and then started up again.
    Any help is appreciated.

    Try this one:
    SELECT T0.CardCode, T0.CardName, (Select Max(DocDate) From DBO.ODLN Where CardCode = T0.CardCode AND DateDiff(dd, docdate, getdate()) < 183
Group By cardcode Having Count(DocENtry) = 1) AS 'DocDate'
    From DBO.ODLN T0
    Where DateDiff(dd, t0.docdate, getdate()) < 183 AND DateDiff(DD,(Select Max(DocDate) From DBO.ODLN Where CardCode = T0.CardCode AND DateDiff(dd, docdate, getdate()) < 183 Group By cardcode Having Count(DocENtry) = 1), GetDate()) < 31
I have assumed only active within one month should be showed. You could select any days you like by changing the last number.

         "GP4GEQTW5ZYQ55LEA0O6XEV6YB0". This program
        does not exist.
Note : when I checked query in RSRV it is inactive ? how can i know the reason for why query is inactive..
    Thanks,
    Mark

    Hi Mark,
In that case please check if this query was changed/transported in recent past.
It is possible that the query was imported and did not get activated in After import steps.
Check in Quality/Acceptance, what is the status there. If you could find the specific transport request, check the transport logs.
If you fins that the query was imported improperly, then please import is once again. Make sure that you are collecting every object of the query in TR.

  • Inactive clients not showing up as inactive in console, but show on inactive client report

    Good morning,
I have Client Status Reporting installed, configured, and reporting successful database updates on my SCCM 2007 install.  However, the client properties don't list the machines as inactive.  For example, one device on the report says inactive
but when I right-click > properties on the system object it lists the "active" property as 1 when it should be 0.  Can anyone speculate why this isn't updating?  I need to query my inactive machines to take into account my patch statistics
for upper management.  If "inactive" isn't 0 then the query won't return any results.  Thanks for any help!

Yes, I know this is an old post, I’m just trying to clean them up.
There can be many reason for this, but if I had to guess, I would thing that you have two object in the database with the exact same name, one active and one inactive. To solve the report problem I personally, delete all inactive PCs as
soon as I find them in the CM07 database.

  • Cycle Counting - Inactive Items

    Hi,
The Inactive items are appearing in the cycle count. Is this the intended functionality of the Oracle?
Also please let me know how to make sure that Inactive items dont appear on the cycle counts.
    Thanks in advance.
    RA

Deleting data from open interface will not stop the cycle count requests showing the items..
The CC requests will stop getting created for the items only when you DELETE the item form the CC.
Follow the below navigation and delete the item's
    INV Super User>>Counting>>Cycle Counting>>Cycle Counts>>Your CC NAme>>Open>>Items>>Query ur Inactive Item>>Delete
After you do this for all your inactive items there should not be any new requests to do CC for these items

  • Query read mode-Cache mode

    Hi,
Can u explain me the functionalities of the options:
A-Query to read all data at once
X-Query to read data during navigation
H-Query to read when u navigate or expand hierarchies
I am not clear of the diff. bet. the X,H options....
    <b>Cache Mode:</b>
    0-Cache is Inactive
    1-Main memory cache without swapping
    2-Main memory cache without swapping
    3-Main memory cache with swapping
4-Persistent cache for each application server
5-Persistent cache across each application server
    <b>Optimization Mode:</b>
0-Query will be optimised after generation
1-Query optimization with individual periods in days
    9-Query optimization inactive
Can u explain these functionalities in detail...
    Max.points will be assigned

    HI,
    PLease check this..
    1.      Query to be read when you navigate or expand hierarchies (H)
The amount of data transferred from the database to the OLAP processor is the smallest in this mode. However, it has the highest number of read processes.
In the following mode Query to read data during navigation, the data for the fully expanded hierarchy is requested for a hierarchy drilldown. In the Query to be read when you navigate or expand hierarchies mode, the data across the hierarchy is aggregated and transferred to the OLAP processor on the hierarchy level that is the lowest in the start list. When expanding a hierarchy node, the children of this node are then read.
You can improve the performance of queries with large presentation hierarchies by creating aggregates on a middle hierarchy level that is greater or the same as the hierarchy start level.
           2.      Query to read data during navigation (X)
The OLAP processor only requests data that is needed for each navigational status of the query in the Business Explorer. The data that is needed is read for each step in the navigation.
In contrast to the Query to be read when you navigate or expand hierarchies mode, presentation hierarchies are always imported completely on a leaf level here.
The OLAP processor can read data from the main memory when the nodes are expanded.
When accessing the database, the best aggregate table is used and, if possible, data is aggregated in the database.
           3.      Query to read all data at once (A)
There is only one read process in this mode. When you execute the query in the Business Explorer, all data in the main memory area of the OLAP processor that is needed for all possible navigational steps of this query is read. During navigation, all new navigational states are aggregated and calculated from the data from the main memory.
The read mode Query to be read when you navigate or expand hierarchies significantly improves performance in almost all cases compared to the other two modes. The reason for this is that only the data the user wants to see is requested in this mode.
Compared to the Query to be read when you navigate or expand hierarchies, the setting Query to read data during navigation only effects performance for queries with presentation hierarchies.
Unlike the other two modes, the setting Query to Read All Data At Once also has an effect on performance for queries with free characteristics. The OLAP processor aggregates on the corresponding query view. For this reason, the aggregation concept, that is, working with pre-aggregated data, is least supported in the Query to read all data at once mode.
We recommend you choose the mode Query to be read when you navigate or expand hierarchies.
Only choose a different read mode in exceptional circumstances. The read mode Query to read all data at once may be of use in the following cases:
The InfoProvider does not support selection. The OLAP processor reads significantly more data than the query needs anyway.
             1.      Cache is Inactive (0)
    The cross-transactional cache is deactivated.
The following modes are possible for the active cache: The cross-transactional cache is activated.
           2.      Main Memory Cache Without Swapping (1)
The cache data is stored in the main memory. When the cache memory has been exhausted, excess data is removed according to the LRU algorithm, i.e. deleted from the memory. When a query is subsequently requested, the result is read from the InfoProvider once again.
           3.      Main Memory Cache with Swapping (2)
The cache data is stored in the main memory. When the caching memory is used up, the excess data is written to a background and can be loaded back into the cache memory when making another request.
After query-relevant data has been loaded again, the background store can no longer be used.
           4.      Persistent Cache per Application Server (3)
The cache data is stored persistently as a database table or as a file in a directory attainable from the application server. We recommend that you choose a directory that is proximate to the application server.
When you save the cache data in a database table this puts a strain on the database. However, it is also then quicker to access uncached data in the database.  In comparison to storing data in, for example, a star schema (see InfoCube), fewer tables are read and fewer indexes are accessed.
           5.      Cross-Application Server Persistent Cache (4)
The cache data is stored persistently as a cross-application server database table or file in a file system in the network, accessed from the application server.  In this mode there is no displacement of data and no restriction on memory size. More space is required but this method also saves time.
¡        Database table: Strain is put on the database instance for the table.
¡        File: Strain is put on the network node operating system for the file.
¡        In addition, the application server that calculates the data and network communication has to be taken into account with both storage types.
If you do not make any other settings the OLAP processor determines the optimal initial size of the table SP, that is the memory structure in which data is held and processed in the OLAP processor (see Cache Structure). This is done after the first execution and again after a period of 31 days since the last optimization. It automatically generates a report afterwards.
In the Query Properties dialog box in the Query Monitor you can implement, modify of deactivate this function. Choose one of the following options:
    ·        Query is optimized after generation (0)
    ·        Query optimization with individual periods in days (1) Here you can determine the optimization period yourself.
    ·        Query optimization inactive (9)
    Hope this helps..
    Bye,
    Shashikanth.

  • JDBC Driver 11.2.0.1.0 freeze after execute query with order by

    Hi,
    I have two tables : A and B
The table B has as foreign key the ID from table A.

After executing query I see on database that query remains inactive and I don't receive any response on my client.
I've activate the oracle driver logs and I notice that driver stop working after these lines

I'm using linux machine to execute this query, and I tried execute this same application in another linux machine and the query works.
It's very strange, for instance, this only happens if I have two records on table B using the id from table A, and also happens if only one record from table A.
Could someone help me what's going on with oracle driver?

After line: Dec 27, 2012 11:33:38 AM oracle.jdbc.driver.DBConversion getNCharSetId TRACE_16: Exit the driver freeze.
I can see on DB that query keep INACTIVE and oracle driver doesn't throws any exception.
My Oracle version is 11.2.0.1.0 and as well as oracle driver, I also tried use the version 11.2.0.3.0 but the problem persists.
    More facts:
If I remove or replace by another field the clause order by TABLE_A_ID from query the query works.
In this case, I have two recods on TABLE_B with TABLE_A_ID equals 2, if I remove one of these records the query works.
The bug happens only one specific machine where the number of routers is bigger than another machine that works with all possible scenarios.

  • Currency Conversion Type missing in BEx

I have created a new conversion translation type M1 based on Monthly Average exchange.
RSCUR definition for  this conversion on the time ref tab to be a "variable time reference"- End of Period for
Standard Info Object Fiscal Period "0FISCPER".
Is this configuration the cause for placing a limiting restriction on the visability of this selection at runtime of query.
The following currency translation types are not available at the runtime of the query.
    ●      Translation types for which a variable is stored (variable time reference, source currency from variable, target currency from variable, and so on).
From BEx I am unable to select Currency Conversion (Convert to Currency USD) and Use of Currency Translation M1
    Thank You ...... Dan

    Andrey:
Once BEx query results are displayed in M/S excel ... the user navigates (right click) to (local) query properties:
Tab >> Currency Conversion >> select Convert to Currency will open option to determine Currency (USD) and Currency Translation (via drill down).
Those Currency conversion types configured with variable time reference on InfoObject 0FISCPER cannot re-determine
target currency values. Fixed Time reference conversion types can be selected through BEx.
I found a restriction/ limitation in the following thread.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/ec/076f3b6c980c3be10000000a11402f/frameset.htm
    Restrictions:
The following currency translation types are not available at the runtime of the query.
    ●      Inactive translation types
    ●      Translation types for which a variable is stored (variable time reference, source currency from variable, target currency from variable, and so on)
    ●      Translation types in which an InfoObject is used for determining the source currency or target currency.
Are you aware of any way around this ??
    Thank you ....... Dan

  • Content Database removed from protected SharePoint Farm

    Hi,
We have a SharePoint 2007 farm protected with DPM 2012. We have removed a content database and now DPM is complaining about it, which is the expected behaviour in order to get noticed of accidentally missing databases. According to several sources, the right
way to get rid of these alerts is to stop protection - retaining data - and reprotecting it using the same parameters, so the DPM agent finds the retained data as a starting point.
However, our farm has about 4Tb allocated and we have less than 1 additional Tb free now in the DPM Pool, so if we stop protection and retain data, DPM will complain about the farm not fitting in that Tb (looks like DPM does not take into account that pertinent
data exists previously when estimating the replica and shadow sizes), so we will not be able to protect the farm again if we stop protection retaining data.
Funny, eh? any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
When you stop protection and retain the replica, DPM will move the sharepoint data source into an inactive protection group.  When you re-protect the same sharepoint farm, DPM will first query the inactive protection group to see if a replica exists
for that data source and if so will reuse that replica.  It will then do a consistency check to bring the replica up to date, then resume normal backups. Be sure the use the same recovery goals if you are not adding it back to the same protection group.

  • Query is running but status shows INACTIVE

    Hi All,
I am running one query and is still running but when i checked v$session the status shows INACTIVE since long time..
Can somebody please help me to understand why the status is INACTIVE even if the query is running.. Is my session waiting for some resources?
Also i checked v$session_wait it shows "SQL*Net message from client"
    Oracle version 9.2.0.7.0
    OS : SunOS 5.10
    Module : Sql*Plus
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    -Harsh

Thanks much for your reply Mark.
This session i myself running from sqlplus and its still running.
    Also here's my session info
    select SID, STATUS, program, module, last_call_et from v$session where SID=78;
    SID     STATUS     PROGRAM     MODULE     LAST_CALL_ET
    78     INACTIVE     sqlplus.exe     SQL*PLUS     0
I checked the locks too there is no blocking or blocked sessions using following.
    select /*+ RULE */ a.session_id, s.serial#, s.username, s.status
    from dba_locks a, v$session s
    where a.blocking_others = 'Blocking'
    and a.session_id = s.sid
    order by 1;
Now under v$session_wait my session 78 is showing wait as 'db file sequential read'
So is my session now waiting for resources? Can you please help me how to find that my query has enough resources or if not does my session is under wait.
    Thanks
    -Harsh

  • Inactive Stock query

Client needs a report for inactive stock - that is any stock that has shown no movement for a certain period in the past
(sales orders, deliveries, invoices, credit notes).
The fields required are - ItemCode, ItemGroup, Warehouse, Last Purchase Price, StockValue
The standard report in SBO (Inactive Items) does not give all the required info and I have no idea how to go about this.
Can anyone help with a query please?
    Regards

    Dear Mr Gijzen,
I wrote the wrong report name. I was thinking about the Inventory Valuation Report.
In the selection criteria you can choose Calc. Method by Price list and choose Last Purchase price under Price source.
The columns of this report are the warehouse, the item, the quantity, the cumulative value according the criteria you have previously chosen and the system date.
Please, note that this report is used for managerial reasons and will not update the change the valuation method chosen for the items.
    Apologies for the previous mistake.

  • Cell definition choice in Query Designer is inactive

In the Query Designer the choice "Define cells" is inactive, or grayed out. Why is this? Is there a global setting or does it have something to do with the query itself?

    Hi TMV,
if you want to see the "cell " option in active mode , first u must have two structures.
one is charactersitc structure and on key figure.
Just go throw the below description.
    Hi,
just go throw the below description:
In the Query Designer, choose View ® Cells from the menu bar to reach the functions of the cell definition. The Cells screen area is displayed.
    New selection
    1. Select a cell in the Cell screen area and choose New Selection with the secondary mouse button. The new selection that is not yet defined appears in the cell.
    2. Select the new selection and choose Edit from the context menu. The Change Selection Cells dialog box appears. Make the basic settings on the General tab page.
    3. Use Drag&Drop to define your required selection by dragging a key figure and the characteristic values by which you want to restrict the key figure to the right-hand area of the Details of the Selection dialog box. See Defining Selections.
You can use characteristic value variables instead of fixed characteristic values.
    - If you want to change an existing variable, select the variable and choose Edit from the context menu. The variables editor appears and you can change the settings.
    - If you want to define a new variable, select the characteristic value and choose New Variable from the context menu. The new variable is displayed. Choose Edit from the context menu of the new variable. The variables editor appears and you can define the settings.
For more information, see Defining Variables.
    4. Enter a description for the selection.
You can use text variables in the description.
    5. Make any necessary settings for the properties of the selection on the other tab pages. See Selection/Formula Properties.
    6. Choose OK. The cell contains the description of the selection. The symbol shows you that a selection exists for this exception cell.
    New formula
    1. Select a cell in the Cell Definition dialog box and, using the secondary mouse button, choose New Formula from the context menu. The new formula that is not yet defined appears in the cell.
    2. Select the new formula and choose Edit from the context menu. The Change Formula Cell dialog box appears. Make the basic settings on the General tab page.
    3. Define your formula using the operands and functions available. See Defining Formulas.
    4. Enter a description of the formula.
You can use text variables in the description.
    5. Make any necessary settings for the properties of the formula in the other tab pages. See Selection/Formula Properties.
    6. Choose OK. The cell contains the description of the formula. The symbol shows you that a formula exists for this exception cell.
    New cell reference
You can use any cell that you define in a formula. If you want to reuse the value from the implicit, generic cell definition that is automatically created at the intersection of the two structural components of a query, select this cell in the Cell screen area and, using the secondary mouse button, choose New Cell Reference. A description taken from the two structural components now automatically appears in the cell. The symbol shows you that a cell reference exists for this exception cell. Now you can reference this cell. You can continue to use the implicit cell definition and do not have to manually generate this value using a new selection.
    Functions of explicitly defined cells:
Select a defined cell and choose the required function from the context menu (secondary mouse button).
    &#9679; Edit
    &#9679; Cut
    &#9679; Copy
    &#9679; Paste
    &#9679; Remove
    &#9679; Where-Used List
Before you delete a cell, you can check for the formulas in which the defined cell is used in the where-used list.
You reach the properties of a defined cell by selecting the defined cell. In the Properties screen area you can also make changes such as:
&#9679; Changing the description of the cell
&#9679; Changing the highlighting of the cell
&#9679; Hiding the cell ( if you do not want to see the values of the cell)
    Help cells
In the Help Cells area you can define additional cells for help selections or help formulas. You can use the functions New Selection and New Formula in the context menu to define help cells that are not displayed in the query to serve only as objects for help selections and help formulas.
For example, you can define an invoice in a help cell and use this in a “real” cell to calculate a duplicated invoice.
    a. Using the secondary mouse button, click on the empty cell next to Help Cells to reach the context menu. From here, choose New Selection.
    b. Use Drag&Drop to drag the Invoice key figure into the right-hand Details of the Selection area.
    c. Enter a description.
    d. Choose OK. The cell contains the description of the selection. The symbol shows you that a selection exists for this exception cell.
    e. Now choose New Formula from the context menu of the required cell of the query. The new formula that is not yet defined appears in the cell.
    f. Select the new formula and choose Edit from the context menu.
    g. Use Drag&Drop to drag the cell you have just defined, which you can find in the Available Operands window under Cells, into the Detail View window. Click on the button twice.
    h. Enter a description.
    i. Choose OK. The cell contains the description of the formula. The symbol shows you that a formula exists for this exception cell.
    Result
You have defined one or more exception cells for a query.

    Shailaja

  • BEx Query-Problem opening query showing restricted key figure is inactive

    Hi  all,
While activating the Query we are getting error , the object is missing in active version  ?
And also it is not allowing to open the query  how  to activate the query element now?
Also restricted key figure is inactive and how to activate the query in background ?

    Hi,
I have never heard of query activation, we simply create the query and save it. I don't know which activity you are referring to but try to open your query through RSRT and check what is the error it shows?
And before that make sure that your Infoprovider is in active state.
    Regards,
    Durgesh.
