Can we have change existing storage type (like geo-redundant to locally-redundant storage)?

In addition to "Azure-Amjad" reply,
If you trying to change the replication type from "GeoRedundant" to "Locally Redundant" through Powershell, then you may try below command:
Set-AzureStorageAccount -StorageAccountName <storageaccountname> -GeoReplicationEnabled $false -Label “disabled geo replication”
Before, you execute the above command, check if the GeoRedundant is enabled or disable by following command:
Get-AzureStorageAccount -StorageAccountName <storageaccountname>

Query regarding Output Types

Hello Experts,
I have one output type for sales documents. I am able to successfully trigger it for credit/debit memos but when I try to trigger it for standard orders then I am getting "Output not defined" error. Can anybody please tell me where in the config we can define output types for sales document types.
I have one more query. While trying to trigger one billing document output I am getting "Update Terminated" error. But for same billing document I am able to trigger other output types. If "Update Terminated" error is coming due to number range then should it not be coming for all output types since there is no output type specific number range defined.

please check the configuration settings
IMG-sales & distribution-basic functions-output control-output determination-output determination using the condition technique-maintain output determination for sales documents.
1. create condition table . Key combination for maintaining condition record.
2. access sequence. assign condition table to access sequence.
3. ouput condition type. Select appropriate for inquiry, quotation or sales order. Assign the access sequence to the ouput type.
4.ouput determination procedure. Here you assign the output type to this procedure.
5. assign output determination procedure. Assign the procedure at header level if you want full document ouput. Assign the procedure at Item category level if you want item level output.
6. VV11 - create condition records for sales document types or VV31 for billing document types.
create the order or billing document and see the result.

Query regarding condition type value calculation in VA05

Dear Gurus,
We had maintained one condition type Z*** where we had declared the condition type as follows:
Condition class - Prices
Calculation type - Quantity
Plus/Minus - A (positive).
We had maintained the condition table as :
Price = 200 USD per 10 EA
Lower limit = uppler limit = 0.
When we are calculating the price in the sales document, the system is taking the price of 10 units as 200 USD correctly.
But in VA05 screen, the confirmed net value for 10 units is shown as 10*200 = 2000 USD which is wrong.
Can anybody throw a light on how the confirmed net value for VA05 screen is calculated.

If it is representing the value of the condition type, then it is a new field customised by your technical team. Standard VA05 doesnot represent the value of any condition type. So please check with your developer, may be there is a problem in their program.

Query regarding FM type

hi,
we can create three different type of FM namely
1. normal fm
2. remote enabled fm ( RFC)
3. UPDATE fm
i just want to know what is this update FM how it works and how is it different from othere types of fm.
secondaly, there are four other radio buttons on attributes screen of fm.
if any one can tell me the practical functionality of each one of those as F1 help don't have anything for them.

Query regarding document type

This is a basic part of FI
The Document flow in SAP-FI is categorized by the document types attached to them. All this document types differentiates the document flow, i.e. from where the accounting document was generated form SD, MM, FI etc. What SAP does is that for each Document types or rather groups of document types the data goes into four tables 1) Header table BKPF, contains the document type attached to the Document number
2) The Document table ( the table name starts generally with BS*) that is actually contains document number and its transactional details (debit amount and credit amount) for e.g. BSID and BSAD which contains the Sales order open and clear items
4) The Cluster table BSEG which contains the transactional amount of all the tables taken together, so it means that where ever the amount has come from it will go into the BSEG table and the transparent attached to it.
So what the program will do is:
1)     You will have a selection screen that will have a parameter entry for the Document type.
2)     Select all the table names from DD02L table where TABNAME = BS* and TABCLASS = TRANSP
3)     Think of the logic of how to connect the Document types to the BS* transparent table.

using document types u can fetch the revelant document numbers from the header table BKPF.using the fetched document numbers u can fetch the necessary data from the line item tables (BS*).

i have a query regarding the data type for fetcing records from multiple ODS tables.
if i have 2 table with a same column name then in the datatype under parent row node i cant add 2 nodes with the same name.
can any one help with some suggestion.

Hi Mudit,
One option would be to go as mentioned by Padamja , prefxing the table name to the column name or another would be to use the AS keyoword in your SQL statement.
AS is used to rename the column name when data is being selected from your DB.
So, the query Select ename as empname from emptable will return the data with column name as empname.

I am trying to do the inventory clearing in both warehouse and Inventory management using the transactions LI20 and LI21 after counting the inventory. But whenever I am trying to do the writeoff's I am facing with an error "Storage type & not suitable as an interface (SU management is active)"
I couldnt able to figure out the main cause for this error. Your valuable suggestions would be highly appreciated.

I am getting this message while I am doing LI21. And you have suggested that, the difference storage type SU managed. which is a 999 storage type. and this is not SU managed.
I would also like to ask regarding the clearing of differences in warehouse and Inventory mangement. I am using the mvmt types 711 and 712, But what account documents will get generated. I am thinking there will be no account documents that will get generated. Adding to this I am getting "Account 6701 requires an assignment to a CO object with Message no. KI235". If we do this assignment to this CO object......... doesnt the transaction go and hit the balance sheet account.
I am lil baffled with this whole process. If you could give me your valuable information, that will help me a lot.

Query to see Material movements in MM (MSEG) + storage type from WM (LTAP)

I tried transaction MCLH, but the transaction gives to informations. I think that the infosystem is not completely builded up.
So I have do create a new Z-Report to get the an query so see Material movements in MM (MSEG) with the
storage type from WM (LTAP). But I don`t know how to get the relations between those tables MSEG and ltap. But I need to know which storage type belongs to which movement in MM. Is that possible?

LTAP is Transfer Order item table while LTAK is the header table. You can get movement type (both IM and WM) and material document number from LTAK table.

High Level Bin Search, before Storage Type Search

Can anyone help me to guide, which user Exit/Badi, be used for searching Empty bins, before storage type search. I come to know from one of colleague below message.

Background: Want to do putaway with storage type 007: Our high rack is having space (Bins) with different capacity. One rack can have 4 type of racks.

Thanks for your quick reply. I am trying user exit given by you. Once again I would like to submit my requirements here.
a) We have 98 racks in Warehouse.
b) Product is Ball Bearing.
c) Bearings are handeled in Ea, Issue and Stock unit is Ea
d) Alternate Unit of Measure is Box, i.e. per box quantity is mentioned into Material Master.
e) Each Rack is having 5 different type of bins.
f) We want to fill rack from bottom to top for first rack, and then next rack.
g) Once we do putaway for any material, each time system should pick Next empty bin, and each bin type is different.
Case 1) If going with Storage Type 007:
                i) Need to maintain palletization data in Material master WM view 2.
               ii) Can not maintain any capacity check for Capacity utilization in Material Master. Capacity is only Pallatization data.
              iii) While creating TO, System goes for placemet of material from bottom to Top in Rack, but give similar quantity for each bin, & these quantities are defined from Material Master from Palletization data.
              iv) In this case it is not checking bin capacity.
My query:
i) How can we split quantity during TO Creation based on Next Empty Bin avaialbe with certain capacity and all further bins with other capacity.
ii) Can we have different type of bins in one storage type if we are going for Storage type 007. or it is mandatory to have similar kind of bins.
Case 2) If going for Storage type 002:
              i) Not maintined Palletiztaion data in Material master.
             ii) Maintining capacity check in WM View 1.
            iii) Maintained Capacity check in Bin master.
            iv) WHile careting TO , system doesnot spilt quantity for next empty bins avaialbe, Only one line item comes for whole quantities. and system throw an error.
Message Number: Message no. L3068
Message Details: Maximum quantity for storage bin TR-15 will be exceeded by 740.000 PC
My query: How can we split TO quantity as per next empty bins available.

Problem in Restricting Storage Type in LT05

Hi Gurus,
I am working on LT05 transaction. Right now if i enter Warehouse No and Posting Change No i am getting 2 line items in Stock in Storage Types i.e Storage Types 915 and TOT. My functional consultant requirement is to restrict 915 and other 9 series Storage Types. It should display only Storage type TOT. So is there any user exit or BADI to restrict this Storage Type 915. Please help.

Are you sure your launchPopupListener is being executed? Any error?
Try debugging your application by setting the breakpoint in the lauchPopupuListener code and see if the where clause is set properly (or the bind variable) and the query is executed successfully.

Reservation of stock at Storage Type level in Warehouse

Hi Gurus,
My client is currently using ORACLE ERP system and they are migrating to SAP.
In ORACLE there is a flexibility wherein reservation can be activated for warehouse stock.
However, in SAP we are mapping the multiple warehouses present in ORACLE as Storage types.
So, I would like to know whether there is a way to reserve the stocks at storage type level.
According to my analysis direct reservation is possible at plant and storage location level.
However I would like to know from you whether there is a direct way to reserve the stocks in storage type in warehouse or any in-direct way possible to reserve the storage type stock?

However, in SAP we are mapping the multiple warehouses present in ORACLE as Storage types.
That's probably a bad move. A physical warehouse should be at least one storage location, and storage types should only be used for sub organization inside a warehouse.
For example if Storage types are used for High Rack, Bulk, etc (what they are supposed to be used for) there is no reason to reserve stock in a specfic storage type.
Storage type vs Storage location. A "type" shouldn't be used to separate different warehouses.

Here is the complete scenario .....
W1 -- Warehouse1 which has Supplies and Pharma
W2 -- Warehouse 2 which has Supplies and Equipments
W3 -- Warehouse 3 has Pharma only
W1 and W3 are in one Physical structure with partition
W2 is across the road...
1. Supplies move from W2 to W1 when supplies go low in warehouse 1 (W1) this is done almost daily .
2. Supplies from W1 are moved to W2 if there is any overflow or supplies come in excess which happens few times a week.
3. We have 3 shipment points where they perform shipping and receiving each for W1,W2 and W3.
4. we have 6 staging spots for staging of international shipments on W1
 and we have about 10 staging spots in W2 ....We need to know the exat location of where the shipping pallet is located for compliance purpose (Inspection )
5. Most of the receiving is done in W1 (about 85 %) where it is inspected , arranged and then put away is done accordingly ....
 If the shipment contains only equipments or Beds then its received in W2.
6. When there is an overflow of Pharma in W1 then some of the supplies in W1 are removed and put in W2 so that they get space for Pharma storage .....
7. Warehouse 3 (W3) has high value Pharma, basically used for domestic shipments (in US) or the pharma products which dont have space in W1.
8.. Moving of Pharma products for storage from W3 to W1 happens rarely;
9. Moving from W1 to W3 happens almost daily ..cause when ever the products get over in W3 then they move it from W1.
10. Picking for international shipments takes place from W3 and W1 and are shipped from W1 in big Pallets.
11. When they receive the product in Big pallets in W1 some pharma products go to W1 and some in W3 , depending on the value .
12. Some times the domestic Shipments are in large quantity so its taken from W3 to W1 and staged for shipment in W1.
13. Domestic (within US) shipments is done through Fed Ex ....which is done daily ....
My Question is will it be wise to
OPTION 1:make these 3 warehouses into 3 storage locations...(1 plant >3storage locations>1 warehouse )or
OPTION 2: is it wise to make these 3 warehouses into 3 storage types ...... (1plant --->1 storage location --->1 warehouse -
>3 storage types -->1 section under each storage type )
Will there be any problem to define shipping point,carry physical inventory,stock transfers and work with RF devices in future if i choose option 2 
Your Advise is precious to me ....Please do let me know the pros and cons .....for options ..above ....

Hello Albert,
It's always suggested to have very simple organization structure so we can avoid extra transaction.
Now in your case, if you define three Plant/SLoc/warehouse then you are going to end up with more and more transactions at inventory level and followed by warehouse transactions.
I suggest to have one Sloc and one warehouse for this kind of organization and maintain different storage type for each physical location. This will reduce the IM level transactions. Now when moving material from one facility to another facility you can maintain one more storage type for the Transport Equipement (i.e. Cart/Forklift etc) so when you move from W1 to W2 at that time you can do bin to bin transfer.
Also you want facility for overflow in one facility so this can be achieved with allowing two storage type for putaway.
for different kind of Supplies and pharma, I am sure you will plan different material type for them so that will help to get reports for each category.

How to delete the material records related to storage type

Dear SAP guru's,
I got a situation that if the material "XXXXXX" exists in two different storage type (let say 001 & 002 ) and the material needs to be removed out of one (Let say 002) to avoid the picking and putaway in future.
Inorder to accomplish an above requirement we tried the below cases
Case 1: By flagged the material "XXXXXX" under storage type 002 in MM06 transaction.But it didn't restrict the system on allocating and removing the stock from /to to the storage type 002.
Case 2:After we flagged the material for deletion under storage type 002 ,we used to MM71 transaction to archive & delete the material record that assocaited with the storage type 002 completely.
I am kind of queiries to know if there is any other method or procedure available to delete the storage type associated material records in SAP.
Please guide me with the other options.Thanks.

Hi John,
Its very simple, remove the Storage type indicators from the material master - Warehouse View 1 at Stock placement & Stock removal section, with this it won't pickup or place the materials in the concerned storage type.
If you have extended this materials to more than 1 storage type, you need to do the same for all the storage types.

Goto LT01 transaction with Movment type = 999 and stock category = Required stock category. Create a PCN and process the remaining process so as to change the stock type.
