Query: Sequence of Exceution in BI 7

Hi Experts,
I have three CKF. CKF1 and CKF2 are qty converted to Pounds from Source UOM using conversion tab.
Now CKF3 = PO Value / CKF2
While looking closely at the query output, the Avg Value (CKF 3) is not picking up the converted value (CKF2) in Pounds for its calculation FOR ANY OF the records. It is picking up the qty value before conversion
One other thing I can think of is that a calculation with converted values is not possible period due to the sequence of events. maybe the calculation of the values happens before the conversion.
Can anyone tell if this issue has been faced by anyone in BI 7? If so whats the solution
Thanks
Hundia

Hi,
I have not faced exactly same kind of situation but this sequencing thing affected us once.
You can try using NODIM function in formula while calulating CKF3 or convert your CKF3 to Pounds after calculating avg (if possible).
Hope it helps...

  • Customer Exit Variable and Condition in a Query (Sequence of Execution)

    Hi,
      For a query i defined a Customer exit variable and a condition....
    Which will first execute...wether it is a  Variable and then Condition or vise versa
    Is there any way we can control sequence of execution
    My requirment is first to execute the condition and the variable how can i control this
    Thanks

    Hi
    In your customer exit you will be having a field by name I_STEP which will help you to handle the time of execution of the variable.

  • Prompts and physical Query Sequence

    Hi
    Hopefully someone will be able to answer my question. We have a answer with a filter and we have a prompt on the dashboard. The report only runs after the user has selected values from the prompt and clicked on the 'go' button.
    What I want to know is, is the Answer run first with the filter applied and then after the dataset has been returned from the database is the prompt applied afterwards? Or does the prompt act as an AND to the filter and a limited selection is retrieved from the database hence better query performance? If so when the user selects another value in the prompt the dataset is requeried in the database?
    Thanks
    Adnan

    I'm using option 2. The filter is on a different column and the prompt is on a different column. I have a default value on the prompt which does not exist hence when the user first navigates to the dashboard there are no results displayed. The use then selects a valid option in the prompt and clicks 'go' and the results are returned.
    The question is when the above scenario is played out are all the possible values which fall under the filter returned from the db and then the prompt applied to them or is the dataset restricted from the db using the prompt value?
    An easy example of this say I restrict my Answer on the Country field to 'US' and then have a prompt on teh State field. The prompt default is 'No Result' hence no results will be displayed when the user navigates to the dashboard. When the user select the value 'Texas' from the prompt does OBIEE query return all states from the database and then apply the prompt values of 'Texas' or is a limited dataset returned from the db i.e. in this case only records where the State is 'Texas' returned from the db hence better query performance?
    Hope this isn't too confusing.

  • Go_block doesn't wait after execute query.

    Hi All,
    I have an issue with go_block and execute query sequence. I have a code
    snippet which is in a program unit called form key-exeqry trigger. As per
    the expected behaviour the cursor should wait on the block for user input.
    But it just shows the block with the details and moves to the next code
    after execute-query. I added few debug messages in when-new-block-instance
    and pre-query triggers for the block, but none of them get executed.
    This block is being displayed through an another flow and there it waits .
    Please help!!
    Thanks in advance
    Ashok
    if l_cnt >0 then
    message('condition matched');pause;
         l_where := 'acct_no = 1114';
         go_block('sel_acct');
         clear_block(no_validate);
    set_block_property('sel_acct',DEFAULT_WHERE,l_where);
    execute_query;
         message('after sel_acct');pause;

    > As per the expected behaviour the cursor should wait on the block for user input.
    You are confusing Enter_Query with Execute_Query.
    If you change your Execute_Query to Enter_Query, the process will stop and allow the user to enter query values. However, your next line,
    message('after sel_acct');pause;
    will never execute.
    But, you should NOT code the Enter_Query command in a process called by Key-Exeqry, since the user needs to press Key-Exeqry after he enters query values. Your process above should be initiated by a Key_EntQry trigger instead.

  • Custom column headers

    How can I get a column header to span 2 columns in my report region? Each data column should have its own heading as well.
    In addition, this column header should be dynamic (well, not that dynamic, just to_char(sysdate,'yyyy'))
    Help? Thanks

    Gents,
    Interestingly, Vikas, you helped me with something similar a ways back:
    Complex Detail Report Layout: Can it be done?
    When I read your request, the custom row template came immediately to mind. This has worked very well for me, and I am very thankful for your assistance.
    It seems to be the solution for which you seek.
    Petie
    P.S.
    One note; as we discussed in Re: Substitution String in Row Template order dependant the row template population is dependant upon the query sequence. As I have been modifying my application, I've had to play with the query that drives the row template to get new values to appear in the correct place.

  • APEX page displays correctly in Firefox but not in IE7 nor IE8

    I have an APEX 4.0 page which displays two columns of data. In Firefox, where the border for column one should end, it does. Then the column two data is displayed right next to column one (correctly). In IE, there is a gap of blank space between the columns, which makes it necessary to scroll over to see all the data (incorrect). I did find a post that seemed to address this very issue, however, the suggested fix did not solve the problem for me. The regions are defined as follows:
    Sequence 1 - Column 1 - Breadcrumbs region - Breadcrumb region template - Type = Breadcrumb
    Sequence 10 - Column 1 - Lot Information - Reports region - Type = HTML Text
    Sequence 10 - Column 2 - Burial - Reports region - Type = SQL Query
    Sequence 30 - Column 2 - Documents - Reports region - Type = SQL Query (updateable report)
    Sequence 40 - Column 2 - Upload Document - Reports region - Type = HTML Text
    With the exception of the breadcrumb region, all regions are set to Display Point = Page Template Body (3. items above region contect)
    I have tried a number of different combinations between the page template, display points, etc. and have tried different width settings in the html source, but have not been able to remove the gap between the columns.
    Does anyone know of a way to resolve this? If you need more information, please let me know. Thank you for any help you can provide.

    You could put all but the breadcrumb into a region/subregion setup...
    What theme in APEX are you using?
    Thank you,

  • Sort order inconsistent behavior

    There seems to be inconsistent behaviour when defining a default sort order sequence.
    Everything works as expected when the display sequence and the order in which the columns are defined in the query are the same but as soon as the display sequence is changed the default sort order doesn't work for the second column in the order sequence.
    I have put up an example at [apex.com|http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=36885:1]
    In report EMP the display sequence and query sequence are the same and the default sort on "Job" and "Hiredate" is correct working. Even when the user sorts on "Manager".
    The sort order sequence then becomes "Manager", "Job" and "Hiredate". As also descripted in the following Sorting on multiple columns
    And exactly the behaviour we are looking for.
    Report EMP2 is a copy of EMP with the only difference the order in which the columns are displayed
    Now the default sort order doesn't work as expected. The report is first ordered on "Job" but then on "Employee" instate of "Hiredate" as is defined. Interestingly "Employee" is the second column in the query.
    It seems that instate of the query_column_id the column_display_sequence is used in the order by. At least for the second column in the defined sort order sequence.
    This may also explain the behaviour mentioned with [derived columns and sort sequence|http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=1006429&#1006429]
    The display sequence in report EMP2 is where the wizard came up with.
    Nicolette

    Stew
    At the report attributes you can define the sort sequence of a column. When you do that initialy the report is sorted as you defined it. So in my example that is first by "Job"and within "Job" by "Hiredate". When the user sort explicit on an other column this column is put before the columns you have defined.
    So when the user clicks on "Manager" the sort order becomes "Manager", "Job", "Hiredate". When the user then sort on "Employee" the sort order becomes "Employee", "Job" an "Hiredate".
    This works when the order in which the columns appear in your query are the same as the order in which they are displayed.
    BUT as soon as the display order changes the sort sequence doesn't work anymore. Even worse is that also the initial sort sequence doesn't work for the second column any more. (I haven't tested for three or more columns)
    In the example I have put on apex.com in the second report the sort sequence of the report attributes is the same as in the first report. But the initial sort order that is actually done is on "Job" and "Employee" instate of "Job" and "Hiredate". Where "Hiredate" is the second column in the display sequence. But "Employee" is the second column in the query.
    So to really make use of the sort sequence you have to keep your display sequence equal to the order in witch they appear in the query. This isn't really practical.

  • HELP: VO Bind variable gets lost, VO passivation checked!

    JDEv 10.1.3.0.4 + Struts/ADF
    I have a VO with one bind variable "accountId", this VO is the "root master" of the hierarchy => not a detail of a link.
    I added a method in the VO (that is part of one AM only) to set the bind variable:
      WHERE CLAUSE:
    (Wevent.EVENT_ID = WeventDesign.EVENT_ID) AND (Wevent.ACCOUNT_ID = AccountOwner.ACCOUNT_ID) AND (Wevent.PHOTOGRAPHER_ACCOUNT_ID = AccountPhotoGrapher.ACCOUNT_ID) AND (Wevent.EVENT_STATUS BETWEEN 30 AND 80) AND (Wevent.ACCOUNT_ID = :0)
      Binding Style: Oracle Positional
      private Number accountId = null;
      private Object[] DEFAULT_VALUES = new Object[]{ Constants.NUMBER_ZERO };
      private static int NUM_DEFAULT_VALUES = DEFAULT_VALUES.length;
      public Row setAccountId(Number newAccountId)
        Row row = null;
        if (newAccountId == null)
        this.accountId = null;
        this.clearCache();
        System.out.println(getClass().getName()+".setAccountId no exeqry newAccountId == null");
        else
          this.accountId = newAccountId;
          row = this.getCurrentRow();
          if(row == null || row.getAttribute("AccountId") == null || !newAccountId.equals(row.getAttribute("AccountId")))
    // not good account events !!!!
          this.setWhereClauseParam(0,newAccountId);
          System.out.println(getClass().getName()+".setAccountId before exeqry newAccountId: "+newAccountId);
          this.executeQuery();
    //      System.out.println(getClass().getName()+".setAccountId after exeqry getRowCount(): "+this.getRowCount());
          row = this.first();
            if (row != null)
            System.out.println(getClass().getName()+".setAccountId after exeqry+first row.getAttribute(AccountId): "+row.getAttribute("AccountId"));
            else
            System.out.println(getClass().getName()+".setAccountId after exeqry+first row is null => no rows");
          else
          System.out.println(getClass().getName()+".setAccountId NO exeqry this.accountId: "+this.accountId+", newAccountId: "+newAccountId+" current is null? "+(this.getCurrentRow() == null));
          this.accountId = newAccountId;
          DEFAULT_VALUES[0] = newAccountId;
          System.out.println(getClass().getName()+".setAccountId this.accountId: "+this.accountId+", newAccountId: "+newAccountId+", DEFAULT_VALUES[0]: "+DEFAULT_VALUES[0]);
        return row;
    In the AMImpl class I added a service method:
      public Row prepareModelForEventAccountOwnerList(Number accountId)
        EventAccountOwnerListExtVOImpl eventAccountOwnerListExtVOImpl = this.getEventAccountOwnerListExtVO1();
        return eventAccountOwnerListExtVOImpl.setAccountId(accountId);
      }When the user logs in his accountId is retrieved and stored in the HttpSession.
    and the service method is called.
    Ok at this point.
    I have a Page that displays the view.
    In the class AccountEventsAction that extends PagingDataForwardAction I have following initializeModelForPage method.
      protected void initializeModelForPage(DataActionContext ctx)
        System.out.println(getClass().getName()+".initializeModelForPage BEGIN "+System.currentTimeMillis());
        WebAccountAM webAccountAM = (WebAccountAM) this.getApplicationModule(WebConstants.AM_WEBACCOUNT,ctx);
        if (webAccountAM == null)
         // return error
         System.out.println(getClass().getName()+".initializeModelForPage webAccountAM not found.");
        else
          UserContainer userContainer = this.getUserContainer(ctx);
          Row row = webAccountAM.prepareModelForEventAccountOwnerList(userContainer.getAccountId());
          if (row != null)
          System.out.println(getClass().getName()+".initializeModelForPage userContainer.getAccountId(): "+userContainer.getAccountId()+", EventId: "+row.getAttribute("EventId")+", current row key: "+row.getKey());
          else
          System.out.println(getClass().getName()+".initializeModelForPage userContainer.getAccountId(): "+userContainer.getAccountId()+", First row is null? "+(row == null));
          super.initializeModelForPage(ctx);
        }To my knowledge because this page is accessible only after login and the VO passivation state (+bind vars ..) is yes it shouldn't be necessary?
    FIRST PROBLEM:(non blocking)
    =============
    I noticed in my trace that the VO current row is null when the service method gets called in the initializeModelForPage binding method?
    So the query gets re-exceuted, is this normal??
    SECOND PROBLEM (blocking)
    ================
    At some point the Web app. the frameworks calls the executeQueryForCollection and an exception is thrown as if the bind variable was lost???

    More info:
    I added a trace in the executeQueryForCollection method of the VO.
    As I said before the binding var is set on login and in initializeModelForPage
    but when the executeQueryForCollection is called by framework later on in the action cycle, it is called without any parameters => bind variables = numUserParams: 0 ??
    trace extract
    com.photoswing.model.site.EventAccountOwnerListExtVOImpl.executeQueryForCollection this.accountId: null, numUserParams: 0, DEFAULT_VALUES[0]: 0
    I suppose that some code must be added so that my bind variables will be part of the passivation process.
    Can you help me with that?
    Thanks for your time.

    Yes Sir,
    You are right... Your service is not just $200 hundred, it is priceless. I have never been in programming. So I am learning. And as per as "exec immediate" is concerned I have used it(Problem with SQL query sequence and you can c in the previous posting(problem with it is if you have 5 grants and 5 view, what you do). One more thing, I was just thinking if we can developed some thing like sed command does(on linus). It has to just change some table_name and username in a file but the problem was it has to pass the variable to linux and then we have to connect to ssqlplus and then we ahve to again run. I was just thinking to have expert view.
    Is not this forum made for that?

  • Error Dummy items from Customizing have to be excluded @ Liquidity Planner

    Dear Experts,
    I want to try Liquidity Planner Calculation, using FLQAD,
    when in selection screen i aready insert :
    - Paying Company Code
    - 1st Derivation Step : Query Sequence
    - 1st Derivation Step : Exit Module
    - 2st Derivation Step : Buffer Item
    - 2st Derivation Step : Exit Module
    - Test Run
    - Detail List
    so when Execute / F8, i get error message "Dummy items from Customizing have to be excluded"
    please help me.
    thx you.

    You get this error if the liquidity items in FLQC2/FLQC13 and buffer item field of flqad selection screen are same.
    Buffer item refers to liquidity items assigned to vendor/customer recon accounts.
    To avoid this error donot use liquidity items from FLQC2/FLQC13 in FLQAD buffer item.

  • (LIQUIDITY PLANNER) Liquidity item determination in FLQAD

    Hello, gurus,
    I have a question regarding determination of liquidity items in the second step of derivation with transaction FLQAD.
    I am setting up a query in the system, which should analyze the accounting document segment of the vendor line in the invoice. I have tried different set up options and used both exit _INV and _REX, but they both use expence account as information line in the second step.
    Is there any possibility I can make the vendor line from the second step as information line? Because this line is the most informative in my document chain, and I need to define fields from this line in the query.
    Thanks in advance!
    Joaniuka

    Hi,
    Yes, I have tried with C type query sequence, but it only examines the vendor document from the first step, that is in the vendor-bank clearing account clearing document. And it does not derive any information I need from that document, because the vendor line in invoice has the fields I need to put on a querry - and invoice is only reached in the second step.

  • Archive apply to standby

    Hai all,
    I confihgured physical standby and it is working fine.. but before making a switch over, oracle recommends to run this query inorder to Make sure the standby database is current with redo application. On each database server, run this query to see the which logs have been sent / received and applied
    select sequence#, applied,
    to_char(first_time, ‘mm/dd/yy hh24:mi:ss’) first
    from v$archived_log
    order by first_time;
    Now when I execute this query,
    SEQUENCE# APP FIRST
    6508 NO 07/16/08 00:49:17
    6508 YES 07/16/08 00:49:17
    6509 NO 07/16/08 00:55:54
    6509 YES 07/16/08 00:55:54
    What does this indicate ?..
    Is this applied successfully to the standby site ?
    Thanks
    Kai

    You know,
    I like to run the following query to tell me where my standby is at:
    select * from V$dataguard_stats
    NAME                    VALUE                    UNIT TIME_COMPUTED
    apply finish time     +00 00:00:00.2      day(2) to second(1) interval 16-JUL-2008 14:05:49
    apply lag               +00 00:00:19          day(2) to second(0) interval 16-JUL-2008 14:05:49
    estimated startup time          36               second     16-JUL-2008 14:05:49
    standby has been open          N                         16-JUL-2008 14:05:49
    transport lag               +00 00:00:04     day(2) to second(0) interval 16-JUL-2008 14:05:49
    This gives you a good indication of upto what archived log you have applied.

  • FLQC9- Delete Flow Data (Logic behind)

    Hi,
    The  Liquidity Analyzer is taking a loong time to update. On analysis, I found out that FLQC9 can be used to delete the flow data and SAP recommends that delete old data and data no longer required from the Liquidity calculation tables.
    I would like to know what would get deleted by this transaction code and what if the User wants to view the old data. We are using update from bank Statement for Liquidity Analyzer.
    Can someone throw some light on this..
    Regards,
    SAPFICO

    Hi Miguel,
    Thanks for your reply. But I am unable to understand what you mean by the assignments made between the dummy cash flow items and the final cash flow items.
    We are using Bank Statement for Liquidity Analyzer. The FINSTA's are posted and based on Query's defined in Query Sequence, the liquidity item is updated against the line items.
    Now User wants the system performance to improve.. for that we proposed to use FLQC9 - Delete flow data. I wanted to understand what it would delete and which table?
    User also wants to keep historical data in the system..means even if we delete it temporarily, but later on if they want to see the old data, they should be able to generate the data again.. meaning populate the liquidity item again for the old data.
    Kindly let me know what and which table it would delete..and can the data be regenerated again after deletion..
    Regards,
    SAPFICO
