Query variant with exit variable on selection

Hello,
I have created a query with exit variable for Date. This date will be defauled to system date -1 using the exit code.
This variable is ready for input with default value. If user want to change the default value he can change it.
however when i save the variant for this query, the default value is not getting populated automatically.  The value of this field in variant is date on which the variant is created.
Is there ay way to make sure the variant will always pick up the value from Exit

Hi,
I am trying to create a variant from web template.
In web template, i am not getting this option of not saving value for calendar day.
I think this option is available only from RSRT.

  • Crystal Reports with BEx Query using Custom Exit Variable

    Hi,
We have BW BEx Query using Customer User Exit variable to derive  the Fiscal Week for Last Year (called it VAR2) based on another user input variable Current Fiscal Week (called it VAR1).
VAR2 is derived from VAR1 in CMOD via some codings and thus it DOES NOT have the "Variable is Ready for Input" flag ticked in the BEx. VAR1 is user input variable, so it has "Variable is Ready for Input" flag ticked in the BEx.
When we create a Crystal Reports with the BEx Query using variable VAR2, and when we run it we got an error message saying "Failed to execute query; '[]<java.lang.UnsupportedOperationException: No Selection State Support!ZP_MI_LYPUBWEEK>'. Redesign your query or contact the data source maintainer to solve the problem".  (note: ZP_MI_LYPUBWEEK is VAR2 in this case).
Could anyone please assist? Surely, CR supports BEx customer user exit variables like the above, right?. I also refer to the forum below as it seems to have a similar issue (except mine with an error message), but it does not provide a solution in it.

We tried that "mandatory" option and did not work either.
Anyway, SAP has now come back again saying it is something they will fix it in next release/version. We got a phone call from them and a reply below to our OSS.

  • Change customer exit variable in selections over Dropdownbox

    Hello Experts,
    we are on NW2004s, SP12.
I have a customer exit variable (0CALYEAR) in two columns. In the first column the customer exit variable and in the second column the customer exit variable with an offset -1.
Now I want to change the year in a dropdownbox. Under <=BW3.5 that was not possible, only over a how to paper.
I can fill the dropdownbox in the web template but when I change the year, it jumps back to the year selected by the customer exit. How can I change the variable in the new web application designer (2004s) during the navigation? Has any one experience with such a problem?

    Hallo Frank,
how can I change the variable values in the WAD?
The parameters of the variable: mandatory, customer exit, reference characteristic: 0calyear, single value, not ready for input.

  • Query Performance - Customer Exit Variable

    Hi All,
In the report I am using a customer exit variable on FiscalYear Period. When the user inputs a FiscalYear Period it gets the data for the previous 52 weeks. For ex. If the user inputs 052.2008, then it get the data from 001.2008 - 052.2008 (for 52 weeks).
Here the report takes a significant time to run. I do understand from the high data volume perspective. Here I could not depend much on the aggregates, as the input selection is dynamic.
Are there any ways to improve the performance of the query. If aggregates is a solution, then on what basis should I build the same.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi ,
You can use OLAP Cache....this will help you improve the performance of the query.
The OLAP cache is architected to store query result sets, and to give all users on an application server access to those result sets. If a user executes a query, the result set for that queryu2019s request can be stored in the OLAP cache. If that same query (or a derivative) is then executed by another user, the subsequent query request can be filled by accessing the result set already stored in the OLAP cache. In most cases, a query request filled from the OLAP cache is significantly faster than queries that receive their result set from database access.
Go to RSRT >> give the query name >> Click on Execute and Debug >> there uncheck the box " Do not use Cache".then execute....
Again execute the query without Cache........just check if it makes any difference.......
    Thanks and Regards,
    Debjani..

  • Problem with exit Variable in may BEx Analyzer Workbook

    Hello,
I have created a workbook. In this workbook I use the 0CMONTH variable. I always want to get the previous month. For that I have the variable 0CMONTH-1 inserted in the query at default values in the query designer by 0calmonth.
It will automatically deliver the previous month.
When I put this query in the Bex Excel Anayzer Workbook, then comes the following message:

  • Broadcast Setting with Cust. Exit Variables & Manually Entered Variables

I have a sales report with the following parameters:
    Week (defaulted via customer exit)
Sales Office (defaulted via customer exit)
Sales Group (defaulted via customer exit)
    Customer Number (not defaulted)
Based on information that is automatically determined when a user executes this report the Week, Sales Office & Sales Group automatically populate.  Customer is blank.
I would like to create a number (say 5) of broadcast settings to send user-specific data to members of a role.  In the settings I would like the first 3 parameters to default automatically but I would like to enter specific values of 5 customers.  For instance, users would receive data for their sales office & group for the prior week related to Customer 1, then in a separate email (from a separate setting) they will get their specific info for Customer 2, and so on.
My issue is I can either not create a variable assignment and then the query runs for ALL customers or I can create a variable assignment for a specific customer but then the values for the other 3 parameters are also saved and my Customer Exits do not work.
In R/3 or in BEX Analyzer I could create a variant and for the first 3 variables I would choose Save Field Without Values so that my Customer Exit would populate these fields.  Then I would enter a specific value for the 3rd variable.  I don't see a way to accomplish this same requirement with the Create Variable Assignment piece of the broadcaster.  Am I missing something?

    Hello Jonathan
have you fixed your problem meanwhile?
We are having a similar problem:
We would like to use the SAP exit feeded variable 0CMONTH (reference charateristic: 0CALMONTH) for broadcasting functionalities, based on a query.
0CMONTH itself has SAP-default setting under details' property "Variable is Ready for Input", flag active set.
If we select such query for broadcasting functions, creating some variants with characteristic variable 0CMONTH, how would these variants behave after the current month will change, changing to the next month?
    Example for 0CMONTH:
    Now: July 2008, 07.2008
    Next month: August 2008, 08.2008
Would the initial created and saved broadcaster variants also change the month-setting as it would do in the BEx area?
Or must the user change these variants each month again?
    Any reply is much appreciated.

  • Bex Exit variable with workbook

    Hi experts,
I've defined a query that uses an exit variable which select a specific range of customers.
When I execute the query the variable is populated with correct values.
Then I saved this query as workbook; but when I execute the workbook, the selection is not taken into account; it's as the exit is ignored.
When executing the workbook I 've got an information message as follow:
"The Can be changed in query navigation property has been set for variable VACLCONSID, characteristic 0BILLTOPRTY. However, the variable is used in the query in such a way, that the system is unable to apply this change-option"
But in my query definition for VACLCONSID, flag "can be changed in query navigation" is't checked.
    Moreover I can't debug exit ZXRSRU01 with a workbook.
    Any ideas
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Radha,
    thanks for your reply.
My exit variable depends on a customer variable which is filled during variables screen processing
User selects a period, and exit defines customers selection with this information
    I use i_step= 2 in exit ZXRSRU01
No other parameters are filled in the workbook by user

  • Problem with BW exit variable on range of dates

    Hi everyone:
I have a problem with exit variables in BW, the scenary is following:
I need to generate a ratio MTD (month to date, i mean, first day of the month to actual date), for this, I enter a date by keyboard, for example 31.12.2010 and BW must return the range 01.12.2010 - 31.12.2010. The problem is what BW returns: 31.12.2010 - 31.12.2010, i mean, repeats the same date entry by keyboard.
For this porpuse I have a variable of interval type called "ZCALDAY" on infoobjeto 0CALDAY, and  exit variable of interval type called "ZRANGE", the code in CMOD is the following:
    DATA: L_RANGE         TYPE RRS0_S_VAR_RANGE,
                L_P_RANGE   TYPE RRS0_S_VAR_RANGE,
                L_S_RANGE   TYPE RSR_S_RANGESID.
    when 'ZRANGE'.
         BREAK-POINT.
         IF I_STEP = 2.
           CLEAR l_s_range.
READ TABLE i_t_var_range INTO loc_var_range WITH KEY vnam = 'ZCALDAY'.
           CONCATENATE loc_var_range-low(6) '01' INTO l_s_range-low.
           l_s_range-high = loc_var_range-low.
           l_s_range-sign    = 'I'.
           l_s_range-opt     = 'BT'.
           APPEND l_s_range TO e_t_range.
        ENDIF.
I doing Something wrong with the variables definition or on the  code??
I hope you can help me....
    Best regards!!!!
    Cesar.

    Thanks!!
I think the problem is other, I check the RSRT transaction and the range is calculated ok, i mean, the range generated is 01.12.2010..31.12.2010.
But the query does not show the data corresponding. the query shows the values of the day 31.12.2010.
The interval are not restricting the key figure...
I used the variable exit "ZRANGE" on the key figure restriction and the variable ZCALDAY in the filters section.
Maybe, the variable definition is wrong (variable ZCALDAY and exit variable ZRANGE)
    Thanks!!!

  • Help needed in Customer exit variable

    Hi Experts,
We have a scenario as below.
User enters fiscal year period.Based on the fiscal year period, entire year will be selected.
    Row would contains
0fiscper3(Fiscal months from Jan to Dec)
Column contains Amount(Actual or Forecast)--There is a restricted keyfigure on amount. If value type=60 then forecast
and value type=10 then actual amount
If the user enters 002.2010 then it should give Actual values ie value type=10 for 001.2010 and 002.2010.For all values greater than 002.2010, it should give forecast values(value type=60)
    Report Format.
    Jan----
Actual Value(value type=10 in the column for amount)
    Feb----
Actual Value(value type=10 in the column for amount)
    Mar----
Forecast Value(value type=60 in the column for amount)
    Apr----
Forecast Value(value type=60 in the column for amount)

    Nov----
Forecast Value(value type=60 in the column for amount)
    Dec----
Forecast Value(value type=60 in the column for amount)
I know that i have to create a customer exit variable for value type
But in this scenario.the value for value type may change in each row based on fisper3(month).
How can i obtain such a scenario in the customer exit
    Your help will be appreciated.

Edited by: senoy laxman on Feb 15, 2010 6:42 AM

    Hi Senoy,
you have to create two customer exit variables for fiscal year period(0fiscper) as given below.
    1. for actual values (value type=10), coding in cmod such that showing values less than and equal to user input values.
    2. for forecasting values(value type=60,)coding such that showing values greating than user input values.
use the first varible in the first selction and the second varible in the second selection in the given below structure(use the structure in rows)
use the fiscal period user input varible in the third selection in the given structure below.
    structure
selection - (Actual)-restrict with value 20 and first customer exit variable .
selection -(Forecast)-restrict with value type 60 and second customer exit variable.
    Selection - 0fiscper
Add the key figure 0Amount in the columns or in rows(in the selection of second structure) as per your requirment.
    hope this helps you.

  • LOV(af:selectOneChoice) with bind variable in af:table

    Hi All,
I have a table where a column is defined as dropdown(af:selectOneChoice). The query for selectOneChoice has a bind variable which needs to be set as a value from the base view Object corresponding row.
    Suppose a table Employee
    EmpId EmpName EmpType Authorization
    101 John Temp No
The above table is created as af:table and 'Authorization' is implemented as dropdown(af:selectOneChoice) . The selectOneChoice has a query(AuthorizationLovVVO) with bind variable . For each row of af:table(EmployeeVO) , af:selectOneChoice query(AuthorizationLovVVO) requires
the corresponding row(EmployeeVO) 'EmpType' to be set as value of bind variable.
Can you please suggest how can we achieve this functionality.

I have checked the following post where it has been suggested to access the the current row value as groovy expression.
    groovy for bind variable
Suppose my AM name is 'TestAM' , i have tried the below expressions for value of bind variable but it does not work :
    1) adf.object.TestAM.findViewObject('EmployeeVO1').currentRow.EmpType
    2) adf.object.TestAMDataControl.findViewObject('EmployeeVO1').currentRow.EmpType
None of the above expressions work and i get the error while running the page as 'Variable NotesAM is not recognized.' / 'Variable NotesAMDataControl is not recognized.' .
Can you please suggest if we can achieve the functionality using this approach . Also let me know if i am missing something in the above expression.

  • Custome Exit Variable Not prepopulating Parameter of CRE Report

    Hi
I am using a customer exit varibale to pre populate a parameter in a Bex query I have created.  When I run the bex query the customer exit variable populates the parameter just as it is supposed to.  However when I use the bex query in Crystal Reports for enterprise the customer exit variable does not pre populate the parameter.  Is there something I need to do to make sure that CRE recognises the customer exit variable or does CRE not recognises them?  If it doesn't recognise them is it possible to create CRE level Customer Exit Variable?
    Many Thanks in advance
    Neil

    Hi Alun
Thanks but I'm in BW so Stored procedures are not really an option on this one.  I suppose my primary question is, is there a reason that Customer Exit Variable is not working as it is creating a lot of difficulties by not populating the parameters in the same way it does in the bex query I am using to develop my Crystal report.
    Thanks

  • Variable Selections in BEx Query Variants

I am trying to save a variant for a BEx query that uses a floating date range.  I want the date range to move with the calendar.  I r/3 this is done with the variable selection.  In BW 3.5, I don't see how this is possible.  I only see options for TVARVC which are user exit selections.  Can someone point me in the right direction.
    Regards,
    Kevin B

    Hi Kevin
Your requirment is that date range should move with calendar (ex. In first week , the date range should be from 1 to 7 of the current month & in  second week the date range should be from 1 to 15 of current month) ...if it is like this then you can go ahead with - create a variable and do the coding with sydatum (system date ) and embed the required logic. But if your requirement is completely random then you can not use this.
    Hope this helps

  • Problem with customer exit variable in BeX Query

    Hi All,
We have created a customer exit variable in a query and populated with few patterns in customer exit.
My query has to bring all the records where the address line is containg the patterns passed through customer exit. Here the query is not working as expected.
It is bringing the values where the address line is exactly same as the pattern and not bringing the records where the pattern is part of the address line.
For example: Pattern passed in customer exit = 'HOSPITAL'
The record where address line = 'HOSPITAL' is shown in the rpeort, where the record with address line = 'HOSPITAL ROAD' is not shown in the report.
I would appreciate your help on this.

            LOOP AT gt_pbuild INTO gs_pbuild.
              CONCATENATE '*' gs_pbuild-pbuild '*' into lv_pattern.
              ls_range-low = lv_pattern.
              ls_range-sign = lc_sign_i.

              CLEAR: ls_range,
                     lv_pattern.
            ENDLOOP.
          ENDIF.

  • RSCRM: Query date with customer exit variable

    Hi All,
Is there any way to run the RSCRM transaction with a query with a customer exit variable for a date characteristic?
The issue is that the query ran ok but the variable is not being updated when the RSCRM query is running with a background job or a process chain.
    Thanks in advance
    EV

I do not think you can select Customer Exit variable, if you see the type is selected to Char Value Variables and it is not editable.
It would be suggested to go for Customer Exit procesing type for your text variable.
    Cheers,
    Neel.

    1) What exactly we mean by Control Query - Any example will be very helpful
    2) As you mentioned, yes the user exist to be written will be for user-exit variable for dynamic period selection - An Example on how to create this will be helpful
    3) Once the above variable is created, what are the steps to include this variable in the Bex Query?
    4) Once all the queries to be used in dashboard are implemented with the exit variable, how to create a variant to be used in Broadcasting?
    5) How and where to configure the email recipients (to whom this dashboard will be sent via mail)?
    6) How to set up the BW broadcaster in BW 3.5 using the control query ?( My question is though we have to send the dashboard to the users, which has multiple queries, how a single control query with variant will help us).
