Question about SAP_R3_SelfServiceGenerics - JCo Connection

Gurus -
I have a question about configuring the JCo connection for SAP_R3_SelfServiceGenerics...
Should this JCo connection point to the R3-HR server, or the R3-Financials server?
It seems like some self-services are HR-related, while others are more financials related?
So, if you connect the SAP_R3_SelfServiceGenerics to the HR server, then how do Financials related requests get handled? Is there linkage between HR and Finance?
Or am I completely not understanding how Cross-Application Components work?
Also, do ISRs (Internet Service Requests) get handled through Self-Service?

Hi Eric,
my SAP release is 4.7 ext. set 1.10.
From chapter 5 on SAP note 1409608:
5 Configuration requirements
For productive SAP systems
- All SAP applications that are based on SAP NetWeaver '04 SR1 (kernel 6.40) and higher are supported for productive use as
long as you have implemented enhanced monitoring for virtualization. Check the requirements and minimum support
package levels mentioned in Note 1409604 for the activation of the enhanced monitoring.
If I understand SAP support only release NetWeaver '04 and higher, then from SAP Basis 6.40.
My SAP release have SAP Basis 6.20 so it does not supported.
Is it correct what I wrote above?
Thanks
Moreno

  • Question about Java MySQL connection

    Hi guys, greetings to y'all, me name is Ryan, I'm new 'round here.
    I have some questions, I have some application that I build with Java and using MSSQL Server 2000 as it's database, and now I want to try to use MySQL as it's database. I use MySQL server 5.0 and Navicat 8 for MySQL for the gateway and Win XP SP2 as my OS, what I want to know is, can you guys give me some connection string example for MySQL, for Java that is, I'm still learning in Java so sorry if I have some mistaken languages or code related words. Thanks a lot guys.
    Best Regards.

    Hi zahid, thanks for the reply, so if I have this code, like this one
    try
                                  Class.forName("sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver");
                                  Connection con;
                                  con=DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:odbc:FlightSource","","");
                                  stat2=con.prepareStatement("insert into Passenger_Table(vPassenger_Name,vPassenger_gender,iPassenger_Age,vPassenger_Destination,vPass_FlightClass,vPass_FlightType,vDate_of_Issue,vDate_of_Departure,vDate_Expire,vForm_Payment,Card_No,vTotal_Price)values(?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?)");
                                  stat2.setString(1,textNama.getText());
                                  stat2.setString(2,(String.valueOf(entry2)));
                                  stat2.setString(3,textUmur.getText());
                                  stat2.setString(4,textTujuan.getText());
                                  stat2.setString(5,(String)comboKelas.getSelectedItem());
                                  stat2.setString(6,(String)comboJenisKeberangkatan.getSelectedItem());
                                  stat2.setString(7,(String)comboTglTiket.getSelectedItem()+"/"+texttgltiket1.getText()+"/"+texttgltiket2.getText());
                                  stat2.setString(8,(String)comboTglBerangkat.getSelectedItem()+"/"+texttglberangkat1.getText()+"/"+texttglberangkat2.getText());
                                  stat2.setString(9,(String)comboTglKadaluwarsa.getSelectedItem()+"/"+texttglkadaluwarsa1.getText()+"/"+texttglkadaluwarsa2.getText());
                                  stat2.setString(10,(String)comboPayType.getSelectedItem());
                                  stat2.setString(11,textCardNo.getText());
                                  //stat2.setFloat(12,Float.parseFloat(textHarga.getText()));
                                  stat2.setString(12,textHarga.getText());
                                  stat2.executeUpdate();
                                  JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null, "The Data has successfully Booked " );
                             catch(Exception exception)
                                  JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null,"Error encountered while entering data in the database: "+exception);
                             }I just simply change the Class.forName{} line right ?
    What About the database name, considering in the code above I used ODBC (the ODBC name is FlightSource), so the database was configured when I create the ODBC, then how about MySQL, should I create ODBC too to configured the database that I wanna use ?

  • A question about tracing users' connections

    Dear all,
    I would like to know, whether there is a report in SAP
    providing information about users connection. What we
    are looking for in terms of information is:
    1) How many times each user connected to the system?
    (for example how many times during each day or each week)
    2) How long each session lasted?
    3) What standard transactions did each user execute during
    each connection?
    Is there any report providing such information?
    Thanks in advance,
    Kind Regards,
    Dariyoosh

    Hi Dariyoosh,
    1) How many times each user connected to the system?
    SM20 (Information security audit logs ) In USER Statistics and Terminal statistics , you can get enough information .
    ST03N
    In ST03N (Workload distirbution monitor ) you can  find ,what is the workload of individual users and which actions users performed ?
    2) How long each session lasted?
    In  tcode - SM20,you can find  detaild activites about users in Users statistics  field . Secondly For transcation details ,Please select Transactions statisitcs field .It
    will  provide  you enough information
    AL08 Shows you Tcodes using by user time ,external & internalsessions  .Also  with tcode  SM04  You can find list of users .There is USER TAB on top left hand side
    You can click on that and select  " Techincal Information , you will get informatoin   STATE , MODES ,MEMORY  COnsumption etc .
    3) What standard transactions did each user execute during
    each connection?
    Pleae use these tcodes :SM20, SM04(users overview) , AL08

  • Question about how to connect two solution manager

    Hello experts
    one of our clients wants to connect his SOLMAN to our SOLMAN, that way
    when they receive a case in his ICM we can monitor the case and respond
    It, if the situation requires or they ask for our help.
    Can you please tell me if theres a way to connect them and what is the
    best way to do that?
    Thanks for your help,
    Regards,

    You are going to connect a Solution Manager to another Solution Manager, so I think it is enough to use the RFC destination on the connection.
    I suppose you want to send a message from 7.0 to 7.1, so you may:
    In Solman 7.0 system:
    1. T-code SM59   > Define an RFC connection to 7.1 system;
    2. T-code ICTCONF   > Add an entry for the 7.1 service desk, specify
    the RFC Destination as the one you defined   > Activate -> Generate default value mapping (you may find the button on the top of ICTCONF).
    In Solman 7.1 system:
    1. T-code SM59   > Define an RFC connection to 7.0 system;
    2. T-code ICTCONF   > Add an entry for the 7.0 service desk, specify the RFC Destination as the one you defined   > Activate -> Generate default value mapping;
    3. Customize your own value mapping including the transaction type. You will find the details in:
        IMG -> SAP Solution Manager -> Capabilities (Optional)    -> Application Incident Management (Service Desk)    -> External Integration -> External Service Desk
    Most fields of SIVA and SMIV are the same (for example, priority) so you do not need to care about the value mapping if you do not have special requirement. However, some fields only exist in SIVA category, subject) and others only exist in SMIV (multilevel categories). You may need to implement your own code according to your requirement.
    Thanks

  • Question about Wi-Fi connection speed on Satellite L30

    Dear sirs,
    I have purchase a Satellite L30 the WiFi card is working fine but the connection speed is 54.0 mbps, i required 100 plus mbps, can you tell me if this is possible to upgrade the internal WiFi card of this laptop and can you suggest at suitable replacement if this is possible.
    Your faithfully,
    Neil Quinney

    Hello Neil
    I can not say for sure but I believe at the moment there is no info about compatible WLAN card. If you need precise info about this you must contact Authorized service partner in your country or your local dealer. They are responsible for the upgrade.
    Anyway I do not believe you will find compatible card for this low budget notebook model. Simplest solution for you is to buy suitable USB WLAN card. The installation is very simply and I do not believe you will have compatibility problems.
    Bye

  • Questions about the database connection

    hi all,
    I am developing a project with JDeveloper 10g and I created a database connection to my Oracle RAC database.
    However, whenever I start the project with the JDeveloper and I do a "netstat -an" with the command prompt window. I show there are over 100 connection ESTABLISHED to my database. I don't have any idea how this happens. The problem is since there are over 100 connection established, I couldn't run the project with the JDeveloper's embedded OC4J.
    Can anyone help me to fix this problem?

    I have set the Max connections to 30 in the connection-pool setting of my project in the Embedded OC4J Server Preferences, but it doesn't work.
    There are still over 100 connections to the database...

  • A question about creating a Connection pool that uses Oracle JDBC

    Dear all,
    I have an issue with creating a connection pool within a web application in order to be used by several servlets. I appreciate if you could kindly give me a hand.
    I'm using:
    Web server: Apache-tomcat: 6.0.18
    Oracle Database 11g Enterprise: 11.1.0.6.0 - Production
    Operating system: Linux (ubuntu 8.10)
    IDE: Sun Netbeans
    Oralce JDBC Drivers: 11.1.0.7.0-Production (ojdbc6.jar and orai18n.jar)
    JDK 1.6
    Usually, just for creating a connection to my database (without using a connection pool), I proceed in the following way:
    String dbURL = "jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:1521:database01";
    String username = "scott";
    String user_password = "tiger";
    String userSqlQuery = "SELECT * FROM mytable";
    Connection connection = DriverManager.getConnection (dbURL, username, user_password);
    Statement statement = connection.createStatement();
    statement.executeUpdate(query_text);This works pretty well allowing to communicate with my oracle database. By this method I have run several projects
    with different queries (SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE ,etc.) and each time it worked without any problem and
    returned the result of the query. Therefore I think that there is no problem with JDBC drivers
    However, when I want to create a connection pool, it seems that the lookup method cannot locate Oracle JDBC drivers. That is,
    try
         InitialContext ic = new InitialContext();
         Context envContext  = (Context)ic.lookup("java:/comp/env");
         dataSource = (DataSource)envContext.lookup("jdbc/oracle11gEnterprise");
           Connection connection = dataSource.getConnection();
    catch (Exception e)
         e.printStackTrace();
    }Just after calling dataSource.getConnection() the java.lang.NullPointerException is thrown.
    Any idea?
    Thanks in advance,
    And for your information, here are context.xml and web.xml files for my project
    Here is my context.xml

  • Question about java dataBase connectivity

    Hello,
    How could I get the name of a column from a table in dataBase ?
    In my code i have :
    ResultSet rss = selectTempo.executeQuery("SELECT LAST_INSERT_ID() AS LAST");
    if(rss.next()){
    firstColumn= rss.getInt("LAST");
    How could i get the name of LAST in my table ?

    You can probably use the ResultSetMetaData class:
    In you example it might go something like:
    ResultSet rss = selectTempo.executeQuery("SELECT LAST_INSERT_ID() AS LAST");
    ResultSetMetaData meta = rss.getMetaData();From there you can use the different methods that are available in the class. In you case, I think getColumnLabel() should do the trick.

  • JCo Connectivity

    I have a "behind the curtain" questions about the JCo connection. Some things are surprising for me. It did some R&D with Packetyzer (Network Analysis).
    a) When I add a connection to a pool, this takes some time (220ms), but I do not see any packets sent.
    JCO.addClientPool(SID, 10, PoolPerformance.login_params);
    //key of the pool / max.connections -> no network connectivity, but takes about 200ms
    b) If I create another client now, this takes almost no time. Client client = JCO.createClient(....)
    If I do not do the JCO.addClientPool before, it takes about 200ms
    => Conclusion:
    Somehow the first Client created initializes some kind of structure, not sending data yet. Guess it does some network binding.
    c) The first network traffic is visible when I create the function template IFunctionTemplate ftemplate = repository.getFunctionTemplate("RFC_SYSTEM_INFO");
    Questions:
    ========
    1) Is it, that the logon to SAP takes place in the moment when the client is first used (in my case at c)?
    2) Considering my observations, what is the use of pools anyway? Because a pool is - unlike in JDBC - not a bunch of existing established connections (because I do not see any network data in a). What is your experience with this?

    in my option the 200ms are the time jco requires to load the rfc libraries (dll´s on windows), but i´m not quite sure about this
    answer 1: looks like if the connection to sap takes places the first time a client is needed, but there will still be pooling, because if you get a connection through a pool JCO.getClient(POOL_NAME) and then release it back through JCO.releasClient (client) the connection won´t be closed (until the timeout has been reached), so the next time a connection is opened through the pool there is no need to do a logon for this connection any more.
    answer 2: there is a use for connection-pooling
    there will be bunch of existing connection, but it looks jco starts to open connections only if they are needed, and there are no open connections inside the pool. So for connections over a period of time the logon procedure will only be done once.
    Another use of pooling is the possibility to limit the number of concurrent connections -> useful to avoid performance problems in your backend sap system.
    have a look at the documenting (pdf) shipping with jco for more detailed information

  • K9N2 SLI Platinum - JPW2 connection essential? Also, question about diagLEDs

    I've been running a K9N2 SLI Platinum with a Phenom 9950BE and 2 Geforce 9800GT video cards for half a year now, running as stable as any computer could and I couldn't be happier. However, there's one thing that I've always had a question about - the molex connection on the board labeled JPW2. The manual says that JPW2 is "used to provide power to stable the operation of graphics card", but using the PCI-E connectors on the card appears to be adqeuate to running a stable system.
    In regards to this though, am I running the risk of an underpowering my motherboard not having JPW2 plugged in? The 24-pin and 8-pin power connectors on the board are of course plugged in and my concern is merely (hopefully!) academic at this point, but I'm just curious if not having power running through JPW2 would cause any problems down the line. My components are power hogs and I believe my power supply is up to it, but I'd love it if someone wiser than I could indulge my curiousity.
    Also, my diagnostic LEDS are reading something other than four green solid lights in normal operation (successful POST, Windows loaded and running). If you were to view the motherboard correctly mounted in the case, the order of the lights are: [G][R][R][G]. The manual refers to this as "BIOS Sign On - This will start showing information about logo, processor brand name, etc..." which is as incredibly unhelpful as it can be when it comes to this sort of thing. I state again that this doesn't effect normal operation - it's just another thing that I'm curious about.
    Thank you for helping me put my mind to rest!

  • Problems creating JCO Connections

    Hi experts,
    I have a question regarding the JCO Connection creation in Content Administrator.
    My first doubt is if it's necessary to create each JCO Connection for each backend system that I'll run RFC functions?
    If is it true, during Creation I must specify user and password. I have to specify the Backend User and Pass, right?
    Finally, could you explain me why there are several JCO connections created?
    When I create the JCO connection I will be able to invoque Backend RFC functions from, for example, a webdynpro?
    Kind Regards,
    Martin.

    Hi Martin,
    1. Yes, provided you want to use the RFC functionality.
    2. Yes, you would be giving the username and password for the metadata.
    Please refer to [Creating JCo Destinations|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/3a/3b1b40fcdd8f5ce10000000a155106/frameset.htm]
    3.Generally, when you install business packages like ESS MSS etc, there are a bunch of JCO which are installed as well, but all you would have to do is edit its properties and point them to the correct location.
    4. Yes, you can.

  • Question about personal hotspot. I know I can share GSM / 3G but I would like to know if my iPhone is connected to a wifi can I also share that wifi collection, through personal hotspot?

    Question about personal hotspot. I know I can share GSM / 3G but I would like to know if my iPhone is connected to a wifi can I also share that wifi collection, through personal hotspot? And if so can it be through wifi or does it have to be Bluetooth or USB?
    Sounds like an odd question but my phone will connect to BT Openzone so I want to share that with my iPad via personal hotspot. I could use 3G but then it comes off my data allowance and I don't want to have to buy a separate SIM for my iPad if I can avoid it. I can swap my sim from my phone, but that's a pain!
    Thanks

    No, unfortunately Personal Hotspot will only use your 3G plan.

  • Questions about Audigy 2 ZS connecti

    Hello,
    New to these forums, so bear with me. I'm considering purchasing an Audigy 2 ZS gamer card, and have some questions about the card and speaker setup. I've read the FAQ's in the forum, and they have been a big help, but I still have questions related specifically to my setup. Here's the system specs:
    AMD Athlon 64 3000+
    Asus K8V SE Deluxe
    VisionTek Radeon X800 XT PE
    Seagate 250 gig SATA HDD
    gig Crucial ram
    Antec P80 case
    Antec TruePower 430 ps
    Altec Lansing ADA885 digital speakers (awesome sound)
    Altec Lansing headset (cheap but works for voice and gaming)
    ADI AD980 onboard sound
    Windows XP Home
    . I currently am able to run both the speakers and headset at the same time by using the front panel audio outlets on the case (helps with the immersion in IL2 946). I would like to continue doing this(using front panel audio) with the new card. I've found several places that have an adapter cable for sale, http://www.x-tap.com/
    http://www.performance-pcs.com/catal...oducts_id=2700
    http://ask.americas.creative.com/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE?New,Kb=ww_english_add,U={B8F6030-DA4F-D3-94F4-00500463020E},Company={CEAE26D-879-4C00-AC9F-03BC258F7B70},d=3025443648,VARSET=ws:http://us.creative.com,case=5764
    The plug that I have has only 3 separators, not 4. Will this work with the Audigy 2? I don't have a link for this plug, unfortunately.
    4. I had been considering purchasing? a set of USB headphones, but I've been told that when you plug them in, the sound is cut off for the speakers. If there was a workaround for this, I might consider getting them. Then I wouldn't have to use the front panel audio or the connections on the card.
    5. I've heard of an issue with this particular set of speakers and the Audigy 2 card, particularly that the speakers were originally designed for a Dell system, and the wiring was phased differently than in other systems. Is this something to be concerned with, and if so, is there a workaround?
    I like to research a particular product before I buy it, in order to make an informed decision and avoid problems if possible. Sometimes it works, sometimes it don't
    Thanks in advance for the help.

    The inputs are easy to find and select:?
    Right-click the Mixer icon on the taskbar and select "Playback Devices".<
    There should open a new Window with the options of "Speakers" and "SPDIF"<
    With Speakers highlighted click the?"Properties" button on the lower?right corner<
    Go to the 4th tab (I believe it is "volume" in english, "Pegel" in german)<
    There you have your inputs!<
    Unmute Line-In and set its volume according to your desires.<
    Also remember that software designed for XP, that should control the Line-IN settings, (ie. Hauppauge WinTV or Dscaler) will be unable to do so in Vista, do to the architecture change. You can however enable "Compatibility Mode for Windows XP SP2" for these applications (right-click on their executable) and restore control of the inputs directly from the program. (You should however unmute it first as explained above). PS:? All Creative Software that came on the CD is incompatible to Vista. Only the included Audio Console should work as expected.Message Edited by alexs3d2 on 05-07-200707:3 PM
