Question about TabPane coding approach

I have a scene that contains a TabPane which contains two tabs.
I'd like to separate the handlers for each tab into its own controller.
Example
Tab A maps to Controller A
Tab B maps to Controller B
Is this possible using FXML?

Sure, just define the content of each tab in its own FXML file, and use <fx:include> to include them into the main file that contains the TabPane. Each individual file can have its own controller.

  • Newbie question about C coding and SDK for iPhone app

    Hello,
I am interested in trying to create an app. However, I have NO experience writing code I already have downloaded and installed the latest version of the SDK.
I know I have to learn: C, Objective C, and Cocoa.
I just picked up "C for Dummies" as a starting point. I figured the K&R might be a bit overwhelming to start with. Thing is, "C for Dummies" suggests doing some exercises in Text Edit and then using GCC to compile and test. But, then again, it has a copyright of 2004--long before Snow Leopard.
My question is, do I really need to do the exercises in Text Edit? Can I just use Xcode for entering the code and testing it? And, any suggestions for learning C and Xcode tutorials are greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!!

But, I really want to learn coding and not just take the easy route by using Xcode.
The simplification of using Xcode may have been a bit exaggerated throughout this thread. You will still learn how to program full-on by using Xcode -- it's not like you're taking a shortcut or anything. Well, technically speaking, you are, but Xcode is the expected way to develop on a Mac nowadays -- it's how Apple expects you to develop and how most people are doing so. Should you choose, you can taking a deeper dive into the inner workings of compiling and whatnot by using a text editor and the Terminal, but keep in mind that the extra complexities here could complicate the more important overall goal of learning the basics of how to program. There is absolutely nothing wrong with simply using Xcode for the novice part of your programming days. In fact, it's probably the path I would recommend. Some here might suggest that it is beneficial to learn the intricacies of compiling through the Terminal and whatnot early on, and they are right -- it is beneficial, but the benefits of taking a route (at least for the time being) that allows you to focus on the more pressing issues of learning how to program without having to delve too deeply can be just as beneficial. After all, it's not like you can't go back and learn how to compile via Terminal later on -- that's what I've done (or, rather, am in the process of doing).
I always thought Terminal was something not to mess with.
Not so much. Like most things in programming (or life, for that matter), the Terminal is something not to mess with +if you don't know what you're doing+. Basically, it breaks down like this. The GUI that Apple has created for you in Mac OS X (by GUI I mean "graphical user interface" -- the icons and windows and buttons and so forth that you use to perform tasks on your Mac -- in other words, everything outside the Terminal) is geared toward the common user who does not need to access advance aspects of the system's functionality. Consequently, it makes common tasks much simpler to perform, but in the process it hides some of the deeper levels of the system's functionality from the user. This is a good thing, since most people wouldn't know what to do with this functionality and would create problems for themselves if they did have easy access to it. However, for some users who know more about the inner workings of the operating system, there needs to be a way for them to access this functionality, so that they can do certain things (like accessing certain files and performing certain tasks) that they would not be able to do using the Mac OS X GUI -- that's what the Terminal is for. It allows the user to operate the system on a lower level. In other words, it allows you to get closer to the operating system. This is good in a way, because it allows you to perform tasks that you wouldn't otherwise be able to perform by giving you more control over the operating system, but it is also bad in a way, because it can allow you to mess up some of the deeper aspects of your system if you don't know what you are doing. Most people leave the Terminal alone for this reason, and because they have no need of it, but if you want to be a good developer, you're going to have to work with it sooner or later.
Now, with all that being said, it's not that easy to mess things up using the Terminal. It's not like your system's going to crash if you misspell a command. All in all, the Terminal is very forgiving, but it will do what you tell it to do, even if you tell it to kill itself, and it is for that reason that you need to know what you are telling it before you try to tell it something. If you understand what you are telling the system, than operating on a lower level and being closer to the operating system is completely safe.
The Mac OS X operating system is based around Unix, so when you are communicating more directly with the operating system by using the Terminal, you are interacting with its Unix core. For this reason, using the Terminal goes hand in hand with understanding Unix. So, if you're going to want to use the Terminal, then I recommend you get a good book on Unix to teach you the basics of Unix commands and shell programming and whatnot. Any book on Unix will do, since more or less everything you learn will be applicable to the Mac OS X's Terminal, but there are a few that are specifically directed to Mac OS X users, and that always makes things easier. Most of these books aren't updated to cover past Tiger, but this really doesn't matter (someone correct me if I'm wrong). A few examples are O'Reilly's "Learning Unix for Mac OS X Tiger" by Dave Taylor or Peachpit Press's "Unix for Mac OS X Tiger" by Matisse Enzer. Also, the book "Unix Programming Environment" by Kernighan and Pike is an excellent book on Unix, although fairly outdated, so I would highly recommend it, although I would recommend it as a supplement to another, more recent, Mac-based Unix book and not as your primary source for learning Unix. The skills you will acquire from these books will help you later if not sooner, so I recommend giving one of them a read at some point, whether you are planning on compiling using the Terminal right now or not.
Anyways, I hope this helped to clear some of this up for you, and please let us know if you have any further questions.

  • A simple question about bad coding

Hi, to cut a long story short i am coding a small section that changes the colour of a panel depending on the hour of the day, however i don't want to write 24 if statements to check what the hour is, now i have been coding all day and am having a bit of a mental block....can anybody think of another solution?
If not, would it be bad practice to have 24 if statements in a method to check such a trivial attribute?
Thanks for your help in advance

It depends on if there's a nice relationship between the condition and what is to be done depending on the condition. For instance, it would be bad to do this:
    int y;
    if (x == 0)
      y = 5;
    else if (x == 1)
      y = 10;
    else if (x == 2)
      y = 15;
    // etcbecause obviously there's a simple relationship: y = 5 * (x + 1)
I imagine in your case you could at least stick 24 values (colors or whatever) in an array, and simply index into that array, if there isn't a simple relationship like the above.

  • BDT - Question about the correct approach.

    Hi,
We are already live with SAP CRM but there is a new requirement to add a new checkbox to the BP transaction to be held against each business partner.
This flag is to be used to flag a Sold-To Party as a certain type of customer.
If I extend BUT000 by creating a new field on an append structure is this risky as we are live with CRM.
Or is a better approach to create a new Z table e.g. BP Number and Flag as the fields and enhance the BP transaction this way?
    Many Thanks
    David

    Hi David,
For your current requirement, it is better if you try adding new fields to Business Partner through Easy Enhancement Work bench, (transaction eewb ).
Using the Easy Enhancement Workbench (EEW) for business partner in SAP CRM you can easily extend the data model of business partner by new fields or tables and integrate them in the business processes.

  • CFC's - Question about coding guidelines

I have a question about the following section in the
    CF
    Coding guidelines
    quote:
    {cfmxroot}
---wwwroot/ » web-accessible .cfm pages and .cfc Web
    Services
    ---extensions/
--------components/ » tree for .cfc files
--------customtags/ » tree for .cfm custom tags
--------includes/ » tree for include files
---config/ » tree for configuration files
This implies that we have two Custom Tag Paths set up in the
    CFMX Administrator:
    {cfmxroot}/extensions/components/
    {cfmxroot}/extensions/customtags/
We also have mappings for the root of the includes tree (for
cfinclude) and the custom tags tree (for cfimport):
    /cfinclude » {cfmxroot}/extensions/includes/
    /customtags » {cfmxroot}/extensions/customtags/
    1. Why would you want to add both a custom tag path
    AND a mapping for " {cfmxroot}/extensions/customtags/"?
    2. The guidelines seems to imply you should use a custom tag
path for components, instead of a mapping. If the "components"
directory is already outside the webroot, then adding a CF mapping
shouldn't make it web accessible, right? So is there any benefit to
using a custom tag path versus a mapping?

It is up to you where you put your components and where you
put your custom tags. The standard way, as I know it, at least, is
to create a mapping for your cfc directory on the
Mappings page of the Coldfusion Administrator and to
register the path to your custom tag directory on the
Extensions/Custom Tag Paths page. In answer to your first
question, you will also need to create a mapping for a custom tag
directory if you intend to call tags using the template-attribute
    of cfmodule.
Coldfusion considers the directory-path that you register on
    the
Extensions/Custom Tag Paths page an absolute path. That is
what enables you to call a tag directly by name on any page of your
    application, for example,
    <cf_myCustomTag>.
One consequence is, if you stored a component myComp.cfc in
such a directory, you could instantiate it on any page simply by
    running
    <cfset myObj = createobject("component","myComp")>
However, this doesn't offer anything a mapping wouldn't. So,
in answer to the second question, I don't think one should use a
custom tag path for components. Mixing one's custom tags with one's
components only produces an oil-plus-water structure.

  • A question about UDA and Data-Forms

    Hi all,
I have a couple of questions about UDA. I am using Hyperion Planning 11.1.1.3m, and when I desing a Data-Form I would need to use the UDA I asigned for the Entity dimension: is that posiible?
The other question is, when creating a Substiution Variable in Essbase I use the function @UDA (+dimension+, "MemberA"), but when using this variable in the Data-Form, it does nothing at all(in fact, it is been detected as an error). Why is that happening?
    Thanks a lot

Use an attribute dimension to achieve what you are trying to do with UDA's in a data form. An attribute dimension will allow you to filter on members in the base dimension by a specific attribute the same way a UDA will. You can create the attribute dimension in the dimension editor in Planning by selecting the base dimension (Entity) and then select the custom attributes' button. Check the dba guide for a step-by-step approach.
With regards to the subvar, are you trying to add the function as a value of the subvar when you create it in EAS? If so, this is not allowed. What are you trying to do with the subvar on the form? Subvars are supported in data forms as part of the member selection for a dimension. For instance, you can set up a subvar called CurYear and set the value equal to FY11 for the Fiscal Year dimension. In the data form you can set the member selection for the Fiscal Year dimension to CurYear. When the user opens the form, the member FY11 is returned.

  • Question about Apple's new iPad retina requirement.

Apple recently made it a requirement that apps support all retina displays for both iPads and iPhones.
What acceptable options are available in AIR for supporting the iPad Retina display and still meet Apple's new requirement?
    Here's my situation :
I've been working on a universal app using AIR 3.6 that works well in all iOS resolutions other than for iPad retina (2048x1536).
When building native support for the iPad retina resolution, the app performance is very poor (due to having to animate and manipulate such large bitmaps). The coding approaches that I've used are supposed to be good on performance, so I doubt that I can optimize things to the point where the performance would be acceptable using the larger art assets.
In comparison, when I use an older version of AIR (3.2) and let the iOS compatibility mode automatically scale up the app to fill the 2048x1536 screen, the performace of the app is just fine (and looks almost identical).
Would using this type of approach cause an app to be rejected by Apple now?
It appears that AIR 3.6 added the ability to restrict just the the iPad high resolution (without restricting iPhones ) using :
    <requestedDisplayResolution excludeDevices="iPad3">high</requestedDisplayResolution>
It seems that this would solve my performance issue, but I'm not sure if Apple's new "retina support requirement" would result in my AIR app being rejected if I used this approach to disable iPad Retina support.
Does anyone know if Apple will now accept an app that was built with iPad retina support disabled through this approach?
Another option that I've tried that may be a workable solution is :
During launch when 2048x1536 resolution is detected, the app loads all of the 1024x768 art assets instead and then scales up the app by a factor of two (using scaleX = scaleY = 2).
The above seems to generate acceptable performance. The artworks looks a little blurrier and less crisp using this approach due to the scaling, but is acceptable to me personally. As this is technically using "standard" resolution art assets and scaling them up, would taking this approach get rejected by Apple?
I'm open to any other options/approaches/suggestions to adding iPad retina support that would allow me to address the performance issues on iPad retina and still allow my app to get approved by Apple. I'm just a little bit confused on what constitutes an app having "iPad Retina" support. Does the app just need to be compiled with a newer version of the iOS SDK to get through the approval process, or does this mean something else?
    Thanks.

Seems like you have two options, if you are already scaling stuff down after launching at a higher res why not make it an option. Have a setting for "High Resolution" and one for "High Performance" the difference would is one would run in Retina mode and one would run in standard mode so users with iPad4 and iPhone5 could probably use the High Res but iphone 4 users can switch to the High Performance setting.
The way I have dealt with it is design everything to a 1024 width and 640 height, this is standard Kindle Fire resolution but almost all devices crop the app in a way where all the key features fit on screen, I just had an app approved 2 days ago by Apple using this technique so basically I am running 1024 graphics on the retina screen, they look great (we are only humans and we can't make out every pixel despite what Apple thinks) and the performance is nice as well. I think they worry about apps being stretched for some reason when apple ups a 1024 app to a retina width using their software it looks horrible but if it is done by the developer it looks great. Download a non retina app and try it on a retina iPad or export your app for Standard resolution and check it out vs exporting for high.
I think you will be fine either way.

  • EBS 12.1.3: a few questions about cloning

    Hi,
We have EBS 12.1.3 on AIX 7.1.
A few questions about cloning from shared application tier environment to non-shared application tier environment. We have been following "Cloning Oracle Applications Release 12 with Rapid Clone [ID 406982.1]"
    Source environment (shared app tier):
    - Two active application nodes and LB
    - One active database and one passive database setup with Oracle Data Guard.
    - SSL termination at the load balancer
    - PCP implemented
    Target environment (non-shared app tier):
    - One active application node
    - One active database node
    - No SSL
    - No PCP
After the cloning was completed we noticed the following problems in the target system:
    1) Home page cannot be accessed as application tier $CONTEXT_FILE still contains "https" and ssl termination settings.
    Workaround:
Modify (with text editor) Application Tier $CONTEXT_FILE as follows.
    <webentryurlprotocol oa_var="s_webentryurlprotocol" customized="yes">http</webentryurlprotocol>
    <sslterminator oa_var="s_enable_sslterminator">#</sslterminator>
    <login_page oa_var="s_login_page" customized="yes">http://myhost.mydomain.com:8000/OA_HTML/AppsLogin</login_page>
    <externURL oa_var="s_external_url" customized="yes">http://myhost.mydomain.com:8000</externURL>
Run AutoConfig and start application tier.
Is there a better and supported solution for this?
    2) Concurrent managers do not work correctly as they have still old node names (used in PCP in the source system). Workaround used:
    1. Logon to EBS web GUI and remove all nodes from all concurrent managers.
    2. Shutdown application tier. Verify that all concurrent managers have been shutdown. If not, kill the processes manually
    3. As apps user run cmclean.sql
    4. Restart application tier
Is there a better solution for this?
    3) Database changes from ARCHIVELOG mode to nonarchivelog mode in the target system. Is there anyway to prevent this?
    4) Also, we would like to perform a full clone (app + db tiers) from production without shutting down the application. Is this possible? What would be the best documents to describe this? In Production, we have Oracle Data Guard setup with physical standby as per "Oracle Tech Note: Business Continuity for Oracle E-Business Release 12 Using Oracle 11g Physical Standby Database [ID 1070033.1]". This can be used when performing a hot clone for the database, right? What about the application tier? Steps described in 406982.1 include running AutoConfig in which application tier should be down. Does the application need to be down when running "Maintain Snapshot Information"?
    5) One final question (not related to cloning). Oracle Enterprise Manager console webUI has recently stopped working in IE8. E.g. https://myhost.mydomain.com:5501/em gives "Page cannot be displayed". This was working correctly last week. In Firefox, the same link is working fine. Any ideas how to fix this?
Thanks for your answers in advance.

What about the application tier? Steps described in 406982.1 include running AutoConfig in which application tier should be down. And, you do not need to shutdown the application to run "Maintain Snapshot Information".

If it is working from one browser, then it should not be an EM issue. Have you tried from a different client and see if this works? Have you changed any setting in your IE browser? Please make sure you add the EM URL to the trusted sites list.

  • Question About Photo Printers

Excuse me for asking a question about photo printers here, but I could not find a place in the Apple Discussions form for printers.
I'm thinking about buying an Epson R1900 printer since my primary selection criteria is the quality of glossy photographs.
However, I have been told that use of the R1900 for general purposes (with a "standard" printer setting and non-photo paper) will detract from the R1900's performance when it will be used for printing photos (with photo RPM printer settings on premium photo paper or other media). But I just do not know whether this is correct. I was planning to have only one printer and expecting to use the photo printer as my "general purpose" printer (text, documents etc.).
I would appreciate receiving advice/guidance from people who know about printers and/or people having with experience with the Epson R1900.
    Thanks for your help.

I use my photo printer in two ways.
For high quality prints I use the manufacturers Glossy paper and their expensive archival Quality inks for excellent results. More commonly though, I change out those ink cartridges and replace them with a cheaper water soluble ink bought online and use normal A4 copy paper for printing web pages and PDF documents.
This second practice is about 60% cheaper in ink and copy paper is only about 1 cent per sheet and is satisfactory for such documents.
The disadvantage is that is does require physically replacing one set of ink cartridges for the other, also if moving from basic to quality, I also do the inkhead alignment tests and adjustments to ensure that the output for glossy photos is going to be first rate.
I find this necessary to prevent waste of good pigments, yet it still allows the printer to be used for more mundane usage of printing documents. The cost of printers is heavily discounted, as the manufacturers recoup their cost from the sale of ink. Hence one needs to have this dual usage in place to get the best of both worlds.
This advice is not specific to one model photo printer, rather it is a general approach developed after spending too much money on good ink, printing web pages.

  • Basic questions about programing for J9 VM

I need to create a java application to run on a Pocket PC 2003 OS and I'm limited to using IBM's Websphere J9 Virtual Machine. I'm new to using java in this capacity and therefore have lots of questions which I'm guessing are pretty basic. Despite my best efforts, I've found very little to help me online. Below are a couple questions I have that I'm hoping someone can help me with. Even better, if you know of any resources that could help me with these and other questions, I'd love to have them. Thanks in advance.
    1. I'm using standard AWT for the GUI but I'm having problems getting frames, dialogs, etc., to come up in anything less then full screen. setSize() and resize() have no effect, even if I extend the frame and override the setMinimumSize, setPreferredSize, setMaximumSize methods. What do I need to do to get a child window to appear in something less than full screen?
    2. I'd like to be able to add menu's to the buttom toolbar (with the keyboard) but have no idea how I would add something to it. Can someone point me in the right direction?
    3. When my application gets an iconified event I go ahead and call a System.exit() to exit the application. This doesn't kill the java VM though, which continues to run in the background (taking up plenty of memory). If I run my application using the J9w.exe so that it runs without the console, then not only does the VM continue to run, but I have no way to stop it (the running program list can't see it). Since each time I run my application it starts a new VM, it only takes a couple of times before I'm out of memory and have to do a soft reset of the PDA to make things right. Can I kill the VM when I kill my application?
    4. I learn best by looking at example code, but have been unable to find any code people are running on J9. I have the GolfScoreTracker installed and running on my PDA, but the jar file contains only the classes. Since it's supposed to be a demo, I had hoped that the source code would be included, is that hoping too much or is the source code available somewhere? In addition, if you know of any applications out there with available source code that are known to run well on a PocketPC J9 environment I'd appreciate the link.

Hi there, I saw your questions, im currently developing a java pocket pc application as well and here's what i go so far:
AWT seem to be hard to use on pocket pc, instead i recommend that you use SWT, which is a technology developed by eclipse. It's already installed on the eclipse plugins, you just need to download the jar and dll files for the pocket pc. They are available at: http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/index.php
I assume that you already have the J9 working on your device. So you only need to copy the SWT.jar file and the swt-win32-3064.dll to the folder containing the .class files on your device.
Now, on your java IDE(im using eclipse) Add the SWT.jar library to your project which should be on C:/eclipse/plugins/org.eclipse.swt.win32_3.0.2/ws/win32/swt.jar or something like taht depending on your eclipse root.
Now you are ready to code some SWT, here is a sample program from Carolyn MacLeod, i modified a few things so it could run on the pocket pc but it's almost the same. Once you coded in eclipse run it, then copy the class file from your desktop to your device(There should be like 4 or 5 classes like sample.class, sample$1.class etc. copy all of them) where you put the jar and dll files(If program does not run you may try to rename the dll file for swt-win32-3050.dll instead of 3064.dll). Now after you have everything set up you need to create the lnk file in order to run the program. On your desktop create a new textfile and write the following on it:
    255#"\Archivos de Programa\J9\PPRO10\bin\j9w.exe" "-jcl:PPRO10" "-cp" "\My
    Documents\Java\swt.jar" ;\My Documents\Java" sample
Paths depend on your install, and the place where you put your classes and jar file. path for j9w is usually "\Program Files\J9\PPRO10\bin\j9w.exe", and the last word should be the classname.
Currently this form only displays an image on a canvas, click on the browse button and choose a pic and it will display on the canvas. Im trying to connect the form to an oracle database but no success yet on the device.
Hope it helps, if you have any questions about the code or something, and I know the answer, please feel free to ask.

  • Question about createXAQueueSession()

    Hi,
I have a question about createXAQueueSession() method in javax.jms.XAQueueConnection class.
Followings are from the the JMS 1.1 API:
    createQueueSession
    public QueueSession createQueueSession(boolean transacted,
    int acknowledgeMode)
    throws JMSException
    Creates an XAQueueSession object.
    Specified by:
    createQueueSession in interface QueueConnection
    Parameters:
    transacted - usage undefined
    acknowledgeMode - usage undefined
    Returns:
    a newly created XAQueueSession
    Throws:
JMSException - if the XAQueueConnection object fails to create an XA queue session due to some internal error.
The signature says it returns QueueSession but the javadoc says it returns XAQueueSession.
And XAQueueSession is not subclass of QueueSession.
Can anybody clarify the meaning of this method?
    Thnaks.
    yaluruns from www.tmaxsoft.com

I would say it means what you think it means and not what it says. It looks to me as if the programmer used the copy-and-paste antipattern when coding the two methods, and didn't fix the copied javadoc correctly.

  • Question about searching

    Hi all,
I'm considering Oracle BDBJE for a project that stores visited url's (data) based on a key of ip-address (4 bytes) combined with a date (long) to make the keys unique.
If want to search on date (ignore ip) do I have to make a secondary database that has the date of the visited url's as primary index?
Does a method like Cursor.getSearchKeyRange, if supplied with partial key, always search a the beginning of the key? Or could I use it to search for a date by only supplying the date-part of the key? Prop. in this case the bytes for the date will be mistaken for the bytes of the ip-address that comes first in the key.
    Thanks for any help.
    regards,
    Jeroen

    Hi Jeroen,
I'm not sure I have all of your data model yet, but I think you've given us enough for me to say you should likely try one or possibly two secondary databases.
If you have not already done so you should review the documentation on Secondary Indexes as found here:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/berkeley-db/je/GettingStartedGuide/indexes.html
Inserting/Modifying records is faster without using a secondary index. But the queries that you have identified would perform better with secondary indexes. But you should experiment with a few different approaches and compare that with your performance goals.
Also, if you have not already thought about this, I would consider using DPL to implement this, especially since you will be evaluating alternative database designs. You will find that the implementation time is faster and you can also make changes quickly.
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/berkeley-db/je/PersistenceAPI/BerkeleyDB-JE-Persistence-GSG.pdf
You know your data best, but based on the info you provided here are my thoughts/alternatives:
Primary Database key = IP/Date or Maybe Date/IP is better if the Secondary for IP address exists
data = URL plus other data not sure what
Secondary Database Key = URL (I left out date because you said it is not likely that the same URL will exist for multiple dates).
Possible Secondary Database Key = IP address (Which URL's were visited by IP X).
Again, I think you may want to try out something like this a model your inserts and also your query performance. Feel free to post further questions about any results you are getting as you move forward.
Also, if you have not already seen this I would keep this URL handy and consult with it before you post:

    I hope this helps!

  • Question about inputting data to a pivot table

    Hi,
I have 2 questions about using the ADF pivot table component (I would like it for data input).
    1. Is it possible to paste into multiple cells (i.e. using cut in Excel for example, and then pasting the cells into the pivot table) ?
    2. What is the recommended approach for the case where there is no data values (no rows on the database table)? For example, if I have regions, products, measures and time periods and then want to be able to select some regions and some products to enter new sales figures - and then create the rows on the database with save button, is there a recommended way to do this?
    (Jdeveloper version: 11.1.2.0.0)

Anybody able to help with this?

  • Question about Setting Window Title/the use of AVWindowSetTitle()

    Hi everyone,
I have a question about setting the title of the window in which the Acrobat viewer normally opens a PDF file.  The documentation states that AVWindowSetTitle() cannot be used in this case.  However, using it has worked with versions of Acrobat/Reader up until and including version 8.
Everything breaks down starting with Acrobat 9.
According to the documentation I am supposed to do the following: "To set the title of a window in which the Acrobat viewer opens a PDF file, you must replace AVDocOpenFromASFileWithParams() and pass the window title in tempTitle."
Unfortunately, there are 2 problems I have with this approach:
I do need to be able to change the document title on document Save, not only on document Open
I do not know what AVDocOpenFromASFileWithParams() implementation has to look like if I have to replace it using HFTReplaceEntry().
Is there a sample customized implementation of AVDocOpenFromASFileWithParams() somewhere that I could take a look at?
Is there a way to change a document Title inside Acrobat/Reader window after a Save operation?
    Thanks a million,
      Lana2010K

I am sorry.  I don't know how you tested this and came to conclusion that this works correctly in Acrobat X.
I just tested our Acrobat plug-in with a trial version of Acrobat X and this did not work.
When we open a file in Acrobat (doing it ourselves in the plug-in by adding another specialized open) we set the window title to something different from the default file name.  Then if a file gets edited and saved (File->Save), the window title gets reset to the file name. In the PDDocDidSave callback we call AVWindowSetTitle() to set it back to a more descriptive window title we need.  This has worked up until and including Acrobat 8, but does not work in either version 9.0 or 10.0.
Also, I just modified the plug-in code to always change the Window Title of every document (even if opened through native File->Open) on document Save.  It does not work.
         Please help,
