Question Regarding Unicode Checks
Hi Abapers,
What is Need of Transaction:UCCODE, what are the things which i need to check after giving the program name , and executing , what sholud be the out come ... negative means what will happen....
positive means what will happen.....
With Regards
Bhaskar Rao.M
Hi,
Transaction code is UCCHECK.
ABAP Unicode Scan Tool UCCHECK
You can use transaction UCCHECK to examine a Unicode program set for syntax errors without having to set the program attribute "Unicode checks active" for every individual program. From the list of Unicode syntax errors, you can go directly to the affected programs and remove the errors. It is also possible to automatically create transport requests and set the Unicode program attribute for a program set.
Some application-specific checks, which draw your attention to program points that are not Unicode-compatible, are also integrated.
Selection of Objects:
The program objects can be selected according to object name, object type, author (TADIR), package, and original system. For the Unicode syntax check, only object types for which an independent syntax check can be carried out are appropriate. The following object types are possibilities:
PROG Report
CLAS Class
FUGR Function groups
FUGX Function group (with customer include, customer area)
FUGS Function group (with customer include, SAP area)
LDBA Logical Database
CNTX Context
TYPE Type pool
INTF Interface
Only Examine Programs with Non-Activated Unicode Flag
By default, the system only displays program objects that have not yet set the Unicode attribute. If you want to use UCCHECK to process program objects that have already set the attribute, you can deactivate this option.
Only Objects with TADIR Entry
By default, the system only displays program objects with a TADIR entry. If you want to examine programs that don't have a TADIR entry, for example locally generated programs without a package, you can deactivate this option.
Exclude Packages $*
By default, the system does not display program objects that are in a local, non-transportable package. If you want to examine programs that are in such a package, you can deactivate this option.
Also Examine Modified SAP Programs
By deafult, SAP programs are not checked in customer systems. If you want to check SAP programs that were modified in customer systems (see transaction SE95), you can activate this option.
Maximum Number of Programs:
To avoid timeouts or unexpectedly long waiting times, the maximum number of program objects is preset to 50. If you want to examine more objects, you must increase the maximum number or run a SAMT scan (general program set processing). The latter also has the advantage that the data is stored persistently. Proceed as follows:
- Call transaction SAMT
- Create task with program RSUNISCAN_FINAL, subroutine SAMT_SEARCH
For further information refer to documentation for transaction SAMT.
Displaying Points that Cannot Be Analyzed Statically
If you choose this option, you get an overview of the program points, where a static check for Unicode syntax errors is not possible. This can be the case if, for example, parameters or field symbols are not typed or you are accessing a field or structure with variable length/offset. At these points the system only tests at runtime whether the code is sufficient for the stricter Unicode tests. If possible, you should assign types to the variables used, otherwise you must check runtime behavior after the Unicode attribute has been set.
To be able to differentiate between your own and foreign code (for example when using standard includes or generated includes), there is a selection option for the includes to be displayed. By default, the system excludes the standard includes of the view maintenance LSVIM* from the display, because they cause a large number of messages that are not relevant for the Unicode conversion. It is recommended that you also exclude the generated function group-specific includes of the view maintenance (usually L<function group name>F00 and L<function group name>I00) from the display.
Similarly to the process in the extended syntax check, you can hide the warning using the pseudo comment ("#EC *).
Applikation-Specific Checks
These checks indicate program points that represent a public interface but are not Unicode-compatible. Under Unicode, the corresponding interfaces change according to the referenced documentation and must be adapted appropriately.
View Maintenance
Parts of the view maintenance generated in older releases are not Unicode-compatible. The relevant parts can be regenerated with a service report.
UPLOAD/DOWNLOAD
The function modules UPLOAD, DOWNLOAD or WS_UPLOAD and WS_DOWNLOAD are obsolete and cannot run under Unicode. Refer to the documentation for these modules to find out which routines serve as replacements.

Sruthi

HI everybody
I have the problem to replace the old TRANSLATE-command with CL_ABAP_CONV_X2X_CE.
Before the code was like:
TRANSLATE NAMEN FROM CODE PAGE '1800' TO CODE PAGE '9011'.(in 4.7EE)
Under unicode the translate statement is not allowed for changing data with codepages.
SAP is writing in the onlinedocu that there is the class cl_abap_conv_x2x_ce. I've tried this class with all the methods but couldnt get any idea. I dont know which method to use and how in ECC 6.0.
Has anyone an idea?
Please help.
Regards,
Srinivas Rao
[email protected]HI,
There is an alternative FM 'SCP_TRANSLATE_CHARS_46 which functions similar to TRANSLATE to CODE PAGE statement.
Please refer SAP NOTE 78076

Regarding updating unicode check flag to all z* programs at once
Hi all,
We are upgrading from 4.7 to ecc 6.0 ,
we have created one pilot server where we have installed ecc 6.0 and all prduction data is copied on it .
OUR basis team has done that process and it is done with unicode check active ,
But all Z programs such as few customs programs are still non-unicode as they are old programs so want
to update unicode check flag which is pressent in attributes of program .
MANUALly you can do for each program and activate that i know ,but how to do it all at once .
Because when we Excecute UCCheck we get all programs which are nonunicode , in which it shows that programs The system found no Unicode syntax errors . whichneeds to be just do unicode check flag active and activate the program .
How that can be done at once all .
Regards
Deepak.Hi ,
My problem is solved ....
i found that after executing UCCHECK transaction code ,in display you will find one button on rigth side
"set unicode attribute" . after selecting no of programs at once we can press that butoon .
The Unicode flag is set for the selected programs. The programs are
written into interactively selectable transport requests and generated.
You must later release the transport requests.
I hope this will be helpfull to all.

Question regarding homehub and Open reach router -...
Hi all,
I had infinity installed earlier this month and am happy with it so far. I do have a few questions regarding the service and hardware though.
I run both my BT openreach router and BT Home hub from the same power socket. The problem is, if I turn the plug on so both the Homehub and Openreach Router start up at the same time, the home hub will never get an Internet connection from the router. To solve this I have to turn the BT home hub on first and leave it for a minute, then start the router up and it all works fine. I'm just curious if this is the norm or do I have some faulty hardware?
Secondly, I appreciate the estimated speed BT quote isn't always accurate, I was quoted 49mbits down but received 38mbits down - Which I was happy with. Recently though it has dropped to 30. I am worried this might continue to drop over time. and as of present I am 20mbits down on the estimate . For the record 30mbits is actually fine and probably more than I would ever need. If I could boost it some how though I would be interested to hear from you.
Thanks, .Just a clarification: the two boxes are the HomeHub (router, black) and the modem (white). The HomeHub has its own power switch, the modem doesn't.
There is something wrong if the HomeHub needs to be turned on before the modem. As others have said, in general best to leave the modem on all the time. You should be able to connect them up in any order, or together. (For example, I recently tripped the mains cutout, and when I restored power the modem and HomeHub went on together and everything was ok).
Check if the router can connect/disconnect from the broadband using the web interface. Leaving the modem and HomeHub on all the time, go to http://192.168.1.254/ on a browser on a connected computer, and see whether the Connect/Disconnect button works. -
Question regarding Dashboard and column prompt
My question regarding Dashboard and column prompt:
1) Dashboard prompt usually work with only for columns which are in subject area. In my report I've created some of the columns which are based on other columns. Like I've daysNumber column that is based on two other columns, as it calculates the difference of two dates. When I create dashboard prompt I can't find this column there. I need to make a prompt on this column.
2)For one of the column I've only two values 1 and 0. When I create prompt for this column, is it possible that in drop down list It shows 'Yes' for 1 and 'No' for 0 and still filter the request??Hi Toony,...
I think there was another way of doing this...
In the dashboard prompt go to Show option > select SQL Results from dropdown.
There you need to write your Logical SQL like...
SELECT CASE WHEN 1=0 THEN PERIODS.YEAR ELSE difference of date functionality END FROM SubjectAreaName
Here.. Periods.Year is the column which is already exists in repository's presentation layer..
and difference of date functionality is the code or formula of column which you want to show in drop-down...
Also write the CASE WHEN 1=0 THEN PERIODS.YEAR ELSE difference of date functionality END code in fx of that prompt.
I think it helps you in doing this..
Just check and inform me if it works...
Thanks & Regards

Questions regarding Outlook Web App, Remote Desktop, Remote Web Access and VPN Access
Hi there,
I want to ask a series of questions regarding Outlook Web App, Remote Desktop, Remote Web Access and VPN access and was hoping whether you could help me. Below are my questions to ask you.
Outlook Web App - What do I need to configure in order to get my Exchange account to work with the OWA app on my iPhone? Is Office 360 required on the server that hosts Outlook Web App in our organisation? When I configure the settings and
connect I get the following message "couldn't connect - We couldn't connect to the server. Check your information and make sure it's correct." I can connect with other devices using Outlook Web App.
Remote Desktop - What do I need to configure in order to connect to my computer at work using Remote Desktop on my Windows Phone? When I configure the settings and connect I get the following message "Connection error - We couldn't connect
to the remote PC. Make sure the PC is turned on and connected to the network, and that remote access is enabled. Inquiring minds may find this error code helpful: 0x204" I can connect with other devices using Remote Desktop. There are currently no
RD Server settings in the Remote Desktop app on the Windows Phone and the only way I'm to connect to my PC at work is via Remote Desktop and not to be confused with the one by Microsoft, however the app is on a trial basis and times out every 5 minutes and
can only be used once every hour unless I purchased the app for £2.99 off the App Store but would ideally like to use the Microsoft Remote Desktop app though.
Remote Web Access - What do I need to configure in order to get Remote Web Access on my Windows Phone using a URL? When I log in using a URL I get the following message "There is a problem with this Web page. Please contact the person who manages
the server" I can connect with other devices using Remote Web Access. Also how do you enable the background option for Remote Web Access? I know how to do this in Remote Desktop but not in Remote Web Access. Remote Web Access works on PCs regardless
being onsite and offsite and on my iPhone, the same issue also occurs with my Nokia 5230s regardless of whether I'm using Opera Mobile or Mini or the latest Nokia Browser.
VPN access - How do you configure VPN access on a Windows Phone using VPN? I cannot find the protocols PPTP, L2TP, SSTP and IPsec in order to configure VPN access on the Windows Phone apart from IKEv2.
Many thanks,
RocknRollTimAny help would be much appreciated.
Kind regards,

Hi all,
I got one basic question regarding SSIS 2010 Package where source is Microsoft Excel 97-2005. I wanted to know How this package works in production where there is no Microsoft office or Excel driver installed. To check that there is excel driver installed
or not, I followed steps: Start-->Administrative Tools--> Data Sources(ODBC)-->Drivers and I found only 2 drivers one is SQL Server and another one is SQL Server Native Client 11.0.
Windows edition is Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise, Service Pack-1 and System type is 64-bit Operating System.
We are running this package from SQL Server Agent and using 32-bit (\\Machine_Name\d$\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\110\DTS\Binn\DTExec.exe /FILE "\\Machine_Name\d$\ Folder_Name\EtL.dtsx" /CONFIGFILE "\\Machine_Name\d$\Folder_Name\Config.dtsConfig"
/MAXCONCURRENT " -1 " /CHECKPOINTING OFF /REPORTING E) to run this package. I opened the package and tried to find out what connection we have used and found that we have used "Excel Connection Manager" and ConnectionString=Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data
Source=F:\Fares.xls;Extended Properties="EXCEL 8.0;HDR=YES"; and source is ‘Excel Source’
I discussed with my DBA and He said that SSIS is having inbuilt Excel driver but I am not convinced.
Could anyone please clear my confusion/doubt?
I have gone through various links but my doubt is still not clear.

How Can I Get a List of the ODBC Drivers that are Installed on a Computer?

Thanks Shiven:) If Answer is Helpful, Please VoteHi S Kumar Dubey,
In SSIS, the Excel Source and Excel Destination natively use the Microsoft Jet 4.0 OLE DB Provider which is installed by SQL Server. The Microsoft Jet 4.0 OLE DB Provider deals with .xls files created by Excel 97-2003. To deal with .xlsx files created by
Excel 2007, we need the Microsoft ACE OLEDB Provider. SQL Server doesn’t install the Microsoft ACE OLEDB Provider, to get it we can install the
2007 Office System Driver: Data Connectivity Components or
Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 Redistributable or Microsoft Office suit.
The drivers listed in the ODBC Data Source Administrator are ODBC drivers not OLEDB drivers, therefore, the Excel Source/Destination in SSIS won’t use the ODBC driver for Excel listed in it by default. On a 64-bit Windows platform, there are two versions
of ODBC Data Source Administrator. The 64-bit ODBC Data Source Administrator is C:\Windows\System32\odbcad32.exe, while the 32-bit one is C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe. The original 32-bit and 64-bit ODBC drivers are installed by the Windows operating system.
By default, there are multiple 32-bit ODBC drivers and fewer 64-bit ODBC drivers installed on a 64-bit platform. To get more ODBC drivers, we can install the 2007 Office System Driver: Data Connectivity Components or Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 Redistributable.
Besides, please note that 2007 Office System Driver: Data Connectivity Components only install 32-bit ODBC and OLEDB drivers because it only has 32-bit version, but the Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 Redistributable has both 32- bit version and 64-bit
version.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

Questions regarding creation of vendor in different purchase organisation
Hi abap gurus .
i have few questions regarding data transfers .
1) while creating vendor , vendor is specific to company code and vendor can be present in different purchasing organisations within the same company code if the purchasing organisation is present at plant level .my client has vendor in different purchasing org. how the handle the above situatuion .
2) i had few error records while uploading MM01 , how to download error records , i was using lsmw with predefined programmes .
3) For few applications there are no predefined programmes , no i will have to chose either predefined BAPI or IDOCS . which is better to go with . i found that BAPI and IDOCS have same predefined structures , so what is the difference between both of them .Hi,
1. Create a BDC program with Pur orgn as a Parameter on the selection screen
so run the same BDC program for different Put organisations so that the vendors
are created in different Pur orgns.
2. Check the Action Log in LSMW and see
3.see the doc
BAPI - BAPIs (Business Application Programming Interfaces) are the standard SAP interfaces. They play an important role in the technical integration and in the exchange of business data between SAP components, and between SAP and non-SAP components. BAPIs enable you to integrate these components and are therefore an important part of developing integration scenarios where multiple components are connected to each other, either on a local network or on the Internet.
BAPIs allow integration at the business level, not the technical level. This provides for greater stability of the linkage and independence from the underlying communication technology.
LSMW- No ABAP effort are required for the SAP data migration. However, effort are required to map the data into the structure according to the pre-determined format as specified by the pre-written ABAP upload program of the LSMW.
The Legacy System Migration Workbench (LSMW) is a tool recommended by SAP that you can use to transfer data once only or periodically from legacy systems into an R/3 System.
More and more medium-sized firms are implementing SAP solutions, and many of them have their legacy data in desktop programs. In this case, the data is exported in a format that can be read by PC spreadsheet systems. As a result, the data transfer is mere child's play: Simply enter the field names in the first line of the table, and the LSM Workbench's import routine automatically generates the input file for your conversion program.
The LSM Workbench lets you check the data for migration against the current settings of your customizing. The check is performed after the data migration, but before the update in your database.
So although it was designed for uploading of legacy data it is not restricted to this use.
We use it for mass changes, i.e. uploading new/replacement data and it is great, but there are limits on its functionality, depending on the complexity of the transaction you are trying to replicate.
The SAP transaction code is 'LSMW' for SAP version 4.6x.
Check your procedure using this Links.

I have read all the questions regarding the "Can't send photo using iMessage".
I have read all the questions regarding the "Can't send photo using iMessage". I followed everything and check everything that was in it. It's still the same. I am still not able to send a photo. It started happening last week. It was fine before that. There is no error message.
It will try to send but it will get stuck just before it sends
and the red ! will appear with the "Not Delivered" status.
When i tap on the !, it just says "This iMessage was not delived".
No other message or photo is sending as the same time as the photo.
I did reset it, I checked the email address, removed it as well. Turned it off then back on. Signed out and signed back in. Wi-Fi strength is very good. iOS is 6.0.1. I checked for updates, it is up-to-date I also checked a link http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2755. It did not help at all.
What's wrong?!?!?!?!It is not a matter of reconsidering the decision. There are unsolveable technical problems with trying to run a program such as Firefox on Blackberry OS. We would need Blackberry to distribute a tool similar to Android's NDK to run on Blackberries.

Some questions regarding CO-PA
Hello Experts,
I have some questions regarding de COPA module:
1-Where can i find wich G/L accounts are assigned to a especific condition type? Is there any transaction where i can check the g/l accounts for the condition types?
2-I heard that the condition type VPRS is statistical, can anyone explain me this concept?..wich accounts are assigned to this condition type?
3-Does anyone has a list of the most relevat transactions for COPA? especially regarding the value flows and the closing.
Thnak you for your support!
Leandro.Hi,
a) VKOA transaction
b) try reading this one: http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_04/helpdata/EN/40/c52df80d1e11d2b5cf0000e82de856/frameset.htm Statistical means that the value in the CO-PA document for VPRS is also updated (truly) in other CO component. For example, revenue could be assigned truly to CO-PA segment and statistically to, let's say, cost centre. With material costs - it's the opposite.
c) most of the data is flowing to CO-PA from other modules. However, just go to the standard menu: the transactions for CO-PA are not so many.

Isn't unicode check defaulted in ECC 6.0 ?
I see a checkbox called unicode check box in the attributes when I create the ABAP program. This check is to make sure that during sytanx check the system will perform unicode check.
Now, I had an assumption that this check box is used only when you are executing programs on lower level of SAP like SAP 4.6C or 4.7 to ensure that programs are checked for unicode check.
But, I see that in ECC 6.0 also if you don't use this check box the system will bypass the unicode check. I thought that in ECC 6.0 , unicode check is done by default, but it does not sound like that .
Can someone throw some light on this ?
Regards,
Rajesh.Hello Rajesh
I do not think so. You could do the following test on your system (Unicode or non-Unicode?):
Write a simple ABAP report and try move data between a structured and an unstructured variable, e.g.:
DATA: gd_string TYPE string. " unstructured, C-container
DATA: gs_kna1 TYPE kna1.
SELECT SINGLE * FROM kna1 INTO gs_kna1.
gd_string = gs_kna1. " should give Unicode error -> use instead cl_abap_container_utilities class

Question Regarding Mesh with 3702 and non AC ap´s
Hello!
quick question regarding MESH deployments with 2 different sorts of AP´s: AC and non-AC modells: If my 3702i is my root AP´s, and 3602i my MAP - will AC still work in 80Mhz, or will I have to switch to 40mhz (and thus crippling (???) AC performance?)
Not 100% sure on this... I *think* it should still work for the normal 802.11n connection, but I´m not sure if the 80mhz channel width (needed??) for AC, will cause the non-ac 3602i to be stranded?
Thanks alot for your insight!Currently, my network DHCP server is a software based DHCP server. In reading over your post if I understood correctly it sounds like the managed switch would have its own hardware based DHCP server to assign IP addresses to those clients identified on the "external" VLAN. Did I understand that correctly or did misread something?
DHCP server will be software based, even though you defined it on your switch, it is DHCP service running on its OS.
I am configuring this setup for a small business application and will need to purchase a managed switch with 16 or 24 ports. Do you have any recommendations on a particular managed switch that will handle the VLAN configuration and include POE while keeping costs in mind.
In this forum, most of us discussed about Cisco enterprise grade wireless. Here is 2960X series switch detail, if you are interested
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/switches/catalyst-2960-x-series-switches/index.html
You may need to check the pricing with your Cisco account manager or from a Cisco partner.

Question regarding Inheritance.Please HELP
A question regarding Inheritance
Look at the following code:
class Tree{}
class Pine extends Tree{}
class Oak extends Tree{}
public class Forest{
public static void main(String args[]){
Tree tree = new Pine();
if( tree instanceof Pine )
System.out.println( "Pine" );
if( tree instanceof Tree )
System.out.println( "Tree" );
if( tree instanceof Oak )
System.out.println( "Oak" );
else System.out.println( "Oops" );
}If I run this,I get the output of
Pine
Oak
Oops
My question is:
How can Tree be an instance of Pine.? Instead Pine is an instance of Tree isnt it?The "instanceof" operator checks whether an object is an instance of a class. The object you have is an instance of the class Pine because you created it with "new Pine()," and "instanceof" only confirms this fact: "yes, it's a pine."
If you changed "new Pine()" to "new Tree()" or "new Oak()" you would get different output because then the object you create is not an instance of Pine anymore.
If you wonder about the variable type, it doesn't matter, you could have written "Object tree = new Pine()" and get the same result. -
Question regarding Polling data from database using DB Adapters in BPEL
Hi,
I have the following question regarding Polling data from database using DB Adapters in BPEL -
If I am selecting data from multiple tables/view to ultimately generate hierarchical xml document, is there a way that I specify polling all of these tables/views. Is polling limited only to one table/view?
Thanks
RaviHi Ravi,
your question seems to have been answered for the question of polling a set of tables with one as the root, and getting back a hierarchical xml representing multiple related tables.
However you can also poll for changes to both the root table and its related tables. Not sure if this was your question or the one already answered. If the former please check out the sample

Hi,
I have used this stmt (DESCRIBE FIELD GT_TLINE LENGTH fle1 )
to get the length of fields but i am getting errors based on unicode check like
describe length can only be in byte mode or character mode.
My program is about converting the output of smartform to pdf and send as an attachment to email.
Can any one answer me on this issue.
Thanks,
lalitha.Hi,
For this u shud use DESCRIBE FIELD GT_LINE LENGTH fle1 in BYTE/CHARACTER MODE as per the new guidelines for Unicode check
The description of BYTE/CHARACTER MODE says like this :
The length directly used by the data object dobj in the memory is determined in bytes or characters depending on the addition MODE and is assigned to the data object ilen. The data type i is expected for ilen.
You must specify the addition MODE in Unicode programs. The variant with the addition IN BYTE MODE determines the length of the data object dobj in bytes. The variant with the addition IN CHARACTER MODE determines the length of the data object dobj in characters. When using IN CHARACTER MODE, the data type of dobj must be flat and character-type. You can only specify IN BYTE MODE for deep data types and in this case, the length of the reference (8 bytes) is determined.
In non-Unicode programs and in releases prior to 6.10, LENGTH can be used without the addition MODE. In this case, the addition IN BYTE MODE is used implicitly
Note
For data objects with a fixed length, the length is determined that is specified during the creation of the data object. To determine the the used length of character-type data objects without counting the trailing spaces, you can use the built-in function strlen.
