Questions About Verizon EDGE Plan???

So, me and my guy went into what we thought was a regular Verizon Store to ask about combining our accounts to save some money (we are engaged).  My guy was having major issues with his Pantech Maruader and the sales person convinced him to get on the EDGE plan and get a Samsung Stratosphere II (he wanted a keyboard smartphone).  I asked about when we could combine our accounts and he said any time.  He suggested we do it on the 1st of next month though so the bill won't be huge.  Well, I called up Verizon today to try to get a quote again since I had forgotten.  They told me and also told me I didn't have to wait to get my guy on my plan.  So I proceeded on the website to try to "add a line" and it wouldn't let me.  We called customer service and they said an EDGE plan couldn't get under a non-EDGE plan and there was this"assumption of liability" phrase getting thrown around.  I said I accept the assumption of liability and they said they still couldn't do it.  If I wanted to connect to HIS plan I could but not vice-versa.
So I have heard all these different things and stories.  And I wonder if he can just pay the balance off the phone and quit this EDGE plan and go back to the normal plan he had before, I believe the MORE EVERYTHING plan?  Another guy at the "Verizon" store said we can't combine the accounts and that the EDGE plan just came available two days before he got the new phone and the plan.  This was March 12, 2014.  He also stated that they were very uninformed about the EDGE plan as employees and that the "Assumption of Liability" bit was told to them last week.
But from what I'm reading up here is that EDGE rolled out August last year????  So did I just get blantantly lied to so I wouldn't go off on the guy?  I didn't act angry towards him or anything just went in there asking what were th options so we can combine our accounts.  I want him under my account cause my job discount is bigger than his.  He also stated that we could just pay off the phone and there would be no early termination fee and he could go back to his regular plan...then transfer to myaccount, is this true??
Please someone shed some light on these questions!!

We tried to go into the Verizon store on N. Main St. in Suffolk, VA. yesterday to pay off the phone balance and get out of the EDGE plan, do the AOL and get him under my plan.  The Rep said we couldn't do that until it's been 30 days since he signed up for the plan.  That will be on Saturday, but she said wait until Sunday just to make sure.  So AGAIN I am getting a run-around.  I am tired of this situation.  Does Verizon not want $335 out of my pocket immediately??  I will be printing out this conversation and bringing it to the store again today.  Also, I hope you are a real representive and not a robot, since the other store told me the other responses from a chat I had on this site was from a robot and basically blew off any of it's answers...
The original store btw is on Portsmouth Blvd. in Chesapeake, VA.  They "state" they are an authorized Verizon dealer but they are NOT an official store.  The REAL name of the store is WeRWireless and the address is 4300 Portsmouth, Blvd. #196, Chesapeake, VA. 23321
The store I will be going to tomorrow will be Verizon Wireless, 1202 N. Main St. #200, Suffolk, VA. 23434.

  • Can i have more information about verizon edge program

What is the deal with Verizon edge program?  Does anyone know that if you have 4 lines on your account if just one person on your account wants to participate in the Verizon edge program, is this possible? or does everyone on your account have to participate.  Also, I have a few more questions, Let pretend I sign up for Verizon edge and do not want to edge up after 30 days with paying at least 60 percent of the phone that I just got off (which I think is kind of pointless)  So I continue paying on my phone for 20 months, then the Verizon edge program is over in 24 months correct?  Then after that, then could I go back to new every two program if I wanted to, after Verizon edge contract ends?  Then I can keep the phone that I paid for correct?  This is all really strange to me.  If I pay full retail price for a phone, I do not want to give it back to Verizon for them to resell.  It sounds like a leasing program to me.  Why would you want the continued payments on a phone, like a never ending credit card bill.  Anyway, all I want the Verizon edge for is get an early upgrade and a payment plan for a phone, then pay off the phone and keep it for the remainder of the Verizon edge plan, then end it.
Also, I do not have very good luck with phones working the entire time, that is what concerns me the most.  I have a s3 currently and it is completely messed up for the past couple of months.  The phone is acting nuts, drops calls, no reception,  cuts out, powers down at 46 percent.  So how is this going to happen if im the Verizon edge program and something happens to my phone, then  I cant put a back up phone on my account for a replacement.?  If the phone is defective and one of the stipulations of the plan is to return your phone in good working condition, then how would one do this is this situation happened?

The Verizon Edge payment option is basically a "leasing" program. The New Every Two program was retired in 2011.

  • Can I use the same sim card when I switch to the verizon edge plan?

I will be receiving my new Samsung Galaxy s5 that will be on the Verizon Edge plan. It will be arriving with a sim card. Can I just take my current sim card on my current phone and just use it with the s5? or will I have to use the sim card it comes with because I switched to the Edge plan?

You should be able to use the same SIM card; if they are different sizes, you can get an adapter or go ahead and use the SIM card that comes with the phone.

  • I do not qualify for the Verizon edge plan, even though I have been customer ever since they bought Alltel. Has anyone else had this problem.

Today I went to the Verizon store to upgrade my girlfriends phone which is on my account b/c I wanted to use the edge plan to buy the iPhone 5c. I had read in several different places that I could upgrade using edge and not loose my unlimited data, turns out I was misinformed, which the guy at the store told me after he had my information pulled up using my cell number. I told the guy I was not willing to give up my unlimited plan AND pay full price for the phone, I thanked him for his time and we left. When we left the store I called the Verizon number that is given on the website and told them I was interested in the edge plan for the 5c and asked for more information, ( I thought the guy at the store was wrong and I was checking). The woman I talked.......long story short, I talked to 8 people including 2 managers and none of them could tell me why I did not qualify for the edge financing (even if switching the plan), SO I was hoping someone on here might could help. I have been a customer since Verizon bought out Alltel, I have automatic payments set up with no late payments for as long as I can remember, and was eligible for an upgrade on 01/03/2013. Any experience or advice in this area would be appreciated.
    Thank You!

Here is my advice, at least. Not sure if anyone will agree, but it is my take on the problem.
With the Edge program, there is a "possibility" that someone will pay full price for a phone. This is not always the case, though. IF you do not complete ALL of the 24 months of payments, then you WILL NOT have paid full price for the phone, but simply a portion of the full price. THAT is why it does not make the plan "eligible" to keep your unlimited data. With the Edge plan, technically you only have to pay 50% of the full price before you can trade it in for another phone on the Edge plan. The way the plan is designed, the majority of people WILL NOT ever pay full price for the phone, but only a portion of the full price before they exchange their phone for a new device. That is what Verizon is hoping for, at least.
As Ann154 has pointed out, you can use the Device Payment Plan and keep your unlimited data. At no time during your contract can you trade THAT phone in to get another phone. You would have to continue making the payments on THAT phone along with any other phone you upgraded to. THAT is the difference between the 2 plans. You WILL end up paying full price for the phone on the Device Payment Plan, where you can STOP making payments on a phone with the Edge Plan if you turn it in for another device.
    Good luck.

  • So I went into the store to start a Verizon edge plan was denied but was approved for a 2 year contract why?

    Please help!

Edge approval is dependent on credit worthiness? Any late payments in the last 6 months? Trust me Verizon would actually prefer people be on the Edge plan.

  • Verizon Edge Plan A Scam

I purchased a Galaxy S4 almost a year ago, and have paid over 50% of the cost, in fact I only have 3 more payments to go. I wanted to Edge up to a Iphone 5s. I tried to go to a Verizon Store, and they could not help me stating that even though my account showed I was on the Edge plan it would not let them process the upgrade. I then tried to go through the website, which would let me get to the point of purchase then no option to use the Edge at checkout. As a last ditch effort I tried calling customer service. After 30 minutes of getting put on hold, then bounced to sales they told me they had never seen this issue before. I was told there was some code they could use to override the issue, however the representatives supervisor had to do the research and would call me back in an hour. The call never came. I am at the end of my rope on this one, and definitely have no choice but to finish out the payments on this phone without Verizon honoring their supposed Edge plan. I have been a subscriber since 1999, but at this point I think I am just going to have to jump ship to another carrier that will honor their service agreements. I have never had this issue with Verizon before, obviously they just do not care to keep your business anymore.

A year ago? The edge plan went live in August 25, 2013 maybe that is why you cannot edge up.
Also now instead of six months to get a new device you can do it every thirty days.
Go to a Verizon wireless corporate store not a reseller
    Good Luck

  • Question about Verizon insurance

If I enroll in the Verizon insurance plan and something happens to my phone, do I still get a refurbished as a replacement?

Personally I have had a great experience with Assurion. They even upgraded me to a better phone because it is what they had in stock. There is really no problem with a refurb, at least you know that a tech has gone over it using a 10 category 100 point per category checklist and it works. I prefer refurbs beacause they are tested and known good equipment. I hope that allays your fears. I'd rather pay $99 bucks for a refurb than have to shell out 600 bucks for a new device any day. They will also replace and accessories that you might have lost as well as long as you let them know about them when you make your claim. Well worth it.

  • More questions about iphone family plan - second line regular phone

I am planning to switch from a verizon family plan(2 phones) to att family plan with 1 3g iphone and one regular phone.
I will get the iphone and my wife won't
what is the best free phone to get from att ?
and how can i do this in apple retail store? they don't sell other phones right?
don't want to go to att store because they usually out of stock of iphone...

I would say your best bet is to go to an apple store and buy your iphone. Apple stores do not carry any other AT&T phones, and AT&T stores do not have many free phones. Once you buy your phone register online with AT&T and add a line there, they have tons of free phones online and ship second day air.

  • Verizon Edge Plan - Is this really a good deal?

The actual service plan costs do not change at all.  $40 for a Smartphone access, and $50 for 2gb, $60 for 4gb data, etc.
Typically you put down $199 for a 16gb iPhone (+the new $30 upgrade fee), that leaves $450 left you owe on the phone that is rolled into your 2 year contract.
Now with Edge you can get the same phone for only $27.15 down.  Sounds great, right?  However typical contract monthly bill just went up $27.15 to pay for that new phone, as you are paying for your new phone separately in full,  from your service plan.
(That $27.15 payment works out to be $328.80 a year)
That $450 ($225 per year) that previously got rolled into your service contract is still there.......yes, you are still paying for 2/3 of a smartphone in your service plan.....I mean month-to-month service.
And if you trade your phone in when it gets 50% paid off, you better hope that phone is in good condition - Verizon needs to have that phone in good condition so they can resell it back to other customers as "refurbished".
"To be eligible for the Edge Up option, the Edge phone being returned must be in good working condition and have no significant damage, as determined by Verizon Wireless."
And once you are in the plan, you can't get out until you have a phone paid off completely, so unless you are able to make extra payments toward your device, that's 2 years.

I recently (in the last week) had a conversation with a Verizon rep and she made the Edge program sound very inviting. After a year, I am always itching to get a new phone so I am seriously considering the jump. I do agree with your points, however, with the current promotion to lower your monthly access by $20 a month for plans 10Gb or larger, I believe the deal has got better. I was also told they would waive the $30 activation fee. Granted, through my employer, activation are waived but this seems very doable. So instead of
$40 a month for my current plan
I get a Note 3 for $29 a month and the $40 is reduced to $20, making my new access fee $49 (really $50).
If you think about a lesser phone, say an S4 mini, your monthly access would be $37 ($20 access + $17 phone).
Disclaimer - you only get a $10 discount for data plans under 10Gb. This isn't a problem for me since I have 5 devices.
Does this make the Edge look better?
Not to be super critical but your access fee is $20( $40-$20 discount ) you then have the Edge payment $29 and the "data"( data, minutes, texting ) portion $100( for 10 GB )

  • Question about running explain plan

I tried to run explain plan for a simple query, just to familiarize myself with how to do it. (I have another query that's taking a long time, and I've never run explain plan before). I got an error, googled it, and discovered I had to run the file at @%ORACLE_HOME%\rdbms\admin\utlxplan.sql first, to create the Plan_Table. Well, I tried to run that file and I get the error that I don't have priveleges on the tablespace. This really doesn't surprise me, as my access is read-only. Is there any way around this? I don't know a whole lot about databases, so forgive me if these following questions are dumb, but...
    1) is that file basically trying to create a table (called Plan_Table) within the schema I'm in (the only schema I have access to)?
    2) can my company's DBA run that file for me to create the Plan_Table?

What version of the database are you on?
You can get run-time execution plans from V$SQL_PLAN. You will need permission to read the V$ views. First find your query in V$SQL_PLAN (you can do a text search; putting a comment in like '--my_query' can help), then join to V$SQL_PLAN to find the query plan that that query used - join by the ADDRESS and HASH_VALUE columns.
Otherwise, see if you can get insert/update/delete access on just that one table when your DBA creates it
    Good luck.

  • Questions about Verizon Customer Service

Christopher from Verizon finally called me back tonight. He lied to me repeatedly about calling me back several times over the last month. When I reminded him that he was calling my VERIZON PHONE and he could check the log of incoming calls, it would clearly show that I never received the call. Finally, he confessed to me that his father is a drug addict and that is what caused him to not return my calls. I immediately asked him to switch me to a supervisor and I was connected to a supervisor by the name of Christopher (ironically) badge #XXXXXX from Irvine, CA who understood my frustruation but could only credit me $75 for last month, this month, AND next month since my plan never changed in time for the next billing cycle. I WILL cancel my phones tomorrow and I WILL NOT be paying the $1,195 in early termination fees. Shame on Verizon. I never should have experienced what I did tonight. Not to mention the countless hours that I have spent on calls with them.
    Unbelievable.

As Akitoscorpio said, I feel like I walked into the middle of the story.... clarkerw1122, your post gives no indication of what the original problem is/was, and all I see is frustration with the credit offered and apparently, a lot of effort to get that.  We don't know why you are seeking more of a credit, if it is justified...
You may be entitled to more of a credit,  $75 may be very generous.  Without details and more of the story, we can't be much help to you (if you did come here for help, that is).  Maybe you just wanted to vent...

  • Question about iphone wifi - plan to purchase phone soon

I noticed the phone has wifi. Will the phone automatically pick up the wifi signal and use it. I have wifi pretty much everywhere I am except in the car and was wanting to buy the iphone but not the extra $20 month plan that comes with it.

Well you have to get a data plan (at least for the first month). As for Wifi, you have a couple options. 1. Leave on the option to "Ask to Join". Meaning when it needs to get data, if it sees a WiFi signal (that is open) that you have not joined before, it will prompt you lett you know and you can click to join. Once you join a network, it will remember it anytime it is near it and autojoin. You can also leave the "Ask to Join" off (saves battery) and just when you start to go online for something you can manually have it look for nearby networks and join one. Once again, once you join once, it will auto join when near it again.
But $20 for unlimited data via Edge when needed (believe, WiFi isn't really everywhere and even if it is, not always an open network) is not a huge cost.
After the first month I believe there is the option to drop the data plan. However note, Visual Voice Mail comes down via Edge. Any mail checking (when not on WiFi) will happen over Edge. Without a plan, you will be charged each time you use Edge (even accidently).

  • A question about Verizon landlines

I am thinking about switching my home phone to Verizon from Comcast because whenever I lose electricity my phone doesn't work. (The backup battery from Comcast is useless.) Does Verizon still use old-fashioned, actual, physical phone wires? Or do they only use modems and battery backups for new subscribers?  Thank you.

I thought I also had a copper POTS line with FIOS but learned that it is not possible.  I have been paying for years for a "copper" phone line with my FIOS service but a tech came out this week and informed me (and showed me) that it is not true.  It is all digital and if the power goes out your "copper" line will not work any longer than the battery back up lasts.
Call them up.  Speak to a supervisor and they will confirm to you that your "copper" line does not in fact exist (if you also have FIOS).
There are terminology issues here that should be addressed, in particular the phrase "copper phone line with my FiOS service."  It certainly is possible to have both a "copper" POTS line and a FiOS VoIP line at the same time.  I know this is true because I have such an installation at my home, with 2 separate monthly invoices to prove it..  I made it a requirement of my FiOS purchase that the original POTS line be maintained and that no changes be allowed to that arrangement.
However it is not possible to have a single FiOS-based telephone line that uses copper wiring coming  INTO the home from the street, although telephone wiring inside the building will normally run on Cat3 copper wires.  What your installation had, from the time you first had a FiOS optical cable installed in your home, is a fiber-based system with a VoIP line.  This telephone system sends packets over the Internet.  It is not, never was, and simply cannot be, "copper-based."
It also seems unlikely that a cabal of employees at Verizon held a meeting and conspired to "defraud" you about "copper FiOS."  More likely you misunderstood the technology  from the onset..  This is unfortunate because the introductory literature both online and in FiOS promotional material clearly describes the basic technology, battery backups, fiber cables, etc.  If you later ask the company to re-install copper wiring and provide a POTS line, you will most likely find that they will not do it in your area, or that the charge will be out of proportion to the value.

  • Question about distribution resource planning in pp module

hi, my all respected sir,i want to ask question as below
    1) what do you mean by distribution resource plannning and what are steps occour in this planning?
    2) what is the difference between drp and mrp?
thank you , all of you
      ok by

    Hi,
Distribution Resource Planning (DRP) is a method used in business administration for planning orders within a supply chain. DRP enables the user to set certain inventory control parameters (like a safety stock) and calculate the time-phased inventory requirements.
    DRP uses several variables:
the on-hand inventory at the end of a period.
the backordered demand at the end of a period.
the required quantity of product needed at the beginning of a period.
the constrained quantity of product available at the beginning of a period.
the recommended order quantity at the beginning of a period.
             DRP needs the following information:
the demand in a future period.
the scheduled receipts at the beginning of a period.
the safety stock requirement for a period.
the on-hand inventory at the beginning of a period.

Material Requirements Planning (MRP) is a software based production planning and inventory control system used to manage manufacturing processes. Although it is not common nowadays, it is possible to conduct MRP by hand as well.
An MRP system is intended to simultaneously meet three objectives:
Ensure materials and products are available for production and delivery to customers.
Maintain the lowest possible level of inventory.
Plan manufacturing activities, delivery schedules and purchasing activities.

  • Question on verizon edge

I have been a loyal customer since 2003. I was going to add a line and get a IPAD Air 2 today and use the edge program to purchase saving me close to 600.00 dollars. Verizon turned me down because I suspended two phones a couple of months ago so I could keep my phones and pay my bill monthly. Now I'm being penalized for something that I caused so I could keep paying my bill. I don't understand the logic here and it seems nobody can tell me when I will be able to use the edge program. Please help!!!!

They want you to have perfect credit for atleast 6 months in a row. They are probably worried you suspened those lines, becouse you could not afford to pay it. I am not fully sure if that was way they are rejecting you, but they are probably just worried that they are giving away the ipad and there      will be an issue later.
Keep paying everything on time and you will get there.
