Questions on I-Procurement....

Hi All,
I have a following question on IProcurement if you can help me get an answer on this.
Thanks in advance
I create a PR(Purchase Requisition) and its get approved by all people in Hierarchy. Converts it into PO.
Question) What is the change process of PR. A person(requestor) can do change in approved PR which has PO already. How would this data flow?
Thanks
Prashant Pathak

The requestor can go to iprocurement and request changes.
The changes are sent to the buyer in form of a workflow notification.
Depending on where the supplier is with the PO, the buyer can choose to accept or reject the changes.
If accepted, the purchase order is automatically modified and approval process begins for the po. A notification is also sent to the requestor saying that the request was accepted and processed.
If buyer rejects the changes, nothing happens to the PO. Instead, a rejection notification is sent to the requestor.

  • Issue with OOTB Procurement and Spend report on top of W_AP_INV_DIST_F

We are implementing OBIEE 11g on top of EBS R12. Observed today that AP_INVOICE_DISTRIBURIONS_ALL has a lot of records with PO_DISTRIBUTION_ID as NULL (This is expected as this table holds not only PO but also Expense tyoe invoices). The mapping used to populate W_AP_INV_DIST_F (SDE_ORA_APInvoiceDistributionFact) uses the PO_Distribution_ID to derive Product_ID. Thus, in W_AP_INV_DIST_F a lot of lines exist with PRODUCT_WID of NULL (which is also understable).
My question is - In Procurement and Spend OOTB reports (for ex - Spend by Top Categories) , it is showing all records from W_AP_INV_DIST (and not filtering to Spend_Type of "PO Matched"). Thus, most of the records is going into the "Unspecified" bucket.
Any thoughts on why the OOTB report would work like that (This is affecting any OOTB report that is built on top of W_AP_INV_DIST_F and involves products or product categories)?

Out of curiosity, why do you only maintain 13 months of history in PeopleSoft? I have never heard of this. Dont the business users want to track PeopleSoft before 13 months? With regard to your question, given you are only able to load 13 months on a full load and this is impacting the links to the correct suppliers, you can consider keeping a refresh date on the tasks that load the W_SUPPLIER_D tables. This can prevent reload for the supplier dimension. However, I am not sure how you intend to handle the other dimensions as I assume you will have the same issue. If you only have 13 months of history, BI Apps will only load 13 months of history on a full load. Also for the SCD dimensions, there should be a CURRENT_FLAG that is set to Y only for the current record and there should still be a link to the previous records where CURRENT_FLG = N. As long as your SCD is working fine, and you can prevent the reload of supplier dimension via the refresh date changes, it may work. I would advise your PeopleSoft team to maintain history..esp if they want to take advantage of Analytics and trend analysis.

  • Procure-to-Pay Scenario. Create Purchase Order

Hello Experts: I have a question regarding the Procure-to-Pay scenario and the Create PO functionality.
we are in SRM 7.0, Classic Scenario and we try to implement the Procure-to-Pay functionality as it is described in OSS note 1263876 "SAP SRM: Configuration of Procure-to-Pay Scenario".
Our idea is to transfer Purchase Requisitions from ECC6 to SRM using the CPPR application. But we will also take advantage of the integration with MM provided with this scenario.
If you are familiar with this, you will already know that, using the harmonized role for operational purchaser (ERP/SRM) an end user can create Purchase Orders in the backend. Our question is related to this functionality.
Using this role, the buyer can select Purchasing Documents under the detailed navigation area and, from there, he will have access to create Shopping carts, Purchase requisitions, Purchase Orders and Purchase order responses.
If we select Create Purchase Order, the application "Purchase Order: New" gets opened. Here we have to select the system where we want to create the new PO: either SRM or ECC6. Our first question is: As we are running a Classic scenario, why are we asked to select between SRM and ECC6?. It should be only ECC6, shouldn't be?
In any case, the SRM systems gets selected by default when we open "Purchase Order: New" appl. and bellow this field, you can see the PO types customized in SRM. If we change the system to ECC6 we see the following: "Number of purchase order types: 0" . So, no PO types are available. this is the second question: why do we have 0 PO types to be created when we select the ECC6 system? is there a missing customizing where we have to define which document types are vaialable to create POs in ECC6 from SRM Portal?.
To summarize: only ECC6 should be proposed as system to create POs (as we are running a Classic Scenario) and there should be ECC6 PO types available to create such POs in the ECC6.
Can you please tell us what is still missing in our configuration? Any help will be more than welcome
Many thanks in advance for your valuable help
    Best regards
    Valentí

The purpose of MRP run is to make sure that you always have enough stock.
An order to cost center will not increase stock.
Means: MRP is not able to create requisitions for cost center consumption. If you change a requisition created by MRP to be ordered to a cost center, then the next MRP run will create a new requisition to stock.

  • G/L Account Determination - meaning of accounts

    Hi!
I have several questions regarding the account types in the G/L account determination.
I do not know for which transactions the following accounts will be used:
    Sales
    -) Overpaying/Underpaying Account
-) Down Payment Receivable (I've simulated various Down Payment transactions but the system always used the Down Payment Clearing Account and the Down Payment Interim Account)
    -) Open Depts
-) Down Payment Tax Offset Account (Is it a separate tax account for Down Payments - If so It can be theoretically the same account  that will be used for output taxes on conventional A/R invoices?)
    Purchasing
    -) Assets Account
    General
    -) Automatic Reconciliation Diff.
-) Ex rate on def tax account
Regarding the Inventory accounts I have some lack of understanding in general. I think it is important to separate between a drop ship and a warehouse procurement process?! If I buy goods and post the quantities on my warehouse by issuing a Goods Receipt P/O I do not understand the journal entries in the background.
I would be please if someone can help me out by explaining me the aim of the above listed types of account.
    Thank you and best regards

    I've closed my old thread.
I put all this questions into this one thread as I did not want to spam the forum with 8 separate threads and all questions are concerning the G/L Account determination. Anyhow I will re-post my questions regarding the procurement process and the down payment issue
Joseph, thank you for this link but frankly speaking the most answers from that pages are insufficient for me as it is not explained in detail. For example I do not understand how comes to an Automatic reconciliation difference.
    Thank you and best regards

  • Question on Self Service Procurement Scenario?

    Hai friends
Self Service Procurement is used for automatic generation of PR and shop on Behalf of.
So how is SSP possible in creation of PR in extended Classic Scenario
Is SSP possible in Classic Scenario only? If its possible in all scenario then what is the use of Self Service Procurement
    Regards
    krishna

    Hi Krishna,
SSP (Self Service Procurement) scenario is possible in both, Classic and Extended Classic Scenario's. In classic scenario, the follow-on doc. say PO created w.r..t SC will be created in backend system and in case of Extended Classic Scenario, the PO will be created in SRM and a copy will be posted to backend.
PR can be replicated from backend to SRM system in both the cases. It falls under Plan-driven  procurement business scenario.
In extended classic scenario, if you want to replicate the PR to SRM, it can be listed in sourcing cockpit as an external requirement and ca be processed further to follow bidding process in SRM.
In classic scenario, you can configure to create a SC in SRM and transfer it to the backend system to create PR / PO as a follow-on document.
I hope this answers to your question.

    Prashant

    Hi Experts,

In general, the analysis should cover the following:
    - Types of procurement departments, since there might be different departments for different kinds of purchases - perhaps different lines of business altogether.
    - Process of procurement of each
    - Centralized / decentralized processing
    - Treatment of taxes / duties
    - Inventory valuation procedures
    - Quality checks during procurement
    - Long term contracts / agreements
    - Treatment of low value items (with or without purchase order)
    - Approval process (release procedure)
    - Stock transfer process across plants
    - Subcontracting / consignment / pipeline requirements
    - Process for vendor returns
    - Scrap generation / storage
    - Physical inventory process / frequency /writeoffs
    - Treatment of freight and other charges
    - Imports, if a different process is followed.
    - Service procurement process
    - Any special process associated with the company or industry.
Hope this covers most of the business processes related to procurement

  • Question to those who do Direct Procurement in EBP

    Hello,
I just have a simple question to those who have confgured and process Direct Procurement in EBP....
If you click the 'Order as Direct' button, can you click it again to revert back? If
not, what is your process to revert back? If you can, have you have any
problems or dumps that an OSS note cured?
Thank you in advance and points award accordingly.
    Regards, Dean.

    Hi
To disable this button, you need to create an Active Implementation of  'BBP_DP_PROD_CHK_BADI' using SE18 transaction. (Read SAP documentation first)
yes, this can be deactivated via BADI BBP_DP_PROD_CHK_BADI.
In method PRODUCT_CHECK, just clear EV_DP_FLAG.

  • Accts Pay/Rec and Procure to Pay/Order to Cash Question.

I have seen different country specific oracle sites list the following courses
    1
    Procure to Pay Fundamentals
    Order to Cash Fundamentals
    2
    Implement and use Payables
    Implement and use Receivables
Are (1) and (2) the same thing.
    thanks

    Hi,
i just need someone to clear this up for me,Procure to pay after you pay the suppliers then the cycle is complete,
Normally the Procure to Pay cycle gets completed after you pay to the supplier and the payment passes to the general Ledger module.
do we need to create the item we purchased before or after PO.
Yes you need to create the ITEM before purchasing, as you need to raise the PO to purchase that particular item
2.procure to cash, the cycle is complete after we receive the cash?
Normally here also the cycle is completed after the transactions get posted to GL.
    Hope This Helps,
    Raghav

  • Questions: SAP Procurement terminology

Need clarifications regarding below SAP terms with respect to Procurement.
What is meant by Standard Product Classifications and what’s the use of this in procurement?
What is meant by Master categories and what is the use of Master categories? Is the Standard Product Classifications and Master Categories are same?
In SLM, SAP ask us to do s Master category assignments, what use of this with respect to Business?

  • Automatic PO from PR [free text base procurement ]

    Hi SAP gurus ,
    I have following question ,
I am not using material master , it is a free text base procurement .
even there are no contracts in place .
Purchasing is only PR - PO w.r.t. & without respect to PR  - GR - IV . etc.
How can I create a Automatic PO w.r.t. PR ?
    Can anybody please advice?
    Thanks ,
    Prasad

    Hello,
    1. Check auto PO tick in Vendor Master record.
    2. Create Info record for material group which you are going to use in PR. This is important for net price, purchasing group and tax code which will be mandatory in PO.
    3. Assign Source of supply as this info record in PR.
    4. Create auto PO in ME59N t- code.

  • Service procurement & implementation scenario in SRM 7.0

    Hi Guys,
I would like to know if in SRM 7.0 the new Service Procurement External Staffing scenario would work in the Extended classic scenario implementation? Or is this only supported in standalone?
Do we have to custom build the document exchange between ECC - SRM - SUS for confirmation and invoice documents like in SRM 5.0. I am searching for a possibilty to let the service agents themselfs fill in the confirmation with the service entry sheet.
If the extended classic scenario is supported then we are quickly done. Other possibility is to let an existing web application (to capture time sheets) generate a XML confirmation message and send this message to EBP via XI. This way the hours can also be captured. Invoicing can then by handled e.g. by ERS. What do you think?
    Thx.
    Skander

    Hi Muthu,
Thx for your response, but these blogs do not provide an anwser to my question. I have read the release documentation of SRM 7.0, but even then I still have the above question.
Will this business scenario work in combination witht the extended classsic scenario (and how does SUS fits in this picture)?
    Kind Regards,
    Skander
