Questions on invoice sent by email as PDF

Hello,
I have set up my invoice output to be sent to an external address by email as a PDF. This works fine but I have 3 questions:
1. How can I dynamically generate an email subject ? Right now I can enter a fix subject but I would like it to be dynamic such as ex.: Invoice # xxxxxxxxxx sent by <cie name>.
2. The invoice is a PDF found as an attachment to the email. How can I have text, besides the subject, in the email body ? Where do we set up that in the system ?
3. I want to create a report that would show if the output was properly generated for the invoice and what's the status in sost. I can't find a link between the entry in table NAST and the entry in SOST. How can I link my output from NAST with the status in SOST in a report ?

Hi, on question 3, we had a simular request and solved it by storing the 'mail request number' in the application log.
The 'mail request number' (SO_REC_NO) is returned by the smartfrom function module in SYST-MSGID, MSGNO,...
The print application log can (think it should) be updated by calling function module 'NAST_PROTOCOL_UPDATE' after the call to the smartfrom function module.
CALL FUNCTION 'NAST_PROTOCOL_UPDATE'
    EXPORTING
      MSG_ARBGB = SYST-MSGID
      MSG_NR    = SYST-MSGNO
      MSG_TY    = SYST-MSGTY
      MSG_V1    = SYST-MSGV1
      MSG_V2    = SYST-MSGV2
      MSG_V3    = SYST-MSGV3
      MSG_V4    = SYST-MSGV4
After that via field NAST-CMFPNR (Error management number) the application log can be retrieved. Application log messages are in table CMFP where field APLID = 'WFMC' (Output control) and NR = NAST-CMFPNR.
The mail request number is stored in the log under CMFP-ARBGB = 'SSFCOMPOSER' and MSGNR = '024' in MSGV1. MSGV1 holds SO_REC_NO that is the key or index to tables SOST, SOSC, SOOD

It asks me to answer my security questions so I do and it tells me it's wrong and then proceeds to tell me that I can reset my questions. I do that, type in account information and it says it sent the email but I have not gotten it yet. I did this last night and still have not received anything .... I really wanna buy some apps but I can't. What should I do ?

Invoice attached to email as pdf

our customers have asked us if it is possible to attach a copy of their purchase invoice to their confirmation email as a pdf.
has anyone been able to do this?
or does anyone know how this could potentially be done?

BC can't do it out of the box, you could use the BC notification API to a 3rd party service that goes to a specially created page on your BC and converts the HTML into a PDF and then emails it. You would have to find a service that does this, build your own or get someone (me) to build it for you.

Edit invoice smartform to email with pdf attachment

Hi,
I need to send the invoice details by mail that are currently only printed through the edit function.
When i go to VF02 enter invoice number and then edit, is it possible to send this message through email with the invoice as pdf attachment?
Also it would be necessary to enter receivers email at that time.
Maybe there is an exit before the sending that could raise a popup...
Do you think this can be done this way?

I have done this succesfully in a different way:
1) Create a Z Table for the email ID per Bill to party - this table accomodates up to 999 email ids per customer and also has a column for CC
2) Create a new output type for EMAIL purposes with the Transmission medium as 1 -
assign the output program and form to this.
In the program, add new code to refer to the new Z table for getting the email ids of respective Bill to parties
In the program add code to convert the form to PDF format and attach to the email craeted.
Your ABAPPER should be able to assist in this code writing - in my case it took some time to get the desired result but the customers are very happy with the end result -

Hello Ranjith,
There is no native functionality for encrypting a PDF document from within BusinessObjects Enterprise. Additionally, none of the BOE SDKs are able to encrypt a PDF document either. Generally speaking, if it is not possible in the product (BOE) it's not possible with the various SDKs.
I am not aware of any third party tools that can do this from inside BOE either. If you haven't done so already you may want to post a question to the [Business Objects Board|http://www.forumtopics.com/busobj/index.php?sid=1037068e7b26619422be6a7b18a8c2ee] (BOB) to see if anyone there has a suggestion.

Pdf file sent via email attachment gets a webloc extension

Someone sent an email with a pdf attachment to our entire school via our google mail account. People with PCs were able to open the pdf files. Mac users received the pdf files with a webloc extension (i.e. - filename.pdf.webloc) and were unable to open it. How did this happen and how can we prevent it from happening again? I had 2 of the pdf files on my mac (one of which I created) and they did not have a webloc extension. Any help would be great. Thank you!!

I tried that and received a message from Adobe Acrobat that read "Adobe Reader could not open 'Absentee Ballot.pdf' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded).
Since we have 300+ families who receive these emails and I don't know who has a mac and who doesn't I would rather be able to send the pdf attachments and prevent the webloc from being applied at all versus letting everyone know how to remove it once they receive it.

I'm making the book for children and there is one chapter providing coloring pages. So I wish to attach pdf files that allow users to download it at the end of chapter so that they can print it out. Been searching through discussion, I've found some advice about taking screen snapshot page-by-page > then send the pics from photo album to email. However, I'm wondering if there's a way that make the process easier.

No Payment document attachement (PDF) sent via email

We have been running the auto-email with PDF payment attachement via F110 for quite some times. Recently my user feedback that some of the vendors receive the email sent by SAP system, however, no attachement being sent to them.
I have checked the F110 log, which the requested email is generated successfully. However, i couldn't check whether there is email attachement being to them via SOST.
We are in ECC6. The reported cases are perhaps 5% of the batch payment document running affected with no pdf file attachement sent via email.
I have been searching around any similar case and how we trace the problem. Can someone share on it?

Ask to these vendor what kind of software they have to avoid SPAM, or if they manage black lists, 'grey' list. There are other software tools managing these messages. Sometimes these tools remove the attachments.

Send collective invoice via (Single mail)email in pdf format

Hi All,
Please suggest me the solution option for the below requirement.
The requirement is to send collective invoice to the customer via email in PDF format in a single email at the end of the day.ie they like to have a tool where they
can enter the output type,date and other relavant info and the program should collect all the invoice and convert it to PDF and send it in single mail to customer.
Please let me know i can use any Standard tool for this purpose.ALso is it possible to write a Zprogram reprocess the output type by using any FM?
Also suggest if you have any feasible solutions.

thanks for your comments. Sorry its my mistake that i have asked in general.
I am looking for the following options.
1. Any stanard program which can be used partially for my requirement?
2. If i have to go for a new tool, then i should write a code for reprocess the output types and then convert in to one single PDF and then send it to customer in one single email.
Here i am struck how to write an program to reprocess the ouput types? i hope the next steps can be easily implemented evenhough some watch outs are there like 'how to make a single PDF file' and some technical constraints like max size that can be send.

Captivate is not really designed to do what you want in this instance. It's more targeted at allowing a user to complete an assessment and then track whether or not they passed. So it's only really set up to send information in a format that the LMS will understand and interpret as Pass/Faill and what the score was.
You really need something more flexible than that. So I think you would need to get a programmer involved and have the solution custom made. In my experience, any time you try to diverge Captivate from what it was designed to do, and you need to get other IT professionals involved, you can kiss thousands of dollars goodbye before you have a workable solution.

I just tried an experiment.
I created a PDF file and e-mailed it to myself. I then checked my e-mail on my iPad in Mail. The PDF appeared as an attachement. When I clicked on it it opened, apparently in Mail.
Am I misunderstanding your situation since Keynote does not seem to be involved at all?

You cannot change your Rescue email address after you have forgotten your Security Questions. Once you get everything reset, you will be able to change it. For now, you are going to have to contact Apple Support to get them reset:

Do you mean that the reset link won't show on your account or that the email doesn't arrive on your rescue email address ?
The reset link will only show if you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) on your account.
If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer your questions), or you aren't receiving the email to it (you've checked the spam folder on the account and tried clicking the reset link again) then you will need to contact Support in your country to get the questions reset.

I had the same problem. My version of RoboHelp is pretty old (x5) and the problem was with pdfs made up in version 9. Some pdfs would open and some would not. It depended on the version used to make the pdf. Got error messages and corrupted file messages.
I solved the problem by using the full version of Acrobat and using the pdf Optimizer to make compatible with version 5( just to make sure).
Another option is to "print" to the pdf printer when the file is open.
Both then can be imported into RoboHelp without a problem
Hope this helps. It ruined many days at work for me while I tried to figure out what on earth I was going to do.
