Questions on Purchasing Info Record

Dear all,
Please help to clarify my doubt on the following :
1) Will purchasing info record be created automatically whenever we raised a PO?
or Do we need to do any setting in SAP?
2) During PO creation, can the Rem. shelf life field found in the Delivery Tab of the PO be updated with the Min. rem. shelf life found in Material Master instead coming from the Vendor-Purchasing Info Record?
3) Whenever I raised a PO, I realise that the InfoUpdate is always ticked. May I know is there any setting for this.

PO will not be created automatically, you have to tick info update in PO. Then only Inforecord will be created.
or Do we need to do any setting in SAP?
In the Purchase order screen layout you have tick that info update field.

shelf life data is fetched from material master only.
3) Whenever I raised a PO, I realise that the InfoUpdate is always ticked. May I know is there any setting for this.
There is no setting for this you have set this field in the purchase order as info update then only it updates or creates info record.

    I am using the following information to execute the function module ME_DIRECT_INPUT_INFORECORD.
    Material : 123
    Material Group: 12164400
    Vendor Account Number: 100015
    Purchase Order Unit of Measure: PC
    Purchase Organization: 460
    Purchasing Group: 100
    Currency Key: DKK
    Plant: 316
    I get the error 'Please adjust conversion factors in conditions'.
    I do not know the root cause for this error. Can anyone guide me to solve this error? Have I missed any mandatory fields required to run the above mentioned FM?

  • Archiving Purchase Info Records

    Can you please let me know what are the prerequsites that need to be completed before archiving a Purchase Info Record?
    do we need to check for any other dependency/flag other than the Mark for deletion (table field LOEKZ   'X')

    Hi Jeevan,
    In order to be able to delete an info record, you have to mark the Info Records for deletion. 
    To do so, use transaction ME15 and flag record for deletion. After you have deleted all info records, use archiving program RM06IW30 or follow the menu path Logistics - Materials Management u2013Purchasing - Master Data - Info Record - Follow on Functions - Archive. 
    Make sure that you only archive Records Marked for deletion as all records may be deleted! 
    Create Archive File: Info Record:
    a) Select Action: Archive and enter a new Variant, for example: Z_EINA_ARCH_ 01, press 'Maintain'
    b) On selection screen enter the data range (Vendor, Material, etc.) you want to archive.
    c) Deselect the 'Test' flag if you don't want to test first.
    d) Press green back-arrow and enter the description of this new variantt on the screen which follows.
    e) Save the variantt which brings you again to the selection screen. Press green back arrow again.
    f) To start archiving process (batch-job), press the 'Start Date' button and select the time when you want to start this process. Select 'Immediate' for instant processing and press the 'Save' button on the bottom of the Start Time' window.
    g) Select the 'Spool Parameter' button and save entries. Eventually enter a valid printer to have the result outputted.
    h) You are ready now to start the process. Press the 'Start' button and monitor the success with the 'Job Overview' button You can also go the 'fast path' by using transaction SE38, program RM06IW30 to archive info records. For large data archiving, use the background jobs and run those during off-peak times. If you run the program online, you will see a confirmation on the status bar telling 'New Archive file created:.... ' Delete Archived Records: Info Record
    a) Follow the menu path: Tools - Administration - Administration - Archiving
    b) Select the Object Name MM_EINA for info records
    c) Select the menu button 'Delete'
    d) Select the menu button: 'Archive Selection'
    e) Click the archive created in previous step
    f) Select Start Date for process and Spool Parameters for output
    g) Submit selection.
    h) Check status by pressing the Job Overview button

    One additional question: When I import info records using LSMW, one condition record (PB00) is created automatically. Is it possible to change the validity of that condition record using LSMW, too? Or can I only create new condition records?

  • Problem with Purchase Info Record Condition Data ( ME11)

    I am trying post Data for Purchase Info Records with Conditions data.
    I am using a standard Batch Input Method ( LSMW).
    Object 0060

    I am able to post data only for the condition type PB00. for other condition types FRC1 & FRA1 not able to post the data ( also session is not giving any error).
    Therefore I am trying out witH BAPI option ( BAPI_PRICES_CONDITIONS),
    when i try to test the BAPI i am getting an error "Record KNUMH = 0000668598,

    Hi Phemmy,
    it is possible to create  PO before info record .info record establishes the relationship between vendor and your particular material.
    to answer your 2nd question:
    it is possible to create inforecord automatically during PO creation. in the ME2N screen, in the material tab, put the material code. then go to item details.in the materail data tab, you will get infoupdate  check it.and then inforecord will be created automatically.

    Hi Folks,
    I have some questions regarding the archiving of purchase info records.
    1. what are the functional dependencies that we need to check for before Archiving a PIR.
    2.bold I was unable to Archive some Purchase info records even after it is marked as complete (LOEKZ = 'X') is there any other things that need to be cheked for deletion or there is any other dependencies??
    Please let me know the possibilities to resolve the issue..

    Purchase info record is a condition record which facilitates in defualting the Conditions & some Vendor & Plant Specific Data.
    If you have already marked them from deletion, that means they are not in use.
    That means you can archive them.
    Inforecords with category Consignment, pipeline need to be checked , as from these inforecords only the prices are picked.
    If these donot exits then you will not be able to create the PO's,Please ensure that.
    apart from that you can archive the PIR's flagged for deletion

      Am a basis person with no experience on MM... so ill like to ask you MM geeks this....It will be best if i narrate my ordeal....I am try to investigate some things....I have a PO which was created on 8.12.2009 and a purchase info record related to this PO created on the 30.09.2009...and created by(Info Rec) a person who has the authorization to created POs but not info records.
    Now my questions Are this.
    1. Is it possible to have an info record created before its PO.
    2. Are info records created automatically? if yes, when do this occur...

    PO is a purchasing document. Info record is a master data that has a material-vendor relation set.  SAP recommends to create Info record before PO as it is a master data and the conditions ( net price & effective price) are adopted from it.
    1. Po can be created before Info Recod. It is not mandatory the otherway round but recommended.
    2. Info record is created automatically when a Po is created if the Infoupdate indicator is set in Po (Item details --> Material Data Tab).
    3. Uncheck the Infoupdate indicator if the info record need not be created.

    Is there any enhancement available to to update the purchase info record with thecondition type
    fild during release of materials using CK40N /CK24.
    ie Whenever a cost is released ,  the object should populate the overhead condition type (ZUB1) on the INFO record
    Another requirement is
    Whenever there is adding/updating additive costs (ck74n and ck75n), the object should populate the corresponding condition types on the INFO records (ZFR2 for freight cost; ZOC2 for duty cost).

    But my next question is how can I know how much cost centers will be for some document? If I need to define number of cost centers in advance, then this solution is not very flexible. The best solution would be if I could add values to classification flexibly (for example: one time 3 values and the other time 1 value).
    :-Check box additional values in values tab of char. that will allow to enter flexible number of values any time
    The other question is about values of parameters. For each cost center I need to enter two values (cost center number, and costs for that cost center). So, for each cost center I need to add 2 values. Is that possible using classification?
    :-Create classification with chara. cost center, cost center value and check box additional values as above that will allow you to add values for cost center and cost center value.

  • Purchase info record does not exists in purchase organization 1000

              I have created a new enterprise structure in SAP. when i am creating a PO its picking the correct info record, but when i am doing GR, its giving the error as 'purchase info record does not exists in purchase organization 1000". I have maintained everything perfect. the only thing i have changed is I have moved the open and close period from 11-2002 to 12-2008 in MMPV.
             Please give me some suggestions, where it can go wrong.

              Thanks for all yours responses, Actually what deepak said was right, but in my IDES system i am not able to create new entries in assign plant to std purchase org. I found the database view for that, V_001W_E its for table T001W. So i looked into that table i found that std purchase org was given as 1000. i made direct entries in that table, i thought the reason for this may be due to , that i copied plant from 1000. After making entries , i did not got the error message that was i am previously getting.

    ME1P will be used to monitor the changes in terms of pricing conditions you made to your info record via Transaction MEKP.
    In case of SA, you will have to build up your simple query by joining two tables A016 and KONP.

  • How to change the Qty Conversion on a Purchase Info Record.

    I am trying to change the Quantity Conversion for a particular Purchase Info Record as it is incorrect.  The inputs are greyed out on the Purchasing Organization1 Data Screen.   I have also gone to the Conditions screen and the Menu Selection is greyed out when I go to the Menu for EXTRAS->Conversion Factors.  The Conversion Factor has been changed at the Additional Data Screen of the Material Master.   Any help would be greatly apprectiated.  Thanks in Advance.

    I have solved this problem.    From the Condition Record I went to the Menu Path, GOTO->ADDITIONAL DATA.  From here I was able to go to the Conversion Factor and make the changes.

    There are so many ways to be analysed for the cause. Because PIR -Purchase info record:
    Please check in order of priority while diagnosing and finding for the solution:
    1. Check wether the PIR is created for the Vendor of that perticular material or not.
    2. Check for the validity (valid upto which date) mentioned in the PIR
    3. Check for the type of Info record (based on Item category) it is such as Standard, Sub contracting, etc
