R/3 -- CRM -- MSA

Dear Colleagues,
I have done with Initial load from R/3 to CRM online. Now to get the MSA working, I need to download data to CDB.
Where can I find the step by step document for the same, if there is any? Any standard SAP document course.
I searched on help.sap.com, but its just in brief. I am also searching on best practices website, bute in meantime if you guys aware of anything, please do let me know.

    We are planing an upgrade from CRM MSA CP  4.0 SP 08 to CRM MSA CP 7.0.
    As we know that one of the biggest issues is the code migration, we want to setup a sandbox system.
    The idea is to install a repository server and a MDW in 7.0, then put the 4.0 repository backup to the 7.0 repository server and
    start the CMT (code migration tool). We have installed the landscape already, but if we want to install the CMT wer ge the message, that the MDW ist not installed on the machine.
    The question that we have , is our plan ok, or do we need to install a 4.0 repoitory server and make the update of the repository server later on ?
    As i cannot find a proper description for the steps i want to ask you, what steps are correct ?
    If anyone made some experience already, it would be great if you could share them.

    You are mistaken. CMT should be run only from 4.0 MDW machine, this tool can not be run from 7.0 MDW machine.
    Please refer to the note 1087949 for the issue mentioned.

    We are trying to download BW Reports on Mobile Sales App. The implementation is working perfect when we create variants in BW and then fetch data in CRM.
    But now we want to restrict data according to territory of the Mobile User. This is to be done with the help of "By Terr. ID" subscription, but when we use a generic variant and request data, the job is cancelled in BW system saying "Logon for BW user failed when starting a step."
    Pls help as it very very very very very very urgent!!!

  • CRM - MSA - Authorization Management Tool

    Hi All,
    I have an issue with the AMT, I did the following steps.
    1. Protected the Business Object
    1. Created a token for BOOPPORTUNITY.
    2. Assigned the token to a role.
    3. Assigned myself to the role.
    4. The BOOPPORTUNITY still did not work for me.
    5. Ran ConnTrans.
    6. I removed myself from the role.
    7. Deleted token assign to role.
    8. Deleted role.
    9.When I check to verify the token/role were removed. The token was still in the     assigned field. But the role is gone.
    10. Now it say, Can not delete token after it was assigned to a role.
    11. These changes have went to the CRM Server.
    Any ideas on how I can removed that token, from the role that does not exist?
    Any feedback will be greatly appreciated, I need a response asap.

  • CRM MSA 4.0: Instant Reporting

    Dear all,
       when I run Sales Transactions --> Search; the system display a list with result and, all date fields have a corrent format (dd/mm/yyyy).
    If I use mouse right-button on the list, I can export the list into excel sheet, but, the date fields not have the correct format (mm/dd/yyyy).
    How can I change the date format before generate sheet?

       When u right click on the list, there is some doXXEvent() that grts trigerred in the corresponding webpage of the jsp. plz check the date format there, and if required change it.

    Now I want to know if the clients must have replicated
    all data from msa to crm before upgrade or is this
    also after upgrade possible ?
    The same question is for crm-server, outbound-queue:
    must this be empty before upgrade ?

    Hi,
    only in case of sBDocs which have been enhanced since SP06 there could occur some problems when replicating data with a not fitting structure.
    But for my understanding only then there would be a problem when BDocs with the new structure are imported in a DB still holding the old structure.
    In other words data from Mobile still holding the old structure should be imported in the CRM system which already holds the new structures without any problems.
    As it cannot be guaranteed that the CRM outbound queues (smq1) are empty at a particular point of time the following steps need to be performed:
    - stop all the queues (smqr)
    - run upgrade in CRM system
    - prepare and send Mobile upgrade package (including new TPS.NET file) via middleware (upgrade console)
    - restart all queues (smqr)
    ==> running conntrans on the Mobile clients will result in importing the data with old structure (which still was in the CRM outbound queue), then replacing the MSA application with the new version, and finally importing new data from CRM in the new structure

  • Collisisons in a MSA CRM 4 SP8 - CRM 7 SP4 upgrade

    Hello everybody,
    I have run the MAR Upgrade tool CRM 7.0 SP4 on a CRM MSA 4.0 SP8 landscape. In total 11 Change Lists have been imported. Each change list caused approximately 1000 collisions which is in total 11000 collisions. I am a bit surprised by that amount of collisions. Does anyone have the experience if so many collisions are normal and that it is worthwhile to proceed?
    Some other questions:
    - can it be that the CMT changelist is also a reason for collisions of the later imported SAP CLs?
    - does each of the 11 CLs run into the same collision, e.g. if we have changed a SAP owned object that each of the 11 CL runs here into a collision, which would mean that we have actually only ca. 1000 collisions to resolve instead of 11000?

    Finally we have realized that the result: 11917 collisions, was not the number of the non-resolved collisions.
    If you perform the following SQL statement on ARS_DB, you can get an overview about the collisions:
    select state,count(*) from collision group by state
    state 0 means non-resolved collisions
    state 2 means resolved collisions
    In fact, we only have 67 in state 0.

  • Error while installing new com+ component SAP CRM Mobile Transfer 5.0

    Hello experts,
    I've upgraded crm/msa from 50sp6 to sp11. In SP11 there msa/mas use dot.net framework
    2.0 .
    For this I have to upgrade the commstation with note 1065337, but after deleting
    the com+ component DOTNET.TransSrv I cannot reinstall the new MsgTransServer.dll,
    I get error:
    you do not have permission to perform the requested action. If security is enabled on the system
    application of the targed computer make sure you are included in the appropriate roles.
    Has anybody similar problems while upgrading this ?
    I've checked MS-note 909444 for new user rights, but didn't help.

    I've registered the dll with command line execution as described in
    note 1036377. This should solve the problem.
    If you have still problems with admin rights on the server have a look on
    note 1036377.

      I could not see the BP replicated to R/3. The status is processing for 'BUPA_MAIN' type of BDOC.
    -I have set RFC (not trusted RFC)
    - At PIDE
             CRM->R/3 [ type A (classification) is mapped to 0001     (Account group)]
             and vice versa.
    Waiting for any sugessions.

    Hi,
    Admin console (subscriptions based on rep.objects & publications) is for the CRM outbound process, based on CRM changes -> cannot be used for the initial load.
    The download objects can be used for initial loads, and this in three directions: CRM-> R/3, R/3-CRM and CRM->MSA. If you wish to download data from CRM to R/3, select CRM as the source site and R/3 as the destination site in an initial load.
    Normally if your RFC settings and filters are defined corrrectly, you should get an indicator that the download is in a running state. After that you can check the queues (smq1 & smq2) and the bdocs (smw01) for the results of the download.

    I'm an XI developer, and I'm trying to get a handle on exactly when CRM Middleware (& thus a Middleware Resource) is required, and when it is not.
    If a customer is implementing CRM 5.0 (with IC Web)in a landscape with non-SAP applications, would they necessarily require a Middleware consultant?
    And if so, to what extent would that requirement be reduced in comparison to an implementation which interfaces to R/3?

    Hi,
    CRM middleware is used in CRM whether or not the system is linked to other systems (SAP or non-SAP). CRM is based on it. Eg. whenever you create or change an object in CRM, a bdoc is created which contains the data.
    The question is whether you'll need to use, influence or change the middleware in your project:
    Image having integration with R/3: then you'll need the middleware for setting up the distribution (initial/delta load) between CRM & R/3. But as long as you stick to the standard solution, this will be very easy to setup.
    Imagine having integration to other systems: then you'll need the middleware to interface to them (which can be done using idocs or XML).
    Imagine having a CRM-MSA implementation: then the middleware is used to send data to the MSA client. This means setting up the data-distribution to the clients, which can be quite complicated.
    Imagine having a stand-alone CRM system with an IC webclient and flows limited to the CRM system: then a middleware consultant won't have to much work.

    Transaction numbers are not unique
    System calls a function module GUID_CREATE to create a unique GUID everytime you create a transaction.
    Whenever you are creating some transaction programatically you will have to first create a unique GUID for the transaction by calling GUID_CREATE.

    Do you have any guide which specifies the correct Partner Product Ranges configuration for MSA application, I have been looking into some guides but I have not been able to get a guide or document which explain in detail how this configuration works. I have not been able to download accounts to my HH and I think the PPR configuration must be set correctly to be able to download this configuration.

      yes there is a senario configuration guide which clearly explains how to do PPR sttings for BP and products, it has been modified for MSAHH5.0 but is also applicable to MSAHH4.0. please follow the following link.
