RA&R Rule Script assistance required

Hi Forum guru's,
We are customising RA&R, Ver 5.3, SP 10 and require some assistance with the SQL script.  We are attempting to disable +-4600 rules at ACTION LEVEL and the tables we are referering to in the script are AC_RULE & AC_HEADER.
The script runs successfully and disables the rules, however the moment we re-run the rule generation background job, all the disabled rules are then re-enabled.
I am sure we are missing a table.  Can anybody provide some assistance, or has anybody experienced something similar?

Thanks for the advice, however this was done previously by a colleague on AC version 5.2.
I do agree that it is "safer" to disable the tcode/aut object from the function itself, however this would be quite
time consuming for over 4500 rules.
Would you perhaps know the tables that we could use in our Script?

    You are on Windows 2000, you do not have a "Firefox" button, and should consider yourself to be fortunate in that you still have menus and don't have to do anything to get the menus back instead of the "Firefox" button. (The same applies to Windows XP users).
    Use the "File" menu to get to Import. You are not on Windows 7 or Vista, and don't have to put up with the nonsense added for Aero.
    If you want the "Firefox" button you can get it with View -> toolbars -> (uncheck) Menu Bar. The menu bar and the "Firefox" button were supposed to be mutually exclusive (which is impossible in some cases without being incompatible).
    Once you are using the "Firefox" button ...
    Use the "Alt" key to view the menu bar (temporarily) containing File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Tools, and Help. On Windows 7 and Vista, the menu bar was hidden by default in Firefox 4 and above. These menu items are more or less available under the "Firefox" button which has the most used of the built-in Firefox menu items available in a different format.
    To get back to having menus again. "Firefox" button -> Options (second column) -> (check) Menu Bar

  • How to use variable in rule script in HFM

    I'm now writing VB script for HFM rule, and have something to ask about the use of variables in rule.
    The script below generates the following error.
    -Error description-
    Line: 4, Error: Invalid Expression
    HS.Exp "S#Actual.A#77300.I#[ICP None] = cur"
    An error has occurred in Hyperion Financial Management.
    -Rule script-
    Sub Allocate()
    Dim cur
    cur = 500
    HS.Exp "S#Actual.A#77300.I#[ICP None] = cur"
    End Sub
    On the other hand, the script below works properly.
    -Rule script-
    Sub Allocate()
    HS.Exp "S#Actual.A#77300.I#[ICP None] = 500"
    End Sub
    Probably I'm not using variables in proper way, but have no idea how to correct it.
    Does anyone have any idea?

    try this in the sub calculate:
    HS.Exp "S#Actual.A#77300.I#[ICP None]=" & cur
    For the sub allocate, I suppose that you do not have the issue because the allocate is not launch during the consolidation process. Allocate is launched separatly by a right click, and can only be done when calculation status = "OK", which means that all calculation have been done (that could not be the case if you have an error like this in sub calculate).

    You can use the Wscript.Echo result to check the requirement. The Data Type is only used to specify if the output is something like a String or Integer. Based on the type you just got some different options to check.

  • UCCX 8.5.1 Scripting Assistance - Set Priority

    When I put the "set priority" in the script it errors out and callers hear the message that the system is experiencing problems.  The script runs fine without the "set priority".  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    I attempted to validate the script and did get an error with the "Set Enterprise Call Info" step.  What's odd is that without the priority step the script still does not validate, but actually works fine.  As soon as I add the priority step to it though it breaks.
    I removed the "Set Enterprise Call Info" step and the priority works as expected now.  Thank you for your assistance.

    If the two arguments are always next to each other, then we can simply add that single phrase to the “specific words” list.
    If the two arguments are not always next to each other, then there is no way in Outlook to do this with a single rule but we can achieve this by creating 2 rules. See:

  • Script for Required fields acting strange on extra spaces at end of Name/Description

    Found this script on this forum, which I added to my submit button.

    Great script but the ERROR! popup was not coming up until I went into InDesign and removed extra spaces after "(g)" Description and Names.
    I am new at this, can someone let me know of any rules for naming these fields such as using underscores, or any other illegal chacters.

    The SQL in the script file is below.  To be honest, I have reduced it down to a simple select from dual and it still puts extra spaces at the end of the single line.

  • "There is a problem with this installer package - script is required to complete install," - please can someone clarify script supplied.

    I have downloaded EMET 4.1 but it will not install -
    "There is a problem with this Windows installer package. A script required for this install to complete. Contact your support personnel or package vendor."
    I have seen the same problem answered in the support section with a script posted as follows, and wondered if it would solve my problem - only  there is no explanation with it and I have no idea what to do with it! Forgive my ignorance but could someone

    Managed to get the installation sorted. Go to Control Panel, and where you have a list of all installed programs, repair all the Apple/Itunes related programs. Installation worked fine after that. Hopefully it helps you out too!

    I am trying to develop a Mail run script and I am running into problems. The Rule is being trigger because I have a change my color rule action and a script action. The color changes but the script does not appear to trigger at all. His is the script.

    Notice the tell block at the end. If I uncomment that, select a mail message and execute that in a script editor, all is fine.
    With that block commented out and try to execute it using the *Apply Rules* nothing seems to happens. Even if I put a Beep statement inside the "on perform mail action with messages theMessages" block, That does not even sound off.
    Anyone see why this would execute as a rule?

  • Script setting require an admin password to unlock preferences

    Hidden in System Preferences -> Security & Privacy -> Advanced is a button to turn on or off requiring an administrator level password to unlock various System Preference options. This will secure certain preference options as defined in the /etc/authorization file.
    When you turn it on it will set to true that those preference options are to be secured and when you turn it off it will set the control to false. By making a copy of the file /etc/authorization and then doing a diff of the before and after copies you can see the changes. (Or open both copies and scroll through them.)
    However it seems it also sets a flag someone where else to indicate which mode it is in, this I somewhat expected because it is possible to manually modify the settings in /etc/authorization and it would need some overall method of determing which mode it is in.
    My problem is that I don't know where this overall flag is kept, it does not appear to be in /etc/authorization itself although I may have missed it.
    Does anyone know where this setting is?
    With this information it would be possible to then write a script to apply the changes to /etc/authorization and also set that overall flag for the purposes of pre-configuring a computer when imaging it.

    That is a different question. Your initial question was about where the setting was.
    I never messed with the setting before and I have always had to unlock locked preferences.  I tried it just now, though, and it doesn't seem to do what it says it should. Maybe it does something but I don't know what it is.  You can try a restart or log out but I am doubtful it will make a difference.

  • Poor image quality on DVD made in iDVD - Urgent assistance required PLEASE

    I have imported pictures to form a slideshow in iDVD. The pictures are great quality and look good but the problem I am having is how distorted and blurry they become when burning the dvd.
    They look good for a split second when they transition in and then transition out, but become distorted whilst on display (set for 5 seconds)
    I need urgent assistance please with this matter.

    I agree with Bengt - there are better ways to make slideshows. Here is mine:
    There are many ways to produce slide shows using iPhoto, iMovie or iDVD, but they all have one thing in common: they reduce the quality of the photos to that of a movie still frame and sometimes limit the number of photos you can use.
    If what you want is what I want, namely to be able to use high resolution photos (even 300 dpi tiff files), to pan and zoom individual photos, use a variety of transitions, to add and edit music or commentary, and to end up with a DVD that looks good on both your Mac and a TV - in other words end up with and end result that does not look like an old fashioned slide show from a projector - you may be interested in how I do it. You don't have to do it my way, but the following may be food for thought!
    Firstly you need proper software to assemble the photos, decide on the duration of each, the transitions you want to use, and how to pan and zoom individual photos where required, and add proper titles. For this I use Photo to Movie. You can read about what it can do on their website:

    (Other users here use the alternative FotoMagico: http://www.boinx.com/fotomagico/homevspro/ which you may prefer - I have no experience with it.)
    Neither of these are freeware, but are worth the investment if you are going to do a lot of slide shows. Read about them in detail, then decide which one you feel is best suited to your needs.
    Once you have timed and arranged and manipulated the photos to your liking in Photo to Movie, it exports the file to iMovie 6 as a DV stream. You can add music in Photo to Movie, but I prefer doing this in iMovie where it is easier to edit. You can now further edit the slide show in iMovie just as you would a movie, then send it to iDVD 7, or Toast, for burning.
    You will be pleasantly surprised at how professional the results can be!
