RAC: CRS-0184 enable to commuicate with CRS

Hi
I'm installing RAC under VMWARE, when I execute crsctl start crs I receive the CRS stack will be started shortely, when I execute crs_stat -t I receive CRS-0184 enable to commuicate with CRS. I cann't find any think in the log files.

Seems that your CRS sevices not started ( evmd , crsd , cssd )
can you post op of "crsctl check crs"
start crs services using
"crsctl start crs "

  • VIP in 11g RAC with CRS

    Hi all,
    My system is a three nodes 11.1.0.7 RAC cluster with CRS (same version).
    I have a question about how VIP works.
    Notes:
    eth0 - public interface
    eth0:1 - vip interface
    eth1: private interface
    If I go down with eth0 (ifconfig eth0 down), VIP is relocated to other of the two remain network living nodes. Everything is OK at this moment and only listener resource in CRS stack is OFFLINE, even INST, GSD and ONS are ONLINE and remains in the first node.
    Then I go up with the public interface (ifconfig eth0 up). Now everything still remains in the same state... Nothing Change!!!
    Questions:
    - Node1 VIP resource should go back to the first node???
    - Listener resource should go online again???
    I can manually start listener resource or relocate vip to the node1 without a problem... but it should be done without manual word, isn't it????

    This is actually the default default behavior in 10.2.0.4 and 11.1.

    NODE1: srvctl start listener -n node1 -l listener_node1 => node1 vip relocates to node 1 and listener_node1 goes upnot sure, perhaps srvctl check about public, then relocate VIP

    Is it normal??????? It looks like any operation in CRS forces to check NODE1_VIP availability and make it goes up in original node??? Expected behaviour???
    When we use srvctl, instance check is performed, that check public ip -> resolved and then relocate VIP
    How about ?
    ORA_RACG_VIP_FAILBACK in the racgwrap script in the ORACLE_HOME

  • VIPCA and CRS-0184: Cannot communicate with CRS daemon

    I have some strange issue during Clusterware installation. I've installed software on 2 nodes, and have ran root.sh on both. On second node I've had problem with interfaces but it came through after using oifcfg for both public and private interface. Silent vipca executed by root.sh failed, but as it is said in docs it's ok. I need to run vipca on second node manually. But when I'm running it I'm receiving CRS-0184 Cannot communicate with CRS daemon. Daemons are running, there's no error running crs_start -all. I don't have any idea what can I do now.

  • CRS-0184: Cannot communicate with the CRS daemon.

    I am getting teh foll error when starting up a database
    [oracle@linux2 ~]$ srvctl start database -d orcl
    PRKH-1010 : Unable to communicate with CRS services.
    [oracle@linux2 ~]$ product/crs/bin/crs_start -all
    CRS-0184: Cannot communicate with the CRS daemon.
    From the available information on the net, I have already tried the below steps.
    a) Deleted all the files from /var/tmp/.oracle
    b) Ensured that the deamon is running
    [oracle@linux2 ~]$ ps -ef | grep crs

    The first error in the crsd.log file says
    2009-11-05 06:07:57.196: [  CRSOCR][3086907072]0OCR api procr_open_key failed for key CRS.CUR. OCR error code = 4 OCR error msg: PROC-4: The cluster registry key to be operated on does not exist.
    Also, I have the '/u02/oradata/orcl' for the OCR and the CSS Files. On thsi node this directory is empty.
    Whereas on the other node in the sam cluster, thsi directory contains the OCR and CSS files and their mirrors.
    Is my OCR corrupted on thsi node? How can I restore it??

    Both options result in a mount point that is managed by CRS. I refer to this as a managed mount point.
    The difference really comes down to what you want to do with it.
    If you want a mount point that you can use on all nodes of the cluster and that you can create dependencies on, then use srvctl.
    If you want a mount point that is node-local, then you can use acfsutil registry.
    If you don't have either of those situations, then you can use either.
    Generally, I recommend using 'srvctl'.
    As pointed out, you can easily create the resource using ASMCA.
    The advantage of this method is that you can create other resources, such as for user defined programs, and create STOP and START dependencies on the ACFS resource. This will ensure that the ACFS file system is mounted before those programs stop and start.
    Also, keep in mind that if you are planning on putting large numbers of ACFS file systems in the registry, you may run into some timing issues. The ACFS registry resource has a finite TIMEOUT value, and may run out of time to look at all the file systems\volumes and ensure that they are operating as expected. This is another case where the single file system resource has an advantage.
    In either case, add it and forget about it - it should just work. :)

    Hi,
    Check Alert log of Database Instance on that node.
    By default if Oracle Database Instance already is started in one node, CRS automaticaly start Database Instance automatically on others nodes.
    But if you issue "srvctl stop instance" before shutdown of node the state of this resource will be "shutdown" (i.e stay down) CRS database resource have by default the attribute AUTO_START=restore, which means Oracle CRSD will remember last state of that resource.
    In this case you must manually issuing "srvctl start instance" after startup of clusterware, but if database instance was running and you issued "crctl stop crs", crsd must start database automatically at clusterware start.

    Research:
    page 5-9 of Oracle 10g RAC Administrator's Guide, Oracle specifically stated to not change the host name after the install.
    The hostname becomes a part of CRS configuration, so changing the host name is not allowed.
    To change hostname in RAC environment reinstall  CRS...

  • Can listener be registered with CRS in 10.2 , 11.1 ?

    In 10.2, 11.1 VIP based listener is running from RDBMS HOME. Can this listener be registered with CRS ?

    I ran
    crs_stat -t | grep .lsnron 11.1.0.7 CRS. It is returning results with listener names. So, this means Listener resource can be registered with CRS in 11.1.0.7
    Couldn't check on 10.2 as I don't have access to 10.2 now.

    I have installed clusterware across 2 nodes recently in a virtual environment. I have been following a guide on how to do this and everything has gone as expected apart from when i try to run VIPCA manually (as detailed in the guide). When trying to run VIPCA on node 1 i get the following error:

    I was wondering if anyone had experienced the following error before and might be able to shed some light on why I am receiving it and how to resolve it to get VIPCA to run properly.

    Followed a metalink note which told me to use opmd.exe to set all the services created by oracle to manual. this utility also created a new service - Oracle Process Manager, which i take it controls all the other services that clusterware uses.
    This is working fine however the OracleCSService is unable to start, it simply hangs at 'starting' and doesnt do anything from there... this i think is the route of my VIPCA problems, so if anyone knows how to sort this out that would be great.

  • Help with CRS Historical Reports

    Hello, all!
    I use CRS Historical Reports to get information about the calls, that is coming to my Call Center. But I notice, that CRS Historical Reports generated reports with different info. For example, in the "Contact Service Queue Activity Report (by CSQ)" I have 15 calls abonded. But in the "Abandoned Call Detail Activity Report" I have 88 calls. May be I am doing something wrong. Please, Can anybody help me with this question?
    Call Center works with CUCM 6.1, IPCC Enhanced 5.0. You can find generated reports in the attach.

  • CRS Script: AutoAttendant option overlapping with internal extension

    I'm trying to have an AA.aef script with five options, you know something like: press 1 for Marketing, press 2 for Management, ....and press 5 for Customer Service. The problem is that the internal phone extensions start with 5xxx. Is there a way to have the fifth option on the aa menu and also allow the caller to dial the extensions directly?

    you can use 5 as your option however when you are using 1-5 or the 5xxxx you do a check so you should either use 5xxxx or use one of the 5 extension on the main menu and chose a option for dial by name or extension.
    selection 1 can be sub menu and any other 5 digit will be your extions.  The best practice is to seperate out the direct extension dial to a sub menu and have main menu with top options 1,,2,3....so on.
    If you are good with CRS you can get direct dial and all 5 options but its bit work and lot of script work not really recommended and in long run its not worth it.

  • Transport CRs and make them appear as CRs in dest. system

    I have a question about Change Request (CR).
    Suppose that I have system DE1, system DE2, and system PRD.
    Developers/customizers make changes in system DE1. CRs are then created in DE1.
    Next, because system DE1 is temporary (will be deleted later), developers/customizers request me to transport CRs in DE1 to DE2.
    My question is after transporting CRs in DE1 to DE2, is it possible that CRs in system DE1 will appear as CRs in system DE2 so that after DE1 is deleted, developers/customizers can go on making change these CRs in DE2 and then these CRs will be transported from DE2 to PRD? I know that normally, when transporting CRs in DE1 to DE2, changes are applied to DE2 but not appear as CRs in DE2.

    Yes, assume in DE1 we have CR "DE1K00002" which has made change to object A, B, C. After transporting this CR to DE2 & delete DE1, in DE2 a customizer makes change to object A (so makes CR "DEV2K00002"), not make change to object B & C. When transporting CR "DEV2K00002" from DE2 to PRD, in PRD we miss changes in object B & C.
    So by this way, the solution is to backup CR files in DE1, later we import these CR files to DE2, PRD and then import CRs in DE2 to PRD?

    I guess you made some typo in the above reply. If I've interpreted correctly..
    DE1 > DE1K900002 (changes to A, B, C) .. it goes to DE2 with the same transport number. So DE1K900002 exists in DE2.
    Now you're saying some developer changes the object A in another transport which will be something like DE2K9xxxxx. If you transport this to PRD, the obviously the contents of DE1K9xxxxx will be moved to PRD. not B, C which are there in DE1K900002.
    If you move DE1K900002 to PRD as well, then all A,B,C will be in PRD. if you want to move it to PRD later then you've to keep the datafile and cofile of the transport.

    You can only deauthorize everything to do that. Click on Account under Quick Links. You can deauthorize all five there. But you can only do this once a year.
