RAC - DBCA -silent deleteDatabase not deleting underlying datafiles
Hello All,
I have a small question. I recently deleted a RAC database on 11GR2 (Grid Infrastructure) using the following command as the database owner (oracle)
dbca -silent -deleteDatabase -sourcdDB mydb -sysDBAPassword mypassword -sysDBAUserName sysThe command execute properly. But I see the datafile structure is still under ASM. I'm wondering if the command should have been run as grid rather then oracle, because the documentaiton states:
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/install.112/e10813/dbcacrea.htm#BABIGJAH
"At this point, you have accomplished the following:"
Deleted the selected database from the cluster
Deleted high availability services that were assigned to the database
Deleted the Oracle Net configuration for the database
Deconfigured Database Control for that database
Deleted the OFA directory structure for that database from the cluster
Deleted the data files if the data files were not on raw devices
Thanks in advance for your advise and assistance.

Datafiles, logfiles, control files, etc. not deleted from OS
Hello,
I used the Database Configuration Assistant to create a database(v9.2) and at a later time deleted the database also using the DBCA. Why aren't the datafiles, control files, logfiles, etc. deleted from the Windows OS files. Doesn't the DBCA delete most of the files associated with the database being deleted. Do I have to restart the Windows OS for the deletion of the OS files to take effect. Thank you in advance.the Windows OS files. Doesn't the DBCA delete most

in advance.Yes, the DBCA is supposed to remove the various files. It sounds like an ownership/permissions problem. -
I can not delete the $ symbol from template "green grocer" under invoice templates!
I can not delete the $ symbol from template "green grocer" under invoices, how do I do it, so it will stay deleted and not just keep coming back?
Select the cells:
Go to Inspector >Table > Format > Cell Format > Number or whatever you want other than currency.
The table is actually a spreadsheet.
Take the time to investigate where all the formatting resides in toolbars, menus and inspectors, most of it is where you would expect to find it.

Can not delete data from table which is queried in my stored procedure
Hi,
Anyone knows how to fix it:
I have a table. In a stored procedure, I have a simple query running on this table.
When I want to delete one record from that table, I got error message:
ORA-04091: table *** is mutating, trigger/function may not see it.
Thanks first.Rick, the only time you should get a mutating table error is when a trigger is involved. FK problems have separate error codes (and would be a different problem than the one that started this thread). Using a DBA id check all the tables subject to DML by your function and by whatever calls your function for triggers. Only the owner or a DBA can see the existence of triggers on a non-owned table. This has caused some of the developers I work with to think tables that had triggers do not have them since they do not work under the owning or a DBA ID.
By your description of what you are trying to do in the function we do that all the time without problem.
How large is the function? How/When is it called?

Voice memos do not delete (1 hr of recordings)!
Where I find these "undeleted" voice memos. When I connect iPhone, itunes opens and on the top right I click iPhone. There are 10 tabs in total (Summary - Info - Apps - Tones - Music - Movies - TV Shows - Books - Photos - On This iPhone). I click On This iPhone. On the far left side, it lists from top to bottom Music - Movies - Tones - All of my playlists. The last one lists Voice Memo. I click on Voice Memo. I find 10 messages from June and July 2012, which I have deleted off of my iphone AND itunes. I want to delete these 10 voice memos. They are NOT on iPhone or iTunes. I tried searching through computer, but nothing is found.
So why not delete them now? I physically can't. I right click on the voice memo and there is no option to Copy, Paste, DELETE file. It only gives the option of playing the music. It is easier to see what I am saying so I am attaching a snapshot. Notice that the voice memos are on my iphone, but not in itunes. I looked all over itunes and there is not one voice memo. Also, under the Music tab, include voice memos is not checked.try this one.

Contact disappeared from iPhone but not deleted from Address Book on sync
FYI, I have an iPhone 3G running iOS 4.2 (the latest), and I have never so much as thought about MobileMe.
Until two days ago, I have had no reason to doubt that my iPhone's Contact list is the same as my MacBook's Address Book list. I now have no confidence that the same info. exists in both: I know for sure that at least one contact long present in both has disappeared from the iPhone, yet syncing all contacts neither returns it to the iPhone nor deletes it from Address Book! I need help troubleshooting this contact as well as verifying that there aren't other similar anomalies corrupting my data, hopefully without manually comparing all 685 entries...
Two days ago, a certain number, let's call it (310) 555-5555, popped up in my recents list as a missed call and in my visual voicemail. When I listened to the voicemail, I discovered that (310) 555-5555 was Jane Smith. I remembered entering Jane Smith several months ago, so I thought hmmm, does she have a second number? I tried to add (310) 555-5555 to an existing entry, only to find my iPhone had no entry for Jane Smith anymore at all! I did not delete her myself, and I'm not aware of any 3rd-party app that ought to have affected the entry. I haven't called Jane Smith or (310) 555-5555 in quite some time, so I have no idea how long the entry may have been missing. I searched the whole phone (left of the first home screen)
At the next opportunity, I looked in Address Book on my laptop, and indeed found the expected entry for Jane Smith, (310) 555-5555. I have no idea how she disappeared from my iPhone -- did I or some third-party program delete her? Or did it happen through some sync issue? -- but I naturally worried that when I next synced, the deletion would sync, too, and I would lose the Address Book entry, leaving me without Jane Smith's number at all.
Such an event would defeat the entire purpose of backing up my phone contacts to my computer; I just moved to iPhone this spring after being a Palm user since 1997, and the idea that iPhone might not be reliably syncing my contacts is frankly terrifying. I checked and saw that my Address Book listed 685 contacts to iPhone Contacts's 684, so I decided to risk a sync in hopes that maybe I had caused a one-off deletion. I wrote down Jane Smith (310) 555-5555 just in case and hit sync.
The results of the sync and my subsequent troubleshooting have seriously undermined my confidence in the fidelity of the sync process. The first time, nothing changed--I still had 684 iPhone, no Jane Smith, and 685 Address Book, including Jane Smith.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Now connect your phone and when it appears in iTunes on the left sidebar click on its name. Go to the Info tab and confirm than your have checked Sync Contacts with Address Book. Now further down on the Info tab under Advanced>Replace information on this iPhone check Contacts. Click Apply and sync your phone. This will replace the contacts on your phone with the contacts in Address Book. (When complete you can go back to iTunes preferences and uncheck "Prevent..." to re-establish automatic syncing if your prefer this.)

My I-pod shows up on my computer but is not recognized under devices in I-Tunes, any suggestions?
Hey corky60,
I'd go ahead and give the following troubleshooting steps a shot:
1. Try the iPod troubleshooting assistant:
2. Restart the iPod Service
3. Restart the Apple Mobile Device Service
4. Empty your Temp directory and restart
5. Verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed
6. Change your iPod's drive letter
7. Remove and reinstall iTunes
8. Disable conflicting System Services and Startup Items
9. Update, Reconfigure, Disable, or Remove Security Software
10. Deleting damaged or incorrect registry keys
You can read more about each step in detail in this article:
iPod: Appears in Windows but not in iTunes
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1363
I'd start at the top and work through the steps until iTunes recognizes your iPod nano.
Take care,

Why can I not delete a book from my iTunes library
Why can I not delete a book from my iTunes library. There are many books that I want to delete and replace with current books, but cannot remove the old books. Thanks Guy
Hey cjt101,
Thanks for the question. Was this song purchased from the iTunes Store? If so, it may be that your device is configured to show all of your purchased music that has not yet been downloaded. The following resource may resolve your issue:
iCloud and iTunes Match - iPhone

View only music that’s downloaded. Go to Settings > iTunes & App Store. Under Show All, turn off Music.

Books on iPad not shown under iPad tab in iTunes
For some reason existing ebooks on my iPad mini are not visible under the "Books" sidebar entry inside iTunes, under the "On This iPad" tab. I can add books to iBooks on the iPad by dragging them to the iPad icon inside iTunes, and the books transfer OK; they simply are not shown in the list in iTunes. I have another iPad which works fine, i.e. books on the iPad shows up in the list; same with an iPhone which works correctly. Alldevices have synch switched off so I manually add books (and music; music list works fine on all of them so it is only books having the problem).
This is frustrating since it means I cannot remove books from the iPad using iTunes. Deleting all the books on the iPad (by doing it inside the iBooks app on it), deleting the iBooks app itself, rebooting, and then re-adding books does not help. Also, the iPad in questio was recently reset using an iCloud backup which did not change the situation.
So any ideas why my iTunes insists there are no books on this particular iPad, even though iTunes happily transfers them?Firstly, make sure that your device is not hidden (left hand pane). If it just reads device then toggle between SHOW and HIDE.
Secondly, try all the other ports on your computer, even a number of times.
Thirdly, if you have another computer try plugging your device into it without taking any action, give it a moment, remove it and try it back in your other computer again.
Failing all that, see here - http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538 for Windows and http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1591 for Macs
And failing all that put the device into Recovery mode. See here and note the paragraph 'If you restore from a different computer.... ' down near the bottom of the page -

Emails are not delete from the handheld/server
Hello,
Our client has Blackberry 8330.
Emails are not deleted nor from the server nor from the phone. Maybe there any other setting set? Or are these settings set wrong?
Thanks you
He has these settings:
under Messages - Options - General Options, there's this field for "Keep message for" --> 2 months
The Options >Email reconciliation
Delete On: Mailbox & Handheld
Wireless Reconcile: ON
On Conflicsts: Mailbox WinsEndriuska wrote:
It looks like it only synchrozines mailbox to handheld(if deleted from mailbox, will delete from handheld), but will it delete from mailbox if the email is deleted from handheld?
As discussed in the KB I linked for you, it depends. If, in the top grid, there is a YES in the Wireless Deletion column for the subject email service AND you have further configured, as per the KB you found, for deleted item reconciliation, then yes it should delete from the server when you delete from the HH.
Note that there may be a time lag, however -- deleted item reconciliation tends to be one of the lowest priority activities inside of both BIS as well as the email providers systems...I've seen it take up to 24 hours (not normally, but that's the extreme that I've witnessed).
Further, I believe that the on-HH setting for "Keep Messages" should have no effect on the server...deleted item reconciliation is a function of the end user actually deleting from the HH...not the auto-removal by virtue of this setting.
Hope that helps!

Persistent messages are not deleted from JMS store
Hi,
I'm experiencing some unexperienced JMS store behaviour with WLS 6.1 sp 4. I have
a servlet that posts a message to persistent JMS queue, which will be eventually
consumed by an MDB. Even though consumption is successful, the message is not
deleted from JMS store.
The message will be redelivered after server restart and is still not deleted
from JMS store. I verified this using file store and JDBC store. The messages
actually stay in the JMSSTORE table till doom's day.
I couldn't reproduce the case with WLS 6.1 sp 3. Exactly the application code
was used in all cases.
Subsequently I ran the same case with various ServerDebug DebugJMSXXX-flags set,
and discovered that WLS 6.1 sp3 logs 'asyncDeleteL' and 'ZZZDelete' for the consumed
message. WLS 6.1 sp4 didn't log this information.
I'm running WLS 6.1 on WinNT and Win2000.
Comments?

I've am having exactly this problem with wl 5.1....
I first saw it with 5.1 sp8....
In the release notes for 5.1 sp10, the following CR was fixed, which seemed
like it might have been my problem:
CR 45915
Fixed a JMS problem with messages begin left in the queue after received messages had been acknowledged. When a high volume of
messages was sent to a queue and a consumer retrieved those messages and sent them to another queue, the messages were not being
removed from the first queue even though they were acknowledged.
We upgraded to 5.1 sp12, and it appeared that the incidence of that problem was reduced.
However it still occurs once or twice a week, with 5.1 sp12....
My situation is a little bit different, in that my consumer retieves a message, and sends another
message to the SAME queue instead of another queue as described in the CR above...
It does happen under heavy load, etc....
Don't know if this has been reported and identified for wl 5.1 sp12 or not...
It is of course a really difficult to deal with bug....

Outlook 2007 Email Sync Not Deleting Messages
Can someone help me understand how sync is 'supposed' to work? I access my POP emails and I understand that the iPhone does not delete the emails from the server. I wish they would fix that since I'm choosing the option to 'Delete from server'. However, if I delete the messages in Outlook and then perform a sync, the emails show up as new unread emails on the iphone. WHAT IS HAPPENING?? This is extremely frustrating since it seems that common sense indicates 'sync' would do just that?
If someone has figured out how to fix this, please email me at [email protected] Thanks in advance. With a POP account, the iPhone's mail client can delete messages from the server when downloaded with the following settings available by account.
Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
Select the POP account.
Select Advanced for the account settings.
Under Incoming Settings at Delete from Server, the options are:
Never
Seven Days
When removed from Inbox
The iPhone sync process with iTunes does not sync account mailboxes and messages.
Although a POP account can be accessed with more than one email client, it is designed to be accessed with a single email client only.
If you want the same new messages that are received at the incoming mail server server available with both Outlook and with the iPhone's mail client, you need to select Never for remove messages from the server with the account settings with Outlook, and with the iPhone's mail client.
When accessing an email account with multiple email clients, an IMAP account is preferable since all server stored mailboxes for the account are kept synchronized with the server automatically with each email client used to access the account.
Unless you aren't concerned about receiving spam at your Gmail address, you should never provide your email address out in the open at a public forum such as this. -
Message.saver is not working under 10.6 - anybody know of an alternative?
Message.saver 1.5.2 (http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/icons_screensavers/message.html ) is not working under 10.6. It is a screensaver that allows you to put a text on the screen as the saver kicks in. IMHO a excellent piece of software that worked fine under 10.5 but not under 10.6.
Does anybody know if there is something like it? and that works under 10.6?

DB Adapter polling : Not deleting the read records
Hi,
I have a simple BPEL process to poll a database table to delete records after reading them.I tried testing by inserting a single record into the table.BPEL is simply creating new instance (as it is not deleting the read records).
I am using fusion middleware version 11.1.1.3.0.
Also i am not able to view flow trace.I see a row under flow trace but there is no link to open audit trail or flow page. How to enable this.
