Radar plot with category label changed

Hi
I tried this example vi, Line Graph (Excel).vi, with some modification as shown in the attached picture. I changed the plot to a xlRadar. After I run the vi, I got the result as shown in another attached picture. I would like to know how to change the font size of the Category Label programmatically in my vi.

I thought that the example would work the same with the line graph and the radar graph, but it looks like I was mistaken. I attempted to drill down to the property nodes and change the font size there, but this was unsuccessful. Digging into the lower level VIs which the Set Graph Font VI calls, I could not find a way to do this either.
The problem stems from the Axis Type input on the Set Graph Font VI. The options are xlvalue, xlcategory, and xlseriesaxis. Certain scale types cannot be used with certain chart types. For instance, xlSerisAxis cannot be used with any chart type because it is only supported in 3D charts (which we do not support in RGT). Further, xlCategory is only valid with the xlXY charts and xlBubble charts--which the radar graph is not part of.
Therefore, you won't be able to change the category label font size with the built in functionality of the RGT. Since the RGT uses ActiveX calls to Excel to manipulate the graphs, if you wanted to build in this functionality, you could do so with ActiveX. Your best source for this would be the MSDN.

Recently my client asks me to change the category label color in a radar chart. They want the label show different colors as demanded.
Ex. question 1 to question 4 : Orange
question 2 to question 8 : Green
question 9 to question 12: Blue
I've tried every expression I know (iif, switch...etc), nothing works.

t find a property that can control the color of category group label in Radar Chart. It seems that the feature is not supported in current release of Reporting Services.

How to Change Chart Category Labels(X) Alignment?

Hello,
Does anyone know of a way to change the alignment of category labels in a line chart in Xcelsius?
The default appears to be vertical, but I have some long category labels that completely compress the chart, is there a way to angle the labels, wrap the text, or make them display horizontally?

Category labels fail to update in column and bar charts

I originally posted this comment in another thread (Re: Category labels fail to update). I thought I should repost it, as the issue still exists after installing SP1 Fix Pack 2 (version 5.1.2.0), and it wasn't clear from the previous thread that the problem had been logged.
If you have a bar chart or stacked bar chart, the category labels do not update with the underlying data when you have the "Horizonal (Value) Axis Labels" box unchecked. Same effect with a column chart if the "Vertical (Value) Axis Labels" box is unchecked.
I'm getting around the problem in the meantime by keeping the box checked but changing the font size to zero, which reduces the labels to small dashes, and then using a font colour that matches the background as much as possible.
... by the way, another issue I see in this same area is that although there are separate checkboxes in charts for choosing whether to display titles and subtitles, it is not possible to select just titles - both checkboxes appear to be locked together.

I didn't regard #2 as bug - in fact I thought it was helpful to be able to set the size to zero as a workaround to the problem outlined in #1.
Regarding #3, if this is by design, then I'd suggest that it's a poor design choice to have checkboxes next to both titles and subtitles, since this implies that they should be able to be separately controlled.
Something else I've noticed with this formatting area is that the position and offset controls are disabled, and there doesn't appear to be any way to use them. It would be very helpful to be able to use these to move the position of chart titles. In a dashboard I'm currently building, we have a large stack of charts sized very small, to attempt to resemble the 'sparkline' concept. But the chart titles are so high, it's not clear which chart they refer to (they look like they might refer to the chart above it). As a result, I've had to remove the chart titles and place independent labels over top of each chart to be able to position them closer to the chart's display area.

Category labels fail to update

Hi,
I have two charts which which are updated via a web service they are set to update using a cell value trigger, a combo box is attached to the cell and when the value changes the data is refreshed, both charts update but the category labels on the second chart fails to update although the bar chart is refreshed and the legends show the new values that should be seen in the category labels. Why are the new values not reflected in the labels? If I point a single value control at the same data the value is updated!

I'm observing a similar issue (version 5.1.1.0, build 12.1.1.344).

How to plot with multi colors in a single XY graph?

Hi,
  I'm making hesteresis measurements. In this case, I collect data while sweeping voltage first from 0 to 2V, and then back from 2V to 0V, and the data are plotted in a single XY graph. In the XY graph, I want forward sweep plot of one color while the reverse sweep with another color so I can easily make comparisons. And I want to see the data real time. I tried to wire "plot color" in "property node", but this will change the color globally and can not be applied to a section of data. Can anyone advise me how to do this? Thanks!

  Thank you very much for the reply, I really appreciate it.
  However I don't quite understand your descripton. Yes I do spit my data in two arrays, one for forward sweep, and the other for reverse sweep. I can plot with different colors in XY graph by appending several XY graphs into one, but by doing this I can not see the data real time. I quickly made a vi to demonstrate my problem, hope this will give you a better understanding. Thanks.

BP created with category Person and BP Role Consumer is not replicated

Hello Gurus,
I have created a BP with Category Person and BP Role Consumer but after saving my BP is not getting
replicated to ERP, though in the Clasification Tab i could see consumer is being selected and the Account
group 0170 - Consumer showing up.
I have also checked in PIDE transaction in ERP system this Account group has clasification E which is Consumer.person,and as numbe range is assigned to this Account group
i have checked in middleware there is an error message which says "BP XXXX doesnt not exist as customer,change not possible" and aslo one more message which says "no classification is assigned to BP"
any customizing is missing in CRM system, or only customiaing required is in ERP only?

Please find the below path in ECC
SPRO>Logistic General>Business Partner>Customer>Define Account Groups and Field Selection for Customers.
Select 0170 Consumer account grp and click on details. You will see the Number range in General Data.
Copy that number range and goto below path and check if the number range is internal or external.
SPRO>Logistic General>Business Partner>Customer>Define and Assign Customer Number ranges. The popup will appear and select Define Number ranges for customer master. Click on display intervals. You will see the number range is mainatined internal or external.

Problem with field label

Hello All,
I am having a strange problem with field label? I have created a table with three fields one is MANDT and and the remaining fields as PATID and PATNA.
I am maintaining the field label for these fields, but still i am not getting the names of the fields while i am calling the structure in my alv tree.
I d'nt know what is the problem here?
can any one tell me how can i solve this issue?

When reorder item's position, arabic labels changes into ??

I hope u can help me with this issue:
After re-ordering the positions of items (texts or check boxes) the Arabic labels of them changed into question marks,
who possibly can I prevent this to happen!!, so that each time I reorder items with Arabic labels they remain Arabic,
is it a problem of encoding?? if how shall I solve it !
As it is not convenient to re-edit the label each time the position has changed!

I was able to reconstruct your scenario, both on my local instance and on apex.oracle.com.
It seems like a bug in the drag&drop mechanism. It’s not only for Arabic, as I got the same result for Hebrew and Russian also.
For now, it seems that the only way to avoid this is not to use the drag&drop feature. If you need to change the layout of the items, you should do it manually, through the editing page of the item.

3D graph plot properties - cannot be changed

Hi all,
I still cannot change the plot properties of the 3D graph. I open the Plot Properties tab up and it gets stuck on the first page.
This means that I cannot release any VIs which use the 3D graph - a big problem.
Has anyone else experience this? What do you suggest to fix it.

I have experienced exactly the same behavior (can not change 3D graph plot properties) with 3D plots (scatter and surface) in LabVIEW 2011. The 3D plot properties page works correctly at first but then fails to switch pages after larger data sets have been loaded to the graph. For example, my scatter graph contains 13 plots, each with 320 points of data. Once the page "gets stuck" it is stuck for all 3D graphs until the offending graph is deleted and re-created. To reproduce this issue create at least one 3D plot with a large number of plots in it.
On a related note, if there was a programmatic method for deleting plots from a 3D graph then it's possible that this issue could be worked around.

Get keypresses from SVGForm with only label components.

I have a Screen class, extending SVGFORM, with only labels in it.No buttons or spinners and the like.
The SVGForm is displayed and on clock ticks, I change the label strings (telling time). So no input facilities.
The SVGForm has commands, Exit and pause.
The SVGForm is on its own thread, being Runnable.
all works nicely, but:
I need to act on the user pressing the "FIRE" button of the handset.
How can I get at the key code ?
keyPressed() does not catch it, somehow...
one more:
I put the SVGForm on its own thread. The program starts with a splash screen, then an input form to get some variables and then the clock screen starts and keeps running, that being the sole purpose of the program. When the clock is stopped , the program may exit. Is a separate thread for it necessary/a good idea ? or shouldn't I be bothered with threads at all ?

I have ended up with something that seems to be working finally.. it's very inspired by robotlegs probably.. I found the SQLite robot-legs-addressbook example extremely helpful and borrowed large swaths of code from it; it was really tricky for me to figure exactly what was doing what (especially because I wasn't aware yet of some of the finer points of debug mode and that thing where you cmd+click and it goes right to the function definition).. I got it working by adding handlers as arguments to the add/update/modify functions..
in the model:

That is allowing me to grab the info I need from the database and dump it into the component and back and forth. Probably a little less decoupled than robotlegs.. which I was looking at a bit based on its use in SQLRunner and addressbook, and was quite tempted, but I was on a tight timeline and it seemed very daunting up front; I didn't find a strong enough handhold on it, even though on paper it seemed like exactly the solution to my problems.
I will have to write model classes for some specific views to get the basic information out, but now that communication's going on everything seems a lot more attainable.

Explorer InfoSpaces on HANA Views - column label changes cause issues?

Key question is – do simply label changes in HANA view cause issues with Explorer InfoSpaces? Furthermore, on source view changes, does the InfoSpace also need to be adjusted?
What we have observed is this
1. InfoSpaces have been created using the “SAP HANA appliance” connection highlighted below. The corresponding “Home” screen is shown below that, so there are around 14 or so InfoSpaces that should be available.
2. Yesterday, there was a production deployment that contained some changes to the underlying views in the form of label changes (not column name changes).
3. Now, in the “Manage” screen we cannot see these same 14 InfoSpaces available under the expected connection. Instead, they are all available under the “Source Unavailable” node with the default action of “Change Source” shown.
Additionally, we are seeing some strange behavior where certain facets are actually containing the wrong data. For example, in a facet/column called “Source Type”, where the expected values are “NBP or PBP”, we are seeing Material numbers like “00001112453”. This leads me to believe that there is a mapping issue under the covers.

Our BOE Explorer is Version: 14.1.1 Build: 1072 - I’m not sure how this corresponds with your 69.01 to 74 numbers (release note numbers?).
But it sounds identical to your description.
One of our observations: if we change the sorting on a facet pane using the upper right sort control the values are corrected for a while, at least until we change a measure and the set of facets get updated with the miss-mapped values again. This only occurs on some models and we haven’t been able to determine what the underlying criteria might be that aggravates the problem.

Getting BEx query header data into Xcelsius for line chart Category Labels?

Hello - Is it possible to get header data from BEx queries into Xcelsius so they can be used for Category Labels in a line chart?
We have a BEx query that displays 16 weeks of shipment trends by column and text variables are used to display the respective date selection for each of the weeks in the query header but When connecting QaaWs to Xcelsius, the header row does not get displayed.
When using LiveOffice, the header row seems to come thru with the correct dates for each of the weeks but if you are stacking more than one connection than you will get an extra header row for each connection.
Are there any tricks to hide a header row in a LiveOffice document?
Is there anyway to display the header row from QaaWs in Xcelsius?
Any other work arounds?

Below are my inputs...
-->Using QAAWS you will not be able to get the header data, so you will have to maintain header data manually in Xcelsius (Spreadsheet).
-->Using Live office you will be able to get the header data, and if you are using multiple live office connections, then you need to use cell reference formulas and format the spreadsheet (Xcelsius) as you require.
