Raw material succeeded in marking while failed in release
Hey, guys,
After last period closing, we found some raw materials succeeded in marking while failed in release.
We maintained a new planned price for next period, and after we finished ck40n, the planned price had appeared in the future, meaning it had been marked successfully.
However, after we finished CKME, we found it failed in releasing planned price. The last period's price still remained in the current period.
What are the possible reasons?

It is only about 100 raw material has this problem.Other raw materials succeeded in both marking and releasing.
I have checked all possible reasons you guys said, but none of them applies.
Unfortunately, the system log has been deleted by our basis administrator.
Is there any other possible reasons ?

Freight cost to be included in the Raw material cost while creating VL31N
Hi all,
We are purchasing raw material from other country. we are paying freight for the imported material.
My requirement is, when doing inbound delivery freight cost has to be included in the raw material cost.
Now its not getting included in the raw material cost.
What are all the necessary steps to be done to include the freight cost into the raw material?

You can create dummy material inmaterial master record.
You can enter the material manually while creating inbound delivery, which will come as unplanned delivery cost.

And as you know the internal order settlement is a way to create a multiple account assignment
Can we solve the problem by making an automatic fake transaction that reverse the value of the GR/IR and creating another transaction can apply on it the settlement rule??

Optimization of raw material while issuing from the stores
Dear Techies,
I need a small information regarding,Optimization of raw materials of "arc shape "while issuing from the stores it self.
I will explain this with an example.
Say we require a flange ring.This flange ring can be manufactured using three -120 deg segments.
while calling the raw material below the flange rings material ,we have to give raw material dimensions of " 1X120 deg segment".System will accordingly multiply for the requirement of 3-segments.
In this situation is there any possibilty to " Club" the raw material to minimize the scrap,ie., we can accomdate another segment just below the other segment.With this type of arrangement I can optimize raw material required.
Is there any possibility in SAP that I can address this situation.

SatyendraThis is a complicated procedure in sap and there are some problems. Techincally sap allows you to sell only finished goods. IN the latest ecc6.0 patches it allows you to sell raw materials also.
Otherwise you need to change the settings for Material type in Logistics general to get the views that you want to maintain.
Now coming back to reality it depends on whether you are registered as a trader /dealer or you are a manufacturer. If you are not registered as a trader then there is a procedure in excise called As is sales. There is no value addition here and while you can add a mark-up slightly you have to pass on the duties to your buyer what you have taken credit on your vendor side.
If however you have dealer regn too then you can clear it as a regular sale maintain the rg23D for the material as well. The onus is on you to prove what went into manufacture and what traded.
In the case of as is sale there is a sap note on this. please see.

You can try using MB51, use filter movement type 261. Add a filter for the posting date coverage.
Then proceed. Click on the icon DETAIL LIST.
Then click on the SUBTOTAL, add MATERIAL as a Criteria. The click the column AMOUNT IN LC.
You should see the total issuances to per material.

Batch Traceability for Sugar as raw material during the production process
In AMSB the batch traceability in some production processes is very difficult, especially in case of sugar where tanks wherein more than one batches of the same material can be mixed. For example, in a single day almost 17-20 batches of the same material can be mixed and as the result is a composition of water and sugar the normal FIFO rule strategy cannot be applied during the component consumption.
The raw material (sugar) is received in tank S5 at different points of time, and its content is transferred to tank B1 for storage purposes as well as for mix the sugar with other material such as water.
At a specific moment the S5 tank contains only a single batch, while the tank B1 contains more than one batch. Tank B1 is used in order to supply the production line and the corresponding material consumption is triggered in backflush as soon as the production activity is declared (production confirmation). Along with the material consumption the batch determination takes place and a complex algorithm is applied: at a very high level, the single batch is consumed depending on its percentage inside the mix of composition and in case the this
percentage is under a threshold level the current batch should be full used in order to avoid that it will exist for ever.
Moreover, the good movement reversal (reversal of material consumption) and its correction lead to a complete new calculation of all the batches consumed after the original movement date/time. This means that the algorithm for batch determination should be reapplied for all the consumptions subsequent to the original movement.
On the other hand it’s not possible to identify the mix of batches at the exit point of silos B1 because the total consumption of the material in the tank will never happen. As long as the tank level decreases it will be filled up from the tank used for receiving of sugar (S5).
As requirement AMSB needs to post the material consumption starting from EWM, this means that EWM should be the master system in this case and the correspondingmovements have to be transferred to ECC afterwards. This mainly because EWM should guarantee the business continuity in case the ERP system is not available.
AMSB asked if the scenario depicted has been implemented in some customer, in EWM system or in any other SAP solution.Hi ,
At the time of consumption you can put ' * ' aestrix sign in the batch field.
You will get list of batches of that material.select ur batch and consume the quantity.

QM for raw material 103 mv. type
Hello QM Gurus,
Please help me in following senario,
When I am doing GR for the raw material, I am posting the stock to blocked stock through 103 mov. type.
In system the inspection lot is being created but it is not in released status, although inspection plan is properly defined, hence I cannot do the result recording for the lot.
If anybody can suggest where the problem is.

Amit Shirsath.I'm listing out some common mistakes because of which the Lot wont be in REL status.
First in MM03 QM view -check for the inspection type(01) and 05 for other GR to be active.This should be fine in ur case since your are saying the lot is created.Make sure the check mark Automatic assignment to be checked ,Check characs and also Insp with task list.
Second-Make sure the inspection Plan(QP01 display) was created with the same Key date as the Insepction lot or even earlier .The key date can be checked under qa03 to display Insp lot.
Third-make sure the Usage is the same as in the Inspection lot.The usage is the one which links the Plan to the Lot .It should be 5 for GR from PO and 53 for other GR in the insp plan. You can check the Inscpetion lot usage by going to QA03.
Check all these, ur problem should be solved.Please let me know if there is any furthur problem.And also reward if helpful and close the thread.

Price list change according to raw material cost
Dear Experts,
We are currently working in a client where for those products for which the raw material is the main component as the cost of the raw materials varies with a high frequency (daily or weekly) the list price (the price we want to invoice to customers) should be updated accordingly and automatically with a specific mark up.
Have you found a similar requirement in any client? If yes, could you explain us from a functional perspective how (SAP standard functionality or custom development with a detailed explanation of the solution) you solved this requirement?
Is there any procedure to do regular massive updates of Finished Good price lists based on the actual variation (and/or expected variation) of raw materials cost?

It is possible to determine the price based on the raw material cost. I dont know whether you are using Moving average price or standard price for the raw material cost.
Whatever be the method, when you create the sales order, it is possible to take the raw material cost on the date of order creation using one of teh cost condition types like VPRS. You can use this condition type as statistical.
You can also have another condition type which is the mark up on this cost.
Now you can calculate your grossprice using another condition type which total up the cost in VPRS condition type adn the mark up %, either through just configuration or by means of a calculation type routine created in VOFM adn then assigning the same for the gross price condition type.

We have executed CK11N of current period for single Raw Material ( w/o quantity struc. Selected in material master) and saved it, but when try to mark & release the material for the current period, the system displays a message as u201COf 0 materials, 0 cost estimates were updated successfullyu201D. Its newly procured raw material.
When we check in KEKO, KEPH & CKIS table the entry exists, but we are not able to execute the standard price for this raw material. In the start of this period we have executed CK40 for all the material (including raw materials) has been updated with standard price.
We have deleted the costing run couple of times and recreated the cost estimation,but of no use.
We have activated Material Ledger and this raw material has price control u2018Su2019 with price determination u20183u2019. We are in ecc 6.03

We are facing this problem for all type of material. Once we save cost estimation in CK11N and when we try execute once again CK11n for the same material system is calculating Cost estimation again without error message and we are not able to Mark & Release the Cost estimation.
Normally the system will not allow to calculate the cost estimation,if the cost estimation has been already calculated.
We have currently changed price control S from V for all type of material to maintain Standard cost from Actual cost.
Do suggest,if we have left out any config settings.
We are facing this issue in production client.

Cost Estimates taking raw material in CK40N
Dear Experts,
We are running Costing run using CK40n by selecting site & article
type:ZMTG. (Only Finished Product)
But Standard cost is displaying for ROH/VERP in CK13n/MM43.
We only want to carry out std cost run for only ZMTG article.
In Costing varinat Priority is set for "Valuation Price according to price control" so the value give is correct. But the standard price field is getting updated in material master for Raw Material.
I want to know usually whether it used to take like this, if not where i need to make changes so that it should not take while costing the finished product.

It does not matter if the standard field updates with cost estimate, coz it does not effect financial results at all, reason behind the price control which is moving average for RAW materials.
Secodndly, it is helpful for you to find out the price of material when cost estimate was exucuted, coz it will not change until your further cost estimate run.
Raw Materials are part of BOM, so system always calculate their prices to reach at price of finish product, but system does not post any price change document for raw materials.
Further u can confirm using tcode CKMPCD
