PDA build error when using a 'value change' event on two controls
I get a build error when I use a 'value change' event on controls of a different type or even a different numeric representation. I'm using LV 7.1 PDA with no other modules installed. Attached is a picture of the entire code and the error message.
Try to take over the world!

PDA Error.jpg 48 KBHi,
I verified the error that you are seeing. It appears to be a bug hence I have reported it to our developers. Hopefully this bug would be fixed in the next relaese of the PDA module.
Thank you for pointing this to us. It is through feedback that we can make LabVIEW PDA module even better.

Error: Specify secure port in the property Using ports 7001/7002
Hi,
I have two node cluster using WL6.1, and Solaris.
Then, I also setup NSAPI plug in, and specify 2 nodes
in obj.conf file. But I tried to browse the URL.
I have "Secure port in property..." error message.
I check the SSL property in domain->servers->SERVERNAME
Enabled:checked
Listen Port: 9002
Server Key File Name: config/mydomain/demokey.pem
Server Certified File Name: config/mydomain/democert.pem
Server Certifiled Chan File Name: config/mydomain/ca.pem
Is the above correct setup?
What am I missing?
Thanks,
// hiromu
Ok.. That makes more sense.
So, before we fix the error message, I want to understand your architecture.
You have NES(Iplanet) proxying requests to 2 managed servers that are
clustered.
Your managed servers also have the HttpClusterServlet setup to proxy back to
those two instances? I think you may be a bit confused.
The HttpClusterServlet is usually installed on another instance of
WebLogic(managed server) if you are not using Iplanet, IIS, or Apache as a
frontend WebServer. When you use the HttpClusterServlet, that WebLogic
instance will act as a WebServer proxying requests to OTHER backend WebLogic
Servers.
In your case, you probably do not need to use the HttpClusterServlet as you
are using Iplanet to proxy the requests.
In any case, here is the fix to your problem:
Refer to:
http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs61///////adminguide/http_proxy_cluster.html
The documentation says the format of specifying the defaultServers is
host1:port:secport|host2:port:secport.
Therefore, you need to add the secure port even though you aren't using it.
Let's assume your secure port is 9002, then your entry should be:
<init-param>
<param-name>defaultServers</param-name>
<param-value>cyberia:9001:9002|sun-timmy:9001:9002</param-value>
</init-param>

My Application gets Error 37 when using Serial Port VIs.
My Application works fine developed with LV 6.1. Then I updated to LV 7.1 and now the Executable of my application gets error 37 when using the old serial port functions. The "serpdrv" file is located in the application directory and is from 02/2002. The application runs well in the development environment after I placed the "serpdrv" file in the LabView directory. I tried to put a line with "serialDevices=..." in the .ini-file of my application but this did not cause an improvement. I also tried to rebuild the EXE with this line in the "labview.ini" file but nothing changes.
Does anybody have another idea ?
Many thanks for help
Thomas>Did you actually replace the old serial functions that come with 7.1 with the functions from 6.1?
Yes. E.g. "open serial driver.vi" uses "open device" with "serpdrv" as device string.
I had the same problem running my application as VI´s. After the copy of serpdrv into the LV 7.1 directory everything works fine.
I don´t understand why the application running as a .exe doesn´t find the serpdrv when it is in the same directory....
Nevertheless many thanks for your answer

EPMCFG-10368 error when trying to use port 1251
I have worked with EPM11 for a few years but am new on working with server-side issues. Our team is phasing out the use of port 1521 and are using port 1251. Does EPM 11.1.2.2 support port 1251? If so, are there instruction in how to set this up? is there any alternatives other than 1521 and do I need to configure this outside of the EPM System Configurator.
Right now, I am stuck in the Configuration process because I cannot connect to the database. It support all ports if they are open (if your firewall is not blocking it)
I would recommend you to use the EPM System Configurator itself to update the connections.

Celvin

Oracle 11g install failure, error, Failed to allocate port(s)
I'm having a very hard time reinstalling Oracle 11gR1 x64 bit after the hard drive where I first installed it failed and had to be replaced. The database I'm trying to setup is for personal use on this system only. I'm running Windows XP professional 64 bit edition and have .net framework version 1.1.4322.573 installed.
During installation the process hangs at the Database Configuration Assistant stage and will not progress till I manually end the lsnrctl.exe process in taskmanager. During the completing database process at the end I get this error -
SEVERE: Failed to allocate port(s) in the specified range(s) for the following process(es): JMS [5540-5559],RMI [5520-5539],Database Control [5500-5519],EM Agent [3938] | [1830-1849]
My first thoughts were the ports in question were in use or closed but I've been using both netbios and a port monitor program called currports to check and as far as I can tell the ports listed are open and not in use.
I did reconfigure the tnsnames.ora and listener.ora files to include valid port addresses (1521) and I can get the lsnrctl.exe to start manually now but still can't connect to the database using an open SQL command prompt.
I also tried running the emca.bat but still no change. I need help, I'm beating my head against the wall now.
Here are my etc/hosts, etc/services, and emconfig.log files

Error 412 whilst using ASA5520 for VPN
Hi
Hope somebody can help. I'm trying to use a new ASA 5520 to terminate my remote access VPN's. The remote clients use the cisco VPN client V5. I'm using the configuration below and testing using a laptop directly connected into the same VLAN as the outside interface. I can ping the outside interface, but when I try to connect using the client I get Error 412: Peer not responding. Debugging ISAKMP on the ASA shows no attempt to connect. The laptop will connect to our existing VPN without a problem.
Does anyone have any ideas that may help me out.
Many Thanks
Rob

prompt hostname contextWe have the same Problem with VPN-Client V5. But the Version 4.8 ist OK.
The only difference between this two Versions is, that V4.8 uses Port 500 as Source Port and V5 uses Port 1501 as Source Port. Both Versions uses the same pcf-File.
I have captured the packets and this was the only difference in both Packets.
But I don't know, how I can fix this Problem.
Do you get a solution since your posting?

How to use Default value in a column in Tabular form in insertion or upda
Hello,
I am trying to use Default values so that user need not have to enter data, but when I select default type and put a default value, I see an error message, if I try to add a new row.
How can I use a default value in a Column in a Tabular Form?
Gouri
Edited by: user1046395 on Apr 3, 2009 9:58 AMGouri,
You can just simply edit to each column's report attribute. For example,
To set default date,
Default Type: PL/SQL Expression of Function
Default: sysdate
To set default text,
Default Type: PL/SQL Expression of Function
Default: *'CLERK'*
If you still have an error, what is the error message?

How do I use Port Mapping?
b How do I use Port Mapping?
(This document will assume that you are using and ABS/AEBS/AX as an internet router and have DHCP & NAT turned on.)
Sometime you may want to offer access to a computer on your AirPort network to users on the internet, whether it be a web site, or for file sharing, or just remote access for yourself when traveling. If any of these sound like something you want to do, then you need to understand how Port Mapping works.
b AirPort as Firewall
Most of the time your AirPort base station will not let any traffic into your network which did not originate from your network. It will let everything out and replies to your traffic back in, but it will not let sessions initiated on the internet side of the base station in to your network. This is what is referred to as the "NAT firewall" capability of the base station and it provides effective protection for your network from the internet. What Port Mapping does is poke a hole in this wall to allow certain type(s) of traffic into the network and direct this traffic to a specific computer on the network. In the firewall world this is commonly referred to as an "inbound proxy" or "inbound translation" rule or "PAT" (Port Address Translation) in the router world.
b The Need for Manual Addressing
Since a Port Mapping entry in the base station configuration requires an inside private IP address to be specified, the computer to which to mapping entry applies should always have the IP address specified in the mapping entry. Thus, DHCP should not be used for a computer offering services on the internet as the Port Mapping entry will no longer work if the target computer's IP address changes. In general, an Apple base station's DHCP server will try to assign IP addresses in the 10.0.1.2 to 10.0.1.200 range. IP addresses above 10.0.1.200 can be Manually assigned to computers and other devices on the network up to 10.0.1.254. 10.0.1.255 is reserved (it is the broadcast address for the 10.0.1 subnet). To Manually set up the TCP/IP information for a Macintosh running Mac OS X, go to System Preferences -> Network and "Show" the appropriate interface (Ethernet or AirPort) and click on the TCP/IP tab. Select "Configure Manually" and enter the following information:
IP address : 10.0.1.201 (or whatever address you decide to use)
Subnet mask : 255.255.255.0
Router IP : 10.0.1.1 (the AirPort base station LAN IP)
DNS server : 10.0.1.1, or whatever DNS server IP your ISP uses
After making these changes verify that your computer can still access the internet and local resources on the LAN before continuing.
b Port Mapping a service
In our example we will be hosting a web site on a computer which we have given an IP address of 10.0.1.201. Basic web sites are accessed using the HyperText Transport Protocol (HTTP) and this protocol typically uses port 80 to communicate. In order for others to see the web site, we must configure a Port Mapping entry in the base station configuration to not only allow the web browsers in, but to tell the base station what IP address the web server is using. The Port Mapping entry has three parts: Public Port, Private IP, and Private Port. In this case you would use the following values:
Public Port : 80
Private IP : 10.0.1.201 (this is the computer hosting the web site)
Private Port : 80
In order to access the web site from the internet, users must reference the base station's WAN port public IP (determined by looking at the base station configuration summary page in the AirPort Admin Utility). Since this address may change over time, you might want to use a Dynamic DNS service to simplify connecting for your users.
Sometimes the port you wish to use may be blocked by the ISP. In this case, use a different non-standard Public Port number for the service, but keep the Private Port standard. In the above example, if the ISP was blocking port 80, you could potentially use 8080 instead, so:
Public Port :Public Port : 8080
Private IP : 10.0.1.201
Private Port : 80
Your users would then have to enter "http://<publicIP>:8080/" (where <publicIP> is the public IP address of the AirPort base station) to access the web site.
b Internal Access
It should be noted that when accessing these services from within the network you cannot reference the Public IP/Public Port, but rather you must use the Private IP/Private Port. Thus, "http://10.0.1.201:80/" in the above example.
b Limits and Options
There is a maximum of 20 Port Mapping entries that can be made in an Apple base station configuration. If you use an AirPort Extreme or AirPort Express base station there is an option which can be helpful in the case where you need many ports opened to a single computer. This is the "Default Host" option. When using this it is not necessary to use Port Mapping at all as all ports will be opened to the specified "Default Host". This is found in "Base Station Options". The default IP address for the "Default Host" is 10.0.1.253. You may change this IP address. The target computer must be Manually configured as specified above with the same IP address. Since all ports are now open to this computer, you should enable and configure the Mac OS X firewall on the default host computer to protect it from intruders.

How to use Table valued MSSQL function in OBIEE
Hi all,
Can some one help me to understand how to use table valued function in OBIEE? I want to use a table valued function (MSSQL function, with some input parameter), in the physical layer to pull the data?
I know for MSSQL Stored Procedure we can write as
EXEC SP_NAME @Parameter = 'VLUEOF(NQ_SESSION.Variablename)'
but now I have a table valued function in the query window I can get the data as
select * from myfunction(parametervalue)
In physical layer of OBIEE I have tried as
select * from myfunction('VLUEOF(NQ_SESSION.Variablename)'), but I'm getting error as the NQ_SESSION variable doesn't have a value , but actually I have initialized the variable but still Im getting error.
Can some one help me to solve this.
Thanks,

Can you use the value from a numeric indicator in a numeric control?
Hi!
I have to develop a code where I have to find the maximum value of a waveform and draw a line at 50% of the value. So I chose to find the amplitude of say 10 cycles of waveforms and found the maximum value out of the amplitudes.
But my real problem is, I have to use the maximum amplitude value that I get from the max. array VI and put it back in program to calculate the 50% value.
So is it possible to use the value from a numeric indicator and put it in a numeric control? Like in MATLAB or C, you give the variable a name and use it later to do any computations. Is it possible to do something similar in LabVIEW?
Solved!
Go to Solution.Hi!
Thank you very much for taking some time out. I have been trying to do this since 2 months and I am stuck right where I am.
The situation is, I have to calculate the amplitude of the irregular waveform for a few trials and then find the maximum amplitude out of the trials and display a line at whatever % of amplitude the user chooses. I tried using property nodes but I am getting Error 1055 for some unknown reason. Then I decided to draw the line using DC offset but it turns out it calculates the amplitude each time and so the line keeps dancing everytime. Now my challenge is to have the amplitude calculated for say, 20 loops and then calculate the max from that. I ran out of ideas so I am posting here. I am using LabVIEW version 8, and I'll upload a few of my attempts. I hope I am not troubling you'll much.

I have two forests with a transitive on-way trust between them: PROD -> TEST (test trusts PROD). I had previously had kerberos authentication working with winrm from PROD to machines in TEST. I have verified the trust is healthy, I also verified users
in TEST can use WINRM with kerberos just fine. Users from PROD cannot connect via kerberos to machines in TEST with winrm.
I have verified the service has registered the appropriate SPNs. I ran dcdiag against all my PROD and TEST domain controllers and didn't find anything that would prevent kerberos from happening. I even tried disabling the firewall entirely on my TEST dcs
but that didn't gain me anything.
I've enabled kerberos logging but only see the expected errors such as it couldn't find a PROD SPN for the machine, which it shouldn't from what I understand, it should go to the TEST domain and find the SPN from there.
I'm really out of next steps before I call PSS and hope someone here has run into this and could provide me some next steps.

-Change the authentication method; add the destination computer to the WinRM TrustedHosts configuration setting or use HTTPS transport.
Note that computers in the TrustedHosts list might not be authenticated.
-For more information about WinRM configuration, run the following command: winrm help config.Hi Adam,
I'm a little unclear about which SPNs you were looking for, in which case could you confirm you were checking that on the computer object belonging to the actual destination host it has the following SPNs registered?
WSMAN/<NetBIOS name>
WSMAN/<FQDN>
If you were actually trying to use WinRM to connect to the remote forest's domain controllers, then what you said makes sense, but I was caught between assuming this was the case or you meant another member server in that remote forest.
Also, from the client trying to connect to this remote server, are you able to telnet to port 5985? (If you've used something other than the default, try that port)
If you can't, then you've got something else like a firewall (be that the Windows firewall on the destination or a hardware firewall somewhere in between) blocking you at the port level, or the listener on the remote box just isn't working as expected. I
just replied to your other winrm post with steps for checking the latter, so I won't repeat myself here.
If you can telnet to it and the SPNs exist, then you might be up against something called selective authentication which has to do with how the trust was defined. You can have a read of
this to learn a bit more about selective trusts and whether or not it's affecting you.
Cheers,

Error Message "No logical port exists to call web services" installing SM7
I am trying to use SLM to download a service stack. However, the option is not available in step 2.5. There is an error message "No logical port exists to call web services". I have performed the Wizard install, but the Wizard seems to have left out this step. I have looked around for documentation on how to configure the port, but cannot find anything more useful than comments to the effect that I should configure the port.
I found the problem, I think, although I am now on to the next problem. "Web Services for software lifecycle manager not available'.
The documentation is lacking. When the RFC connection is set up, the user id is j2ee_admin, using the install password. This is not specified anywhere in the install instructions that I could find, there is only a reference to a 'user id and password'.
The LPCONFIG is used to create a logical port, that ties the RFC to the LP. However, no name is specified that is to be used for the LP. -

You are trying compare String and int..! which is not possible try to case the txtIn.text to int using parseInt(txtIn.text).
ORIGINAL:
if(txtIn.text != ADD_TASK).---->error : Comparison between a value with static type String and a possibly unrelated type int
tasks.addItemAt(new Task(txtIn.text, 0, ""), e.rowIndex);----> error:Implicit coercion of a value of type String to an unrelated type int.
EDITED:
if(parseInt(txtIn.text) != ADD_TASK).---->error : Comparison between a value with static type String and a possibly unrelated type int
tasks.addItemAt(new Task(parseInt(txtIn.text), 0, ""), e.rowIndex);----> error:Implicit coercion of a value of type String to an unrelated type int.
