RC and java-installation

I tried to install the java runtime enviroment on the german version of Win7 RC and during installation i got the message "dekomprimation of core-files failed". Thereafter started a rollback of installation  of java. I tried several downloaded  files from the java site, but always with this errormessage. I took always the latest version of java runtime.
What´s to do now...any idea..??
Thanks for help

1. Do you have any previous version of Java Installed? --> uninstall all
2. Clear the C:\Program Files\Java -folder after you have uninstalled Java all Javas from add & remove program
3. You should check the C:\Users\%username%\AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java and clear it before you start the installer package again.
4. If the installer fails again please run the jrexxxxxx.msi with /l parameter and specify a log path. Also check the Windows event viewer for MSI-installer errors.

  • Pogo Website and Java Installation

Uninstalled old Java that came with computer. (SP2 installed on it).
    Installed Java 5.0.
The problem is this: I got to Sun Java's website to the confirmation page where it shows that it has been installed and it says it hasn't. Have tried loading a Pogo room and it won't load at all saying that Java is not installed.
Runnin WinXP and Mcafee Firewall. No other versions of Java on her computer except VM Java which takes forever to load a Pogo room.
What steps can I take to fix this?

Also as I see I did not mention it is my install that is wrong this much I know. Seeing as the test applet wont work as well. Im sorry I didnt clear this up before. It is not Pogo's fault but the installation. I have uninstalled MSJV with the removal tool provided by Microsoft and tried too install the latest version of Java. When I saw that it didnt work uninstalled and tried too re-install with the offline download. Which didnt work either. I have configured both my internet browsers too work with Java (Firefox and IE). Any help would be appreciated.

  • I can't run java installer. This may involve firefox. My firewall is turned off so that I can install java, but something is still blocking the installation procedure, and java's support page doesn't seem to offer an answer.

University tech support says their online course system prefers explorer to firefox, and something they and the java download site both say about allowing pop-ups and disabling the firewall make me thing that part of the problem is with firefox's compatibility. But honestly, I don't know. I just know that I'm following all the directions I can find and it doesn't seem to be working.

#Download and SAVE the Java installer to your hard drive,
#*SAVE the installer to your Desktop so that you can easily find it
#exit Firefox (Firefox button > Exit '''''OR''''' File > Exit if using the Menu Bar),

    Hi,
I'm assuming you're machine is OS X (please include this in the future, avoids assumptions).  Are you using anti-virus software, if so, if you stop/exit the anti-virus software, does the installation proceed?
If not, or if the installation still does not proceed after stopping the anti-virus software, please try the offline installer, posted at the bottom of the Installation problems | Flash Player | Macpage, in the 'Still having problems' section.

  • Uninstalling Older J2SE Updates and other Java installs

The add/remove programs in XP shows the following:
    J2SE Development Kit 5.0 Update 4.0 280 MB
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 2 117 MB
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 4 118 MB
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 6 119 MB
Java 2 Runtime Environment, SE v1.4.2_03 107 MB
I could use more hard drive space and want to remove some unnecessary installations. This has probably been asked before many times, but I could not find an answer and would appreciate it if someone could direct me to an article or documentation explaining if all these are necessary.
    Thank you,
    Rich

They are all independent and you only need to keep whichever one(s) you want.
The J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0. . . and Java 2 Runtime Environment, SE v1.4.2_03 107 MB allow you to run Java program developed by others.
The J2SE Development Kit 5.0 Update 4.0 280 MB allows you to create Java programs. It needs the corresponding Runtime version.
To minimize possible problems, I recommend that you uninstall in reverse order of install, then reinstall what is wanted.
The current Java version is 5.0 update 6.

  • Java - difference between "critical" and "software installer

I would like to push out the latest java updates to out workstations via ZCM patch management, however I am confused be the difference between the update packages available. The machines are windows 7 with ZCM v11.2.0 and already have a (slightly older) JRE installed on them. The ZPM java package labeled as impact type "critical" states the following in the notes:
"All web browsers are required to be shut down in order for Java JRE to be updated successfully"
The ZPM package labeled as impact type "software installer" has nearly identical installation notes, save for no web browser must be not running disclaimer like above.
Since 95% of our user base in the school district is most likely going to be using a web browser at any given time, I would give the success probability of the "critical" option as very low. Is it OK to use the "software installer" impact package? Is it truly not dependent on browsers being closed, or was that an oversight in the notes? What method do any of you use for reliable java updates?

I stopped using ZPM for Java and Flash installs. I actually right an AutoIT script that I deploy out to my laptops via bundle. It closes the browsers, uninstalls older versions of Java, and then installs the latest version I provide. What I found on some of our Java (browsers) based apps, specifically the gradebook and attendance programs, the ZPM deployment would install the latest with the older versions as well. This caused masive issues with after three updates those programs stop working.
I still have some deployment issues where a teacher will have java based failures or a failure to install the latest version correctly. But compaired to what was done before I have cut my failures in half if not more.
Nice thing is I can still view the Patch deployment in Patch Management as this deployment method is in process.

  • HT4592 Airport and Java update installation problem

I tried to install the recommended updates, but the Airport 5.5.3 and Java for Mac OSX 10.5 Update 10 1.0 wouldn't install because they couldn't be verified.  What does this mean?  I don't understand why Apple would need to verify them, or be unable to verify them, if they come from Apple.  Also, I've been having trouble with video on my MacBook Pro and am wondering if this problem could be related to the installation issue?

I just tried the updates again and these were the error messages I received:
For Java: The Installer could not validate the contents of the ‘JavaForMacOSX10.5Update10’ package. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance.
And for Airport: The digital signature for this package is incorrect. The package may have been tampered with or corrupted since being signed by “Apple”.

  • BI Java Installation: Clarification Needed!

I'm wondering if someone could help clear this up for me:
We have installed NW2004s SPS08 on Solaris with only the usage type EP (AS Java/EP). Awhile back I was tasked with connecting our BW ABAP system to our Portal ("Integration into the Portal" - transaction SPRO etc).
After starting this task I noticed I was missing things that the instructions were telling me to configure; i.e. Items that were related to BI that weren't in the Portal such as certain roles, the BI Repository Manager etc.
Reading around, it seemed like I need to install the BI usage type.
I have now been tasked with another installation of the Portal (NW2004s SR1 this time), but am trying to head off the problems I'm experiencing trying to connect the Portal to our BW ABAP system. This will be a Java only installation. I've read that BI-Java requires EP and AS Java, and that if I install the BI-Java usage type, EP and AS-Java will be installed automatically.
My question is, if I do the BI-Java installation and it automatically installs EP/AS-Java, will the Portal still act the same way as it does in my EP/AS-Java only installation I already have? We have many plans to use the Portal as an entry point for all of our backend systems, so if the Portal's capabilities are not what we see already (in our first installation of just EP/AS-Java) then we will have problems.
Any clarification is greatly appreciated and I will award points accordingly.
    THANKS!
    Beau.

I think that's what I needed to know.
I was actually wondering about DI as well. Our developers are having problems deploying .EAR files to our original EP-only install. They can deploy .PAR files with no problems, but .EAR files always error out. Maybe having DI will solve this problem as well? I'm a little concerned about the hardware capacity of this box with having BI, EP and DI all installed on it. I had contacted SAP about installing DI a while back and basically they had told me to install it on a seperate server, by itself. We're running a Sun Enterprise 420R, 4G of memory and a 450 mhz processor for this new installation. Do you think this box is capable of handle EP, BI and DI (AS-JAVA)?
    Thanks for your help!

  • I need to know the right tools and java technology

Please help,I need to know the right tools and java technology to support what I need.
    I had background programming in Assembly,C++,Visual Basic,SAP/ABAP 4.
All I can say, programming is about logic, now we are very helped building program using objects.
I'm very interest to SAP tech, where all screens, programs, reports are resides on tables, this is the real dynamic!
CUrrently I'm eager to do the same technic with java. I'm new to java....
What I know the J2EE is the core for me to start is it right? I was very interest with the Client-Server Tech. How can I impelemet this with Java?
I'm a bit confuse with so many java solutions. There is Java Applets, Swing, Java AWT, JavaBeans, etc...
I don't know what is the best if I want my Presentation/Client Application will run within browser (not standard html, using like windows gui). What should I do to make business logic objects, how to invoke it within the gui. how to make installation package whenever clients connect to the http server.
if you have a pointer to do it please let me know.... I'm very appreciate all your response...
    Best regards,
    Lucky Pangemanan

I'd say - don't get carried away with the heavyweight frameworks. Don't use EJB if Hibernate and/or Tomcat will do the job. There's a danger of winding up using a bulldozer to crack a wallnut.
What people mean by "J2EE" varies a fair bit.
Start with Tomcat, which has the virtue of being free. Try some JSPs and servlets.
Use Applets to do client side presentation only if you must; Applets create an installation overhead on end-users, and some of them can't cope, while others may not have the necessary installation permissions on their office machines. They are pretty rarely needed, IMNSHO, most client-side behaviour is better handled with html and JavaScript.

  • Java installer does not open browser the right way

    Windows 7 SP1 x64
    Hi,
since no direct feedback to Oracle is possible (feedback form does not work), I'm using this forum for feedback. The feedback is meant for Oracle but I appreciate any input from the community.
At the end of the installation process the Java installer opens the default browser and navigates to a Java/Oracle website. The call is not made using the default way by invoking the standard browser. However the installer seems to open the main exe of the default browser by circumventing standard procedures.
Example: My default browser is Chrome. Registry settings are set in a way that the browser is opened with specific path variables like a non-default cache path and size and some other variables. Everything works fine and all calls to display any URL are made using the registry settings provided. If I open any URL the browser will open using the specified variables. The same is true for any program that tries to open an URL. The only exception is - of course - Java. The installer opens Chrome directly by circumventing the default settings thus resulting in Chrome opening up with completely different settings.
Let me tell you how deeply dissatisfied I am with such a behavior. Programs should invoke browsers using standard system calls. If Java had done this Chrome would have opened with default settings.

    please?
It is a big problem, because also the search does not work propperly.....

Try to get into your machine and if you do, the first thing you do is backup your files to a external drive. (not TimeMachine) via regular drag and drop methods.
Disconnect this drive. and all others.
You can then c boot off the installer disk for your OS version and under the Utilities menu is Disk Utility > Repair Disk
Also you can totally reinstall OS X, shouldn't effect your programs or files (but backup all files just in case)
If that don't work, c boot off the installer disk again, this time use Disk Utility to Erase >format HFS+ Journaled with Security option > Zero All Data (will take some time) This will totally wipe the drive of everything and is a last ditch effort.
When it's done quit, and reinstlal OS X.
You'll have to go through the setup and reinstall your programs and files from backup. Secret is use the same user name and drive name as the previous time so your iTunes folder will work without a hitch.
If you restore from TimeMachine, it's possible whatever problem you had can return, but you can try and if it doesn't work, just repeat above without TimeMachine.
Later look at free Carbon Copy Clone your boot drive to a external HFS+ Journaled formatted drive and keep in a safe place, it hold option bootable, great if your hard drive bites it, or TimeMachine gets hosed. TM isn't bootable.

  • Install  ERP ECC 6.0 with EHP4 and JAVA stack (usage type)

    Hi all,
I need to install ECC with EHP4 and also JAVA stack.
I know that I have to install 2 stacks with different SID and oracle homes, firts I have to install ABAP stack and then the JAVA stack, but wich usage type should I choose for JAVA STACK?
What I would like to have in my new installation would be the same usage type for JAVA stack like ERP 6.0 SR3 ABAP+JAVA stacks.
    What should I choose?
    Regards
    Thanks

    Hello,
SAP ECC 6.0 allows ABAP and JAVA but EHP4 this feature is not.
One thing I can suggest if you install ABAP stack first, it will initiates (even different SIDu2019s) the JAVA stack also.
So JAVA stack having a protection with ABAP, because you know JAVA stack is a very sensitive and time consuming one when you want to start are stop.
So you can do this sequence

  • Which application server supports EJB 3 and Java EE 5?

    Hi all,
I want to develop an application using EJB 3.
I was planning on using JBOSS 4.0.4 as application server, but I am not sure whether EJB 3 is fully supported.
Which application server supports EJB 3 and Java EE 5?
    Thanks

Just install it using the EJB3 profile in the installer. Don't use the "All" profile
