Rdf containers problem

Hi, I have a problem creating a RDF container, I create a blank node type seq and insert the members, but when I do querys it return the name of the blank node and it does't return the members.
I dont know if I'm inserting the triples with errors or if my sql query is the problem.
If Someone can tell me how I have to do my querys (not the documentation of Oracle) and inserting the members to the blank node.
serious of much aid.

Hi,
Could you send your creation scripts and query scripts to [email protected]?

• What are advantages of EJB

Well, I have read all class of J2EE books and worked a lot on EJB, so I think, that I do know, what I am speeking about. But I still can't get the spirit.
My point of view is the following:
EJB is a very (extremely) modular architecture, which is theoretically innovative, but in practice..?
It is so extremely modular, that you have to pay an inmense overhead for it (descriptors, EJB-Containers, problems of testing, performance problems etc..)
Ok, there is scalability, security, support of multiclients, distributed transformations
but : security is not(!) standardized.
support of multiclients is in the great majority of cases allready done by a simple webcontainer.
Use of remote ejb-clients and distributed transactions are rare exceptions.
It is somehow awful, to test ejb, because you need remote interface for test-client, but after testing you have to convert to local interface. The more, you can't get J2EE server for more than 30 days but JBoss that is not documented.
So give me back the faith please
What are the advantages?

Consultants are paid the GDP of a small country to answer questions like that! They'd examine everything from the throughput to the development team as well as the financial risk of concurrency/security problems.
Such a generic situation can only be answered in similarly generic terms:
J2EE is "worthwhile" if the costs/risks to your business inherent in not supporting concurrency and security combined with the costs/risks of redesigning the system to be scalable outweigh the increase in costs/risks of development using J2EE.
Since one side of this balance is almost entirely determined by the development of the application it isn't unreasonable to say that the abilities of the development team will be a major factor in whether J2EE will be "worthwhile" to your enterprise. A good J2EE development team will make light work of complex enterprise applications that another development team might struggle with (and most likely make a bad job of).
So, in general:
PROS: read the J2EE spec
CONS: if you don't need it then it's overhead (but isn't everything?)
It's horses for courses.

• I'm getting this error 'Unexpected installation error -203 when installing add-ons'

this occurs when I try to update existing extensions or install new ones. I have followed the information in this article but neither solution helps. Windows firewall has firefox listed as an exception, and i tried deleting the files suggested
o extensions.ini
o extensions.cache
o extensions.rdf
the problem is still there... any ideas?

They are also for the Mac. If the first link that cor-el posted is showing information for Windows, in the right hand column underneath where it says "Help with", select Mac OS X and Firefox 3.5-3.6

• A new window used to open windowed, now always opens maximized

Clicking on "Print" inside of maps.google.com opens a new window.
It used to open windowed, not maximized and always in a certain size.
Firefox crashed, had to restart the PC and now this new window always opens maximized.
I want new tabs maximized (eg, clicking the + button) , but if an application opens a new window, I want it windowed, not maximized.
I deleted prefs.js and localstore.rdf, the problem still persists
Firefox 24

If the page uses a script to specify certain window dimensions, then Firefox usually will honor those dimensions.
However, if the new window is launched without that information, the window typically will have the same size/state as the current window, or maybe the last closed window.
The information about window sizes and positions is stored in the same file as toolbar customizations. You can get rid of this file without doing a full Firefox reset. Here's how:
Open your current Firefox settings (AKA Firefox profile) folder using
Help > Troubleshooting Information > "Show Folder" button
Leave that window open, switch back to Firefox and Exit
Pause while Firefox finishes its cleanup, then rename localstore.rdf to something like localstore.old
Restart Firefox. Hopefully now your window behavior will be back to the default.

• Every time I launch Firefox it pops up an error stating "Firefox could not install this item because "install.rdf" (provided by the item) is not well-formed or does not exist. Please contact the author about this problem."

Firefox could not install this item because "install.rdf" (provided by the item) is not well-formed or does not exist. Please contact the author about this problem.
The statement above is in the pop up error box every time, when I launch Firefox. If I click ok in the box Firefox then opens. How do I fix this initializing/launch problem?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).<br />
See Troubleshooting extensions and themes and Troubleshooting plugins
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.<br />
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the Safe mode start window to disable all extensions.<br />
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")<br />

• Text selection problem in linked containers

Hi,
I get a strange behavior on the selection of text in a textFlow with several linked containers (from the latest SVN version it seems).
The problem occurs on the following case: http://lafabrick.com/labz/tlfTest/ (source code enabled)
If I select some text in container D to A (or vice versa): display of text selection is correct.
The problems are:
- If I select some text in the containers B or C, and that I move the selection to the right or left: the container is moving ...
- If I select some text in the containers B or C, and that I move the selection to the up or down: the display of the selection is not normal (I have a "blinking selection")
TLF version : 502 (715519)
Regards
fabien

Hi Richard,
Would you like to said that this fixe is not present on the SVN (/trunk) ?
In this case it's of course a bad news for me: my app can't takes all benefits of TLF for now (and for MAX...).
But a good news for all ! It means that TLF is perhaps soon to release !
Thanks a lot.

• I'm having a problem with unresponsive tabs after deleting localstore.rdf

After the update to 4.0 b7, I had a problem with my toolbar resetting, which I (somewhat) fixed by deleting localstore.rdf. Now, however, my tabs are unresponsive when clicked, and Firefox is essentially locked onto the first tab. Ideas?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
See Troubleshooting extensions and themes and Troubleshooting plugins
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See Basic Troubleshooting&#58; Make a new profile

• Any Problem in Running 9.0.4 rdf on 10.1.2 AS?

Hi all,
Recently my company is migrating the Oracle Application Server from 9.0.4 to 10.1.2 Patchset 3. I find that the rdf created by Reports Builder 9.0.4 can be run directly on AS 10.1.2. But I am not sure if there is any potential problem about this?
Should I compile them on Reports Builder 10.1.2 into rep files before running on AS 10.1.2?
Thank you.
Regards,
Rayyen

if all you care about is your users then yes and no. I don't believe an ldif dump will include a password attribute. If you don't mind recreating the passwords, then yes.

"RDF Error occurred" is a generic error message and might be from a number of causes (there are more meaningful error messages in the next patch release, 10.2.0.3). The likely cause is an error due to leading blanks in an object literal string or a null object literal string. For example " Oracle" and "" cause this error during load. This has been fixed in 10.2.0.3. A special patch including this and other fixes for RDF is being made available also. I will post details here as soon as it is ready.
For now, the best option might be to process your data and remove the leading blanks and re-write the null strings as "NULL" and re-try the load. The special RDF patch should be ready in a couple of weeks.

• Problem opening RDF

I an unable to open a RDF file in Report builder (Oracle Reports R6i). All other RDF file open normally but only one does not want to open. I tried to convert to REX but with no avail. What is the problem with this file and how can i correct this>

was the reports file to be opened also produced in reports6i?
Probably it was made in 9i or 10g. In that case this won't work.

Firefox could not install this item because "install.rdf" (provided by the item) is not well-formed or does not exist. Please contact the author about this problem.
Well that is the message i get. I can still use firefox(version3.6.8)

You get that error if an extension is using an old and no longer supported method to install a plugin.
Which plugin are you trying to install?

• VariableScope problem with sequence containers (SSIS 2012)

Hi,
a co-worker of mine experienced a problem with variable scopes in SSIS 2012 when copying a sequence container.
This is what he tried to do:
Create a sequence container with a data flow task and a script component
Add variable "a" with scope set to the sequence container
Add "a" to ReadOnlyVariables in the script component and assign it to a variable within PreExecute() in the script
Copy the sequence container (with DFT and SC)
Rename (or remove and add new - doesn't matter) variable "b" with scope set to the new sequence container
Change variable in ReadOnlyVariables of copied SC to "b", change it in the script as well
Now when executing the package, one of the sequence containers will always fail. Interestingly enough, it is not always the same but switches seemingly randomly. It doesn't matter if the script is written in C# or VB.
The following error is thrown:
Exception from HRESULT: 0xC0010009
       at Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Runtime.Wrapper.IDTSVariables100.get_Item(Object Index)
       at SC_f8fa68ce667a42d2b4b154c26831db5f.Variables.get_VarForCopySeqC()
       at SC_f8fa68ce667a42d2b4b154c26831db5f.ScriptMain.PreExecute()
       at Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Pipeline.ScriptComponentHost.PreExecute()
In this case, VarForCopySeqC is the variable used in the copied sequence container, but the failing one is the original sequence container.
Does anyone have an idea how to resolve this? Thanks in advance for anyone helping us out here!
Regards,
Thorsten H.

If the variable is scoped to the Sequence Container then you could leave it as is in the new Sequence Container too. Why rename it to "b" ?
Granular scoping makes the package debugging and maintenance a lot more difficult because you have to bring the component in focus to see its scoped variables. It is easier to have package-scoped variables IMHO.

• Problems opening RDF's...

Let me start by saying my office just upgraded to 10g from 8i. All my reports were originally developed in Oracle Reports Developer 6. I installed the latest reports builder (10.1.2) from oracle.
I seem to be having a problem opening my reports. If i open the reports developer and use file-->open. The reports open fine. A bit cumbersome to use the 'file-->open' method when i was able to either double click on the report or even drag and drop the report into the builder. I re-associated rdf with the rwbuilder.exe in the bin folder and they still dont open when clicked on. I also pasted the report on the root of my C drive to make sure there weren't any spaces in the path name and tried opening them. Is this a problem others are experiencing??
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Mike

3 Different Developers using Report Builder 10.1.2.0.2 on 3 different desktops. We are accessing them in from a NAS but, like i said in my previous post, we can access/open the reports using 'file-->open'.
Is this issue known to happen to other people using report builder. I never had this problem on earlier versions of report builder. At least it doesn't crash every 5 minutes though.... gotta give a little to get right?
