RDS 2012 R2 Collection - Published Remoteapps not visible

Hello,
I have a strange issue with a RDS Deployment I´m setting up for a customer.
RDS Roles setup:
Server1: RD Licensing / RD Gateway
Server2: RD Connection Broker / RD Sessions Host / RD Web Access
I´m all done with the LOB Apps as well as adding ~30 users and migrated their profiles, I have set up UPD etc. All is working great and I´m almost ready to take it into production...apart from this annoying thing.
I have created a Session Collection and published some remoteapps.
However when I log in to the rdweb site it doesn´t show the published Remote Apps.I have tried to unpublish / republish, reboot and so on to no avail.
How can I troubleshoot and solve this?
Sure I could delete the session collection and create a new one, but what will happen with the created UPDs that has all the customized settings for the users (store all ?
Can those be redeployed to the new Session Collection ?
Also, I cannot be sure that this will even fix the issue.
Any advise are very welcome.
Thx /Tony

Hello Darmesh,
I did not assign any specific permissions, domain users is set. I ended up moving the RDGW role to the RDSH server though I know it´s not BPA. However this customer does not have more than one available Public IP. And as they wan´t to use both RDWeb and
RDP through RDGW that was the solution. Othern than that I had to fix 2 things in IIS on the RDSH.
1. Change the RDWebAccess Application Pool identity from ApplicationPoolIdentity to NetworkService
2. RDWeb/Pages-Applications
Settings, put in remote.company.com as value for "DefaultTSGateway
Volia it works. As a sidenote I also added the "reghack" ShowInPortal" value
1 so the full desktop connection is also available in the RDweb portal, not supported I know, but will keep it for now.
Any comments to this solution ?
Thx /Tony

If you are running multiple roles on the RDSH  server you may need to increase the size of the memory available for powershell remoting.
Run Set-Item WSMan:\localhost\Shell\MaxMemoryPerShellMB 1000 with powershell as an admin and reboot.

  • AD RMS 2012 Templates/Permissions [Option] is not visible at Outlook 2013 in Nokia Windows 8 Mobile Device

I have AD RMS 2012 Server, its working fine by applying restricted Templates/Permissions on OWA, Outlook & other MS Office Tools (Word Excel, PowerPoint). But the AD RMS Templates/Permissions [Option] is not visible at Outlook 2013 in Nokia Windows

Actually I would like to protect email with RMS templates (defined by me on AD RMS 2012 Server) but the [Permission] tab is not visible at Outlook 2013 in Nokia Windows 8 Mobile Device.
But I can do same with Android OS in Samsung Galaxy Mobile Device & I can see [Permission] tab as well to protect an email messages.
    Any idea??

Currently, you can't use WP 8 to protect docs/emails with ADRMS templates. YOu can however use transport rules on Exchange server side to configure automatic ADRMS protection.

I am new to Dreamweaver and I recently inherited our website to maintain, using Dreamweaver CS3.  I made some updates to a page but after I "put" them the changes are not visible.  Here is what happens; If I go the our website to view the page, hover over the main menu for the page, then scroll down and pick the page the page is unchanged.  If I then click on any other page then go back to the page I changed, my changes show fine...not sure what I am doing wrong that the changes are not posted immediately.
Please feel free to check it out.  www.brattonsteel.com, hover over products, click stair systems.  If you see my changes, you will see three names, phone numbers and email address near the top.  If you don't see them, click a different page, then go back to the stair systems page and you will see them.

    Hello,
    I Have 2 servers ( SRV1 and SRV2 ) both running Server 2012 R2 and are included in a single collection "Apps".
I wanted to know if it is possible to tell RDS that a specific application should be available from a specific server only ?
For example, to publish notepad and calc, but calc should be available only from SRV1.
    Thank you

  • BI Publisher Tab not visible in Windows 2007 with Windows 7 64 bit Config

    Hi All,
I was working with BI Publisher till last week in my system having windows 7 64 bit edition with Windows Word 2007 installed. When i started my work on Tuesday this week, i was not able to see the BI publisher Tab in the Word. But it's visible in Excel. I tried looking in to the forum and got solutions such as Enabling Macros, Enabling the Trust Access to VBA Project Model and Re installing Word and BI Publisher.I tried everything but still the issue is not resolved.
I dont find any *.exd file present in my system to prevent the Add-Ins from displaying. I'm not sure what update had made the BI Publisher to be hidden. Please let me know if you any suggestion or workaround as my project is in critical state with strict deadlines.
    Thanks,
    Bala Maheshwaran

If you cannot show the BI Publisher Macros in Word :
    1.     You have to uninstall the BI Publisher desktop
    2.     Install the BI Publisher as (Right-click on the "Command Prompt" item and select "Run as administrator".)
    3.     If you cannot show the BI Publisher macros and in word options show TBmenu as disable you have to do :
    4.     Click the Microsoft Office Button , click Word Options, and then click Add-Ins.
    5.     In the Add-ins box, identify the add-in that you want to enable and note the Add-in type located in the Type column.
    6.     Select the Add-in type in the Manage box and then click Go
    7.     Select the check box for the Add-in that you want enable and then click OK.
    8.     Close the word
    9.     Reopen the word , than appear the BI Publisher

  • Web service published but not visible

    Hi,
I have developed a Webservice from a WSDL file i created from a XI outbound interface following the steps given in the thread below.
    /people/sap.user72/blog/2005/11/17/xi-how-to-publish-wsdl-generated-from-xi-to-uddi
In the UDDI Client i got the message that the WS has been successfully published but i am not able to view my Web Service in the WS Navigator.
What is the procedure to view a WS published using the UDDI client? is there any direct url to view the WS?

This is the url inside my WSDL:
    http://cgnsap27:8000/sap/xi/engine?type=entry&version=3.0&Sender.Service=SATYAM_LSPM_BS&Interface=http%3A%2F%2Fsatyam.com%2Fxi%2FLSPM%5ELspm_SampleIdHelp_MI
If i try the URL i get this :

    - <SOAP:Body>
    - <SOAP:Fault xmlns:SOAP="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">

  • RDS 2012 - Session Collection Timeout vs Group Policy Timeout

    Which policy applies?
The RD Session Collection timeout or the group policy?
My Remote desktop servers are in an OU at a top level with all of my other servers, so I have a administrative timeout group policy which is extremely strict to keep our administrators off server consoles. But for the RD farms I would like to have a less
strict policy so that users only get disconnected overnight and not if they go out to lunch (as an example)
I know one way to do this is to write individual group policies, but that removes the ease of control by configuring each session collection timeout via the Session Collection.

    Hi Robin,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
You can configure timeout and reconnection settings on a per user basis by using the Remote Desktop Services Extension to the Local Users and Groups snap-in or to the Active Directory Users and Computers snap-in.
Timeout and reconnection settings configured by using Remote Desktop Session Host Configuration will take precedence over timeout and reconnection settings that have been configured for a specific user account.

  • Published Manual not visible

I have published a RoboHelp 10 help manual to a sharepoint 2010 site, but users who don't have the software installed on their machine cannot see the manual.

What do you mean by "the software"? Is this the application your manual relates to? They should still be able to access the SharePoint site manually, or are you saying they can't?

  • UAG/RDS RemoteApps not authorised for?

    Hi all,
We have setup a UAG as gateway in front of RDS 2012. We published Remote Desktops and RemoteApps using a tspub file.
I can succesfully logon to UAG and also open published Remote Desktops.
The problem is with RemoteApps. When i try to open it i get a message "The connection was denied because the user account is not authorized for remote login".
Thats strange because when i logon to the RDS Web Server (internally) i can access the RemoteApps.
I am member of the Remote Desktop Users on the broker and Session Host servers hosting the RemoteApp.
In RDS 2012 i am also granted access to the RemoteApp, and even on Collection level i have granted myself all permissions.
I cannot think of a blocked port issue as RemoteApps use the same port as Remote Desktops (3389).
On UAG it self the RemoteApp is having All Users Authorized.
Seems to be an issue with UAG. Does anyone have an idea?
    Greetz and thanks.

    Hi Rob,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
For running RemoteApp outside environment there are certain basic things which need to take care for.
    - As you have deploy RD Gateway server, please check whether you have configured RD RAP and RD CAP properties well.
    - After configuring that properties, we also need to create one RD Managed computer groups where we need to add all the server under that specified groups.
    - In IIS manager, please update the FQDN name of farm under Default RD Gateway.
    - We need port 443 for RDWeb.
    - We need certificate signed by trusted authorities (can purchase from public CA) and the certificate must be placed under Local computer/Personal Store.
    - For a try uncheck the option “Bypass RD Gateway for local address” in your RDS deployment properties.
You can check the setting to configure RD Gateway with following link.

    Dear Community, My Devices:
HP T520 Flexible Series TC  T6X52011 with ThinPro Operation System (latest available). I'm trying to connect to a Windows 2012 R2 Remote Desktop Services Farm  - with Session Broker enabled. Connection Works without any issues, but the USB Redirection to the Members of the "Session Broker Farm" won't work. Connection to a RDS 2012 R2 Server, who is not member of a Farm/Session Broker , is working fine, USB Device (Stick) is displayed at the Terminal Surface. Connection to the same Farm with a Windows 8 Client works fine - also with usb redirection. I tried serveral settings at the RDP Connection Properations @ ThinPro, but no success. Does Anyone have similar issues ?

  • RDS 2012 R2 Separate Session Collection Behavior

Hi everyone!  I should start by saying that I've found a number of threads which are semi-related to this topic, but they just don't seem to address my particular complaint.  I'm not sure if this is a bug, a configuration error on my part, or if
it is expected behavior (which would be unfortunate for my intended use cases).
The issue is that I need to provide two separate collections of RemoteApps, and I only want the collection appropriate to the logged-in user to be displayed in Web Access (or in the feed, for that matter).  One collection includes an expansive set of
RemoteApps, and the other collection includes a limited subset of those published in the first.
Now, I know that a SH can only belong to one session collection.  That makes sense, and in my case, I wouldn't want it any other way.  It offers better separation between the user environment intended for use by employees, and the user environment
intended for use by non-employees, which is a bit more restrictive.  (Those are the actual purposes of the two collections described earlier.)  So far, so good.  Now, it seems to me like every other role beside the SH role should be able to
do its job for all collections.  What other purpose could the concept of a "Collection" possibly serve, after all?  If I had to stand-up Connection Broker, Web Access, Gateway, and Session Host for every collection of RemoteApps, then there
wouldn't need to exist any concept in RDS 2012 R2 called "Collections".  So, I figured that Connection Broker, Web Access, and Gateway could serve all collections, and Session Host is of course limited to serving one single collection.  And,
I guess, that's largely the way it works, with one exception.
My issue is that in Web Access, all RemoteApps from all published RemoteApp collections are presented to every user who has access to one collection OR the other, despite my best intentions of having provisioned each collection with seprate user group assignments
using two separate AD groups.  I don't want to advertise all RemoteApps from all collections in the Web Access namespace!  To me, the presence of "User Group" configuration at both the Collection level and at the RemoteApp level implies
that there is some user group filtering going on, but so far that's looking like a false assumption.  Why would the RemoteApp list in one collection bleed into the RemoteApp list in the second collection?  Why would I want the users of one collection
to see the applications of the other, even when they're not going to be able to launch them anyway?
Does anyone have anything to add to the equation?  Is there something I'm missing?  Thanks ahead of time.

This is now resolved.  There is obviously some additional configuration necessary in some relatively odd places when you want your RemoteApp collections to work as advertised.  I hope this thread can help others in that regard.
The relevant (error) event generated for each "populate list of RemoteApps for Web Access" process (refreshing the web access portal was my test case), when my IIS application pool is provisioned by the new AD account is Event ID 10, Source: RDWebAccess.
In the body, it says "[...] unable to access rdcb1.[local]" and suggests that the RD Web Access server needs to be added to the TS Web Access Computers security group on the connection broker.  However, that was obviously already the case.
Although not 100% correct in its suggested resolution, this error was helpful, because it shows that the break is occurring when Web Access tries to populate RemoteApps, and is shows that the break is occurring en-route to the CB server.  So, I added
the new service account (for the Web Access application pool identity) to the Administrators group on the server with the CB role, and all is now resolved.  I now have two separate collections, the list of each appearing for the appropriate user scopes,
but not for both user scopes like before.
Obviously, adding an account as an administrator fixes a lot of access related things very easily, but it is probably not the least-privileged way of doing things.  To that end, I'd like to know the least privileged way, but can certainly live with
    this much improved functionality as-is.
Thanks for all your help, Razwer.

  • RDS 2012 R2 - Outlook - RemoteApp - Credentials Window Hidden

We have deployed a 2012 R2 RDS Farm with RemoteApp(s) published via RDWEB but have encountered an issue with Outlook.
The application launches and operates correctly but when the users are required to authenticate with the Exchange Server the credentials dialogue window is not visible.
If I access Outlook via an RDP session directly on the server desktop, the credentials box pops up and can be populated accordingly.
It appears that when Outlook is launched as a RemoteApp the credentials popup window is hidden/no visible.
Has anyone else encountered this issue?

  • RDS 2012 Published through TMG

    Here's the test setup:
    internal domain forest: espaxis.net
    internal tree domain: tpmaxis.net
    Hyper-V 2012 R2 Domain controller: dctpm.tpmaxis.net
Hyper-V 2012 R2 RDS Server: apptpm.tpmaxis.net  (RD Connection Broker, RD Web Access, RD Gateway)
    RD Gateway Server:  apptpm.tpmaxis.net
    RD Web Access URL: https://apptpm.tpmaxis.net/RdWeb
    TMG 2010 Server: gw.espaxis.net
    Internal URL: https://apptpm.tpmaxis.net
External URL: https://app.somedomain.com  (DNS working fine)
    CA Issued Certificate: app.somedomain.com
    SS Certificate: apptpm.tpmaxis.net
    Questions:
Does the  RDS Server (deployment not actual network name) need to be setup with server name: app.somedomain.com or apptpm.tpmaxis.net?
Do the RD Connection Broker, RD Web Access, RD Gateway Certificates all need to follow name above?
As I understand the process,  the RDS client sets up an SSL Tunnel through the TMG to the RD Gateway,  and so I should expect the remote app to be looking for the internal App Server name apptpm.tpmaxis.net and not app.somedomain.com?
I have gotten this all working internally,  and limited success from the internet.  From a remote site I can connect, login and get the app collection folder on the RdWeb,  but when I launch an app I get App Disconnected and a complaint
that it cannot connect to the app server.
    S.

    Hi Scott,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
Yes, as per my research; your understanding is correct. The server will use “apptpm.tpmaxis.net” name and not app.somedomain.com for RD Gateway server so you must have that name as your FQDN name.
Yes, RD Connection Broker, RD Web Access, RD Gateway Certificates all need to follow name above.
When you will publish for external network you can specify the external name on RD Gateway setting. In my case external name “external.it.test” as per snap.
