Check the doc - [Developer's Guide|http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/820-6602/abwbw?l=en&a=view] . The permissions of private directory should be set to 500.

Reports 6.0 CGI error on NT4.0
I am having trouble running a Reports 6.0 report via my web
browser. I have a simple report that runs fine on my desktop.
I have RWMTS60 (multi-tier server) running as an NT service. I
have RWCGI60 in my web server's /cgi-bin directory. I have
environment variables REPORTS60_WEBLOC,
REPORTS60_WEBLOC_TRANSLATED, and REPORTS60_PATH set.
The HTTP command string that I am using is as follows:
http://myhost.com/cgi-
bin/rwcgi60.exe?server=repserver+report=reports+userid=website/su
pport@odbc:LocalServer:software_web_site+destype=cache+desformat=
HTML+paramform=YES
I keep getting the following CGI error:
"The specified CGI application misbehaved by not returning a
complete set of HTTP headers. The headers it did return are:".
I think I probably didn't prepare my report correctly to output
HTML files... but I can't find any help on how to deploy forms
over the web.... Can anyone help me?
Thanks in advance,
Keith
nullHi,

Wierd cgi error when using WebServer 6.0
I just installed Webserver 6.0 and migrated a server instance from 4.1 to 6.0. Everything worked fine..the server starts correctly. But the images do not display and I get the following error in the logs
[19/Jul/2005:11:32:11] warning (18534): for host 151.193.213.24 trying to GET /images/globalnav/rt_grey_bar.gif, cgi_start_exec reports: cannot find CGI program

nav/rt_grey_bar.gif (File not found).
the file is there..but why the cgi error?..anyone had this issue before?
Thanks for any pointers. We do not offer a JDBC driver for Linux in version 5.1. In version 6.0,we
do offer a type 4 driver for Linux.
In version 5.1, I suggest trying the platform independent type 4 JDBC driver
available for free from Oracle. It is supported (as is any JDBC driver)
with WebLogic Server. To download it:
Go to http://www.oracle.com and select the "Download" option.
From the resulting page, use the "Select Utility or Driver" dropdown to
select Oracle JDBC drivers
From the resulting page, scroll down a little (since SQLJ stuff appears at
the top).
Or, to go directly there:
http://technet.oracle.com/software/tech/java/sqlj_jdbc/software_index.htm

CGI Errors with different browsers
I developed a form on a website
http://www.brianspride.com/form.html
and the form submits fine in Safari, but displays the error below
in Firefox and IE. I looked on hundreds of web sites and was hoping
Adobe would have a posting, but I found nothing. Any help would be
much appreciated. I am a graphic designer with limited CGI
know-how.
Is there something that needs to be changed in the HTML or in
the .pl file? I created the form in Dreamweaver and didn't know
there would have to be additional programming. Any thoughts?
Error: Bad Header Fields
The header fields, which include recipient, email, realname
and subject were filled in with invalid values. You may not include
any newline characters in these parameters.Actually, that's not what would be causing the problem. We'd
need to see
the section of the script that is processing the form -
action="/cgi-sys/formmail.pl"
to see what might be happening.

CGI error(HTTP4044) occurred on SJS WS 6.1 sp4
Hi,
An error continuely occurred when a CGI page is requested. But other CGI pages work well.
There is no problem until yesterday. I didn't modify the program source.
Look at this error log.
[10/Nov/2005:14:55:57] failure (332158): for host 134.75.191.65 trying to GET /cgi-bin/ikimm_mis/Intra/mis.cgi, cgi_scan_headers reports: HTTP4044: the CGI program /app/cgi-bin/ikimm_mis/Intra/mis.cgi did not produce a valid header (program terminated without a valid CGI header. Check for core dump or other abnormal termination)
[10/Nov/2005:14:56:44] failure (332158): for host 134.75.191.65 trying to GET /cgi-bin/ikimm_mis/Intra/mis.cgi, cgi_scan_headers reports: HTTP4044: the CGI program /app/cgi-bin/ikimm_mis/Intra/mis.cgi did not produce a valid header (program terminated without a valid CGI header. Check for core dump or other abnormal termination)
My Web Server is SJS WS 6.1 sp4 and OS is AIX.
Is there anybody who knows this problem? The error says that something went wrong while running that CGI. As the error states, "Check for core dump or other abnormal termination".
If that particular CGI was working fine yesterday then something must have changed in the system or dependencies that makes it fail today, even if the CGI source itself wasn't altered. Step through the CGI code to see where it is failing and why and go from there. -
I'm using iPlanet 6 on Solaris 5.8. I''ve been unsuccessful at trying to get iPlanet configured to work with CGI. Here's the error I'm getting:
failue (26505) for host xx.xx.xx.xx rying to GET /mine/hello.cgi, cgi_start_output reports: cannot execute CGI script for /blah/blah/docs/mine/hello.cgi. (exec() failure [No such file or directory]), chroot=<none>, dir=<none>, user=<none>, group=<none>
The hello.cgi script does exist in /blah/blah/docs/mine.
I activated CGI as a file type and did not configure a CGI directory.
Can anyone point out to me what I don't have set correctly?
Thanks in advance.
RandyCheck that the interpeter specified by the #! line in hello.cgi exists.

Sun WS 6.1 / Windows Server 2003
We are intermittently seeing the following WS errors
[19/Dec/2004:08:32:41] failure ( 188): for host 66.161.77.163 trying to POST /cgi-bin/transact.pl, send-cgi reports: HTTP4046: error occurred while sending content to script (The pipe is being closed.)

Any ideas / suggestions?
Thanks.Thank you for the suggestions.
The application interfacing to the NIDAQ card is the only application running on the PC. At times something minor may run, but it is reproducable with no other applications active.
It was also reproducable not long after restarting the system. Did not see any memory usage issues relating to the occurrences.
Alteration of the sampling rate is not an option, as we have been using these for the past decade plus for data collection. (Difference now being a re-write to upgrade to DAQmx from Traditional, so as to support Windows Vista PCs.)
We are trying new cables connecting between the source and 6110 board.

ScriptProtect error replacing insecure tag in scope CGI
I am getting the ScriptProtect error replacing insecure tag in scope CGI error. This was brought up two other times in the history of the forum. Additionally it has not been truly addressed over the web. The problem that I am having is that the way that this is being addressed is very cursory. We all know that this can happen when ScriptProtect=all is turned on in the <cfapplication tag. The problem is that this is not related to the lib/neo-security.xml file. It can be resolved by removing the scriptprotect attribute, but we need this attribute for help with XSS attacks. I am running this on our site and though that it could have been something that I was passing in the URL but that is not the case. In fact, after removing all of the querystring and just calling the website directly after receiving that error. The error persists. It doesn't go away until I refresh the home page, close my browser or clear my cache.
The problem remains that when I go to a page, and pass certain values (which are not XSS related) and are not filitered out with the lib/neo-security.xml file I still get this error. Where is this error generated? Why does it reference the CGI scope of all things? How can this be resolved without removing the scriptprotect attribute?
Sincerely,
Braden LakeBraden Lake wrote:
Does anybody have an answer to this?
Nope.
Answer to what? What error did you actually get?
The only insight I can give is to why the cgi scope maybe called. The CGI scope includes date provide to the web server by the browser and is just as vulnerable to XSS modification by hackers as GET and POST data. Infact cgi.query_string is a copy of any GET date provided as URL parametes. -
CGI application misbehaved "error*
I have created some php forms using DW. They have been
working on my W2K3 IIS 6.0 server just fine. Today I added a new
form and am getting this error....
CGI Error
The specified CGI application misbehaved by not returning a
complete set of HTTP headers.
I removed the new form and am still getting the error.... so
I dont think it had anything to do with adding the new file....

I would like to be able to stop this from happening, and instead get a basic error message from my browser as I used to.
The problem with Google's handling of the error generating multiple subsequent errors leading to an overflow makes it difficult to edit an incorrectly typed URL to make corrections, and for other errors it makes it difficult to determine what the original problem was, let alone fix it.

== I set up Windows 7, installed Firefox, and set Google as my default search providerI don't know if this helps much, but Address Book was basically the same application in a previous version of the Mac OS. Folks still seem to use the terms interchangably though. Similarly, Calendar used to be "iCal."
I believe syncing contacts with Google or iCloud is an either/or proposition - you can't do both. When you sync with either, a copy is saved to your Mac for faster access (like a web browser's cache). I believe there's still an option to save contacts exclusively to your Mac (HD), but I don't think it's either preferred or occurs by default if you have an account such as Gmail/google or iCloud already set up.
I've never played with preferences in Contacts (Address Book), but I do have both google and iCloud accounts associated with my Mac. Under System Preferences:Mail, Contacts & Calendars, you can specify what accounts do on your Mac. If you have multiple accounts set up, a list will appear on the left side. As you select each one, a list of check boxes appear to the right for each service you want to associate with that account. For example, I have an iCloud account for mail, calendars, contacts, and Safari (among others). I have a Gmail account for mail, although it gives me the option of using this account for calendars, etc. For Gmail, the only item I have checked is mail. It's never asked me if I wanted to sync my addresses with Google.
I hope this helps... at least a little. If nothing else, I hope I've solved the "Address Book" mystery ;-) -
